He stole her lyrics, and then he stole her heart.

Lyric Cassidy is off the tour, lost as to what her next career move will be, and certain that she’ll never love again after Wolf. All because of a social media scandal that left her with no choice but to pack up and face the consequences. When she learns that the fate of her career is in her hands, she has a difficult decision to make. Step back on the tour bus with Wolf and deal with the mess she left behind, or end her contract early and lose her job at Perform Live?

Wolf’s shattered heart finds no resolve in giving Lyric a chance to come back on tour. He can never be with her again. Not after she walked away. Conflicted with wants and needs, he struggles to remember who Wolf was before Lyric. That’s what he needs to become again. Maybe then his heart will be safe. Or maybe there’s no hope for the damaged.

But with stolen dreams, betrayals, and terrifying threats—no one’s heart is safe. Not even the ones that may be destined to be together.

I'm HIGH on this ANGST.

I'm HIGH on these WORDS.

I'm HIGH on the Passion that kills me through these chapters.

This has got to be at the top of my most anticipated reads. After finishing Dangerous Hearts, I didn't know how to move on after that ending. Little did I know that Destined Hearts would be triple the heart attack that Dangerous Hearts was.

Wolf and Lyric leave off on a gasping foot. I'm telling you I have not read angst like this in forever. Wolf and Lyric have stuff to work out, secrets that will become truths. These two have a love that is greater then the tears, bigger than the heart break, and unreachable for others to even reach for.

WOLF! This man makes me feel every tingle in his words, his anger, his love. I just couldn't have asked for a better and more passionate character. LYRIC! Loooved her from the start, didn't understand her secrets, but boy do you find out. She's fierce, determined, and beautifully graceful with her love.

These two characters are completely intertwined in my heart for life.

This story is packed with so much passion I was gasping, for these too.

KK Allen, has completed this series the way a series should be completed, with So much passion, love, and craze her words will leave you with a hangover days later.

OVER THE TOP FAVORITE MUST READ SERIES.

"I can feel it. Our energy sparking the air. Two dangerous souls finding a match in each other."

In the last part feelings grew stronger, the angst had high rate and the romance had a front row seat❣️
Regardless, there were too many sex scenes, unneeded drama towards the end and all this fuss about Lyric’s secret was not necessary.
It was a great duet!!!

Destined Hearts had my heart dancing to the beautiful melody of Lyric and Wolf's love story. This sescond installment of The Stolen Melody Duet was fast paced and very passsionate. This entire story was simply captivating.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This second book picks up right where the first one left off. Both Lyric and Wolf have broken hearts and secrets that have formed a whole new wall that separates them. Lyric has a lot of trust issues steaming from her tumultuous childhood, but her unconditional love for Wolf is the one thing in her life that she is sure about, and she's ready to do whatever it takes to be with him. Wolf too would do anything for Lyric, but can he see past all the hurt, and let her in once again?

Lyric's past is coming back and threatening to take everything from her once again, but she's not the little naive girl she once was. She's all grown up and ready to fight for what she wants. Despite everything negative trying to get in the way of Wolf and Lyric's love, they make beautiful music together that comes from the deep love they share for each other, but will that be enough to finally break down those walls between them?

This story was entertaining from beginning to end. The perfect amount of angst and passion make the reader enjoy it, and truly feel like you are part of the story. The secondary characters were amazing and the writing style was like music to my ears. If you are looking for a beautiful rockstar story that will tug at your heart strings, THIS IS IT!!!!

Not the impressive ending I was hoping for. But I want to finish this series. Destined Hearts continues where it left off from the first book. Lyric has to faced her past to finally let Wolf inside her heart. The drama continues.

To be honest I feel like reading a soap opera with Destined Hearts. Miss Allen, I think putting too much unnecessary drama into the story. Some part certainly can be omited. But welll... it is what it is. I do not hate nor like this book. I was expecting much more serious plot.

***4.5/5 Stars***

I’ve found my perfect song. And there will never be a sweeter melody than Lyric.

