I'm really on the fence whether to give this 3 or 4 stars. The writing was well done and I liked Cami's character. I loved the intensity of Damon and the chemistry between the two of them. These are the only reasons I'd consider giving it 4 stars.

Unfortunately, the story itself left me very disappointed and even disgusted. First half of the book was great and the basis of all those positives, but at 55% it suddenly just became another dom/sub story. There were several elements of the storyline that I seriously disliked: the fact that this competition was done without knowledge by the women involved (at least Cami wasn't told it was a contest); the doms were going to receive money (potentially over 6 million) for all this and the subs would get nothing; people with ulterior and negative motives can put forth the women's names for this contest. The whole concept that these women were to be found and persuaded to partake in something they weren't even fully told about is distasteful.
I loved the fact that Cami pulled out of the dom/sub scenario and even more that Damon walked away from it to stay with her. I was again disappointed when, after finding out about the contest, she went ahead with it and ended up on her knees participating in the "f*ed up mind games" that she had earlier refused to be a part of.

This book started off so good but throughout, made me cringe at times and even a little angry, and almost didn't finish. Felt too much coercion, manipulation and dishonesty. Shame, i did love Cami and Damon (for the most part) but some of the book just made me wonder WTF?!?!?

I am so on the fence on how to rate this story. I almost didn't finish it. There were plot holes that distracted me in the beginning, then towards the middle when everything was starting to happen I felt mildly disgusted. I was waiting for something to happen that would make this story more.....just more. I didn't feel any connection, there was no relationship between the characters so it came off soooo...almost clinical in nature, and that is not a turn on for me.
I absolutely did not like how Damon and Cami's story got started. The ending tied some things up and helped me give this a 3 star rating, but it still isn't something I think I would recommend. I think my biggest complaint is that I didn't feel like she enjoyed anything, I feel like she was emotionally forced. This is not a lifestyle for her, but all of the sudden "she could do it to get back at someone" which is not a reason to subject yourself to abuse.

After a break up with her boyfriend Camille finds she's content with staying home and leaving the outside world behind. She's not interested in venturing out. Cami enjoys staying home, watching Netflix and writing smutty stories.
Damon is a strong, confident, in control kind of guy. Looks great in a suit and has a smoooooth mannerism. He intrigues Cami when she sees him at a lingerie store. (A store her sister takes her to because the sister is getting sexy outfits for her honeymoon.) He propositions her to be part of a film he wants to do, but doesn't give her details. Basically wants to "show" her to see if she can handle it.
This is where the recluse is to be turned into a submissive. What I like about the story is Camil doesn't just fall into the submissive role. She's independent and strong willed and has a few choice words to say about what's expected of her....even walks away a couple of times. I didn't like that Damon doesn't tell her the true reason he sought her out...only in the end does she know. Although the person who puts her up to this does play into her determination to see it through. The BDSM was pretty basic....nothing wild and crazy.
The other reason I didn't rate the book higher is because the ending was so abrupt. What about Brock (the ex-boyfriend) and his reaction to it all. What about dinner with the couple that offered it at the end of the contest? What about her sister's reaction to all this? I don't know....I just feel the author could have taken a little more time to wrap things up better.

This was just what I needed to read when I wanted a sexy as hell steamy book that would take me away from everything and just be a fun distraction. Damon was MEGA-hot and the kind of man who just takes the control over everything...while Camille got way more than she bargained for when Mr. Darkness came into her life.
Can we please talk about that cover for a minute?? OMG Jonny James nailed the character with that smolder...and I was smitten before I even read the first page. Loved it!

Please tell me where I can get my own Mr. Darkness lol. Hilary gave us a story like she never has before. I went into Mr. Darkness blind and did not know what to expect, and honestly what I did read was so unexpected. I was waiting for my Kindle to catch on fire with how hot this story is. The chemistry between Cami and Damon is off the charts hot. Kudos to you Hilary for another great story.

Camille is a romance writer who prefers to stay at home and get lost in her writing. She meets Damon and finds herself suddenly thrown into a world she never saw herself being a part of.
Cami's character is fun for the first part of the book, but becomes a little judgmental after visiting the cave. I'd expect a romance author would be a lot more open minded, especially regarding sex. Damon had the bossy, sexy and mysterious thing going on. There's a twist regarding a competition that felt a little out of place and rushed at the end.

One HOTT Book!!
Mr. Darkness is my new book boyfriend. Definitely #1 sexy romance of 2017 for my list. Top 5 over all of 2017. Hilary Storm is a phenomenal writer. She never disappoints me in her books. This one you will need a cold shower after reading.

I started this book expecting it to be kind of cheesy but couldn't put it down. I thoroughly enjoyed the turn of events. This was my first Hilary Storm book and I'll def be reading more!

Wow...this was such a great book.
This author really draws you into the story and has you attach yourself to a character from the very beginning. Therefore you must finish it as soon as possible to make sure everything turns out okay in the end.
Cami is an author and in a lot of ways a hermit...yet, her sister never gives up on her and gets her out of the house. When they are out she meets a man who she calls Mr. Darkness, and let me tell you I love that name and like that she called him that at times even after she finds out his real name.
This book has some BDSM in it, but I don't feel it is overdone at all, so that was a huge plus.
Cami never changes her personality while I loved, she just got more comfortable with herself. She needed Mr. Darkness to kindof bring her out of her shell and really out into the "light". But she was never afraid to try something but would say no when she was uncomfortable and she didn't just continue just because it would make HIM happy. I really love a character who can stay true to herself and knows when something isn't working instead of forcing it.
The slight twists were things I never saw coming and only added to the awesomeness of this book!

