Rebecca is in panic mode. She had found the baby a year earlier at her church. Someone had left her on the doorstep and Rebecca had raised her on her own ever since. The baby brought untold joy into her life... But now she's missing. Plucked out of her bedroom in the still of the night. Her worst fears realized, everyone searches the once quiet Amish town for baby Emma...but only one person knows the truth...
Another short story that was really enjoyable. I think the forgiveness the Amish show during hard times should be a lesson to all of us. I remember when the tragedy happened at Nickel Mines some years ago. I live not far from where it happened and have been past it several times. When I first learned how the Amish forgave the man who committed the tragedy, I realized how much better the world would be if the rest of us were as forgiving as the Amish are.
This was a "quick and dirty" story and not well written! Serious grammatical and editorial errors made it difficult to read at times! OBVIOUSLY the author has only a basic knowledge of Amish people and customs, as she has the opening set in a church house, which Amish DO NOT USE! Get an editor that knows the subject matter and correct grammar and diction to thourughly go through this story and do a complete rewrite!
