Lucas 'Lux' Abrams is being bailed out of jailed by his older brother Kingston. Lux knows that he has done more than get caught breaking the law, he has up-set his well to do family by being arrested. Even with his trust fund, Lux has always been pulled to the excitement & thrill of chasing what he wants whether it be money or women. Sarah Crane is a petite apprentice ballerina looking to make it to the top & be a soloist with the Anaheim Ballet Company but the competition is tough. Our boy wants to believe he has everything under control just the way he likes it when in fact the two of them together change each other. Both of them, make the other look at who they are & what they want with them each having to decide if the easy path is for them individually or to fight & take the tougher road to have what they actually want. The ending is HEA & especially sweet seeing our dominate alpha male get all nervous when he has a question to ask. This is my first Linnea May book & I will definitely be reading more of her books including the book about Lux's brother Kingston. This book is meant for mature readers.

This is the second story in a series. I haven't read the first one but, this a stand alone so I had no problem following.
Sara is a ballerina who is celebrating being cast with her group of friends doing what she loves dancing when she meets bad boy Lux. Sara has a taste for bad boys even though she knows she should stay away. After one to many drinks she goes home with Lux only the next day she doesn't remember what happened the night before and Lux is wanting a repeat when Sara's sober.
Lux is not a relationship type guy at all, and he's trying to stay on the right side of the law not looking to settle down. But him and Sara are drawn to each other. Lux was so gentle with Sara and respected her limits.
This was a steamy & sweet book that had a fair amount of BDSM in it.

The "Barre" Provides Stability and Balance and "Freedom"?
This was a gorgeous lyrical read!!! It was beautifully written with exquisite but scorchingly erotic love scenes. The characters were nicely developed with just the right amount of issues to create romantic angst and tension. Sara is the spritely petite dynamo of a disciplined ballet dancer. She has a secret concerning her sexual desires and activities. She also longs to be a principle dancer instead of one of the corps.
Lux (translates to light in Latin) has rebellion issues. He is wealthy by means of his intellectual prowess with computer security and hacking. Prior to he legal endeavors, he was bailed out jail by his brother for illegal cracking and hacking. This gave him instant bad boy credentials with Sara which made him sexually irresistible...of course that and other attributes such as his Dominance, his beauty as a male, his genetic gifts and just maybe the St. Andrew's cross in the bedroom/playroom

This was a good first read with this Author. I liked the characters and the story, even if it felt a bit rushed at the end. I am looking forward to reading more (going back and reading book 1 in this series for sure)

Lux and Sarah are a vibrant couple. Though they are so very different from one another – Sara is a risk-averse good girl (with an attraction to bad boys), lives a modest life, and is talented and passionate about ballet, while wealthy ex-con Lux thrives on risky business, doesn’t embrace the arts, or long-term relationships – together they balance and complement one another perfectly.
Women are only play things to Lux, but he becomes enchanted with Sara when he attends the ballet to return her phone that she left at his apartment after a one-night stand that she can’t remember, and witnesses her genuine passion for dance, and soon he only has eyes for her. This was just as beautiful as the authors novel "Tamed". It shows how finding that right person to complete you can change your views and your entire life. Lux is an extremely brilliant and handsome man that grew up wealthy but still needed to find his way in life. So after a stint in prison due to some illegal hacking he wants to go legit. However, after some time of doing that with his own company, he still feels out of sorts and missing something. Meeting Sara was by band and usually not his type but she fascinated him in ways no other woman had. He tries to ask for a chance too see her again but she is not giving him a chance. Lucky for him he finds her phone was left behind after her departure and this presents him with the in he needs. Sara is extremely busy with her schedule as a ballerina and their time is limited. Just when the season ends they are forced to evaluate their " relationship" when events come to light. Sara cannot be with someone who is considering breaking the law. Sara has been hurt before by a badboy and it almost threatened her future. Its not until later that Lux realizes his true feelings for Sara, that he is Willing to be the man Sara needs him too. Sara is heartbroken by losing Lux but she has to remain focused on her career and even take his advice in order to further that process. Even with his dominant ego and arrogant personality she still misses him. Will Lux finally submit to his feelings and fight for Sara or will he return to the life of crime and leave her be? This is a great story of the ballerina and the brilliant adonis male that shows you opposites can attract.

