"the Winter Court never wanted the war with Summer Court. It was forced on us following the accusations regarding their princess."
"...after taking in the magnificent view from her balcony, Gwen, wondered if she would ever want to leave it. She eyes a pair of dove-looking creatures swoop down across the courtyard, landing softly on a white bark tree."
"While the plants had the traditional green and brown colors of the Human Realm, the flowers varied from the purest white to the deepest violet, with most bring shades of blue. Gwen was stunned to realize that thin layers of snow and ice were also dispersed among the plants, adding a sparkling glow to their vibrant colors. It left her speechless."
But first, I want to tell you all the things I enjoyed because there were many!
~A sweet, loving, beautiful heroine.
~A handsome, passionate, occasionally hot headed, overall devoted hero.
~Ian, he is just awesome
~The King of the Winter court, one cool dude. (Hehehe, pun intended.)
~The overall aesthetic.
I don't like giving spoilers so, let me give you some general details by what I mean when I say the aesthetic.
There is a lot of dark romance out there right now, but this was a fresh of breath air because the romance was sweet, loving, but still steamy and fun and a nice bit of star-crossed lovers vibe.
I was having a hard time functioning in the real world because I didn't want to put it down!
However, there is one solid reason that I put 4 stars instead of 5. There was a plot device for a reason why the lovers couldn't be together that I thought was poorly done. If you don't care about that kind of thing and just are reassured knowing there is a HEA, then no worries! Go enjoy some fae romance goodness!
If that's not the case though...
