5☆ Utterly Fantastic!!! WOW! What a read!

Expertly written
A Masterful play on all my emotions
Words cannot describe how utterly fantastic this book is.
More intricately juicy lil twists you don't see coming.
Unnerving, captivating, thrilling, very clever, unsettling, devious, Minipulative, passionate, raw, revenge, creepy.
I honestly didn't see that coming!

The Characters in Forget Her Name are perfect! I didn't like Cat's parents but now i understand why I didn't like them and it all made sense!
Dominic was the perfect character, strong, sexy, over powering, protective
Cat's character was brilliant she was vulnerable, clever, strong.
Oh and who could forget Rachel the sick, Minipulative, evil, twisted sister who died in Switzerland..... or did she???

I can't go into detail as it would simply ruin the plot but Forget Her Name is my Top Book this year so far!
I know it's early to say but I think this book is going to be a big hit!

I would like to make a point of saying that I loved that Jane has put in some very current issues into the story.... such as the NHS Crisis and the increasing need for Food Banks. So thank you for highlighting the reality of life!

This book does contain issues about mental health and sex scenes.

I read Forget Her Name in one night. It simply is addictive!
The best Pschological Thriller I've read in a while that completely threw me off guard!
I had absolutely no idea how it would end up or who it was.
Utterly Fantastic!!!

If you pick up one Pschological Thriller this month let it be Forget Her Name.
You won't be disappointed!

Thank you to Rachel Random Resources for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

What the hell was this, and why did I read it?!? Forget Her Name might have been one of the stupidest books I've read this year. It started off okay, but then it got really strange and disjointed, with characters behaving absurdly and the plot going all over the place. Added to that, the resolution of the mystery is essentially obvious about a third of the way through and the repetitive sex scenes are tedious and add nothing to the plot, except making the protagonist and her husband seem like nymphomaniacs and me feel unpleasantly like a voyeur. What a weird book! In hindsight, I am not even sure why I didn't just abandon it, but I did that with the new Sarah Pekkanen book a few days earlier and I suppose I felt I should stick to this one, a least it wasn't very long. Sadly, I cannot recommend this at all.

More of a 3 1/2 Stars for me...

Catherine is all set to marry Dominic when she receives a disturbing package in the mail. It's a snow globe that used to belong to her sister, Rachel who died on a family ski trip in Switzerland many years ago. Then other disturbing things begin to happen. Who is behind all this? What is really going on?

I like Jane Holland's writing a lot. There's a nice, easy flow to her words. I read her book, "Lock the door" and absolutely loved it. While I enjoyed this one something seemed to be missing for me. Maybe it was some of the characters. I really did not like Catherine's parents or Dominic. I also did not like the way some things were handled in the story...(I did not think it would happen like that in real life.) I sort of guessed about half way through what was really going on...although there were still some surprises to come. I must say though once I guessed the book just took off more dramatically. All the "craziness" just took hold! It certainly had some creepy/suspenseful moments. I had to keep reading to find out how it would all end...and boy was it ever a "twisted" ending!

I'd like to thank NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer Publishers for allowing me the opportunity to read this Advanced Reader Edition.

Jane Holland is not an author I have read before but having read some good reviews decided I would like to read it myself.
Catherine is enjoying preparing for her upcoming wedding to Dominic, but her excitement turns to horror when a package is delivered to her containing her sister Rachel's snow globe with an eyeball in it. This is followed by other odd occurrences and Catherine starts to wonder if her seriously disturbed sister Rachel is really dead.

I would like to thank Net Galley and Thomas & Mercer for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Catherine is getting married. An exciting time of plans and preparations with her beloved Dominic. What bliss. UNTIL a package is delivered to her containing her sister Rachel's snow globe. With an eyeball in it! This is exactly something Rachel would do. IF she were still alive!

Catherine would much rather thoughts of her seriously disturbed sister remain a thing of the past. But when strange occurrences keep happening, Catherine soon starts to question who could be tormenting her in such a cruel way. It may seem crazy, but is her sister truly dead?

