'Xander' by Patricia A. Rasey is book Five in the "Sons of Sangue" series. This is the story of Alexander “Xander” Dumitru and India Jackson. I have not yet read the other book in this series so for me it was a standalone book. But with that said Xander and India met and seem to have a some history together in another book. This book picks up with India finding out that Spike her babe's dad is still alive. India acknowledged to Xander that she had made a mistake going to Spike and that it was a mistake. That Spike became upset that she was pregnant and that is why she ran away and came into their Clubhouse asking for help. Xander along with being a Vampire is part of a MC brotherhood and when India came into their clubhouse asking for help he did so. But his growing attraction for her is hard to fight and now it seems that what she was running from is now coming to get her. This was an exciting story for sure! *A Book Obsessed Chicks Review Team Selection*
I was lucky enough to be given an ARC of Xander. I have volunteered to write this review because the book is Amazing. Xander was fantastic-exciting, thrilling, suspenseful, and a hot, hot romance. On release day I will own an actual copy to read again and again. Then as soon as possible I will have a paperback copy in my hands (signed of course) to obsess over.
So what made the book so wonderful you might ask??? First of all the members of the Sons os Sangue (Blood) are gorgeous alpha males that just make my day better when I read about them. Xander is at the top of my drool chart. They are protective of their females and supportive of the other members.
Secondly, one of the main ideas of the story is the growing romance of Xander and India, a blood donor. They once had a thing for each other until India made the mistake of trying to make Xander jealous. The Sons don't do sloppy seconds. That doesn't mean he won't help her. That doesn't mean she won't keep her hopes up for more than friendship.
When she comes knocking on his door, he lets her in even though she is pregnant with another man's child. When he finds out who the daddy is, he still stands by her, keeping his word. Super swoon worthy!!!! Now that they are continuously in close quarters who knows what might happen.
There is trouble on the horizon. Enemies are coming. There are those that want the Sons dead. The Sons will have to act fast and smart to protect. Will Xander be able to protect India from the troubles ahead. Will he be able to keep her safe? And if he can, will he be able to protect his heart.
So much excitement!! So much drama!!! So much love and friendship!! Xander was packed full of everything that makes an addictive book. I was hooked in chapter one and now the withdrawals begin as I wait for the next amazing read from Patricia A. Rasey.
Gripping, emotional, action packed, dangerous and one sexy hot wild ride. Extremely realistic charters, detailed location, exciting heart pounding action and heartbreaking emotional trauma all in the same story.
Vampire biker Alexander “Xander” Dumitru is a darkly sexy, protective, strong willed alpha male caught in a extremely difficult no win situation. India Jackson is sassy, sweet, headstrong female who has wanted Xander for so long but made a huge mistake when he turned her down for more. Now she is alone and pregnant and in serious need of his protection from the danger of her ex come back to life. Could not for the life of me put it down needed to know everything. Loved it!
Xander Book 5 of the Sons of Sangue Series By Patricia Rasey Vampire biker Alexander “Xander” Dumitru has a problem on his hands, namely India Jackson. Loved this story. I giggled a little and then sat at the edge of my chair, towards the end, tears glistened at the edges of my eyes. Spike & “The Godfather” (giggle) of the cartel are really evil and sick SOB’s. Anyway, back to Xander, he is heart melting in love with India. He may not want to admit it at first, but half way through, he just can’t help himself. Patricia Rasey always delivers jammed packed sizzling hot rides for her fans and Xander is one of her best. We get to visit with past characters seeing more well-rounded character and the cohesiveness that needs to exist in the brotherhood of an MC. Of course, there is more to Xander than beats the eye, a little digging of his origins. And Grandpa Vlad is awesome, I’m glad we get to see more of him as he tries to solve a mystery. I can’t even begin to tell you how enjoyable this read is. I sat by the pool attempting a tan and instead got a bit a burn. The burn wasn’t just on the surface, let just say that afterwards I cooled off in the pool. Thanks Patricia for wonderful novels, each publication is truly a gift. So, sit back down, open that laptop and start the next one, we’re waiting! The Oracle Reviews gives only honest reviews and enjoyed an ARC of this novel.
"Xander" by Patricia A. Rasey. Book 5 of the Sons of Sangue series.
I enjoyed this story about Alexander "Xander" and India. Their story technically kind of started in the last book, Book 4 "Rogue" in which India had asked Xander for his protection against the father of her unborn child.
