Haunted and hidden. Mysterious and sexy, Grayson Falcon steers clear of commitment in all forms. He takes the road less traveled, avoiding the demons of his past and the nightmares they cause. He uses his good looks and country charm to attain pleasure, but it is always a short-lived reprieve.
Sweet and scarred. Once believing that love can conquer all, Mandee Carlin’s life was then turned upside down and inside out. Her beauty queen good looks and sweet smile always caught the eye of the wrong kind of man. However, as a survivor, she still holds on to hope that one day she will come face to face with the man whose whispered words will give her strength to still believe.
What happens when the hopeless find hope … at the wrong time? Love is … Wasted.
MJ Fields is a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance novels. She lives in New York with her daughter Miss A, smoochie faced Newfie, Theo and the newest member to the 'fields crew, rescue diva / holy terror Eleanor. When she’s not locked away in the cave, she enjoys doing home improvement projects, spending time with her family, attending live music and sporting events, the theatre, singing off key, dancing to her own beat, listening to audio books, and reading of course.
This is Book 3, the last one in this series. I listened to it on Audible. There are three brothers, Gage Falcon, Garrett and Grayson. Grayson’s character is dark and gloomy, he has alot on his shoulders. His way of release is his guitar, Glory. He loves to play on it and has a great voice. He also enjoys one night stands, he doesn’t like commitments. Mandee works at her fathers bar, her best friend Phoenix works with her too. Phoenix is Gage fiancee from Book one. Mandee lost her mother to cancer, she and her father haven’t really recovered from her mother’s death. They have a lot to work on and they finally do. Mandee and Grayson decide to have a sexual relationship, but he realizes she is not that type of girl. Eventually she breaks down his walls and they confide so many coincidences and surprises. This storyline was emotional, so many twists and turns. The Falcon brothers are tight and protective, this book reveals secrets and so many hurtful lies. But, at the same time it’s romantic with a lot of very hot love scenes. My favorite Book is Book 1 with Gage and Phoenix. This storyline went from wasted to saved, healed and recovered ❤️♥️
MJ brings us the third book in the Steel Country series. This spins off from her Men of Steel books and we luckily get to see our favorite Men in this book. Grayson Falcon is the baby brother. He is the keeper of secrets that his older siblings can't even imagine. He is the spoiled little boy who got chocolate smuggled to him by his momma so he would settle down. He is the sweet child who has tried to keep his family together. He is a talented musician who humbly stays in the background because for him it's all about the music...not the fame.
I freakin' loved this book! In many ways, it is classic MJ--strong, witty heroine...super alpha male.....steamy s3x! Friends to lovers and a bit of destiny thrown in for fun. But this author can dump you on your a$$ with a turn of a chapter. Expect some turns in this one. Tissues needed as well.
I always love the author's sense of humor in all of her books. She brings us THE BEST chapter I've read in awhile: Bacon and Blowjobs. What follows would probably be on the wish list of quite a few men out there. My house included!!
As with the previous books, little Brand Falcon steals all the scenes he is in. Waiting for him to grow up and REALLY piss off Jase Steel. I also had a connection with Mandee in this book. She is somewhat sheltered and gives off the vibe of needing protection. However, what lies underneath is a strong, confident woman ready to LIVE. I loved how her and Gray together made each other stronger.
Very sad to say goodbye to this family. But promises of future novella's are coming down the line. Can't wait to see what these guys are up to! Fantastic story!
*Complimentary copy provided for an honest review.
