Oklahoma's lieutenant governor, One-Eyed Mack, is called in by Governor Buffalo Joe Hayman to investigate when a killer begins targeting the state's legislators of both parties for murder
James Charles Lehrer was an American journalist and the news anchor for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on PBS, known for his role as a frequent debate moderator during elections. Lehrer was an author of non-fiction and fiction, drawing from his experiences and interests in history and politics.
Another tongue-in-cheek spoof on politics in general and lieutenant governors in particular!! He certainly brings Oklahoma to life!! The John Wilkes Booth mummy is a true story and there is a Maryland Mansion (they have a spectacular tour on their website). I like the way he weaves fact and fiction together. This book was written in 1994 so I enjoyed the homosexual reference and am glad to see how far we have come by 2017!! Even though the plots are goofy he always has a moral at the end that leaves me with a lump in my throat. Unfortunately I'm reading these backwards but Book 1 is waiting for me at the library!!