What I thought :

Firstly, it is so refreshing to read a book that doesn't alternate between before and after chapters or chapters with different POV, the market is saturated with them. Writing the book this way greatly helped with the flow of the story, enhancing my curiosity, making me want to read just a tad more after finishing each chapter.

My interest certainly got piqued as all the disturbing incidents left me with more and more questions the further along I read. Though, the buildup and pace for me was still on the slow side until around the 70% mark, where the major twist is revealed and the pieces of the puzzle begin to fit together. But don't fret about this reveal. There is much more excitement to come as things get a lot more heated and interesting. We are given some answers here that I initially thought was clichéd, but don't let that put you off. The author does a great job of giving the reader a fresh take on this concept. Don't fool yourself into thinking this will be a predictable read from here on out.

From this point on, the story picked up at a roaring speed, spicing things up with delectable and unexpected twists and revelations that soon tied up the story very cleverly. Even if the final development between Catherine and Dominic seemed improbable, I was happy to suspend belief in this instance.

The complex, multilayered characters were spot on. Most of them not very likeable, but the author nailed it with slowly divulging why they are the way the are. My suspicions were vigorously stirred up as I doubted and questioned each one of them at one stage or another.

If you're into unnerving, disturbing psychological thrillers that builds up suspense until the twisty, unanticipated conclusion, with intricate, complex characters, why not give this one a go. I challenge you to see if you can discover the truth before our protagonist does.

Many thanks to Netgalley, Thomas & Mercer as well as Jane Holland for an ARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion of this book.

I couldn't imagine volunteering at a food bank and receiving a package holding my dead sister's snow globe... with a not quite so pleasant surprise held within. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what got me hooked. I actually even remember getting a little smile on my face and questioning my taste in loving the macabre. (Just kidding, I never question my love for that! 😉)

This book is a PAGE TURNER! Read in one sitting, I consistently needed to know what was going to happen. Now, as someone who reads psychological thrillers all the time, I figured out the big twist early on. What I love? Is that it's revealed with about a quarter of the book left! WHAT?! I liked that it wasn't just about the twist and done. Oh no, readers... Jane Holland took you even further and then made a lingering thought in my head come to life. For that, I give her the tip of my hat.

I am having a little bit of a love/dislike relationship with the ending, however. I love that it's unexpected in it's own right... and I dislike that it went there too! I may need to amend this review once my feelings decide on which way to go. 🤣 Quite frankly, if an author can make me question myself, well then I give full props!

This gritty and deceptive page turner will keep lovers of psychological thrillers highly entertained. Join Catherine in her quest to figure out if her sister is really alive. Can you figure it out before she does? 😈

“All true, of course. I can’t deny my posh accent or my privileged background. But there are things they don’t know about me, too. Things long-buried and forgotten about.”
― Jane Holland, Forget Her Name

I have a theory.

My theory is the writer just decided to go all out for this one and bring the batshit crazy, ramping it as high as possible. Now I could be wrong. But then again..I could be right.

This book is about Catherine. She is receiving creepy things in the mail, like Eyeballs and snow globes and thinks her dead psychotic sister Rachel maybe sending them to her. Because she does not believe Rachel is actually dead.

Catherine is also getting married and she finds her wedding dressed desecrated by some Nutter. What's a bride to do?

Could Rachel..an evil little child be secretly alive? Is it her husband to be? Her mom and dad who are strangely secretive about her little darling of a sister? How about Cat herself? Could she..is she..a Nutter, who is sending herself this crap and playing other pranks that are getting more and more creepy?

Honestly? You maybe tempted to DNF this one. I was. But don't. It is so bizarre it actually becomes almost entertaining. And though I did not love it, it sure gave me an interesting night of reading.

There are times the book almost seems to be a parody of itself if that makes any sense. At the end of the day, I must admit it was quite the bizarre little tale that certainly kept my attention and the ending is mind blowing. This one is not for the squeamish though and even though, there are a couple of scenes where animal torture is discussed..it..how do I say this without giving spoilers? I would just say no. Ignore. Didn't happen. No cat s died even though cats dying are alluded too. But..don't believe it.