I freaking love MJ Fields her Steel country series is amazing and I didn't realize that Gage would be beat in the swoon department but Gray stole the show for me adored him as a hero . Mandee is such a beautiful heroine inside and out she has every quality that I really admire . Gray just WOW pure yummy ness him and his bacon addiction . The sex scene are well written they'll just melt your panties away and have you dissolving in a puddle of goo . Also great to see what every one is up to , growing relationships , ways they try to redeem themselves , and the brothers finding the girl just right for them . I can not wait to see whats to come for the author she is a true talent copy provided for honest review **************************************** hero = 10 heroine = 10 secondary characters = 10 Chemistry = 10 steam = 10 romance =8 humor = 5 darkness level = 4 enjoyment = 10 angst = 4 action = 3 story line = 10 mystery = 4 character development = 10 pacing = 10 Plot = 10 cover = 10 stars = 5 author = 10 would I recommend this book = yes would I re read this book = yes would I read future books by this author = yes
I think I have officially found my new favourite Falcon (not including Brand because there is no denying he is MJ's greatest creation ever!) Grayson is the quiet brother, with a love of music and family that leaves no room for any outside emotions as he is consumed by secrets that he is keeping to hold his family together.
Mandee is also trying to hold herself together working at her father's bar but feels like life is passing them by and that they are merely existing rather than living. Then Gray shakes up her world, starting with his love for chocolate flavoured bacon. They become fast friends and soon enough, find out that they knew eachother a lot longer than originally thought.
The real test comes when feelings get involved and Gray must choose to continue running or stay and fight his demons. I have loved all the Falcon brothers and their alpha charm and I think this one may be my favourite yet. I recieved an ARC for my honest review.
The story has laughs, secrets, naughty fun, suspense, and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and I was kept interested.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Falcon's Landing (Steel Country 0.5) Hammered (Steel Country #1) Destroyed (Steel Country #2)
This is Mandee and Grayson’s story. Grayson has secrets that he is keeping. He also does not believe in love for himself. He loves his brothers but does not believe he can have that himself. He has a way with woman and give them a few lines to keep it impersonal. When he meets Mandee he is drawn to her but knows he can only offer her one night. So, he decides friends will be better. But when friends does not work they can try friends with benefits. Mandee has had bad experiences with men and is kind of handing out with a safe guy. But Grayson is far from safe. But the chemistry between them is off the charts. Can they resist the pull? What happens when secrets are revealed can he trust her to keep them for him? Or is this the end of them?
I loved these characters and the side characters. This series is a spinoff of the Men of Steel series so you get to see some old favorites. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read. M. J. Fields grabs you and drags you into her stories where she deals with real life issues and pain. She teaches about forgiveness and love. You will not be disappointed with her stories so if you are a first-time reader be sure to dive right in and get ready for a emotion filled love story with plenty of steam to keep you warm at night.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
A truly amazing, heart-wrenching, love story that started before they knew who the other one was. It happened with a song by him and a day that Mandee will never forget. The day her mother died and "sent" Mandee an angel in the woods.
Gray never had a relationship. Love was not something he felt he deserved. Women were one night stands with no attachments. He would never be able to love someone the way they deserved but sometimes love happens when we don't expect it. The day he "met" Mandee she was swimming in the lake, his sanctuary. He never would forget her. Even though he never knew who she was she still was able to touch his heart. It wasn't until years later when he finally realizes who she is that he starts to think that maybe love can be a part of his life. Mandee felt it from the beginning too. Although she never knew if the voice she heard singing in the woods on that day was real or not it made her come alive. Once she realized that it was indeed a real voice and who it belonged to she could not ignore what it made her feel. Love isn't easy but once you find it you hold on and never let go. Gray has been dealing with pain for so long he never thought that he would be able to love another. Mandee made him realize that love was worth the risk. She had her own hangups after her mom died. Her and her father weren't living they were just existing. Gray made her feel alive and how could she ignore what her mother sent to her that day in the woods.
Three brothers with three different stories but all of which were so worth the love they found with these women. Each one a 5+ star love story. So different but also the same- they opened their hearts and let love in.
