Even as a child, Sharon created worlds where life might pose challenges but where unlikely heroes wielded magic for the good of all. In the end, ordinary people won the battle against darkness.

She did grown up things like graduate high school and college, get married and have kids. But she never strayed too far from the door into the mystical realms of story.

Once she had children of her own, they traveled to Narnia with her. She made it her goal to introduce them to her old friends. With them, she made new friends at Hogwarts and rode dragons with Eragon. Together they embraced the joy found on the other side of the magical portal: reading.

Sharon sings stories and weaves spells to transport others to that fantastical place where the weak are heroes. A land where quest completion requires strong character, not a mighty sword arm. Sharon believes three things: Magic is mystery; Hope offers the greatest help; and Success comes to those who refuse to give up a dream.

I never read the first book in the Virtual Match series, so a lot of stuff in this book was confusing at times. I didn’t know much about Marcus or Ronnie’s past, but the author did provide a bit of back history to help.

Ronnie and Marcus have been dating since being set up on a virtual dating match. Things seem to be going great for the couple, until a secret from Ronnie’s past along with family drama threaten to tear apart the couple.

Reading about Ronnie and Marcus, they seemed like a good match with both of them shy characters, yet at times Marcus showed he had a tough exterior. Ronnie is dealing with a huge secret from her past that she thinks will drive Marcus away. Fearing that Marcus won’t love her, she breaks up with him, yet he’s not going down without a fight. Marcus shows Ronnie that he loves her and is going to be there for her whether she wants him or not.

Despite all the drama that occurs in the story, this is a quick read with just over a hundred pages. I would’ve liked it there was a bit more detail in the story. In my opinion, some of the stories wrapped up too quickly and I felt the author could’ve expanded on the drama.

I would strongly recommend that anyone who reads this series start with book 1 that way they won’t be confused with all of the characters’ history.

This is the second installment in the Virtual Match series and I enjoyed it very much. I would give it 4.5 stars. I highly recommend that readers start with the first novella in the series, Reality Meets Its Match, otherwise some of the story line in this book may be confusing.

I read Reality Meets It's Match a while back and have been looking forward to seeing Ronnie and Marcus's relationship grow. In this story, they find themselves dealing with traumatic experiences from Ronnie's past and a serious illness in her family, which puts major strain on their relationship. This story fleshed out a lot of secondary characters that were introduced in the first story, giving me a stronger sense of the characters' worlds and more depth. I appreciated how Ronnie and Marcus's struggle was portrayed because it seemed realistic. Often times, outside factors will complicate a relationship in unexpected ways just as it did here. I found myself rooting for them and hoping that Marcus wouldn't give up on her. I wasn't disappointed.

I am excited that the next and final novella in the series is available and intend to check it out.
