So This was my first time reading C.A Bells Work and I was definitely not dissapointed.
Angel is a Whore working for Papa It's all she's ever known after escaping her abusive father back in England.
Angel initially believes that Papa has saved her. It's only later she comes to the realisation that he is using her and the other girls, and far from being a family she has become a virtual prisoner locked metaphorically behind the doors of Chateau Rouge and being used totally at the whims of the males around her.
Angel Is gritty and graphic but also has the strength and resilience of courageous and resourceful woman. Angel and her fellow whores show true determination and bravery against what is primarily a soul-destroying situation for them.
Even Simone, until Papa broke her tried to overcome her circumstances in life, in my opinion, it was the fickleness and disloyalty of her lover that finally destroyed her spirit, the heroin was just a mechanism to escape her wretched reality.
I adored seeing Angel actually feel something real for a man and Felix was really a real sweetie, such a difference to the sort of treatment Angel has received previously from men and I didn't blame him for being suspicious of Angels Motives at all.
To me, Angel is a story that speaks more of the resilience of a woman than an epic romance and how said girl is able to overcome and separate herself from her previous persona.
Becoming Emma for Felix.
Angel was well written and easy to read and I enjoyed it.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an Arc of Angel, this is my own personal opinion of this book.

*ARC given for a honest review*

Who would have guessed what really happened behind the closed doors of Chateaux Rouge?

Even though C.A Bell gives you an insight in to the book in her blurb. I dont think anything could.prepare you for what really happens in the house.

You read of friendships formed, betrayal, rape and love. Hope that it could all be better. Life could be better.

The book does have some triggers that readers may find hard. However, I think it was necessary to make the book what it was.

The only reason for the 4 stars is that I am left with a few unanswered questions. Questions which I hope may come out in another book.

Wow just wow!
I loved this book it gripped me right from the beginning.
At times it was hard to read as I just wanted to jump into the book and save Angel from Papa's evil grasp (you will understand why when you read it yourself)
Angel is a naive girl who was simply taken advantage off but as the book progresses she finds an inner strength that will either free her or get her killed.
I would recommend this book to anyone it's a brilliant story and you won't be disappointed❣

A story of love and hate….

Chateau Rouge caters to all it’s clients sexual proclivities but it is a virtual prison and at times a nightmare for those who ‘work’ behind it’s closed doors… this is an intense and at times dark book there are erotic aspects but mostly this is an emotional story of Angel, a young woman, living an unenviable life and faced with an unenviable decision…

…in many ways this is contentious subject matter sensitively written and told from Angels’s perspective filled with sad observations and irony at the world in which she is forced to perform sexual acts for little or no reward…there is a self loathing there but also a strength of character that rises above the sordid life she inhabits; Angel may be an experienced ‘whore’ but there is a sweet naivety about her inner voice…and her customers whilst mostly thumbnail sketches have a depth which hint at the melancholy and predilections that find them entering the Chateau…. into her life enters Felix, an artist, and everything she believed before is challenged…

I was intrigued by the premise of this story…there are two types of individuals described within these pages….there are victims and there are those who exploit them but it is not always clear which character is which…there are some humorous moments providing light relief from the jaded world of the Chateau…I particularly loved Angel’s reaction when asked whether she was a professional in certain aspects of BDSM….

….this is rather a sad story of manipulation and exploitation but there is also a hopeful message of love that does not judge and can be found in the darkest of situations……the ending left me with some unanswered questions and a desire to know more about the future lives of the inhabitants and customers of the Chateau Rouge….. I received a copy of this book as an ARC from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review

Words cannot describe how I feel about this book. All my emotions came into play while reading this story.

Angel is the main character in this story and she works as a whore in a place called chateau rouge in France and ran by an evil man who is girls call papa he is a sick and twisted human being some of the stuff the girls go through is horrible. Angel has never known any other life apart from being abused by her father when she was younger in England then moving to France to be picked up by papa and to work as one of his whores.

She hates the outside world and cannot go anywhere as she feels people know she has sex for money. She then meets Felix who is also from England but is sweet caring and kind and the one guy that wants to save her. Will Angel ever be free? and will Felix save her?

It's a cracking book by C.A.Bell and like all her other books she knows how to write a scene that pulls you in and trigger your emotions. To me it's that, that makes a brilliant writer. Beware this book is not for the faint of heart but I couldn't put it down well done C.A.Bell another job well done.

A truly captivating thrilling story. This book has touched me like no other. I felt every emotion portrayed in this book. Truly remarkable story telling. As I finished the story I knew that my life will not be the same again. I have fallen for this author's writing and cannot wait for them to write the next book.

The characters were truly inspirational and the storyline was compelling.

It is amazingly intense and the author prepares you for the journey for you to take alongside the characters really well. The characters and story development were perfectly done. This book was extremely well written and has fast become of my favourites of all time. This book was full of many twists and turns that will keep you guessing what is going to happen till the very end. I devoured it in one sitting. Incredible work!!

I will definitely be recommending this author to everyone I know.

Definitely one awesome book to pick up and I can see this author going from strength to strength. A truly inspiring work of art.