So for people who like their stories to come with a touch of twisted and enjoy reading about multiple Nutters and crazy shit happening on every page, yes this is the book for you. Man, this is a twisted one!

Thank You Dita for making me aware of this crazy train.

Wow!

The book begins with Catherine and Dominic about to be married. Then one day at the food bank where she volunteers a suspicious package arrives for Catherine with no forwarding address. Inside is a snow globe but this isn't just any snow globe. It's her dead sister Rachel's snow globe from childhood. Within the snow globe she see's an eyeball staring back at her. How and why would someone send this to her? Visibly shaken she hides it from Dominic. She doesn't want to explain to him that her sister was a violent psychopath in case he should get cold feet from marrying her. Then more and more sinister things keep happening and it becomes impossible to keep her secrets hidden any longer.

I was reading this book and enjoying myself thinking this will more than likely be a solid 3 /3.5 stars but then you hit the 70% mark and that's when you realize that you have officially hit CRAZY TOWN and I mean that in the best way possible! Jane Holland really cranks it up at the end and I couldn't flip the damn pages fast enough. While a twist is revealed at the 70% mark that I had already figured out, I promise you, just keep reading. The best twist is yet to come! 4.5 stars!

This is one book where I felt I was Sherlock Holmes, or rather the female, diluted version, of less brilliant and less intelligent one, minus the cheekbones of Benedict Cumberbatch too. I looked at all the characters with doubt and suspicion, holding a magnifying glass to minutely check their words… And I doubted the main character too… She didn’t appear intelligent… Could be a foil to divert my attention.

Ten years ago, Cat’s sister Rachel died in a skiing accident in Switzerland, or so she was told. Close to her wedding day, in the present time, Catherine received Rachel’s snow globe with a cow’s eyeball in it , her wedding dress was sniped into pieces with splashes of pig’s blood, and plenty of other incidences. The story unfolded further

Is Rachel alive?? What were the parents hiding?? Was Rachel’s husband Dominic guilty?? But guilty of what?? Murder, suspicion, infidelity??

This is my first book by Jane Holland, and I must agree that the author blew me away with the air of suspicion in the entire book. I loved the way she made me hate all the characters. There was this spooky wind of doubt which blew through the pages; was Rachel alive? It kept the interest in the book burning bright till the last page.

The only niggle for me was the main character, Cat was not too bright or street smart, she was also too dependent on her parents for money, she volunteered at a food bank, without supplementing her income with a job. She also was pretty illogical in all her decisions. But soon I realized the electric, breathtaking strategy behind this insecure main character.

Jane Holland has raised the book to a fevered pitch in the last 30% which is nothing short of amazing. The twists in the psyche, the turn of the pace, the play of characters had me viewing Jane Holland in awe…

I had a faint inkling of the end, but the words of the author made me forget that and just go on to enjoying the book till the last page. A highly enjoyable read.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and publisher Thomas & Mercer, and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Catherine’s sister Rachel died on a skiing holiday as a child. Rachel wasn’t the best sister ever. She was cruel, vicious and a psychopath in the making who made Catherine’s life a living hell. Years later, Catherine is preparing to get married when she starts receiving taunting messages relating to Rachel. But from whom? And why? Catherine doesn’t remember much about the holiday in Switzerland or the day her sister died. Could her parents have lied to her all these years? Is Rachel still alive?

Well now, this one took me totally by surprise. If you follow my blog, then you know I read quite a lot of psychological thrillers and it’s getting harder for authors to surprise me. So quite early on, I was convinced I knew exactly what was going on and I was reading on, all smug-like, thinking this story was going to be incredibly predictable, when boom! Where the heck did that come from? And that’s all I’ll say about that. The less you know about the plot the better, so you can have your own boom moment. 😄

None of these characters were particularly likeable. I especially had issues with Catherine’s parents, although as the story goes on, the reasons for their odd behaviour are somewhat understandable. Yet all of them were brilliantly multi-layered and complex and I had no idea if any of them were trustworthy.

