Skye is the storm-tossed comic character out for revenge on the author who murdered his family.

Jace is the math-loving #blerd trying to escape his father’s deadly legacy.

When their worlds collide, Jace must choose between the real world he’s always hated, and the comic book world he’s always loved–and Skye must decide if killing his author will save his world, or damn his soul.

Skye’s a comic book superhero with a gun in his hand and a gripe against his author. Every girl Skye’s ever dated is either dead or trying to take over the world, and in the series finale, Skye’s best friend kills him. Or so he thinks. The weapon meant to disintegrate Skye lands him in his author’s universe. With a shot at revenge.

Skye, meet Jace. Jacen Howard’s a brilliant #blerd math whiz and comics aficionado–but at his West Baltimore high school that’s a bad thing, and if the bullying isn’t bad enough, Jace’s cop-father regularly pisses off the neighbors. Jace doesn’t see himself as a hero; he’s just trying to survive.

Jace might be just the hero Skye needs.

But Skye won’t open up when Jace tries to ease him out of PTSD, and the author’s still torturing his friends. As Skye’s mood swings and nightmares escalate, Jace realizes that if he doesn’t uncover his roommate’s real identity soon, Skye will hurt someone–and Skye’s still deciding if murder will save his world, or damn his soul.

Jen Finelli is a world-traveling scifi author who's ridden a motorcycle in a monsoon, swum with sharks, crawled under barbed wire in the mud, and hiked everywhere from hidden coral deserts and island mountains to steaming underground urban tunnels littered with poetry. She was once locked inside a German nunnery, and recently had to find her way through swamp-filled Korean foothills dotted with graveyards on Friday the 13th under a full moon without a flashlight. On her quest to rescue stories often swallowed by the shadows, she's delivered babies, cradled the dying, and interviewed everyone from prostitutes to Senators. Jen's a practicing MD, FAWM candidate, and sexual assault medical forensic examiner--but when she grows up, she wants to be a superhero.

This book is innovative, this is kind of a graphic novel. It has two versions

1. A text only version.
2. Text plus comic version.

This is story of Skye who is a superhero. It has lots of action and good illustrations. Good for lovers of novels and comics both. 3/ 5

Not Kindle Unlimited

bought the one with graphics {bit higher} because the roommate is in to comics, superhero, etc, and the graphics were nice when they were in there and story line was all right {did get confused a couple or so times} but just not much of a comic person, just wanted to do the read and review {the roommate NEVER reviews ANYthing} so not luv it but then again not comic book type person so reader results may vary type thing

there is some type of origin story book, but it's hard or paperback so with my vision that's out but wanted to mention it
