I received my copy as a promotion soliciting donations to the American Battlefield Trust. The Trust is a fantastic charity that protects battlefields against development. But this promotion fell a bit short. The book is very short and includes many facts that are well known to any Civil War buff. But I did learn a few things, so it is not a total waste.
It was interesting, but not organized by category and I did notice more than a few bits of "trivia" that have since been disproven (the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg did not begin over shoes) or were of questionable veracity. Useful by should be used sparingly, there are better collections of Civil War trivia out there. But please support the "Civil War Preservation Trust" which commissioned the book.