::..Reviewed for Red's Midnight Readers..::

I was kindly provided with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I have given it 5 stars.

I am a big fan of C.A. Bell and will pretty much read everything she puts in front of me and this was no exception. The blurb was incredibly intriguing and I couldn't wait to dive in.

We meet Angel, a whore at Chateau Rouge but she is tired or being used and wants out, however she is the property of Papa and he won't let her go without a fight.

Cue Felix, an artist from England who might just be her saviour.

Whilst I was reading Angel I was getting a Titanic meets the Moulin Rouge kind of vibe and I couldn't shake this sense of deja vu but I did find the story rather quite interesting. I couldn't put it down as things unraveled .
I was expecting something a little.... darker but I think that is because there is deviant in me that would have preferred darker elements to this story.

My heart broke for poor Angel, trapped in a life of being used and abused by anyone willing to pay for the privilege, so when we were introduced to Felix I hoped he would help free her from this life of misery and debauchery. Watching her grow from a weak character to someone who finally stood up for herself was great to read and I was right there with her, rooting for her.

It was a gripping, well written great read that you should definitely one click it.

This book is pure magic. Right from the very first page, I was drawn into the world the author created. I felt every emotion her characters felt, even wanting to throw the book across the room at times.

A certain character made me spitting mad, to the point where I was thinking up suitable punishments for him and suggesting them to the author. To elicit such strong reactions in a reader is a skill in itself, not to mention the elegant way the story is told. Violent situations that could easily be glorified for the sake of exploiting the reader's emotions were written with class and dignity, tugging just enough at the heart strings without being too much.

I felt for Angel and the life she was forced to live, and grew increasingly desperate for a happy ending as the book went on. I won't ruin anybody's reading experience by saying whether or not I got it. Suffice it to say, though, this is an author whose work I will definitely be investigating further.

Love Conquers

I loved this book. It tells the story of Angel, a prostitute who knows no other life except the one in Chateau Rouge. She longs for a normal life but feels it's out of her reach. Until she meets Felix. Can he be the one to help her out of this tragic life of hers? You will have to read this book to find out. This is a dark read but beautifully written by this author. The characters are truly brought to life. This is a must read! You will not be disappointed.

I HAVE TO SAY I HAD A LOVE HATE RELATIONSHIP WITH THIS BOOK. I LOVED THE CONCEPT AND IT WAS WELL WRITTEN BUT CERTAIN THINGS IRRITATED ME. I REALLY FELT FOR THE CHARACTER ANGEL BUT FELT AS SOON AS SHE FELT A CONNECTION FOR SOMEONE SHE BECAME WEAK, WHERE IN MY OPINION I BELIEVE IT WOULD OF MADE HER STRONGER. I LOVED THE ENDING AND HOW EVERYTHING WAS TIED UP.

What a brilliantly executed standalone this really was… I loved every word written. I felt some of the scenes could have been extended a little but that didn't take away from the enjoyment of the book. This is a little on the darkside so please do read with caution.

I actually really loved Angel, she was different. Someone who could be living next door to the average joe on a normal street and I found I connected with her really well. Some of the characters you will love others you will hate.
This story is very well written with a good attention to detail and everything tied up nicely by the end.

My thanks to the author for the very well written words

When I first began reading this story, I thought that it seemed a little clumsy and naive. Then I realised that this was Angel, telling her story, and her personality came through in the prose. She is only a young woman, barely out of her teenage years, and she stumbled into a dark and dangerous world after escaping a childhood of torment. The graphic scenes of sex and violence were hard to read, and I felt physically affected a few times. Not for the faint hearted, this is a book that deals with the darkest side of human nature. I was so glad to find a reasonably happy ending for our poor protagonist. It had me hooked, that's for sure!

This is the third book I've read by C. A. Bell. If you haven't picked up your copy of Angel, you should. It's heart-breaking, redemptive and a powerful read. The characters are well-developed in aching detail. There is little here that won't cause a deep and visceral reaction for the reader. You will wince, rage, weep, and smile as you join Angel on her journey to her wholeness.

It's a wonderful thing to see Bell's ever-evolving writing style, strengthening world building and evocative characters. This book is terrific for the mature reader- but be warned, there is physical and sexual violence depicted- and none of it gratuitous... Angel does work in a French whorehouse. Five Stars

This has been one of those reads that leaves you wondering "how the hell do I put in to words what I think " It has been a story that I was totally engrossed in and I didn't want to put it down or end. You definitely get pulled in to the emotional journey that Angel has been on, the twists and turns, the abuse of trust, innocence, purity and through it all the gaining of strength and belief is amazing. This is truly well written, with beautiful characters and with the suspense and thrilling plot is one that keeps you wondering what will happen right to the end. Simply Amazing.

I really enjoyed this book! i really felt sorry for Angel, the things she went through in life were horrible! From escaping from an abusive father in England to end up in a Whore house in France with the most vile human being who goes by the name of Grand Papa!

This is Angels life as she knows it until she bumps into a handsome stranger while out on an errand! This is where her life changed! Welcome Felix!

