I am currently on page 211 and so far it has been a very good book. Although, it has been hard to stay interesting at some points. The book really pointed out the things I really wanted to know about. Those things were about how Jase met his wife, how he really got into religion and if he struggled with the birth of Mia.
Good Call
During the independent reading unit I learned new things about myself as a reader. When I do not connect with the text I often will skip pages or not really try to read as much. When I do connect with the text I can't put the book down and nothing can stop me from reading. Another thing I learned was that I am easily distracted that I can only read when it is silent.
One quote from the book Good Call really connected to my life and was one central idea that the book focused on. “It would be silly to claim someone's physical home might not have been built because you didn't see it being built.” This basically means you should not question that God created earth or people because you didn't see him build it. The one thing that Jase focuses on is to never question God and to believe in him. Jase throughout his life brings more people into his faith and baptizes them. The way that this connects to my life is that my friend and I had a point in our life that we were questioning why people don't believe in God and if we actually should. That same day I read that quote and it really made me feel silly for thinking the same things others were.
Throughout this book it has been interesting to learn more about Jases life. It really made me think more about my religion and what I believe. Jase also speaks of his life struggles and how be meets his wife. Getting more insight on how he went through his dad leaving because of his drinking problems and the difficulties his daughter Mia went through. Jase has very good writing style he really makes you excited to read more and makes you feel like you are right there with him. Although in this book there were some typos which is a very bad but you can get through it. This book is really any reading level. Although if you are interested in reading this book you should think about if you can actually connect to the things he rights about like fishing trips, hunting, faith and family struggles. It is a very good book and very interesting it is worth the read