Destined Hearts was a fabulous follow-up to Dangerous Hearts. Angst, true love, devotion and friendship flooded the pages and I kept my fingers crossed that Lyric and Wolf would get the HEA they deserved. But while reading this duology, I realized that I had fallen in love with the way KK Allen uses her words. How she uses them to tell a story and capture the characters thoughts and actions is emotionally powerful. Her writing is captivating, enchanting and entirely addicting. I definitely need to binge the rest of her books! So looking back, here are a few of my favorite things about Dangerous Hearts......
Wolf’s palms rub up and down the top of my thighs as he looks at me darkly beneath hooded lids. “What the fuck are you doing, Lyric?” His voice is low and gravely, filled with hurt and desire. Such a dangerous combination. But isn’t that what we’ve always been together? Two dangerous hearts that happened to find solace in each other’s arms?

Figuring It Out:

Lyric and Wolf's words hurt each other, and they sliced each others hearts open. It was raw and this book was even more emotional than Dangerous Hearts. Especially since we got to dive back into their lives and learn even more about who they were. As we started to see the full picture of Lyric's past, my heart broke for her. It was obvious how much the past hindered her, and I loved watching her try to figure out how to help herself heal. For her to be happy with her life, she had so much to work through. From trusting Wolf, to dealing with her mother, to rekindling a relationship with her father, she had so much on her plate. I was so proud of how hard Lyric worked and how far she came. Especially with Wolf.
Fear and hope crash like waves inside my rib cage. Fear that he’ll awaken and push me away. Hope that he’ll eventually forgive me.

Side Characters That Mattered:

Thankfully Lyric had some amazing people in her life, like her best friend Terese. I loved how Terese gave Lyric advice that was straight and to the point. She desperately needed that in her life. Since Terese was dating one of the band members, I was grateful that she there when everything kept crashing down. I was also so grateful for Doug. He was like family to Lyric and I loved how he looked out for her. But my favorite of all was Lyric's dad. I can't say why, because of spoilers. But he was an amazing and heartfelt human being.
God, I’ve missed this man. The way my body responds to him. The way he worships me with each touch.

Different Elements:

There were some scenes in Destined Hearts that was unlike anything we saw in Dangerous Hearts. There was mystery, suspense and some intense action packed moments. My heart beat faster and I was so terrified for what unfolded that I actually screamed out loud. So hold on tight because it was a wild and crazy ride!
“You have my everything for as long as you want it.”
“Forever, then. I want all of you. And I want you forever.”

Ohhh I also have to mention that one of my favorite things about this book was Wolf's patience. It was the most beautiful thing ever. He was truly a remarkable being, inside and out. Plus, the romantic moments were again scorching hot. KK Allen knows how to right a scene that is beyond seductive and erotic. Sigh. So yes, I definitely recommend this duology! If you adore romance, rockers or stories that have a beautiful way of being told then definitely pick up A Stolen Melody Duet! I'm so thankful I did!

After the cliffhanger in that last verse, well I could hardly wait for this release -- and KK Allen didn't disappoint. The Stolen Melody Duet ended on a very high note!

This installment was filled with a bit more intensity and troubled waters. But without giving away all the extraordinary components that filled the pages, suffice that all the kinks got worked out -- in a whole lot of different ways!

One of the best rocker romances I've had the pleasure of reading -- pure music to my heart!

I received this book to read and give an honest review through the New Adult Book Club, so thank you to both them and K.K. Allen.

I had read and reviewed the first part of this duet, Dangerous Hearts, back in June, so was anxious to see the cliffhanger through to its completion. Ms. Allen didn't miss a beat, picking up right where we left off. This book was quite a bit angstier than its predecessor, at least in my opinion... but that just heightened my enjoyment of Lyric and Wolf's story.

The alternating points of view continued throughout, which allowed us an intimate visage into our main characters' heads throughout, something that gave us a bit of an explanation of the 'whys' of the behavior of those certain characters... even though you still may want to smack them around a little. ;-)

As was the case in the first of this series, the smut was 'melt your kindle' hot. And Ms. Allen's writing flows like I imagine the music would for Lyric and Wolf, if they were composing in real life... the cadence and tempo are flawless... syncopated and dynamic. I enjoyed the edgier components in this book, even more than the first. Again, thank you to NABC and Ms. Allen for the courtesy copy of Destined Hearts in exchange for this review. 4 Perfect Duet Stars!

