Beautifully written, this 280 page coffee table historical portrait of the Tampa Bay area, is filled with 450 images, charts, graphs, and historical facts. The 50,000 word manuscript is backed up by a powerful index, a superb feature of ebooks.
I remember this book retailing for 35 dollars and it sold very well. The author and publisher had promoted local businesses and corporations to have mini histories within the book. In short all expenses of promoting the book were paid before publication. When the book sale declined I was able to remainder the publisher’s inventory and sell the book for five dollars a copy. This upset my competitors to no end, since they to markdown there remaining inventory at a loss. I knew one of the authors as a professor at the history department at the university of south Florida, my Alma mater.