Let me just start off by saying that MJ Fields is one of my favorite go-to authors. Nine times out of ten, whatever she writes, I read - and thoroughly enjoy. And each time I read one of her books, I think to myself, "This is my favorite MJ book." That is - until I read the next one. This is how it has been throughout the entire Steel Country series. I absolutely loved the first book and I thought, no one's more attractive than Gage. Then I read Garrett's story and of course thought the same. But then, along comes Gray - and I am blown away! His story adds so much more depth to the entire series as a whole and will make you retrace other elements in your mind and think "ahhh...so that's why that happened." And it's not just the story, it's the characters. Their experiences. The crap they grew up with, survived, and still have to deal with. There are no happy-go-lucky characters in this series - they all have dark pasts they're trying to overcome and crap in the present they constantly have to wade through. But they do it with such brawn and take-no-prisoners attitudes, it's really fun to read. And I had a lot of fun reading about Gray and Mandee. They are just such a cute couple, it's hard not to get invested in them. And as with the other books in the series, there are cameos from the Steele brothers and their wives and families, which is always entertaining as hell. But I have to say, one of my favorite characters in this series is Mags. She is just so amazing and I'd love to know more about her story. Something tells me there's a lot to be said about how she became such a wise woman. Anyway, do yourself a favor and read this book! You won't be disappointed.
MJ Fields is a sorcerer I tell you... a woman mad about some of the best words in her genre. I have over-the-top loved every single book she has written. I've devoured them like they're the last donut on earth and constantly find myself coming back for more, whether it's for something new or a reread of an oldie but goodie.
MJ and her stories make me a believer in the most imperfect, perfect kind of love.
Her books are so good... full of passion, intensity, angst, romance, suspense, and twists you'll never see coming. Her characters are addicting, captivating, and give a feel like they are old friends who are coming home. And finally her journeys... full of ups, downs, unexpected turns, ugly, beautiful, complicated, and everything in between.
Now, it's time to rock. And just when you couldn't get enough, the boys are back in time to heat up your summer and leave you totally... WASTED.
Wasted is the third standalone novel in the Steel County series... and what a stunner it was. Edgy. Engaging. Total body hangover. This book (and series) are where old and new characters meet for epic romances that will have you on quite the emotional roller coaster... from laughing, smiling, swooning, crying, getting mad... to in the end falling head over heels in love with Grayson and Mandee's unforgettable journey.
I loved every single piece of these two, even the broken more jagged parts. Their chemistry and banter was sizzling and it just rolled right off of the pages. I had big expectations for Grayson and I'll admit my man did not leave me hanging at all. He and Mandee gave it their all (secrets and all) and honestly there is not one moment I would change.
If you like your romances to have a bite that is so worth it then try MJ! And anywhere is a great start!
I highly recommend this book and anything by this brilliant author!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book.
I can't even explain how sad I am to see this series come to a close. I need for there to be more Falcon brothers! But, as far as conclusions go, this one was pretty spectacular. I think of the 3 books, I have to rank Wasted only slightly behind Hammered and before Destroyed. I loved Gray SO MUCH! He is the baby of the family but held so much weight that no one had a clue about, all in order to protect the ones he loves. And Mandee, she was the perfect woman for him. Their story is so sweet, so unexpected, so EVERYTHING. This series has been full of gut punching secrets and revelations and Wasted was no exception. However, in terms of drama, I think this was the least angsty out of all of the books and thank goodness for that. But there is a twist in there that I was in no way expecting and it just elevated the story in a way only MJ Fields can. Wasted was also more of a slow burn than the other two - we don't get any action until around 52% but when it happens, it's all the dirty, filthy, intense hotness that I've come to expect from Ms. Fields. This will be a book that I re-read over and over again - and I hope that the series is eventually added to Audible as well, because I long to hear the Falcon brothers' voices (particularly songbird Grayson) in my ears. I give Wasted 5 out of 5 wine glasses. Can't wait for the novella and whatever else MJ Fields comes out with!