K.K. Allen captured our hearts with Up in the Treehouse and Under the Bleachers. After we read Dangerous Hearts, she showed us her edgier style and had us swooning over a rock star hero.

We loved reading Wolf and Lyric's story and couldn't wait for their conclusion.

"Lyric came along and not only filled my void with light, but gave music a new meaning. My music may have been good before, but now, it breathes life."

You're likely to read some spoilers here as Destined Hearts is book 2 in A Stolen Melody Duet. Destined Hearts picked up right where Dangerous Hearts left off. If you haven't read the first book, stop reading this review right now and go pick it up!!

Lyric crushed Wolf with her departure, and it hurt her soul to do so. These two have been through the ringer, and outside forces seem to always get in the way. Between an asshole ex, a douche canoe manager, and a lyric stealing mother, Lyric and Wolf had to navigate through rough waters to find their way back to each other.

"Our relationship was doomed from the beginning. Both of us were suffering from past regrets and self-imposed rules that kept us safe from each other, from falling, from ending up right where we are now. We knew we'd only leave disaster in our wake."

K.K. gives you a front row seat to the sometimes crazy world of rock stars. With a fantastic love story and a touch of angst, you'll be on the edge of your seat wondering how the story will conclude.

With many unanswered questions and a world of people looking to rip them apart at every turn, Destine dHearts gives you the conclusion you've been counting down the days to get your hands on!!

"It's funny how fighting for someone you love gives you more strength than fighting for yourself."

**Spoiler Free Duet Review**

“You’re the only one I see. When I’m singing to a sea of faces, yours is the one I look for.”

Well, the Stolen Melody Duet was one entertaining, angsty, drama filled read, that’s for sure. If you’re in the mood for one of those Kindle throwing reads where you find yourself shouting at the characters to….communicate, then this sexy, swoony, dramatic and emotional romance is for you!

‘Music has always been my purpose, but Lyric waltzed in and gave substance to it all.’

If there’s one thing we loved about K K Allen’s Up in the Treehouse, it was the relationship build, the intense feeling of love, which was also apparent in the Stolen Melody Duet. Whilst the relationship between Lyric and Wolf was anything but a slow build, we no less believed the magnitude of the attraction and chemistry between these two passionate characters.

“You don’t see it, do you? What you do with words?”

In this rock star romance, K K Allen certainly brought the fabulous -behind the scenes music feel- we crave in these stories, putting us right in the moment with the band; with Lyric and Wolf as they navigated their way through the turbulence and obstacles of life on the road as a rock star. The force and sensation, the excitement as the band took to the stage made us feel as though we were there.

Both Lyric and Wolf are products of the music industry, destined to be part of the scene thanks to their parents. Lyrics father is a well-respected rocker, her mother….well, she’s another story, and Wolf’s father was also part of the scene, so it was in the stars these two would follow that same path. Lyric behind the scenes, and Wolf Chapman, as the driving force and front man of Wolf, the band.

Both Lyric and Wolf carry self regrets from their pasts, harbouring a lot of pain which is reflected in how each live their lives, finding it hard to trust and let down those walls. Opening up doesn’t come easy for these two, especially so Lyric, who really has been bitten by disloyalty from loved ones.

‘It’s funny how fighting for someone you love gives you more strength than fighting for yourself.’

We have to admit there were times Lyric drove us to distraction. Poor Wolf didn’t know if he was coming or going. Lyric was hiding secrets from her past, Wolf was left in the dark as to what they were, yet was expected to understand Lyric’s hesitancy, a hard ask when he has no idea what her secrets entailed. We kept thinking….just tell him…communicate.

‘Here words are her weapons, and I’ve lost count of how many times she’s stabbed me. All I know is that it fucking hurts.’

We loved the relationship build, the music feel, the secondary characters were all fabulous as were the developing relationships of the Wolf band members, the comradery of the band and the banter between them. The romance was swoony and it was certainly hot, though at times we felt the sex overshadowed the emotional relationship between Lyric and Wolf, but then again, the physical release became a much needed escape and connection for them both.

“I want this,” he says. “I want us.”

This was one roller-coaster we didn’t want to get off! We probably would have preferred a little less dramatics, but overall the sexy, swoony and emotional elements we enjoyed far outweighed the odd annoyances. Fans of angsty rock star romances, who want to feel as though they’re part of the story, and who love having their stomachs (and hearts) tied up in knots; you’ll revel in this duet!