This story picks up a few months later with Xander wondering if he made the biggest mistake of his life letting India stay at the Sons of Sangue Clubhouse. All he can do is think about her and her unborn baby. But mostly her and who the father of her child may be. She won't say and he's thinking it's because the father may be an enemy of the Sons of Sangue. But India's blood calls to him like nothing ever has and he'll do everything he can to keep her and her child safe. He just may have a real problem getting over who the baby-daddy really is..... And to top it off, the Sons are on the verge of war with the La Paz drug cartel King Pin Raul who is now a vampire himself.
India's not sure she made the right choice asking Xander for help. He's promised to protect her and her unborn child but at the same time he's been avoiding her at all costs. When an explosion rocks the clubhouse and India's baby's mystery father is the culprit, she has to come clean and tell the truth. She thought Xander didn't like her before? Well, now that he knows Spike, from the Devils MC, is her baby's father? He says he'll still protect her but she's pretty sure that's the end of it. Once Xander gets rid of Spike, India has to go. There's definitely no future for them together as much as India would love to be with Xander.
Aww! Such a good story. I really enjoyed the push and pull of the relationship between Xander and India. It's really quite complicated. There are many different emotions that each character goes through trying to decided if they can actually make a relationship work. They have great chemistry together throughout the book. Add in the La Paz drug cartel story line and you have a very exciting story. It keeps the story flowing and makes you guess what's going to happen next and how are the Sons going to defeat this new enemy.
I enjoyed this story and I can't wait to read the next book about Ryder! Or Wolf!! Either will do! But I'm pretty sure Ryder's book will be the next book in the series so I will definitely be keeping an eye out for that. Can't wait!
I received an ARC in return for my honest opinion.
Oh my good gosh let me tell you. I really enjoy this book. Honestly I didn't think I would be too into this specific book in the series because I don't really care for Xander too much. I don't hate him. I just didn't find him appealing... and then Mrs. Rasey sure did prove a girl wrong. She sure did make me fall for the vampire. I thought this book was a great addition to her series and I am already begging for the next book. I could not put my Kindle down. I may have completed in less than 13 hours.
Without giving too much away l. My thoughts on Xander were that she really did find a voice for him. I enjoyed his story. I believe that his story line is relatable to many which is really cool when you're venturing into the world of Sci Fi and Fantasy. The ability to have your readers enjoy a story about a group of Vampire Motorcycle Outlaws and still be able to relate to the non-fantasy side of his story is an amazing gift. I felt the progression of the relationship between Xander and India was well written Even in my moments of frustration where all I wanted to do was ring Xander's neck for being so dang stubborn. Lol They just seem to actually fit together. They are perfectly imperfect for each other. What really got me in this book is Vlad. I LOVE Grandpa Vampire. He is my favorite and he is AWESOME. I hope maybe in that wonderful mind of Mrs. Rasey a back story novel or just a novel will be dedicated to him... wishful thinking!!! Thank you Mrs. Rasey... I can't wait to for Ryder's story
This was a good read and a bit of a change from the normal MC romance or paranormal romance stories. This book was a little hard for me to be able to read because I haven't read any of the other books in this series but it became easier to pick up on the plot as the story continued. This novel is part of a whole but can potentially be read as a standalone as I did with this one. Xander is lost, due to being abandoned by his birth parents and having horrendous examples of relationships because of his adopted parents he cant be around others for long. Nor can he contemplate having a relationship. Especially not now after India decimated what little trust he had. India has gone back to Xander for protection while she is pregnant. She refuses to let the father get his hands on her or her unborn child. He is the devil incarnate, so even though she completely screwed things up with Xander he is her best bet to protect her child. With a declaration of war and many factions joining the fight the only way to survive is to adapt. That is especially the case with Xander. Throughout this story you see the changes that Xander and India face and how they evolved in order to defeat the big bad and come out all the better...maybe. This was a great story, but again please be prepared to be confused in the beginning if you have not read any of the other stories in this series. The action scenes were intense as was the romance and the sex scenes were absolutely scorching. This should be a great series, by a wonderful author. ~ Book Obsessed Chicks Review Team Selection.
An amazing action packed thrill ride with our favorite vamps of Song of Sangue and a romance that is SIZZLING HOT and full of heart thumping action and romance that just makes you earn for your very own happily ever after with one of these guys!