Steel Country is definitely a place I want to be. Wasted is book three in this incredible series and we are going to find all we need to know about Grayson Falcon. A very complex man, a man who feels that running is the only way that life needs to be to keep his family happy even if it doesn't make him happy. Grayson is a talented singer but he is a man that needs know one until Mandee Carlin comes into the picture. Mandee Carlin is a young woman who has gone through many emotional ups and downs in her life. But the one emotion she never seems to be able to reach is Love. When Grayson Falcon appears in her life she feels the connection but the walls the two have erected are going to be so hard to crack but maybe the two of them can crack them together. There will be many moments in their story that will be heartbreaking but there will be just as many heartwarming moments too. The journey that you will be taken on is definitely one you don't want to miss. There will be tears shed, laugh out loud moments but not one will be any you will want to miss. With every new book MJ Fields writes you find yourself falling for each and everyone of these amazing characters and I'm sure there will be many more to come. So if you are looking for an Amazing Story than don't hesitate to read this one.
I LOVED Grayson. Unattainable, through choice, Grayson stays well away from commitment and 'love'. Haunted by his past, he doesn't stay in one place for long, always trying to put his loved ones first. I adored Grayson. He's keeping so much bottled up inside, it's very easy to understand his mindset and to fall in love with his character.
Mandee is a little naive and very sweet. Having lost her mum when she was younger, her life veered off path and now everyone treats her like a fragile little girl, which she hates. Meeting Grayson and having an instant reaction to him, catches Mandee off guard. I loved how Mandee changes during this book. Grayson brings out the real Mandee and I really liked her. Building a friendship between them is easy, both feeling like they've found someone they can be their true selves with and who can keep their secrets safe. I so desperately wanted them to realise they were meant to be together but with Grayson still determined he's no good for Mandee, she's got her work cut out for her.
This is the second book I've read in this series and I've loved them both, but Grayson is definitely my favourite Falcon man. He's the perfect balance of troubled and sweet, cool but caring and did I mention he's off the charts sexy? Highly recommend this book/series.
I love these Falcon brothers. I have to say, Grayson almost took the lead as favorite brother, but nope, but he is a super close second. Grayson doesn't do love and Mandee loves, love. When Grayson realizes he can't get enough of the one girl who does hearts and flowers, he's going to have to make a choice, fight or fly.
Of course nothing is ever so simple with any MJ character. They each have their issues and their baggage that they bring to the table, but it just makes it that much more enjoyable to watch as they struggle and come together. I love this series and this family.
I was disappointed that I couldn't get into this one. But all books are not going to be for everyone!vi will continue with the series though as I generally love MJ's books!
Grayson Falcon appears to be a mystery. Footloose and a traveling man, he doesn’t appear to have any troubles that a shot or a good laugh can’t handle. But people rarely look beneath the surface, and Grayson has some deep-seated scars and secrets. Music and meaningless, commitment free sex are his outlets to handling the pain of his past and not allow it to corrupt the futures that are being built in front of him. His family is finally shaking off the damage of the past and he will not allow the darkness that follows him to endanger that.
Mandee Carlin has existed since her mother’s death and her college nightmare. The only peace that she has is the woods. Her solace after her mother died was stumbling onto a mystery man singling in the woods and bringing beauty to her on her bleakest day. Now, running through the woods and releasing her rage and pain in the lake are the outlets that she uses to keep herself calm. She has placed herself in a safe zone and chosen to accept the small pieces of life that she is handed. But she is done existing. She wants to live and enjoy.
Grayson wants Mandee and her beautiful smile, but being with her brings complications that he doesn’t need in his life right now. Yet she is a beacon in the light that starts to blow the darkness away. Mandee has never felt more alive than when she is laughing or sparing with Grayson with words and innuendo’s. She wants the passion that she sees in his eyes, but she also wants the heart that he keeps hardened and hidden away. Will she be able to reach his heart, or will the past that Grayson has tried so hard to keep hidden cause him to run, or will it push the final button that causes him to reveal the truth to his family?
