The story of men who are hurting―and hurting America by their absence Man Out describes the millions of men on the sidelines of life in the United States. Many of them have been pushed out of the mainstream because of an economy and society where the odds are stacked against them; others have chosen to be on the outskirts of twenty-first-century America. These men are disconnected from work, personal relationships, family and children, and civic and community life. They may be angry at government, employers, women, and "the system" in general―and millions of them have done time in prison and have cast aside many social norms. Sadly, too many of these men are unsure what it means to be a man in contemporary society. Wives or partners reject them; children are estranged from them; and family, friends, and neighbors are embarrassed by them. Many have disappeared into a netherworld of drugs, alcohol, poor health, loneliness, misogyny, economic insecurity, online gaming, pornography, other off-the-grid corners of the internet, and a fantasy world of starting their own business or even writing the Great American novel. Most of the men described in this book are poorly educated, with low incomes and often with very few prospects for rewarding employment. They are also disproportionately found among millennials, those over 50, and African American men. Increasingly, however, these lost men are discovered even in tony suburbs and throughout the nation. It is a myth that men on the outer corners of society are only lower-middle-class white men dislocated by technology and globalization. Unlike those who primarily blame an unjust economy, government policies, or a culture sanctioning "laziness," Man Out explores the complex interplay between economics and culture. It rejects the politically charged dichotomy of seeing such men as either victims or culprits. These men are hurting, and in turn they are hurting families and hurting America. It is essential to address their problems. Man Out draws on a wide range of data and existing research as well as interviews with several hundred men, women, and a wide variety of economists and other social scientists, social service providers and physicians, and with employers, through a national online survey and in-depth fieldwork in several communities.
Psychology is going to be ruin by the humanities and social sciences by either what they say is de-sensitizing toxic masculinity or hyper-sensitizing toxic masculinity as the data’s in and collected either it’s going to make psychology a made up science mythology or change the humanities and social sciences institution for last couple decades. https://www.intellectualtakeout.org/a...
One way it’s suppose to help culturally is that raising minimum wage will increase people to work. The huge amount of people not working lose most they’re ambition when wages won’t pay for them to go back. You see lots of people claiming disability rather than go back to work the rise of disability and weed for pain relief drugs would decrease if people didn’t think jobs were below them. Or the huge increase in disability and people in pain in the last couple decades is alarming. Are males in general facing an era of hopelessness or what is wrong with males now a-days that 1/2 male Albertians in the (NITLF)of 25-55 are not working and most have stopped even looking for work all together. It could be said like the Dutch disease. It’s not the first time to hit a culture.
Ben the book talked about computer IT taking a year break and not finding work and taking minimum wage jobs. They are all over people making $100,000 to $60,000 going to 27,000
If minimum wage went with growth it would be $19 American. So that would be like $25 canadian
At 1.30 US dollar to Canadian dollar
That's corporate welfare salary with no job security, hedge fund, housing crisis, no gold watch retirement, no benefits pay.
When are we going to go back to paying doctors on fence building and chicken eggs at least then we got in home visits And how are only corporation can own buildings or property but private entrepreneur or merchants can’t own buildings and property that just shows that coinage disappeared for printing more money for taxing sin tax who don’t know the virtue and corporate donations that corporation can’t have virtue its people in corporation on welfare salary that goes back not making more coinage but back into government to print more money.
Cigarettes obsolete to the real issue that suicide kills more people than tobacco illness. That getting an oracle of a few more years and knowing how it could go with nicotine with a government stamp on it is more stigmatized than the dozens of individuals space jamming life by smoking weed for that one person to have a job creation of harm reductions or disability field job to coach activities and games in an ever growing homeless population connecting issues that have no connection to the issue. To many men have left their mothers to soon or their mothers have left them way to early to care to admit. than the ever shrink cognitive abilities to mental retardation laws being put in place for drug consumption. If tobacco wasn’t so expensive or nicotine replacement therapy wasn’t so regulated, license rules and laws compared to alcohol then maybe life would be sequestered to jobs below people and people might self educate instead of have so much suspicion bureau or government schemes of power. When mental illness is to quiet an opposition rather than help recover. Even with the 70% rise in traffic deaths in Colorado after legalization people still want options like we’re not over stimulated enough by options and a persons-own failures. https://rodutobaccotruth.blogspot.com...
Last three months since struggling with vaping/nicotine gum and dark days with smoking people try to link tobacco with weed and I just say I'd trust an air pilot landing a plane smoking a cigar like a pro, it wouldn't be the same trust for someone with a joint. I can’t tell people enough about how much heartache I’ve seen with people with weed and the problems it’s caused.
But tobacco smoke is no way healthy and people looking to quit can find help with a counselor. Some may find pleasure in the hobby but never will I endorse or say it is for your health Typical warning add that I'd better say to be friendly or wise and all. People who would say smoking otherwise just shows the Malevolence in people
I think it's hard for guys cause they need a thing in their hands or an object to interact most the time To really have conversations Or study's say any reason people start smoking is peer pressure or friends impressions Or at least what harm reduction says about the high tobacco gives or any cognitive aid is just something in they're hand for the majority of male smokers It is easier to socialize when you share something in common. Supposedly I could believe it but I really like nicotine I could give many blogs on the mattter that help illness or mental health or how the pharmaceutical has taken the compounds of nicotine and made it into some anti/depression or anti-psychotic but it still doesn’t change why people start
Out of another book was the first Secretary treasurer under Washington, doesn’t help my anxiety of today although reading does. There should be anti-trust laws and less manufactured consent. If talent is over rated and finding your worth in technologies is tax the human. “You’d expect the machine would be tax just like the human doing the same work as well to even the playing field. Or at least one would hope”-quote from Bill Gates. To let aristocratic to control democracy in corporate mob rule instead which was the fear of monarchy states or provinces being ruled by virtue of wealth and toys for individualism rather education loans and family being meritocracies. Where not even getting mediocracies with entrepreneur’s in fifth business nor YOYO economies don’t come up as fast as they tank. Which was the huge fear in the late 1700’s that aristocracies would be in toys for the rich. that set up after the failed 1800’s to make the 1900’s the best even with the Great Depression, they could even pay for a couple world wars. These pictures below say it’s worst than the Great Depression. Hugely with the banks claimed debts from the south in the north. Mostly cause so many northerners died fighting the British that the paper money was never suppose to make the change(coinage) be worthless in the market or a country could print as the wish but the wealth gap would not be for democracies but corporate mob rule for toys with the rich and the corporate take property as it would will setting the market and only would will.