I really enjoyed this story. We get to get up close and personal with Kingston's brother, Lux and finally get his story. This is the second book in the series but a complete standalone. Sara is a ballet dancer and Lux is trying to stay on the legal side of things but having a hard time. He misses the thrill of cracking and hacking into places he shouldn't with his old group. Sara and Lux meet in the club, after Sara is pretty drunk. The alcohol hit her hard and she didn't quite realize how far she was, and neither did Lux. He ends up taking her home, loving her fiery spirit. Lux likes his BDSM, nothing too extreme but he is definitely in control and has his own playroom. Sara has never really explored BDSM but likes what Lux does. She wakes up the next morning though and doesn't remember. Lux treats her well but she had sworn off bad boys because of her career and not wanting to get injured in the bedroom, even though she enjoys that rougher play as well. Lux is great with her limit. There is just something between the two of them that they have a hard time not coming back to each other. Lux was never any type of relationship guy but he can't stop thinking about Sara or stay away from her. They both stay in denial about what it is but they have their reasons. The story is written well and makes you engage and feel with the characters. The sex is explicit and kinky . The story does focus on the 2 characters and their relationship mostly but we do get some of their struggles on figuring out what their next step is career wise. The story flowed smoothly and kept me entertained and turning pages until I finished.

‘Barred’ by Linnea May is the second book in the Billionaires & Bohemians series but can be read as a standalone. I haven't read the first but that didn't stop me from enjoying this story at all.
Lux is trying to stay on the straight and narrow but is struggling not to lapse into hacking and getting involved in things he shouldn't be. He is a bit of a player and doesn't think he will ever have more or want more with anyone and settle down like his brother has. However after he meets Sara and spends more and more time with her he starts to see what his brother meant.
Sara is a ballerina that has sworn off of bad boys and wants to focus on her dancing but after meeting Lux in a club she goes home with him. Even if she doesn't remember what she did that night with Lux she is open to the idea of exploring more with him and figure out what her limits are sexually.
Lux is into being in control and does enjoy aspects of BDSM and when he meets Sara he enjoys getting to her limits and discovering what she likes and how his body reacts to her. There is a force that keeps bringing them back to each other and things begin to be more than just casual.
This was a well written story that allowed you to get to know the characters well. The story flowed well and kept you entertained and blushing. Neither expected or wanted what they have with the other ad they both have their own issues to get over and deal with if they can ever truly be more. I would happily recommend this story and will be looking to read more from Linnea May.

Barred was another great love story in the Billionaire & Bohemians series. I loved book 1 Tamed and Barred although following a similar romantic journey still had differences to keep me glued to the pages and reading this in a day, I could not put it down.
Billionaires & Bohemians Series (Tamed and Barred) gives the reader both beautiful love stories. The way these two brothers have fallen in love with artistic and compassionate women who are so far removed from their lives but bring so much with them to the individual relationships of these two brothers is excellent. All characters to me evolve and grow as their romantic relationships do and I loved that, it's like these women show the brothers the other side of privileged life.
I would have loved to had a chapter with Lux's mother meeting Sara as she was a favourite character of mine from Tamed Book 1 and intricate to the first love story. I am so sure Lux's mother would have been all over Sara being the woman her son would eventually marry.
The sensual erotic scenes between Lux and Sara are beautifully written and the tug of war Lux has with his business and how he encourages Sara in her career was an excellent side story to their romance.
It was also wonderful to see Elodie and Kingston again in this story. I do hope we get another story with these brothers and their wives embarking on the next stage of their lives together perhaps all in New York and Lux repairing his relationship with his parents.
My only complaint it did feel rushed at the end but I was also not ready to let Lux and Sara go!

Lux is what he likes to call the black sheep of the family. Second to Kingston, he feels like he's gotta rebel against all rules and that's what sends him to jail. He's such a bad boy, until he meets her. Sara works at a very prestiged ballet company and plans to become a soloist but all she wants to do is dance. One drunken night she meets Lux and goes home with him. From then on is Lux wanting her badly and fighting against it and she does not want bad boys anymore, but the have tremendous chemistry that is hard to deny. He is dominant and she loves to be dominated. I really enjoyed the story. Lux's fight against his own rebellious feelings and his change of heart. I specially enjoyed when Kingston says I told you so!