Holy hades has MJ Fields knocked me on my backside with this book. WASTED was full of drama and angst, while also being full of passion and delicious naughtiness! Grayson is such a complex and damaged character and so totally what I was not expecting after learning about him in the previous books. The secrets that his characters holds are damaging to his family, and it shows how much strength he holds to keep that secret. And Mandee is beauty inside and out. Yes, she has her own issues that she is dealing with, but she is done hiding and definitely takes life by the horns. I laughed and cried throughout this story and loved every moment of it. So totally recommend this book, and this series, to anyone that loves a good tear jerker with angst and HEA’s.
I love the way MJ’s mind works. Her stories are so twisted yet beautiful. Her characters are so lost, but then found. There is always so much going on, the pieces slowly falling into place until the big picture is revealed. I have read about 10 or more of her books—recent ones—and each one has stolen a piece of my heart. From the alpha, broken males to the equally broken women, each book has taken over my mind. Some, I can never forget—27 Truths, for sure—and some have made me laugh as much as they have made me cry.
MJ is on my must-read list. If you haven’t read her books, you should. They are unforgettable, with characters you love and scenarios you will not stop thinking about. They are amazing books you must reread.
On to Wasted.
We meet Gage in Hammered, Garrett and his sad, sad, so sad story in Destroyed (this book killed me), and now it’s Grayson’s, the little brother, turn in this book. Like Gage and Garrett, Grayson has a secret that could destroy his family. All the brothers had their own secrets. Unlike Gage and Garrett, neither of the other brothers know Gray’s, and he’s not about to tell them.
Then we have Mandee, sweet Mandee. Mandee has a sad past we learn about in Hammered. She had to watch her mother slowly die from cancer, and then there was a horrible, demeaning incident in college that everyone feels they need to remind her about.
There are a series of incidents that lead these two together, and some things are revealed. I really liked how MJ played this out. As a reader, you get it right away, but the characters dismiss the chances. It’s too good to be true.
The romance is a slow burn through this book. There are so many things happening, though, and a lot of appearances from former main characters that you get caught up in all the little stories going on (pay attention to Brand, because we all know his story is coming!). It’s a fast read and very much involved. Lots and lots going on that are led to, so pay attention!
I'm honestly disappointed...that this is the last book in the series. You know how it feels when you finish a series but just want more and know that there's nothing else afterwards and you feel depressed? Yeah, that's how I feel after this one.
It was such a good book and even though Gray screwed up a few times there and made me just want to smack him, he genuinely surprised me. He seemed like the nicer of the brothers going into this book, so I wasn't expecting him to be so distant, depressed and a player when it came to the ladies. He had such a big heart, yet he held himself back from those who just wanted to love him. It wasn't until Mandee walked into his life that he finally gave himself the chance to love.
He fell in love with a teenage girl he didn't even know years ago and it turns out, that mystery girl was Mandee. They were each other's light when they were at a low point in their lives (her mother dying from cancer, Gray being a late-bloomer and manipulated to feel less like a man on top of that). I loved their story and am glad that they were able to figure out who each other was and give a relationship a chance. One thing that I didn't see brought up again was the tattoo he had - it was mentioned briefly when Mandee caught a glimpse of it, but then she never said anything about it again once they discovered who each other was.
On top of their love story, there's still a lot of Falcon family drama and secrets that will be revealed and they were honestly shocking to me, especially given who it involved. I wish we had more resolution with it all and maybe had an extended epilogue years down the road, but that was missing from this book.
Oh and Brand was oh so adorable once again and I just wanted more of him (and that song, followed by the one Kiki sang were hilarious lol). Maybe a spin-off series with the kids???
All in all, a great end to the series and I loved the drama, connections and love story.
I am so sad that this is this series finished, I have come to love these characters so much and I feel like a part of my heart went with them when it got to "The End".
Grayson was the one brother I was most excited about reading, in the previous books he's always been pretty quiet and kept to himself so that what I expected in his own story but I couldn't have been more wrong. Gray was nothing like I expected him to be and that shocked me, he had kept a secret that I could never have anticipated and my heart broke that he shouldered that burden alone.