‘He steals my breath, my heart, and my soul, all in one telling kiss.’

I generously received this ARC from Foreword PR in exchange for an honest review...

After that shocking cliffhanger at the end of Dangerous Hearts I have been on the edge of my seat in anticipation for the conclusion. The moment this book hit my kindle I wanted to drop everything and immediately dive into it because I needed to see how Lyric and Wolf's story ends. Unfortunately, I had a few things to take care of before I could, but that only made me appreciated their story more. I knew that these two needed their happily ever after and that is exactly what the beautifully talented author KK Allen has delivered.

There were so many jaw dropping moments throughout this entire story and I do mean jaw dropping. Seriously every time I thought I had it all figured out something unexpected would happen. The suspense was perfect and leaped right off the pages. These moments helped to bring Lyric and Wolf closer then ever and to form a bond that couldn't be broken. Once again I was on the edge of my seat and my heart beat even faster for these two! This was the perfect story and the ideal ending that gave readers everything they wanted!

I'm not sure I can write a review that could do this book justice! I was already in love with Lyric and her story, Wolf and his, and their story together from Dangerous Hearts, but this masterpiece took my love to a whole new level. Finding out more about Lyric's past and the secrets she kept and seeing the growth from her and Wolf individually gave this duet so much more depth. The character development is nothing short of amazing, I literally fell in love with the every character in this book and would love to see more of them in the future. Although, if that isn't an option I am so happy with how this story ended. On a scale of 1 to 10 the steam factor was a 12 and the intimate scenes were written so well that I was physically squirming in the best way possible. To sum up this book It has been the best I've read all year and is now a new favorite! It has just the right amount of everything you could hope for in a book and K.K. Allen, in my opinion, made perfection.

Dangerous Hearts is my top 2017 read and after that cliffhanger I was desperate to get my hands on this book. Destined Hearts did not disappoint. The love between Wolf and Lyric bled through the pages, even when they were at odds. You know there was no way those two weren't going to work it out. I was surprised by the amount of suspense and "OMG" moments, but they were perfect, and just what this book needed. The ending left me feeling warm and fuzzy. Wolf and Lyric's story is one that's going to stay with me forever. If you haven't picked up book one yet DO IT. Everyone needs to fall in love with these books.

Even better than the first half!!!

I really loved Dangerous Hearts, the first book half of this duet, and I loved this one even more! Destined Hearts is more intense and there were some twists I didn't see coming. Once again, I adore Lyric and Wolf. Their story is one of the best I've read. Also, there is no cliffhanger! I didn't mind the cliffhanger at the end of part one, but know some people hate being left hanging. So, no worries with this one! If you loved part one, then you'll love this one too! I'm going to have such a big book hangover from this duet.

The tension and angst surely didn't stop in book 2 of the series, if anything it was heightened and made the book impossible for me to put down. K.K. Allen did a excellent job with this duet. There was so many highs in this book and Lyric and Wolf were just perfect. There's so much depth, longing and passion between these two that it will leave you breathless. There's so much these two have to fight past, and work through if they truly want a shot and so many ups and downs dealt with. They truly were drawn to each other like a moth to a flame and I loved when they finally realized this.

Wow.....I was not expecting what happened to happen. Mind was blown! Emotions were all over the place.......and I'm glad that I only had to wait a day from reading Dangerous Hearts to finishing up what was a fantastic conclusion with Destined Hearts. The Stolen Melody Duet is hands down one of the best rockstar romances I've read. Lyric and Wolf are simply amazing - loved watching their love story unfold. I enjoyed every minute of this story - the ending was absolutely perfect!

"I might love her more than she loves me. I’m just not ready to give her those words again. Not until she fully trusts me. Maybe I’m a jerk, but I’m holding those words hostage. "

First, you MUST read Dangerous Hearts prior to reading Destined Hearts. that said, Destined Hearts is one of my most anticipated releases for this summer. Wolf and Lyric captured me from chapter one in Dangerous Hearts and we were left at such a critical moment when Dangerous Hearts ended. K.K. Allen did a great service in picking up pretty much right where it left off and wasted no time letting us back into Wolf and Lyrics heads and hearts. There is a lot of reflecting on both their parts, how and why the fell for each other and reasoning through the fiery crash of circumstances that separated them.

