Bad Bad Bear Dad

Rate this book
Bear shifter Gray likes his life the way it is. Familiar and uncomplicated. He’s got a good thing going, and all he needs now is a mate to share it with. So when he stumbled upon her several weeks ago, he couldn’t have been happier. Until she started ignoring him, even going out of her way to avoid seeing him. How is he going to convince her that they’re mates if she won’t even acknowledge his existence?

Kelly Crouche has just watched her best friend sail off into the sunset with a shifter mate. Although she’s happy, she doesn’t think that’s the life for her. Like all the other women recently brought to Cloud Lake, she’s currently carrying a shifter child, a constant reminder of how she was duped by an evil human corporation. Does she really want a shifter for a mate as well? She’s always thought the answer was no, but after her best friend tricks her into spending time with one, the long-held opinions in her head begin to change from black and white into a sea of gray.

Just when she thought things were starting to come together, a startling revelation is made. She keeps it a secret from Gray, unsure of how to deal with it, but determined to do so on her own. Circumstances are working to betray her, however, and when it all blows up in her face, Gray might be the only one who can save her. To do it, he’ll have to unleash his darkness, and prove that he’s the baddest of the bear dads.

Amelia Jade loves to write the stories of tall, growly shifter men and the women who come to love them. Living out in the back-country near the mountains, she keeps her own alpha male close by, to keep the bears away and keep her warm. In her down time (which is rare), she loves to read science-fiction with a dash of fantasy. You can often find her curled up in front of the real wood-burning fireplace, her nose firmly buried in a book or her favorite ereader. The cold can't bother her there!

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

I had been looking forward to Gray’s story, he’s been a familiar face around the embassy for a while now. And, of course, at the shifter’s ball we got another glimpse of his search for his own mate. I’ve enjoyed Gray and his friendship with Andrew has always given me a few often ironic chuckles at their interactions. Gray was interested in one of the human women who the Institute had duped when we last caught up with him… although Kelly wasn’t as impressed by him as I was. While I adored Gray in Bad Bad Bear Dad, I have to admit that it took me a bit longer to warm up to Kelly – and to be frank, I’m not so sure that I ever really did. She’s Gray’s mate so she has a place in his life, I simply wasn’t convinced that she felt even close to what he felt for her. My opinion, of course.

We get another taste of the madness that The Institute produced from another source. Jacen was nothing more than a madman or a man driven mad but either way he was not good news by any stretch of the imagination. At first his actions drove a wedge between Gray and Kelly, later his actions proved much more than that. Don’t want to get into much more for fear of saying far too much.

I enjoyed Bad Bad Bear Dad. There were a few hints as to a possible next couple, we’ll just have to see if that happens. It’s always fun to catch up with other couples again, and we get that chance in this story. If you love Shifter Romance then I’d recommend this story, or any of the stories in the A Fated Mates Romance or the other series. They’re all amazing stories that will have you caught up in this world quite easily.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Words are beyond me I can never say enough for Ms. Amelia everything she writes is just absolutely amazing. Now the question is who's next?
 •••••••••••••
The Institute recruited hundreds of women with the promise of support for their children and the knowledge that they were helping to preserve the shifter race. They were lied too. When the Institute was taken down they found almost three hundred women in various stages of pregnancy,
•••••••••••••
Kelly Crouche is human and one of the pregnant women that were rescued.
She lives on the bare necessities they have given her an apartment, food and everything so she budgets so she can eat all month. She stays away from Gray, he was one of the men that rescued her from the people that lied to her, she avoided him constantly now not wanting to talk to him. He's so handsome he wouldn't want to do anything with a pregnant lady who has nothing. Especially when trouble follows her.
Gray is a Bear Shifter who works for the Cadian embassy at Cloud Lake, he is Andrew's guard and friend. But when he what part of the rescue mission of the pregnant females he saw her. He knew he wanted to be with Kelly so he started a plan to be friends with her and maybe go further. But then trouble happened.
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Another great story that gives us so much more than just the two main characters.
How lovely to get Gray's story. He has been a fixture in Cloud Lake as Andrews right hand bear. We know from the previous book his heart and bear has chosen Kelly, a friend of Erika. But will Kelly realise what a big softie he really is under his sometimes scary exterior and give them a chance.
These two are slow starters and definitely learn about trust and honesty on the way to their HEA.
I loved that with this story we get more of the impact that The Institute and the war have had on ordinary people. The Kronum fighters who have been FREED from their recovery and Jacen, an Institute shifter.
I felt like I have the option of considering Jacen either a mercenary or a misguided or misinformed individual which I enjoyed. I am still pondering which I believe him to be.
Ms Jade always makes a book feel new and interesting no matter how many books she has written in that series.
This is my honest review of this book.

The shifters are becoming dads.....