Mandee has always been the girl who believed in happily ever after and fairytales even when life has given her many reasons not to. I loved Mandee in the previous books but it got to a whole new level in this book. Mandee was sweet as pie and there were so many times in this book my heart hurt for her.
These two characters haven't always had things easy, they have lived through some really tough times and have had their faith in humanity tested more than once. The thing is MJ brought this couple to life for me and I instantly fell in love with them, their story touched my heart and I didn't want it to finish.
MJ Fields has quickly become one of my go to authors, each time I think she can't bring us a better story than the previous and then she smashes it completely out of the park! Wasted has taken the top spot in my list of MJ Fields books, this couple will definitely stay with me long after I have finished.
I'm really hoping we get a book for Brand and all the rest of the babies that these couples will bring us! This is my favourite book of the series and definitely my favourite couple. I love getting to see the other couples from not only the Steel Country series but also the Men Of Steel series! The way MJ incorporates them is a bonus in my opinion as I love finding out where some of my favourite couples end up!
I have enjoyed many of MJ Fields series. Steel Country is now one of them. So many twists and turns have me guessing throughout the story. A family torn apart with all the secrets and lies. And Gray has so much burden on his shoulders to protect his brothers, he can't move forward in life.
At the beginning, I was unsure how I felt about Grayson. Liked his brothers but Gray was a mystery. He has separated himself from the rest of his family. When he comes back for his brothers wedding, his plan is to get in and get out with no involvement with a particular awful family member. At first he seemed shallow and slightly flaky. However he was honest to who he was. His past blew my mind. And I could not believe he kept this to himself all these years.
Mandee is such a sweet girl with a heart of gold. Her Dad as well as herself need to move on and live her life. That is their goal. Now she runs into Gray and she gets to know him on a friend level. Which is something he never had below. They become close and confide in each other. They find out that fate is what brought them together. I loved her. She was sweet, caring and was never vindictive from what occurred in her past.
The rest of the story unfolds and is shocking. You will root for both characters to end up with that happily ever after. They both deserved it. This book uncovers the rest of the past of The Steel family and made it whole. I am so glad I read this book. Beautiful story with amazing characters.
I rate the book a 4.7 out of 5. This book is essential to read if you have already read the first two books of the Steel Family.
Oh these Falcon men are so very YUMMY! Wasted is Grayson Falcon's story, and it was AWESOME! He's super sexy, and will have nothing to do with relationships, which makes him a manwhore extraordinaire! Grayson's upbringing was less than idea, which causes him nightmares from the demons that no one knows about. Mandee Carlin is a sweet girl, who takes care of her father since her mother died too early. She's always caught the eye of the wrong guys, but her survival instinct keeps her holding on to hope. Mandee has no shield against Grayson's good looks and honey tongue, so she can't resist their pull to each other. And although he keeps trying to stay away, she has decided that she wants the "friends with benefits" with him, and it doesn't take long for him to give in. OMG I fell so hard for Grayson, it's not even funny, even with his questionable douche moves. And Mandee, I would slay dragons for, as her sweetness to help everyone else endured her to me. But together, they were a forest fire of lust, which led to serious HAWT sexy times that will disintegrate panties everywhere. I'm a HUGE fan of M.J. Fields, and she NEVER EVER lets me down with whatever story she writes. Which has me always waiting impatiently for her next masterpiece. The angst levels are off the charts emotional, the humor is hilarious which keeps me laughing hard, and the cast of secondaries are highly entertaining. Add in the huge twists that come out of left field to make me drop loud f-bombs, and it's the perfect story that EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ ASAP! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
MJ Field is an absolute genius. Tremendous series spin-off. I loved the Steel Brother's story and the Falcon's now share the same space in my heart. Gripping and captivating I could not put Grayson and Mandee's story down. With this installment you will be treated to secrets, lies, laughs heartbreak, tears, suspense and drama.