I must say, that ending though. I don’t normally mention those but this one has me insanely conflicted. It’s one of those “holy cow, I can’t believe you went there!” moments and I’m still trying to figure out whether I like it or not. Mind blown! I love it when that happens!

Despite me (wrongly) thinking I had this whole thing sussed, I was still utterly gripped and glued to the pages. Forget Her name is incredibly addictive and you’ll want to make sure you have the time to read this in one sitting. There’s a wonderfully dark and disturbing vibe, the suspense doesn’t let up at all and you’ll find yourself flipping the pages faster as you go. If you enjoy your psychological thrillers, I have no doubt you’ll like this thoroughly entertaining and twisty story!

This is my first read by this author and it certainly won’t be my last as I loved this story.

Catherine’s happy. Her life is good and she’s about to get married. Everything changes when she receives a package, a snow globe that belonged to her deceased sister. More strange things happen. Is she going crazy? Is her sister really dead?

This is truly a gripping read. From start to finish I kept trying to work out what was happening. The twists and turns had me second guessing what I was thinking.
A fantastic page turner that had me gripped from start to finish. I highly recommend this book.

I have no idea how on earth I am supposed to describe this book, but I will say I was gripped from the start and read it in 3 hours flat, without pausing except to tell mum to stop talking at me as there was only 10% left..and that yes I had started it at dinner time!!

The first of my "OMG WTF" moments came at the end of the first chapter, and it was one of many. For over half the book I wax utterly convinced I had cracked what was happening, but evidently I was wrong and thankfully don't have the dark depths to my being to even contemplate just how many layers are in this book that have been crafted so carefully that you are literally guessing and unsure as to the potential ending the entire time.

I would love to tell you about the book but given what I now know, there is very little I can say that won't give potential hints as to the plot and what may be crucial, or a double bluff or something else at any given time.

Regardless it was an immensely cleverly crafted story with some truly memorable characters. Forget Her Name is a book that got under my skin, I didn't particularly find it creepy, although in places it was slightly disturbing.

I had a lot of empathy for the main character, especially when seeing how others were reacting to her various claims. It was like there was a mystery wrapped up in a psychological drama, that just works on so many levels.

I truly believe this could be Jane Holland's best book so far and I've read quite a few of them. It has everything you want in this sort of book, and a premise that I haven't seen before, at least not in this way.

Absolutely amazing, ultimately I dare you to Forget Her Name after you see what she has been through in this book, I bet you won't be able to!

Thank you to Netgalley and Thomas & Mercer for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

2 Disappointing Stars

I really wanted to love this brit-lit thriller but sadly did not!

SUMMARY
Catherine is happily engaged to Dominic, working as volunteer at a food bank and busy planning her wedding. Everything is going her way until strange, scary things start to happen to her. These strange scary things remind her of the kind of strange scary things her sister Rachel used to do to her. The thing is, Rachel is dead and has been for over 10 years. Who is trying to scare Catherine and why?

WHAT I LOVED
• Brit Lit!!! I love stories with a British setting. I did the immersion reading with both the book and audio. Loved the accent on the audio.

• Excellent premise. The beginning of this story was chilling and had me reading until late into the night.

WHAT I DIDN’T LOVE
• The premise was great. I loved the idea of it but not the execution. I just didn’t “get” any of the characters. Almost every single reaction each of the characters had in response to each situation was the total opposite of how I would have reacted. They read situations the complete opposite way I did. It just didn't make any sense to me. I could NOT relate. I found it odd how Catherine seemed to randomly choose people to confide certain things to but excluded them from other confidences. The 'love' story got kind of weird and creepy.

• Some part were very predictable.

• I got pretty darn annoyed with all the characters about 1/2 way or 2/3 through. I really couldn’t stand any of them and or any of the choices they were making. But the ending just made me roll my eyes!!!! So weird and unlikely.

OVERALL
Clearly I’m in the minority but I did not like it.

Is love all that matters though? Is love enough? No matter who you are and what you’ve done?

