After Billionaire Aiden Walker lost his entire family in a tragic plane crash fourteen months ago, he wanted nothing more than to be left alone, so much that he fired his entire staff in exchange for his solitude.
To make it worse, he mourned his loss by drowning himself in booze at a small bar on the wrong side of town, where the local bartender became his only friend.
So just when he thinks life couldn’t get any worse, one of the families involved in the tragic accident, which also took their son, is determined to ruin him with a lawsuit that could take his sprawling Savannah estate.
Lexa Patterson has been ignored by her parents since her brother’s death and was forced to deal with the pain alone until she meets someone who is worse off than her.
When Aiden leaves his friend’s bar drunk, he crashes his motorcycle and ends up in Lexa’s ER which proves too tempting when she finds out who he is.
She has to get to know him but knows if she tells him who she is, she’ll blow her cover.
The two fall into bed, but will her lies destroy any chance for love once Aiden learns who she is?
Aiden and Lexa are both still reeling from tragedies that brought devastation and grief to their doorsteps. Connected only by disaster at first, until fate brings them together in a chance meeting.
Aiden ends up in Lexa’s ER needing to be fixed up and she immediately wants to make sure he’s doing okay. Not just from his most recent accident, but his life in general. They’re both still grieving and from outward appearances, Aiden is really struggling to get back on his feet.
Her parents are doing the unthinkable and suing Aiden for a ridiculous amount of money (that they don’t need) and trying to blame him for an accident that he had nothing to do with. Lexa is disgusted by her parents and tries to convince them to drop their frivolous suit, but they are greedy, despicable people who won’t be swayed.
As Lexa befriends Aiden, she wishes more and more that her parents would back off. Aiden and Lexa are very attracted to each other and he wants to date her, but she’s trying to keep her distance so that he doesn’t find out who she really is. There’s only so much resistance she can put up though when she’s so genuinely enamoured with Aiden.
As they become more and more intimate, it becomes harder and harder to find the right time to reveal her secret. She’s hanging on to the hope that their feelings will be strong enough to overcome such a huge betrayal, but she knows it’s unlikely. The more likely situation is that she will be left broken hearted and alone after lying and misleading the first man she’s ever let into her heart.
Great star-crossed lovers romance. The feud between the families really adds tension and complication to their situation. The chemistry between Aiden and Lexa was powerful and the steamy scenes were divine! The last bit of the book was pretty stressful and angsty, but I loved it. I really wasn’t sure how it was going to come out of the wash.
I really liked the characters (except the female lead plus familiy) and the plot but the female lead was just a desaster waiting to happen. I understand that you need to have a certain setting to create a base for the plot to happen but her acting was just plain annoying ..... Hence my weired rating...
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader's copy of this book. Generously giving this 3 stars. This book had a good plot, but the flow was very slow, I thought it dragged way too much which didn't help hold my attention. I really wasn't inspired by the main characters, Aiden or Lexa, I can't say for sure why. I liked the idea conveyed in the story that everyone greaves differently, since that's so true in real life. I didn't like that Lexa jumps into sex on the first "date" with Aiden. The whole relationship didn't feel like real love to me.
After the traumatic loss of his parents and sister, Aiden lost himself in grief. Ensuring all the house staff were recompensed, her let them go, and had his family's mansion to himself, to wollow in his drunken stupor, trying to forget all that he he had lost. Fourteen months after the plane crash that had taken his family, his former housekeeper turns up and starts cleaning the house. Giving him an earful, she continues on each day, and Aiden starts to see how bad his place had gotten. Then the straw to break the camel's back, the Patterson family was suing for yhe loss of their son's life. He gets on his bike, after avoiding his friend Glenn's attempt to stop him riding drunk. You guessed it, he crashed and ended up in hospital, with a little nurse who wouldn't take his lip. She drove hom home after his discharge, and finally he had an interest in someone. However, Lexa had a secret, one which was going cause havoc when revealed. Okay, it is a good story and you need to read it in full, just as the author has written it. Plus: there are 4 more stories in this one purchase. WOW how's that for value!!!
BONUS :Rock Star Billionaire Okay, this so sweet and sappy, it had me reading all night. A lead vocals of a band that had decided on a come back, after five years, off the charts, was also the CEO of a recording label, that had made him a Billionaire., was concerned about the stress the upcoming road trip would put on him, if he had to juggle both record label and tour co-ordination. The idea of a administration person, on tour to do the following up work was touted, and women interviewed. Nalia was the person who caught his eye when reviewing resumes and she was the one that shone through the interview. However, his interest was in the woman, as much as the administrator side of things. They had a buzz between them, but the madness of groupies , time schedules and lack of privacy in a bus with 4 band members and this one girl may be the hardest thing either of them had done. As I started of this piece, it really is a fantastic story.