"True love is never-ending friendship, unbreakable loyalty and amazing sex"
This line just sums up this book for me. Two souls, devastated in their early years, just going through the motions of life. Little do they know destiny is about to strike. Grayson is the epitome of alpha male, women are used for a release. He is a great musician but doesn't like the limelight. He has the weight of the world on his shoulders thanks to keeping so many family secrets, causing him to run away to keep his head above water.
Mandee was devastated by the loss of her mother, her naivety with the world has got her into trouble with men more than once and now she keeps her head down and the safe guy close. At their first meeting Grayson and Mandee are inexplicably drawn to one another, but refuse to give in. Grayson thinks she deserves more than he can give and Mandee knows how unsafe Grayson is to her, but the chemistry is undeniable.
I loved this story, there was an easy connection to the characters, the story was enchanting and this is a true inspiration:
"Be brave, be bold, be beautiful, because you are." A definite must read series!
I loved this book HARD!! So good!! Honestly couldn't put it down but that is pretty much how it always goes with a MJ Fields book. Her stories just suck you in and you can't stop til you read the last word. Grayson Falcon **sigh** I just loved him. He was a so called man#hole but just like his brothers when he found the one he was done, all in, head over heals. But he had secrets, secrets that he kept hidden and caused him to run, never staying to long. Mandee she was the one! She was sweet, shy and so hurt in the past that she was temporarily settling with the "nice guy" he was safe. But Grayson made her want more and want to take a risk. They had a rough start, friends only HAHA!! you could cut the sexual tension with a knife. OK so then friends with benefits HAHA! They had feelings for each other before they met face to face. My favorite part of this story was the connection they had before they knew each other. They helped each other through some of the roughest parts of their lives before they even met. That connection was a wonderful part of this story. This book made me laugh, made me cry, made me mad and made my heart smile. How do you not love a book that does that! I can't believe I am saying this (because God I love those Steele brothers!) but this is my favorite of the Steele series. It combines my love of country music, hot men and fantastic story telling. Such an awesome emotional series of three broken brothers finding their true loves.
This series just gets better and better. I have been intrigued by Gray ever since the first book, Hammered. He just acted so squirrelly in the two previous books that I just knew he had a secret of his own. And what a doozy it was! Totally threw me for a loop. Did not see that being his secret at all. This book is my favorite in the series. It had me all over the place. It was funny, sweet, intense, shocking, heart-breaking, frustrating, heart-wrenching, sexy, and more! I love when an author bring in characters from other series and books and incorporates them into the story. The wedding scene with Brand was priceless. I laughed so hard, I almost cried down my leg. My kids thought I was losing it and I scared my dog when I busted out cackling. You know, I have always thought it weird when I read a spinoff of a series where the kids are older and get a story of their own. It just a weird thing with me. It hard for me to separate the kid from the adult I guess. Anywho, I totally want Brand's story though. He cracks me up and is absolutely adorable. I want to see what his character would be like as an adult and if he would still pursue Bell Steele or will Kiki be the one to capture him. Hmmm....the possibilities with that story. Hint, hint! Hehehe. MJ Fields has been favorite of mine for a while now and I so look forward to the reading about the two weddings. I still have so many unanswered questions.
The secrets in this book kept me saying "WHAT?" every chapter. I'm awful at dropping spoilers so just trust me when I say this book is worth a million stars. It has everything love, hurt, betrayal, freedom, secrets, and heat LOTS and LOTS of heat. A few of our favorites make an appearance and of course there's more Mags and Brand, I'm sold right there! I don't ever want to leave Falcon's Landing, it has become my favorite place to visit, from the cabins to the lake and every spot in between. I am in love with this series and how MJ can have us hating someone in one book and loving them in another. A few things about our main characters: Grayson he comes off as a wanderer, kinda going where the wind blows and being the anti-prince charming along the way. However, he is the one with the biggest heart and he has no idea how his secrets reveal his strength, his beauty, and how deserving he is of love. Mandee is the heart beat of the bar and they are very over protective of her, she's sweet and silently strong. She is by far one of my favorites, I identify with her a lot and can't wait to hopefully see more of her in the future. SN: I really love her Dad now too! Thank you MJ and please stick around the Falcons because they are an amazing family, twisted but amazing none the less.