Xander is smoking hot, protective, caring, a total bad ass with a sweet side that I found adoring as hell! India is a strong heroine who made a few mistakes and is willing now to do ANYTHING to keep her unborn child safe. Xander and India have a history together and when Xander finally decides its time to claim India, their chemistry is nearly combustible and oh so delicious. In between trying to make their relationship work, danger is closing in and Xander is one hero I would absolutely want on my side. I just crushed majorly on this hunk of a vampire and the plot thickens wonderfully and the storyline is just too good to pass up. I LOOOOVE Patricia Rasey's books and this one, is THE BEST!
Xander gets an AMAZINGLY WRITTEN FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Its full of passion, danger, action, and a wild crazy love that is all around dream worthy.
I received an ARC of this book to read and voluntarily wrote this review. If you’re not familiar with this series, the Sons of Sangue (SoS) is about hot, Vampire bikers. Alexander “Xander” Dumitru is ex-military, a vampire, and member of the SoS motorcycle club. He’s as honorable as they come, which is why he vowed protection to his former donor, India, a woman he doesn’t want to admit he desires. After all, there are complications – she’s pregnant, and the baby daddy happens to be a member of a rival motorcycle club, and a sworn enemy of the SoS. India has wanted Xander ever since she first met him and became one of his donors, but now that she’s pregnant but believes the baby’s father is dead, she fears never having what she wants, which is Xander. When danger comes to the SoS doorstep and an old enemy arises, Xander and the rest of the SoS members will do all in their power to keep India and the Club safe. You’ll find action, danger, loyalty, lots of passion, and a few surprises in this story. This is a series that definitely keeps me coming back for more. I can’t wait for the next book.
With every turn of the page, the angst bites a little bit deeper and a whole hell of a lot harder. India and Xander burn sweeter and sexier with every moment they’re left wanting. My curiosity over India wasn’t satisfied in the previous books, and as such I was excited to read her thoughts. Even better, I was able to get inside Xander’s head. I’ve been fascinated with GQ since the beginning. He’s always been the mysterious one. I loved each moment! Xander is more tortured than I pegged him for initially and his tale of woe only served to deepen my interest in him. He is honorable with a heart that shines brightly. He is sweet, unexpectedly playful and unabashedly sexy; I could not resist him! India surprised me. She turned out to be a force of her own will...and yet she still managed to remain vulnerable. I found her to be a woman I could identify with. Her growth made me fond of her....and I loved watching Xander take the fall. The revelations just kept coming and as usual the twists made me excited to keep reading. Ryder is intriguing and I’m very much looking forward to what will happen next for the SoS MC 💗
Xander is the most emotional of the SoS books so far. There were times I wanted to shout at Xander for being a stubborn pig headed fool and times I wanted to hug him for having such a terrible past. From the start though it was India who stole my heart, she's the type of girl you could easily have as your bestie. I went through a rollercoaster of emotions with India as her determination and devotion left me in tears at times. This book has some devastating lows which will leave the reader reeling there were times I didn't think I could carry on reading I couldn't bear more bad things happening to characters I was becoming emotionally attatched to. Whilst I thought Xander would be my new SoS crush that spot is still reserved for Gypsy but India is by far my favourite character that Patricia Rasey has brought to life in the series so far. Her struggle to win the man (vampire) she loves, her naive mistakes and her heart break make her so relatable. This is definitely another excellent book in an already stellar series and I cannot wait for the next SoS instalment
Xander is the 5th installment in the Sons of Sangue series and I think each book just gets better and better. Xander and India have a past. She's a blood donor and he's part of the MC Sons of Sangue and well a vampire as well. Xander's past is an unhappy one and because of his past he doesn't feel like he deserves to have something "good" in his life. India has been attracted to Xander for as long as she can remember and does things to try and make him jealous only to have it not work. Now she's come knocking on his door asking for protection for her and her unborn baby.
Xander and India both try and fight their attraction to each other, but when push comes to shove will they give in to what they want? I guess you'll just have to read it to find out. I will say that Xander's book left me feeling very emotional at times, more so than the other books and I loved how Patricia Rasey added some new twists and turns and theories into the stories and perfectly sets up the plot for the next book. Which I can not wait for.
Book 5 is Xander's story and I loved it. Wondering why he even got involved with India, he now has to protect her from someone that wants her. Nearly being killed himself, he begins to put the pieces together on who the culprit is, but in the mean time, he tries to keep the female at arms length, struggling with his own demons, Xander doesn't know if he is worthy to have that special someone in his life. India on the other hand will not stop to make him see that he is a good man with or without his struggles, she wants him to see that she is there for him, but things have a way of going south. Can Xander open himself up? Can India find a way to make him see that, Can the Sons of Sangue figure out who is after India and putting their club in danger and at risk?