This is a really good book and well worth the 5 star rating. I had the opportunity to read and review an ARC of this book.

An intense subject with captivating characters. For me, this story is truly about the resilience of the human spirit way beyond the romance. Despite your circumstances, there is strength in you.
The intensity of the story, the journey of the characters and their aspirations were what captivated me. :-)

What a fabulously different tale of hardship, sexual deprivation and love. A well written story of a young girl and the life that she leads as a prostitute.
Not knowing any different, she continues to stay in the confines of Chateau Rouge and the restrains of Papa.
Emotions, nail biting and sometimes heart-breaking. A must read but not for the faint hearted. Big 5 from me.

This book had me from the beginning. I felt sorry for Angel. She has had a rough time of things being beaten by her Step Dad when she was younger so when she was taken in by Papa she felt she owed everything to him. Even though really she was just one of his call girls and he was her pimp. She knew deep down it wasn't right but the only life she knew was inside Chateau Rouge so she just put up with the way she was treated as she had no one and nowhere to go. She was scared of what awaited her outside of Chateau Rouge. But when a man called Felix comes along wanting to draw her, She started to fall for him. He wasn't like all the others he hadn't once expected anything sexual from her. Could she really escape Chateau Rouge? And Papa? Papa would never let her go she was his property and he would kill anyone who tried to take her.
Another great book from this author. This book had me routing for Angel from the beginning. I just wanted to see her escape and have a better life. She didn't deserve to be treated the way she was. Some horrible things happen to her in this book but it's not too graphic and you want to read on to see something good happen to her. And it didn't disappoint! This book has a great storyline and some great characters, though not all of the characters are nice, infact some have you wanting something Bad to happen to them. Definitely my kind of read.

Well, honestly, I'm kind of a bit disappointed. Whilst reading the blurb I had some high hopes for this one. It sounded like it was going to be full on from the get go.
Unfortunately, I just didn't find anything to really draw me in until I got to about 94%.
Ok, I know, if I found it that bad then why did I carry on reading? I'm not a quitter. That's why.
There were a few scenes where I felt that the author could have delved a bit deeper, she could have gone a bit darker.
I didn't really see the point of Hugo until the end. And then his appearance at the end...how'd that happen without anyone letting him in? How didn't he hear the commotion?
I found this book to be easy to read, in a technical sense. Not much of my brain was needed to power through the words.
But my heart did hurt for these ladies. For the situation they found themselves, the pain they were swamped in.
For me, I think three quarters of this book was warming me up. It was tip toeing just a bit too delicately around a situation that needed more bite, more impact.

When you have been sucked into a life of imprisonment living under the control of "papa" Angels life is faced with nothing but smoking weed & customers who just use and abuse her like a piece of nothing.

When one event goes so horribly wrong she sees the disastrous lengths papa & his rancid cronies will go to.

So she's stuck, forever in a world of just being used.

Sick disturbing and graphic scenes of sex rape and abuse.

When someone bumps into Angel by accident she is so petrified that she runs for dear life into the "house" she feels the most safest in, little does she know it's a place she has been manipulated into believing she's safe.

Sometimes in life a brief encounter with 1 person can make the world of difference, it can almost seem like a flower that was given life to grow, it just has to be given enough love and water.

Will life grow,
Will a change make its way to angel to let his butterfly fly away.

I have received an ARC for a honest review.

WARNING!!
This book isn't for the faint hearted, containing scenes many people would find distressing.

This book has blown me away in so many different directions. You name it there is every conflicting emotion possible in this read, violence, pain, rape, death, drugs, explicit language, sex and romance. This read had me gripped from beginning to the end. The reader follows the journey of Angel the whore telling her story with her pimp, associates and clients. This book is well written, well thought out and leaves you gripped.

C A Bell for me has achieved yet another fabulous read.

This book will have you thinking about the ladies of the night. The whores/prostitutes that entertain some men and women with needs. What if all prostitutes lives were like this? What if you didn't have a choice in life but to survive the only way you knew how?
Angel is that person. A life of circumstance and pain but a heart that is craving for love. I hate to give away too much but this book does have sensitive content and you will feel angry, sad and in the end the love that the author conveys in her characters.
I only hope this is the beginning for this Author as I wait for another instalment of her incredible writing skills.

This was a truly dark, erotic tale of a prostitutes hell. Angel is oblivious to the fact there is an outside world and more importantly, that she is worth more than the abuse she receives constantly.

I can't forget that this situation actually happens for real, outside our safe communities... out there, in that world of deceit, perversions and evil.

Can Angel find her way out, can she find love? Will that devil Papa pay for the abuse he inflicts on his girls... by the customers and himself.

Read it, be careful, pain is inevitable.

This is the first book I've read by this author and wow, it was gripping, a real page turner and had me glued from start to finish.
There was always something happening. It was a really good read, and well written.
The only reason i didnt give it 5 stars was bcuz of how it ended. Not that it was a negative ended. Just my honest opinion which is why we write these reviews, to help the authors.
I would recommend this book and im looking forward to reading another of this authors books ❤️