What a thrilling ride! I was so excited when I got approved for an ARC of this book, because the cover along with the title and description really drew me in. I haven’t read this author before but as soon as I started the book, I was sucked in by the story and couldn’t wait to read more.

The characters are well fleshed-out and I absolutely loved the situation they find themselves in. The book was atmospheric, tinged with darkness and that dreadful feeling that something bad was going to happen, like a ticking timebomb. It’s one of those books you can’t put down at all until you’ve put all the pieces of the puzzle together.

The mystery and twists, albeit a little predictable, still managed to surprise and when all the details were laid out together I finally saw the real story before me. It was masterfully told and wrapped up so the reader absolutely had to know the truth. I’d be very surprised to see people DNF-ing this, because it’s so compulsively readable!

I struggled a little bit with the predictability – I think it was fairly obvious what the twist was, but the author did a good job of adding a storyline I never would have imagined, although I wish it had been a little more fleshed out.

All in all, a thrilling read that keeps you on the edge of your seat and will NOT let go until you’ve turned the final page.

Would recommend to: fans of domestic noir, authors such as Shari Lapena, Gillian Flynn and so on. If you loved this book I would also recommend checking out more offerings from this publisher! They have some amazing thrillers (and you can find a lot of them on NetGalley).

What The Hell!!!!! this is a good what the hell by the way. I was only going to read a few chapters of this book and then crack on with a bit of housework….. yeah right….. read the book and left the housework 🙂 So where to start with this book, Catherine is just weeks away from getting married to Dominic when she starts getting odd things sent to her. Catherine had an older sister who had died, but then had a snow globe that was her sisters sent to her, this is only the start of things. Rachel and her death was something that Catherine’s parents never discussed properly with her, but now maybe it is the time for finding out the truth.

This is such a wonderful read. Half way through I had worked the book out and was just going along for the ride. Worked it out, well in my head I had, but the author had other ideas about that. I was so way off the mark, and loved being taken on the journey that had me guessing, kept me riveted and intrigued. The plot takes you along a road that seems quite normal, but then you realise this is all an illusion, you have actually ended up on a deep, dark and twisted path, the author has you where she wants you right from the off. The creative and imaginative plot is full of surprises and suspense, Jane only lets you know where the plot is going when she is ready to reveal all.

The characters are memorable and well described and have been used in an imaginative way, they compliment as well as contrast each other. There are class differences between Catherine and Dominic and the author has dipped into that aspect really well. The pace of this started along quite nicely as we learn the details of the characters, but before long it speeds to a really great page turner pace.

This is my first experience reading Jane’s books and she has blown me away with this one, it is amazingly twisted and addictive. A powerful, well written book that explores dark psychological drama.

This is a book I Highly Recommend those who like a tense, suspenseful drama that sows seeds of doubt into the reader. A clever psychological read that has many good twists and feels very different to other books I have read in this genre.

Rachel’s dead and she’s never coming back. Or is she?

As she prepares for her wedding to Dominic, Catherine has never been happier or more excited about her future. But when she receives an anonymous package—a familiar snow globe with a very grisly addition—that happiness is abruptly threatened by secrets from her past.

Her older sister, Rachel, died on a skiing holiday as a child. But Rachel was no angel: she was vicious and highly disturbed, and she made Catherine’s life a misery. Catherine has spent years trying to forget her dead sister’s cruel tricks. Now someone has sent her Rachel’s snow globe—the first in a series of ominous messages…

While Catherine struggles to focus on her new life with Dominic, someone out there seems intent on tormenting her. But who? And why now? The only alternative is what she fears most.

Is Rachel still alive?

My thoughts
Five stars
This one makes you think and drought yourself while your reading it, because it kind of plays with your mind. You start to ask yourself is Rachel alive or not, is it her or not . And so on, with that said I would love to say thinks to Netgalley for giving me a chance at reading it in a change for my honest opinion.

This is a book that messes with your mind!! In a good but twisted way!

This is the story of Cat, from a privileged upbringing, volunteering at a food bank, and preparing for her wedding to Dominic who is a nurse. Life all seems pretty settled for her, until she receives a rather chilling 'gift' in the post from her past and her whole world is thrown into chaos as she begins to doubt the past.