If you follow the series, you will def love this book. Patricia did an amazing job and can't wait for her to do the next book.
MC books is one of my favorite genres. "Xander" is my first read in the 'Sons of Sangue' series, and I absolutely loved it! Add in the MC are vampires with a modern twist and you have a series that can't be missed for avid MC and paranormal readers. With Xander protecting India from her ex, who is an enemy from a rival gang, you know the action will be fast and intense. Xander gets more than he bargained for when his emotions take over and he finds himself more than a bit connected to India. The vampire takes notice, but does he want to mate with India? When it came to action, sexy romance, suspense and drama, this book has it all. There is so much content and action in this book that you won't want to put it down until the last page has been read. I look forward to going back and reading the previous books in this series. I would like to thank the author for gifting me "Xander" and asking for my honest opinion. This is mine. 5 Stars!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I absolutely adore The Sons of Sangue series!!!! It is so addictive and you really can't get enough of these stories, I have just finished this one and am dying for the next one to be written! This author is seriously one of the best out there!!!
So far Xander is my favourite to read about, he changes and evolves throughout the book and you begin to see the man he really is, behind all the pain and guilt. I love how protective he is for those he cares about, the people that have made it his family. India is a joy to read. She has been through so much in her past and also throughout this book but she has such an inner strength, where most people would crumble and give up she has a fire and determination that won't let her, she really is an inspiration!!!
People need to read this book, it is outstanding and will remain in your imagination forever!!!!
The next installment of the Sons of Sangue delivers! It only took me so long to finish this book because a) life got in the way, and b) I wasn't in a hurry to see it end.
I really don't want to give too much away for those that haven't read it yet. There are twists and turns, and startling revelations. There is love and heartbreak. There is hot sex and fatal retribution. All the things we've come to love about the Sons. And it centers around Xander - "G.Q." and India - the beautiful donor he avoids at the Blood n Rave.
The only spoiler I am willing to share is that there will be a lot more Sons to come! The book is a page turner and had me sucked in halfway through the first chapter - it's just that good.
Awesome writing Ms. Rasey! Looking forward to the next book!
I was provided with an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
After making a mistake, India runs back to her friend in search of help. Alexander has always known that he wanted India, but doesn't think he is mate material. One man stands between them. Will India get closure for her past and losses? Will Alexander finally be able to overcome his past and accept a future with India?
This is the first book in this series I have read and while I recommend reading the books in order, I didn't find it hard to understand. This book also sucked me right in and I will definitely be reading the rest. I was glad that India's character was strong and determined at points not to give up. Alexander was a big softy once you got past his wall and when he finally decided on what to do with India, he went all in. Great book in my opinion and will be start the others in the series this weekend!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Xander (Sons of Sangue, #5) by Patricia Rasey is a great addition to this series. It's so good to be bad! Xander and India have a past and he has his reasons for not wanting a future which drives India into the arms of a rival MC member. I have eagerly been anticipating the release of this story for these characters and it's so much more than I could have hoped for. As with all Sons of Sangue books, there is a generous amount of action to keep the story flowing as the characters grow and evolve. It's an emotional love story interspersed with excitement. The author does a fantastic job of providing just enough backstory to make this a stand alone read without feeling lost. If you enjoy vampires and bikers, I recommend this great series.
What can I say I loved this book from start to finish and just could not put it down. It has everything you want in a paranormal romance book, hot alpha's, strong heroines, action and a love story you wish was your own.
Xander totally not who you thought he was from the previous books, he is caring and protective and will do anything for India. India is a strong women, a previous blood donor who will do anything to protect her unborn child.
The story will toy with your emotions as it takes you through the highs and lows of the relationship, with enough action to keep you on the edge of your seat. Amazing writing combined with a fabulous storyline and appearances from the other couples makes this another 5* story in my eyes. Cannot wait to read the next instalment of this series
This was another fantastic book in the SoS series.
I absolutely loved Xander and India. They were both flawed so it's safe to say these two made some serious mistakes. India's indiscretions led to a pregnancy and needing Xander's help to keep her and the baby safe from the sadistic Spike. His dark past and leftover guilt made Xander continue to push India away. This was a very emotional story, and at the same time the suspense was gripping.
I think Patricia Rasey outdid herself on this one. As usual, the plot was tight, everything strung out perfectly, and even left us with an intriguing setup for the next book. Up next .... it will probably be Ryder and his mafia princess.