Barred is the first book that I have read by Linnea May and I really enjoyed it! It is a well-written fun read!
Barred tells the story of Lux and Sara. Lux is a bad boy who is trying to change his ways and live his life on the straight and narrow; while still living life on his terms. Though, he has no intentions of ever settling down; he can’t help but be drawn to sweet ballerina, Sara. Sara is a bit prim and proper and not at all interested in losing that image by associating with an ex con. Pretty quickly Lux and Sara realize that what they think is just some sizzling hot sexy, casual fun is way more serious than they could have ever imagined. I loved watching their relationship grow.
Linnea May definitely has a new fan. I can’t wait to see where she takes us next.

Sarah is petite and on the short side to be a prima ballerina but she refuses to give up. Dancing for a top ballet school, she finds herself in secondary roles and isn't asked to perform during the summer. Going out with her roommate Olivia, she gets drunk one night and goes home with a man. Realizing this woman has no memories of their hot night together, Lux wants a do-over, something that is very rare for him. Olivia doesn't have time to get involved but is drawn to Lux's dominance in the bedroom. Linnea's writing is why I keep coming back for more!

This is a Sexy, Heartfelt, witty read, about the domineering bad boy who didnt think he would be ever fall in Love till one night when he met a sassy ballerina who sent him spinning the other direction! I am so glad to read Lux's story! The connection that develops between Lux and Sarah is so deep,so very quickly - almost like a certain other brother did :) ( I love that! ) some BDSM, emotional ups and downs are rounded out with some awh let's hug it out moments and a killer HEA! This is one of those I couldnt put down. I am looking forward to reading more from Linnea May! 5 Stars!

I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivize review. Having enjoyed Tamed, I had high hopes for its sibling counterpart. My hopes were met as I enjoyed Barred as well. There's something amazing when the MC's spend more time apart than together but you can still feel the pull and heat between them. And when they are together, pure explosion. Great story and characters!

This is another book by this author that I absolutely loved. I loved this exciting love story about rebellious "bad boy" and a classical ballerina, both faced with choices that would change their lives. Linnea May is an excellent story teller, she keeps readers on edge from the first page til the last word of the book. She is one of my favorite writers and I'm looking forward to reading Ms.May's next book.

It was ok
This was not my favorite story by this author. I did love the first story in this series, a bad boy billionaire romance.
The problem I had with this book was that I did not feel a connection between the two mAin characters.
It just felt like they were horny all the time, nothing wrong with that but it doesn't make a good alpha romance story.
Not a bad read but not great either.

Good read. A very mixed up and angry man meets a timid, sometimes naive girl. What a mix. He has major issues with himself and family. She just wants to dance but secretly has a side to her she wants no one to see. You can't put it down and is a great read. I recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.

Another great book!! Lux was a bad boy who rebelled against his family. He doesn't do relationships, he'll never be "tied down." Or so he thought, until he meets Sara. The dancer he met at the bar. Could he be a changed man? I really enjoyed getting to know Lux and Sara. Love is a beautiful thing. This is definitely a book I would recommend to everyone to read

Lux is Kingston's brother and has been in prison, only for a few weeks thanks to Kingston, Lux is a tech Nerd (as Sara calls him)
Sara is a Ballerina who is almost done with her season, she goes out with a few friends and gets a little drunker than she realizes.
Lux takes Sara home and although Lux is into BDSM Sara has never really done anything like that, Not saying she doesnt like what happens
she actually has a darker side to her than what she looks like, When Sara wakes up the next morning she doesnt remember exactly what
happened the night before. Lux is great to her, and when the part she thinks that was the last time she would see him,
Lux realizes that Sara left her phone and he decides he needs another night with Sara,

This is the first novel I've ready by Linnea May and she had me hooked from the beginning. I cannot wait to read more novels from Linnea. After a night at the Club we are on the journey of Lux and Sara. Lux is a strong alpha male billionaire that want to have things his way and Sara is the graceful ballerina that has a submissive side to her that loves to be dominated. There is a instant attraction to one another but both are trying to fight it. I loved how the story showed how each was trying to come to terms with how life would be without another. I highly recommend this story. If you love a HEA story than this is definitely the one.

Barred, by Linnea May, is a bad boy billionaire romance with the hacker turned CEO and ballerina. This was a fun read with small appearances of Kingston/Elodie from Tamed. This story is about finding balance and submitting to love. It was well written, and enjoyable to read. The epilogue finishes were perfect for the characters and couldn't have been done better.

[2 stars] okay book, not super memorable book though. think the author should serialized her book because after finished reading this book than i realized i should have read "tamed" first before reading this book as this is the 2nd book. though they are not continuation, but still like to read them in sequence.