Her sister, Rachel, died on a skiing holiday as a child and although the event was traumatic, the family rarely spoke of it as her sister was no angel. With these strange occurences it seems that there was more to the Rachel story than her parents told her and Cat is left going out of her mind trying to figure out what happened, and why someone is trying to rock the boat. She is questioning her sanity, and her family question it too as they grow increasingly concerned over her behaviour and worries.

I found this to be a very unsettling read full of twists that I never saw coming, and really well paced and quite dark!! Also loved that it was partly set in Hanwell, Ealing as that was where my nan lived so I could easily picture the location!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the e-arc in return for an honest review.

FORGET HER NAME by Jane Holland is a twisted, gripping, novel that will have you on the edge of your seat, doubting yourself throughout, and it will also give you a cramp in your hand as I am telling you now, you will not be able to put it down until you reach the very end.

It is a wonderful time in Catherine's life as she is planning her dream wedding and future with the man of her dreams, Dominic. But when she receives a package in the post related to her sister, Rachel, who died years ago, it threatens everything that Catherine holds dear. As the torment continues, Catherine needs to know who is doing this to her, and why. Could Rachel still be alive?

I do not want to say too much about this riveting plot as you really must read it for yourself but suffice to say I LOVED this story. With so many twists and turns, I was sure I had it figured out when suddenly something would happen and I was back to square one again. This psychological thriller is perfectly paced and I became deeply invested in what was happening and was desperate to uncover the truth.

FORGET HER NAME by Jane Holland is a must-read for thriller fans and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author.

WOW!

Forget Her Name is a twisty turny book that I’m not going to forget in a while. It’s the type of book, where you think you kind of have an inkling of what is to come and where you think it may head….. Chances are though, you will be like me and get it completely wrong.

Jane Holland has written the story so well that you aren’t really sure what to believe. Just as you think the story is going down one route, the rug is completely pulled from under you as you hurtle towards another conclusion.

This book is easily a book that you find yourself reading in one sitting as you begin to doubt what you’ve learnt, racing from chapter to chapter. You feel empathy for Catherine, the main character as she prepares for her wedding to Dominic, whilst the shadow of the death of her older sister Rachel, when they were children, looms over her. Is she just becoming overwhelmed or is something more sinister afoot? Is there more to Rachel’s death than meets the eye?

It’s hard to go into more detail without spoiling the plotline but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend to people who enjoy the surprise twists and turns of a pyschological thriller.

I can’t wait to read more by Jane Holland as if all her books are as good as this one……

A chilling psychological thriller that plays with your mind. Catherine is volunteering in a food bank when she receives a parcel. It contains her dead sisters snow globe from when they were children however there is something inside it. Things soon get worse and she has to tell her fiance Dominic whom to date she has only told certain things about Rachel- the dead sister - as the rest is too horrific for her to even think about and she doesn’t want to put him off before the wedding. This is so well written that it grabs you from the start. A rather sinister plot that gave me the creeps a little in parts but kept me reading wanting to find out more. I read this in two sittings- it gripped me so much I couldn’t put it down. I won’t give anything away other than to say expect the unexpected. Expect your mind to be confused and go around in circles. You think you have it sussed and then another twist and turn. One you will be thinking about long after you have read it. A well written, very different, compelling read.

Wow! Wow! And yet another Wow! This book had me going through hoops trying to work out what the hell was going on! There are twists galore and so many red herrings that I was getting really annoyed with myself that I couldn’t predict what was going to happen……and by the time I got to the end I realised why!! It’s such a cleverly crafted book that it will keep you guessing throughout, I guarantee!