Wasted by MJ Fields Grayson Falcon is the baby brother, yet is the one keeping the family secrets. All grown up with super good looks and charming ways. He is a talented musician but does not want the fame. When life becomes unbearable he gets on the open road and travels. When two family weddings call him back home, he does not expect to meet the girl who has been in his dreams for years. Mandee had the perfect life until her mother passed away. She made some wrong choices along the way. Back home and working in her Dads bar she meets Grayson and they have a connection. She knows that Grayson will leave and she is fine with that, after all she has always believed the man in the woods who sang is her forever man or is he? This was a super read with plenty of character development, heartfelt conflict, rising climax and panty melting moments. I really enjoyed the writing style from this author, she got to the point. There was no verbose writing or overuse of inner dialogue. Her diction and syntax was good. I found myself completely enamored with her writing and this cast of characters. Not to the mention, the great innuendos, the witty banter and the feels all intertwined with the suspense. This heart-wrenching love story will leave you swooning. ***** 5 Wasted Stars***** This series just gets better with each brother. They all have secrets they have been keeping from one another thinking they are doing the right thing by keeping all the nasty things hidden from the family. Grayson/Gray is the youngest of the Steel brother and the secret he keeping is one that his brother’s won’t be able imagine. Love or relationships is something Gray knows nothing about especially when he feels like he doesn’t deserve it. When Gray first see’s Mandee was at his sanctuary, she was swimming in the lake and from that day he would never forget the girl swimming that day. When Mandee’s mother is about to pass away she was sent on a task but she knew what was happing so instead she found herself at the lake looking for the voice she heard before and could never forget she needed to release her sadness but what she didn’t know someone was watching. Gray is home and when he runs into Mandee he see’s something in her and can’t keep her off his mind. These two have crazy chemistry and their banter is so good. Their story so full of emotions you get bit of everything. But Mandee and Gray journey won’t be easy especially when there past starts to come out.

Grayson Falcon only comes back home for the holidays. He avoids staying in one place as much as he avoids commitment and he’s better off living that way. After being summoned home by his older brother, he’s sticking around for an upcoming wedding, but he’s already becoming restless… Mandee Carlin is a sweet girl who’s had bad things happen to her and she’s turned into a survivor. She’s a good girl, dating an insipid boy and living vicariously while organizing someone else’s wedding. These two are brought together by fate and though Grayson believes he doesn’t deserve a woman like Mandee, he won’t be able to fight his feelings for her. Yet the biggest secrets around the Falcon family will come to light and they’ll all have to come together prepared to love and forgive to become stronger. The third Falcon Brother book did not disappoint giving us the final glimpse at this family’s story and their darkest secrets. Grayson and Mandee have a rocky relationship, but they will find their way through the woods. I really enjoyed some elements of their relationship, the way they meet and the things that ultimately bring them together, not to mention the music and the play of it along the story.

The Falcon men hold a special place in my heart. I was happy to see that they all got their HEA but sad to see this series end. I knew that Grayson Falcon was going to be the sweetest of the Falcon Men, I didn't see his inner demons being what they were. I will say that this book did leave a few questions unanswered, like what happens to dear ole daddy? Do I feel a spin-off a coming? You bet I do, I mean come on we all know that we aren't done seeing more from the Steels or Falcons for that matter. They still have tons of stories to be featured in. I think we are going to see some future Falcon's give Jace Steel a run for his money.
But honestly, the Falcon family has gone to he-double hockey sticks. They deserve to have some good things happen to them. As much as I didn't like Gail, I'm starting to feel a bit bad for her. She may or may not have been the bad guy she was previously perceived. I guess we will just have to wait to see what Ms. Fields has waiting for us. I can tell you without a doubt we will all be pleasantly surprised.