Once again Patricia wrote a vamp tale that is unbeatable !!! Nothing like the tough motorcycle gang type bad boy to get the blood pumping but the author goes one better they are vampires with ethics willing to hand out frontier justice with a fangy smile!!! Each book focuses on a single Son but also keeps all the other members and their mates included in the story. There's a continuing plot line thru-out the series with a sub-plot for the chosen couple . I don't do spoilers so if you like myself are a prolific reader with high standards and loves a good thrilling paranormal read then may I suggest the Sons of Sangue!!! Hands down Patricia Rasey and Victoria Danaan are THE BEST VAMP STORY WRITERS EVER!
Once again Patricia gets you hooked from the first chapter. Each one of the SoS men you fall in love with. But Xander just make you melt. Xander is just one big teddy bear of hunky man. India has a past and a pregnancy but has Xander to help her. Which ends up more than a friendship. These two are a great match together. This book is so good. It gives it all to you with each turn of the page. Get ready for a roller coaster ride of emotions. Xander gives them all to you. A must read. Patricia is one awesome author. Each book gets better and better. I can wait to see what is in store for Ryder.
I absolutely loved this book! Xander or GQ as the sons like to call him, hasn't had an easy past. He was abandoned when he was an infant and lived with the family that found him, he had always wondered where he came from. He had fought Hus attraction to India for along time believing that he didn't deserve her.
India has been attacked to Xander since the first time she saw him at the blood & Rave but all attempts to get him to notice her have not worked out in her favor. Feeling lonely and unloved had India looking for love in the wrong places.....she ends up pregnant and scared. She turns to Xander for help.
Every Son’s of Sangue member deserves his own story and here Xander has a story to tell. I would so much love to share the contents, but I personally don’t appreciate spoiling and therefore won’t do it too. ( firm believer of not spoiling). What I may share is,Xander is deserving a happiness of his own to overcome the tragedy he has locked within. There is sadness and sorrow and some yum 😉. Summing up, there are questions answered, but, there is a lot more being offered. The series is expanding with plenty of twists. Paranormal lovers won’t be disappointed. Patricia’s work is stimulating. Enjoy, as I too am looking forward to the next read.
Do you love vampires? Do you like them hot, sexy, and possessive with a story to tell? Well look no further. The Sons of Sangue has tons of alphas to choose from. I just read Xander and was not disappointed. Xander has a past that's holding him back from the woman he loves. India wants Xander and isn't going to take no for an answer. There's danger in the form of a ticked off vampire focused on revenge. This was a great story with A LOT of steam. Keep them coming Patricia Rasey!!!! Oh, and did I mention that the cover is hot! I received an Arc in exchange for an honest review.
OMG i loved Xander wow what a guy oh i wish i had a Xander in my life !!!
His protective nature towards India had me oohing and aahing and when the emotions and sexual tension came in to it well all i can say is HOT HOT HOT.
the storyline around the rival MC and India's Ex and the Cartel made for a rivetting read and meeting up with Viper and the boys again is always something to look forward to :)
a great read i would highly recommend now role on for Ryder up next .....oooh i cant wait
If you are a follower of this series then this is a must read. Beyond the romance of Xander finally acknowledging his love for India, and the journey they take to their HEA, so many changes and reveals happen in this book that will affect the direction this series takes that you will be slightly lost if you don't read. Such a good story. Throughly enjoyed the read and really looking forward to the next book, Ryder. Alexander "Xander" Dumitru just moved to the top of the list as my favorite SOS biker.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and I loved it. India fell for Xander however when he showed no interest in her she decided to try and make him jealous however she got pregnant and had to turn to Xander and the SoS to help protect her and her unborn child. Will Xander not only be able to protect her but keep her at a distance even if he still loves her. Read this brilliant book and you won't be disappointed
Patricia has a way of making a series evolve that involves all the characters. Xander is a touching and emotional ride dealing with past mistakes and moving forward. I love how we find out what has happened since Rogue and Draven and then find out new information from Grandpa. I enjoy catching up with the original favorites and can't wait to see what happens in the future for the series. Great job!
We have been teased with India throughout the seres. Now that she has every hope of being with Xander, we learn more about her.
I love how protective Xander was with India even when he was saying he was just friends He desperately tried to not want her, but we knew it was futile. They were made for each other.
I love how the family grows beyond what we thought I think I am in love with Vlad. Keep your tissues close.