When we first meet Catherine she is a happy bride to be, engaged to the gorgeous Dominic and looking forward to married life. She has wealthy parents and with no real need to work, she volunteers at the local food bank. We know from the prologue that her sister Rachel died in a skiing accident but that, although she was so distressed at the time, Catherine was relieved to be free from Rachel’s nasty and vindictive behaviour. So when she receives a parcel that contains something that belonged to her older sister, she is shocked to find a nasty surprise hidden within. More incidents occur and Catherine realises that they are all linked to her dead sister. But what happened on that tragic ski holiday? Is Rachel really behind these increasingly vicious incidents? Catherine is determined to discover the truth at any cost!

I love a twisty book! In fact, the twistier the better for me as I love to be challenged and Forget Her Name was one of the twistiest I have read for some time! I physically couldn’t stop reading it and I have to say that my jaw firmly hit the floor when the plot finally came together! In fact, there were so many “what the hell did I just read?” moments that I often stopped to re-read certain bits just to make sure I had totally understood! Apart from that though, I raced through Forget Her Name, completely gripped by it’s multifaceted storyline, desperate for the pieces of the puzzle to finally fall into place.

I have read a few books by Jane Holland before but this has definitely been my favourite so far. It’s a dark and often disturbing psychological thriller full of interesting and complex characters that I found fascinating to watch as they interacted with each other. I rather felt like Catherine herself at times, trusting no-one and questioning everything I was told. Forget Her Name is a highly addictive page turner that I’m convinced you won’t forget in a hurry!

I started this in the early hours and have just finished it. If I could have sat and read with no interruptions, I’d have been happy as I didn’t want to leave Catherine, Dominic and her parents.
I thought the parents a bit strange, and over protective of Catherine, but they must have had their reasons.
I love books that creep me out and keep me guessing, and this book is full of red herrings and brilliant creepy characters!
I really felt for Catherine, I was on her side and at times I felt a bit frustrated on her behalf. Why take it out on her, a normal young woman, settled with Dominic and just wanting to help others who were less fortunate than her…
I loved the twists and turns and have to say that it was expertly plotted. I liked how it turned out, quite emotional, a bit weird - I loved it!!
This author cannot put a thought or a word wrong in my eyes. So worthy of 5+ ⭐️

Rachel is dead and gone. She can’t hurt you anymore.

Or can she?

Catherine’s sister Rachel died when they were children, but nobody has ever told her the details of what happened... and strangely, nobody has ever talked about her since. Catherine’s memories of Rachel are not good; Rachel’s behaviour was often extremely cruel and disturbed. But she’s gone, and Cat’s future with fiancé Dominic looks bright. Cat volunteers at a food bank, much to the mystification of her wealthy parents, and Dominic works as an A&E nurse. But as Cat prepares for her wedding, someone is tormenting her... in ways very reminiscent of Rachel.

Why does nobody seem to believe her, and who can Cat really trust... her husband? Her parents? Herself?

This is a very intriguing, thought-provoking and unpredictable read which kept me guessing throughout as to what was really going on... though my theories were constantly changing! Every time I thought I knew what was going on, the rug was pulled right out from under me... I guessed the first major twist, but only seconds before it was revealed. Particularly towards the end of the story, the twists and turns come thick and fast and the book is very hard to put down.

The plot is very ingenious and cleverly constructed. I did worry near the beginning, due to something that happens early on, whether the story was going to be too grisly for me. But thankfully that proved not to be the case.

Definitely a recommended read.

I absolutely loved this thriller! As Catherine prepares to marry Dominic, the love of her life, she begins receiving odd and frightening "gifts" that reawaken memories of her sister, Rachel who died when she was young. Haunted by these visions, Catherine is determined to discover what really happened and why her parents are keeping these secrets from her. I was certain I had it figured it out but I had motives and secrets all wrong! Each page kept me gasping with surprise and suspense. Great sassy characters, snappy dialogue, and breakneck pacing all combine to make this an unputdownable novel! Will definitely read more by this author!

Ooooh this one was soooo good!!

I was gripped as soon as the story started, I had seen a few reviews from other people that had read the book so I was really keen to get started and I can say now I certainly wasn't disappointed!

The characters were very good, the plot was great and the pace was spot on for the story. I loved the way the suspense built and you were guessing what would happen next - a very well written story - five stars from me - very, very highly recommended!!!