Billionaire Rides : I had read this particular book before and found it entertaining.
Boss's Virgin This book I also had read, previously. This is part of my review from the book's page.
When you start to read this book, you feel as though it is just another story about an arrogant womanizer, who goes after any thing with a skirt. However, I changed my mind, after reading all night, a story that had depth and dimension to it. The young girl Daisy was depicted as young and naive, and because of her lack of worldly experience, it appears that the other male characters related to her. Because of her in experience and ease of which she was willing to relate., it appears that this is the secret of her charm.
Roomies This story has a very warped sense of humor, especially in the early chapters, but then the two main characters start to get into each other, and the book becomes very romantic. It does give New Yorkers a bit of a attitude, and I don't know, from reading some of the stuff that appears to be every day type occurance, whether I would want to go to NYC. Anyway, I read this as a bonus book within the "Billionaire Beast" and have voluntarily submitted this review. I did enjoy the book, and if you can get over the raunchy sex activities, and language, to see that, is after all, part of the characters' make up.
The Escort
Dr Churchill is a young doctor practicing oncology in the local hospital, by day, and acting as a paid escort by night. That is until he is asked to escort one of his patients out. The following saga is involved and very entertaining, but best read as the author intended. I did throughly enjoy this story.
Co Stars
Two actors come together on the set of a Hollywood movie, and all the madness that is about celebrities and their lives.
Aiden is a billionaire who withdrew from life after the death of his family. He let the staff go and is hiding out in his family's house. He spends his nights getting drunk and days recovering from hangovers. His house is a dump and he seldom eats. One night he is biking home from the bar drunk, when he gets into an accident and is taken to the ER. One of the nurses there is Lexa and she feels really bad for him. She tries to take care of him because she feels guilty. Lexa's family was broken since her brother's death in an accident. Her mother basically ignore her and her dad smothers her. Now her family is taking a step she disapproves of. They have decided to sue the family who involved in her brother's death even though there was a settlement. Lexa knows the case is unfair because there is no real evidence of wrong doing. She feels that the only remaining family member is suffering enough. When Aiden is brought into her ER , she is drawn to help him. She doesn't let Aiden's grief blind her to the fact he has given up. She taunts him and pushes him into coming back to life. Their relationship grows but what will happen when he finds out who she really is? This is a good book about overcoming grief and guilt. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.
I have read several of the billionaires book and I must say this was one of my favorites. Aiden is trying to deal with the death of his entire family. He doesn't want to be close to anyone or deal with anyone except the bartender at the local dive who has befriended him. Lexa lost her brother in the same accident and she too is having a hard time dealing with his death and the way her parents are dealing with Shawn's death. When Lexa, an Er nurse, meets Aiden after a motorcycle accident she is immediately drawn to him. His gruff style does not put her off. She knows how her brother's death effected her and she can't imagine what he is feeling having lost everyone he loves. The two are attracted to each other and begin a relationship but Aiden has no idea who Lexa really is. The author gives us a glimpse into the heartache that can consume us when we lose someone and how our lives change when that one person comes into our lives that helps us to see that all may not be lost. You can feel the pain that both Lexa and Aiden feel and the need to find someone who will understand. You also feel the struggle and pain when Aiden finds out who Lexa is and her pain at loosing him. I was given this book in return for an honest voluntary review
This book has it all sadness, happiness and conflict. Aiden Walker is a Billionaire who lost his family in an airplane accident. He has been drinking himself stupid for the past 14 months to forget. One night he makes the mistake to drink and ride and gets into and accident where he meets Lexa.
Lexa Patterson is a nurse at a ER and is dealing with losing her brother to an airplane accident 14 months ago. Now her parents want to sue for money because they feel they are owed. One night this motorcycle accident victim comes in and finds out that's its Aiden Walker. Lexa decides to stay with him and help him even though he's being a complete jerk. Over the next few weeks Aiden and Lexa feel draqn to one another and start seeing one another. He still doesn't know who she really is. Will she ever tell him who she really is? Will talk her parents out of the lawsuit? Do they get their HEA?
