INSPIRED BY TRUE EVENTS! Emmy's life is going just as she'd planned: She's living in her own apartment, dancing every day and is just leaps away from being named her company's next Prima ballerina. And she's only 17.
But all of Emmy's plans come to a screeching halt when the FBI shows up at her door to let her know that she's being stalked by a serial killer. Suddenly, the safe, insulated world she created for herself, is riddled with violence, fear...and a growing pile of dead bodies.
At first Emmy wants nothing more than to put her disturbing new reality behind her--forget that it ever happened. But her evil admirer isn't finished with her yet, and before she knows it, Emmy's stuck in a nightmare she can't dance her way out of.
Based on my mom's own experience with being stalked as a teen, SERIAL is an edgy, fast-paced, emotional thriller--THE FOLLOWING meets BLACK SWAN.
NOTE: THIS STORY INVOLVES GRAPHIC SCENES OF MURDER, RAPE, TORTURE, SEX and STALKING. MIGHT NOT BE SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE. USE OWN DISCRETION.
I read this book several years ago when it was free to read on another site. It remains one of the best stories I've ever read, with fun characters, a unique approach to an overexposed concept, and pacing that had me running home after school to get into the next chapter (can't much read when you're running... or maybe I just didn't try hard enough). As an adult, I'm looking to purchase a copy soon, so that may read it again and pass it on to friends. I loved this book.