When the Institute was destroyed by the Cadian shifters, it left over 300 women who were in various lengths of pregnancy, all with half shifter babies. They had nowhere to go. So the country of Cadia pooled resources and collected donations to erect housing and provide funds to see them through to the birth of the babies and beyond. But as nature takes its course, single shifters looking for mates began to come to the fore. One of these shifters is Gray, the bodyguard of the Cadian ambassador to Cloud Lake where the housing has been built. He finds himself falling for Kelly, one of the rescued women. Are they really mates? Can Kelly accept this? What will happen when the Institute shifter that impregnated her returns, after being presumed dead? The answers to these questions and more are in this, the 2nd book of the sub-series Big Bad Dads. Fantastic writing, luvable characters and the ongoing storyline ties it all together. Highly recommended.

Amelia Jade’s Bad Bad Bear Dad continues our adventures into the world of Cadia and its inhabitants, Shifter and human. This time we dive into Kelly and Gray’s story as they find their hearts entangled in the most delicious and passionate way. Kelly was liberated along with the other human and Shifter victims from the clutches of the Corporation, and she is living in the women’s compound in Cloud Lake, pregnant and alone. Gray is guard for the ambassador from Cadia and knows that she is his mate. Now comes the task of convincing her. Will he be successful? Read and find out for yourself!
Even though this is wound up in the other stories of this series, it can be read by itself. I’m sure it will spark in you the desire to find out more and read the other books. Do it. They are so worth it. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to leave my review.

Love Amelia Jade as an author!

I am still enjoying this series. I love Amelia Jade as an author.
Kelly was a friend of Erica's from the last book. She met Gray when all of the troubles were happening at Erica's apartment.
Gray believes that she is his mate but Kelly has been avoiding him for about a month and a half since that incident. Erica finally tricks her to come to a celebration at her house. When she sees Gray arrive she attempts to flee. But after getting stopped and spending time with him, she realizes that she was hiding for no reason.
During their courtship, things from Kelly's past come back to her. Things happen that cause a misunderstanding to occur. You need to read this book to figure out all of the complications that happen. You also will find out the strengths of not only shifters but also human women.

Second book in the series

Kelly is pregnant and living in the apartments the shifters built for them. She volunteered to be impregnate by a shifter to help them, but found out it was to destroy them all. The women were rescued and now live in a town with humans and shifters. Gray is the Ambassador’s bodyguard and a bear shifter. He knows Kelly is his mate but it’ll take a little convincing to get her to accept it. Kelly is keeping a secret and it just might end up ruining the best thing she’s ever had.
Pretty good story. Some errors that make it a little difficult to follow sometimes. Action and bloody with a little sex.

BAD BAD BEAR DAD

I absolutely loved Gray and Kelly's story, it was so entertaining and really sweet. This book fits in so well with the rest of this series, and has an abundance of action, intrigue, emotion and romance. And as I have mentioned before, this series definitely gets better and better. Loved this story, very enjoyable. Can't wait for the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Gray loves his job as a guard for the Ambassador, but longs for a mate to share his life with. Kelly is struggling with her past and thinks that she has to go it alone with her pregnancy. A blast from her past comes back unexpectedly. Will Gray be able to keep her safe? Will Kelly accept what they are to each other?

Loved these two characters! I loved Gray's easy going, but protective attitude. I didn't blame Kelly for being hesitant and unsure of what was going on, but loved it when she let herself fall. Great read and cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

Taking A Chance

Another great story. Love Gray. He is the bodyguard to Andrew and has deserved his own story. He has a sense of humor but can be totally badazz when necessary.

This story will give you a glimpse of what the Institute is about and the undercurrents of what going on Cadia.

Big and protective.

In our own way each of us have our own shifter. Personally mine reads like big cuddly but rock solid Gray. This book is so fascinating that I enjoyed every word and interruptions were unwelcome, lol. Once started you won't want to put it down. A thoroughly great read from beginning to end.

The institute

Problems from the institute keep causing problems for Kelly and Grey. The big question is " are the babies in danger? " ?. As usual Amelia Jade created another book worth purchasing for my collection. She routinely created fabulous stories that keep me untangled in the lives of the shifters of Cadia and their mates. I recommend the whole series !!!

Enjoyed this the 2nd in the series- the story of Kelly & Gray, also sheds a bit more light on what happened to some of the women at the institute! Saw Gray & Kelly both in the the 1st book! I was glad to see them get their own book! A bit of drama, some sex & more drama, violence (shifters, ya know! Lol). Complete book, but I can guess who the next one is about!

Fun read

I love that the women duped by the Institute are getting their HEA. Gray goes for who he wants and Kelly isn't disappointed. Amelia Jade does a wonderful job bringing Cadia to life.

It's not often I enjoy shifter novels. Many are so trite and predictable. This one had an interesting storyline that I truly enjoyed.

Gray...

Gray was a strong, loyal Cadian, who was working at the Embassy in Cloud Lake as Andrew's head guard. He ran into Kelly at the ball (Big Bad Wolf Dad) and had been trying to connect with her ever since.
Kelly, on the other hand, was doing her best to avoid any and all contact with Gray, and doing too good a job of it...until Erika, her BFF, got in the middle of it!
Things were about to change...maybe...but would they be for the better?
Another great story of the Cadian Shifters, hopefully more to come since I am NOT ready for the saga to end!