This is an ARC, meaning I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a beautiful story that even from the most terrible of tragedies, recovery of loss is possible and morph the memories into wonderful legacies. It also opens the opportunities for love to enter. The author, Claire Adams, has written a very touching story about two people, Aiden and Alexi who meet in ER and deal with the aftermath of a two family tragedy together. Their own relationship is on rocky ground due to the question; Is this relationship based only on sexual attraction and gratification? More importantly the vulnerability lays with a lie that in the end must be revealed, processed, and hopefully come out on the other side stronger before their HEA blooms. I highly recommend this story for its strong writing and well developed characters. You won't regret it. Enjoy!
Two families destroyed by one tragedy - is it possible for love to grow from such a disastrous beginning? Aiden is hiding from his grief by climbing into a bottle each day, until it lands him in the ER where he meets Lexa, who is also grieving a recent loss. Lexa helps Aiden find his way again, while keeping her connection to his family's tragedy a secret for as long as she can. Their chemistry is off the charts and their love threatens them both with happiness, but will it survive the truth? Lots of deep, soul-searching angst and gut-wrenching moments in this story, but it all comes together as a triumph of a love that conquers every corner of the darkness. Claire Adams is a truly gifted author, bringing such vividly complex characters to life and taking the reader on a beautifully-written journey of loss and hope and redemption. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Aiden lost his parents and sister in a plane crash, he hasn't been the same since. It's like he gave up on life, just living through it. Until the day he found some bad news. He was being sued by the family of his sisters boyfriend Shawn who also past. He was drinking and driving his motorcycle, and ends up in the ER being taken care of by Lexa. Less is falling for Aiden, but she's hiding a major secret. She Shawns sister. Love this book. This book says it includes four additional books. It actually has Five. The first extra book is called Rock star billionaire with Owen and Nalia. The Second extra book is called Boss's Virgin with Ian and Daisy. The third extra book is called Roomies with Dane and Leila. The fourth extra book is called Escort with Jace and Grace. The last extra book is called Costars with Damian and Emma.
Claire has done it yet again. She's created something with her words that have pretty much left me speechless. This couple has lost so much, and for them to have found a way to console one another is amazing...except the little lie that stands between them. Lexa never knew their relationship would go any further than a night, if that...but when things start getting serious, she's too afraid to come out and tell bother her parents and Aiden the truth about what's going on. She's fallen for Aiden, but he doesn't know who she really is and knows it will destroy their love. I've cried, screamed internally, and melted all the way through this book and didn't want to put it down at all. Hope everyone loves it as much as I have. I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
There is Aiden, who's whole family was killed in a plane crash and now he is overcome with grief and anger. Then there is Lexa, who's brother was on the plane when Aiden's family plane crashed with no survivors. When they meet after a motorcycle accident there is an attraction to each other. Lexa wants to help Aiden. Lexa's parents want to sue him for all he is worth. She has not told him who she is and while the attraction grows, she is afraid she will lose him Will she? You'll need to read the book to find out. This is one of the better books I have read from Claire Adams. I enjoyed it and hope you do as well.
I voluntarily reviewed this book from an advance copy.
Another hit by Claire Adams. In this story we delve into the darkness that is grief and how different people cope with it in different ways. It is an emotional rollercoaster of loss, death, joy, betrayl and love. Couldn't put this one down, great read. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Hero, Aiden = 5/5 Heroine, Lexi = 5/5 Chemistry = 5/5 Sex = 5/5 Plot = 3/5 Mystery = 2/5 Action = 1/5 Darkness = 2/5 Humor = 2/5 POV = dual Would I recommend this book = yes Would I re-read this book = yes Would I read future books by this author = yes
I try not to miss an opportunity to read a Claire Adams book. Billionaire beast was such an emotional read it tugged at my heartstrings. Aiden lost his family in a plane crash and wasn't handling it well. Lexa lost her brother in that same crash. Her parents already got Insurance money but couldn't move past the pain. And decided to sue for more. Lexa has a huge heart and thought her parents were wrong. Fate brought the pair together and time will tell how they end. Loved it and recommend this read. I used KU and voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.
This was a good story but predictable. Lexa and Aiden both know loss. Lexa lost her brother and Aiden lost his mother, father and sister in the same plane crash. Aiden hasn't been the same and when an accident lands him in the ER that's where he meets Lexa. Lexa & Aiden needed each other to get through their grieve but a lie could destroy them. They fall for each other pretty quickly but what Aiden learns devastate him. I did enjoy the story and characters and the ending was really sweet.