Destined Hearts is very much a story about a young woman working through the childhood disappointments and hurts and finding forgiveness where is was due ( not that it's always earned nor given). But trying is was the only way she would ever move forward. She has to give up the pain that she holds in, and give over trust. I thought it was a beautiful story, how she expresses herself on what support she needs from her friends, her family and ultimately Wolf.

Wolf is amazing and I fell harder for him then I had before. His response to Lyric, what he see's in her and what he does with that, his response to her displays that elusive unconditional love that will heal Lyric. It's sheer perfection. I felt my tummy tingling at their possibility, how they give each other reason to hope.

What challenges them now comes pretty much from outside influences. There's a bit of a mystery that leads to some incredibly tense moments and made me so very anxious. I found myself incorrectly (and sometime correctly) guessing where the story was going. More importantly just how the characters would react. I also found myself rather proud of both Lyric and Wolf. What I really love was seeing the growth as individuals and as a couple.

"It’s funny how fighting for someone you love gives you more strength than fighting for yourself."

Destined Hearts was everything I had hoped it would be; sexy, sweet, and oh so soulful . Wolf and Lyric are one of my favorite couples and I find K.K. Allen to be an exquisite storyteller. 5++ Stars and a #2017Favorite

"I've found my perfect song. And there will never be a sweeter melody than Lyric"

This sentence sums up the story of Lyric and Wolf. Two people who are made for each other inside and out. Two halves of a whole.

Lyric is still reeling from the betrayal that took place with Tony. She is faced with a hard decision and while that decision is a no brainer Lyric doesn't know where she stands with Wolf. Having fled as she always does instead of facing the issue head on she left Wolf to ponder the state of their relationship. She makes the leap and heads back out on the road. Destined to win Wolf back and make their life right. Yet it isn't all love and light. Evil is lurking in the background and the evil has the face of her mother.

Wolf felt so much pain and anger when Lyric walked out. Having vowed at a young age to never fall in love because it causes nothing but misery he starts wondering why he handed his so freely over to Lyric. He knows he wants to be with her forever but can he forgive that easily? Wolf wants answers from Lyric and he will push until he gets them. Little does he know a shakeup is about to occur and one disgruntled employee will disrupt the bands future.

There was many points in the book I was truly mad where I wanted to fight a fictional character mad. The love between these two is a steamy affair and they are really a power couple unlike any other. I adored this series and I'm a sucker for rock star books of any kind. This book also has so many interesting background character that make you really want to see have their own book. Maybe we will see a future book with a certain someone. This book has a little bit of something for everyone.

oh. emm. gee. I loved Dangerous Hearts (Book 1) but even that doesn't hold a candle to my insane love for Destined Hearts!! I want to scream it from the rooftop of The Aragon, I. FREAKING. LOVE. THIS. STORY. So, so much. How K.K manages to continuously weave such intricate storylines is beyond me, but I hope she never stops! The combined books are about stolen lyrics in so many ways, but the different elements of love are the icing on the cake. The love Lyric and Wolf both allow themselves to give and receive. The love Lyric realizes she's worthy of. The love between father and daughter.
I also especially loved the dark elements. It was edge of your seat drama that kept me turning the pages as quickly as I could. I seriously didn't want this book to end and I sincerely hope that she carries on with the world of Wolf, Lyric, Mitch and all the other guys!

Destined Hearts by K.K. Allen is book 2 in the A Stolen Melody Duet. I loved the first book, Dangerous Hearts so much and didn’t see how she could top it but this book; I find it hard to find the right words to express how amazing this book is. There are a lot of good authors but few are great and K. K. Allen is one of the greats. She has a way of writing that takes your breath away. Wolf and Lyric’s love story takes you on an amazing journey that will grip your heart, make you laugh and make you cry. I can’t recommend this book and this author enough! I promise you won’t regret it!!!!

In this, the conclusion to the duet that started with Dangerous Hearts we pick up exactly where we left off. Lyric has left the tour after all the drama, and publicity with her Ex. We watch as she returns to the tour and Wolf and Lyric try to learn to trust one another.