I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book
Aiden lost his while family in a tragic plane crash . Lexa lost her brother in the same crash . Aiden decides to escape into his grief by firing all the staff at the house & drinking! Lexa buries herself in her emergency nurse job & avoiding her parents as much as possible. It's working for both of them until he ends up in her er & her heart goes out to him, if only she could tell him the truth about who she really is! It's not her fault that her parents are suing him over her brother's death!
I thought, after going through the first two chapters, that I was going to like this book. Unfortunately, it just didn't work for me. I liked the plot line, but there was something off between the characters and the plot. Nothing meshed the way I wanted it to. The characters that I found good in the beginning and the plot, that I felt the same about, just didn't live up to my expectations. They seemed to go flat half way through the book, almost like the book was written but there was no heart to it.
Grab this awesome read today! Claire Adams has gifted us with another remarkable tale of love, loss, and hope after horrific loss. The storyline is gripping; the characters' pain becomes your pain; and the journey to the HEA is fraught with issues. You have to read this book...it will take you on a roller coaster of emotions--grab tissues...you'll need them. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and definitely wish I could give it way more than 5 stars!!) ❤️
Another great read by Claire Adams. I love how all of these books are written and the characters in each and every one of her books are developed so very well. This one is about Aiden and Lexa. Two people who have both been through so much. Both of their souls need to be healed, can they find a way to help each other? I can tell you that this book will get you from the get go. You will not be disappointed. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.
My Husband now can predict when a story touches me so much that I'm quietly weeping while reading that the book just earned 5 stars. I was blown away by this book, so much emotion and forgiveness and love, just leaves you with that feeling that no words can convey how much you enjoyed reading. So my final word has to be Wow. I was honored to have been lucky to read an ARC copy when I volunteered. You won't be disappointed in my opinion.
I'm really enjoying this series and this tale of Aiden and Lexi is by far my favourite so far. Both of these two are connected and struggling with loss of family in very differing ways. It's only when Lexi realises who Aiden is that we wonder if these two will have a HEA but I can assure you that Claire works her magic and keeps us on an emotional ride you can't put down until you finish the final page.
Certainly worth reading!

This is romance at its best, with a handsome and trouble billionaire and the woman that loved him know matter what. These are the books that take you on a magic carpet ride with the hope you will find your own HEA.The author did and amazing job of making us fall in love with her characters and wishing them well.Great job Claire Adams,I will keep reading and you keep writing.
Aiden isn't really a beast, he is just working through the deaths of his parents and sister. Lexa is more beastly since her brother died in the same accident. She's afraid to tell him because his parents are suing him and trying to take away his mother's house. Slowly, but surely, they fall and Lexa is even more afraid of his reaction. She knows he loves her. But, will his love be enough to overcome his feelings of betrayal?I A really intricate tale that unravels slowly as the two characters try to work their problems out.
I really enjoyed reading this book. There was a lot of turmoil and anguish that Aiden had to work his way through when he lost his family. Lexa had a hard time working through her own turmoil and anguish. When they meet, they find that they help each other deal with what they are going through. It is a journey filled with lies, hurt and love.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this ARC.
I like this book...not nearly as much as other Claire Adams's books. It had a slow start that carried on throughout the book. It has a good meaning about people grieve differntly and how lies can destroy something. Has a lot of steaming moments between Aiden and Lexa. Dual POV. I received this as an ARC for my honest review.
Claire Adams has done it again. An amazing story with loveable characters. She does not disappoint with this book. The story has lots of emotions, drama, chemistry, hot scenes and a great plot. Opposites attracts. I can only recommend this if you like to read romance with a twist.
I voluntarily reviewed a Advanced Reader copy of this book.
This is a great read. Aiden and Lexa are drawn together and you really feel their pain and their desire for each other. Secrets complicate their relationship and make for an interesting storyline. The author does a great job developing the characters and the relationship.
I received an arc of this book for a honest review.
It isn't the first book I have read from Claire Adams, and certainly not the last one. A sweet tale of two people who come together after trying circumstances. A happy ever after novella sure to tug at your heart strings. Definitely worth a read.
I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review. This is a great story of star crossed lovers, a twist on Romeo and Juliet. It's an uphill climb for the main characters with their pain and grief working against them and added to that the pain Gail actions of Lexa's family. It's bittersweet, hot and sweet all at once! Highly recommended.