I enjoyed this even more than the first story, it was angstier, we got to see Lyric's back story, and the reason for her strained relationships with her parents. I really loved the suspense element in this book, it kept things exciting and pacy at the end.

*6+ Stars!*

When you find an author that you just can’t read enough of, writing reviews for those books becomes extremely difficult. I never feel like I can give the story justice. I try but these books are so amazing that it’s hard to put into coherent words how I feel.

I have learned from reading Allen’s books in the past that I will love them hard and if I don’t watch myself I will read them all in one sitting. Now, I know what you’re thinking, doesn’t it mean you love the book more if you read it in one shot? No, it doesn’t. When I truly love a book, I want to read it slowly, devouring yet savouring it. I want to be able to get lost into the amazing world that Allen creates and leave reality behind for as long as I can. With that said, I absolutely devoured this duet!! Even when I tried to put it down so I could savor it longer, I couldn’t. It's okay though. I’ll savor it again. That’s what re-reads are for.

Lyric and Wolf’s story started in Dangerous Hearts and by the end of it I was left with a serious cliffhanger and a book hangover that was just as rough. I love the new sides of both, Lyric and Wolf, that we see in this second half. We get a much better understanding of why Lyric chooses to make the decisions she does and how it affects her relationship with Wolf. I loved the amount of twists and turns that are thrown into Lyric and Wolf’s way. There are perfect parts drama, suspense, passion, and even a few splashes of humor. The emotions flew right of the pages and hit me straight in the heart. While there were times I was frustrated with them I couldn’t help but LOVE them!

The song lyrics in this duet are some of my favorites ever! If only it was possible to hear them composed. Allen never ceases to amaze me and I love how she is expanding the genres she writes in and can still leave me wondering how she can out do her last book and then BAM! She kills it!

Do yourself a favor and go grab the first half of this duet because I promise you’ll be getting the second half immediately after you finish. This duet is perfect for a long summer weekend!

Now if only I could find a nice rooftop, like the one at The Aragon, to escape to for a re-read.

Grateful to have received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

Few of My Favorite Quotes

“Note to self: never f*ck with Lyric Cassidy.”

“I’ve found my perfect song. And there will never be a sweeter melody than Lyric.”

Stolen melody...stolen time...

Destined Hearts began where Dangerous Hearts ended with Lyric running away from Wolf after Tony caused a scene and created a media circus of lies. Destined Hearts and Dangerous Hearts was a rock duet that focused primarily on building a sexual connection between two characters whose parents were influential to them in the music industry. Both story's were sexually driven with minimal musical subject matter. Trust was a huge factor for Lyric to overcome with Wolf's rockstar status. He had to prove to her he could change his playboy ways. Love was reserved for few women in Wolf's life until Lyric showed him with her talented body how easily she could slip into his world.
"...Fixing things with Wolf would mean divulging why I hold so much resentment toward my parents, especially my mother. I just want to forget the past. I don’t want to have to explain it to anyone, but it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting that wish anytime soon." The entire premise of Destined Hearts was based upon this statement made by Lyric. This premise carried on for the first half of the story. When the secret was finally revealed it was quite anticlimactic as I suspected it would be.

K.K. Allen built an entire second book on the notion that Lyric was under the thumb of her parents fame, name, and popularity in the music industry.
The characters repeatedly made time for sex, but quickly made excuses to not ruin the moment with talk about Lyric's secret. Book 2 was an extension of book 1 repeating the same scenes. Very little growth between the main characters unless you count sex as growth. The minor characters didn't add much to the development of the story.
I found at twenty-four Lyric should have addressed the issues with her parents long before meeting Wolf. Lyric knew enough people in the industry to help her resolve the issues that she allowed to define her. Lyric's resistance to ignore her issues just made her appear weak not strong.

The execution of this story was weak with too much emphasis being placed on sex. I expected something completely different from what KK Allen delivered. If you took the sex away from these story's there wouldn't be much substance worth reading. I had hoped for a better read considering Up in the Treehouse was an exceptional read with substance. Towards the end it didn't like the direction the story headed going into a legal battle with Crawley. This wasn't the story I anticipated. Unfortunately, I skimmed the book hoping for some improvement.