Although this was a fairly quick read, Storm was able to give us an incredible back story to work with.
Camille is hiding from herself and her past. Her ex has literally caused her to close herself off from everyone and everything. Until Mr. Darkness ignites a spark.
Damon inflicts himself into Camille's life at first through a mysterious email and then when he literally consumes her time and headspace. He offers her financial freedom beyond compare. But for what?
As the couple begin their journey and working relationship together, Camille understands she can't be a part of his world. (No spoiler info.) It's dark, overpowering, and not possible. But she's drawn to Damon.
She takes a chance and fails. But her Mr. Darkness follows her. Is he invested as well?
Pain and pleasure, hurt and revenge are players in this game. But trust is the victor.
Solid characters, insight into different lifestyles, and a bit of steam and fantasy. Highly recommend this read!

Hilary Storm knows how to deliver one hell of a sexy story. This was full of hot damn moments and the chemistry between Damon and Cami was scorching hot!! I love the characters. Mr. Darkness was sexy, dominant and had that allure of mystery to him that draws you in. Cami was strong and independent but still has that level of insecurity which I think most woman can relate to. I loved her determination.
I couldn’t wait to read this book. First off, the cover itself is sexy AF! Second, this author was throwing out those teasers that had me chompin at the bits waiting for it to release. This book was full of the unexpected. So many things I did not see coming that had me sitting at the edge of my seat. I read this in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down. This author did a great job delivering a story with great sex scenes, passion and mystery that instantly has you pulled in from beginning to end. If you BDSM elements, a feisty “submissive”, a sexy dominate with a dirty mouth and add some surprise twist and turns then this is definitely one you will not want to miss.

Holy HOTNESS...... and not just the cover! I was drawn into this story immediately, and knew I would not put this book down until it was finished. This is the story of Cami and Damon. Cami is an author currently in a self imposed exile. She doesn't like the "public" side of success and hasn't ever had a fulfilling relationship. It takes all of her effort to accompany her sister for a day out preparing for the sisters wedding. She meets Mr. Darkness and is suddenly drawn into a whole new world. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, and the struggle of Cami's feelings was so real. She is torn, and her inner thoughts are perfectly written. I loved the push and pull, I loved that Cami began to see herself in a different light - her confidence and her willingness to step out of the box made me have all the feels! The sexual tension, the voyeurism and kink are all in place, yet not over the top. I'm given this 5 stars - get this book - read it!!

It's been quite a while since I've grabbed a book this hot. Even his name is hot...Damon Deverick...whew! First of all, I loved the chemistry between Cami and Damon. The writing was spectacular. And the intensity with Damon was amazing; it made the book so much better. Cami had gumption and I loved that. I'm not sure I could of put myself in the situation that she put herself in. But the ex is a douche (you'll find out why when you read the whole book). And the D/s part of the relationship seemed rushed, even if brief. I would of liked it more if it was a bit more in-depth. I see myself in Cami a lot as far as the recluse part. And I can see myself trying new things. What I didn't like was the game itself. I won't go into details about that; you'll have to read. Seemed a bit barbaric and private-invasion-ish. All together, it was a fabulous book. I'm a big fan of Hilary; I'd dive into anything she wrote without question!

WOW! That is the impression that I was left with after finishing this book. This book will take control and not let you put it down. It's steamy, it's captivating, and you will absolutely need to know what is going to happen next. Damon is that dark, mysterious, need to know more about character that sucks you in and demands your full attention while reading. Cami is that character that you will find you are able to see things from her eyes. She has that everyday real life vulnerability that makes you team Cami instantly. I found that I was able to relate to so many of the emotions that were played out in this story. Trust is a huge deal in relationships of all kinds and reading how that was built and unfolded was incredible. This story has it all: sex, steam, heart, and an honest approach to how people deal with all of those things. I absolutely loved this story and can only hope that this is not the last time we hear from Damon and Cami. Fantastic book Hilary Storm!

BDSM with a twist of angst and love
Wow! I had to regain my composure with this book. I started reading and then walked away for an hour. Once I started again, it pulled me totally in, I could not stop reading. I mean I literally had to know what happens next. Damon Deverick is a rich complicated, dominate who is looking for a submissive not love. Camille Roberts is a introvert romance writer who recently had her heart betrayed by her cheating ex boyfriend. She has pretty given up on love, people and any social scene whatsoever. Her (soon to be bride) sister finally gets here out of the house for pampering and girls night out with the other bridesmaids is when she meets Damon. Let the sexiness and angst begin!!!! Loved the sex scenes and the storyline!!!!

Mr.Darkness is the first book I have read by this author and let me tell you, it's amazing.
This book is sexy, hot, and wild. The storyline is mysterious and held me from beginning to end.
Cami is a relateable character and you can see yourself in her and in the way she reacts to certain things.
Mr.Darkness aka Damon is a mysterious character with amazing sex appeal. I found myself wanting to find out more about him.
Together these two are amazing. They take you to a tabbo, dark place that not many people would be willing to try. There is no denying how hot these two are together. Their chemistry just explodes off the pages.

Good read. My first from this author.
This was a good read for me, the first I have read from this author. I would have liked a little more from the characters it was a bit rushed. Damon was a good alpha male character. Cami I was unable to connect with for the first half of the book. By the second half I started to like her more and then the book was over. I wasn't crazy about the competition aspect again it felt rushed I would have liked more of an explanation on how the contest came about and the fact that the women were not aware of how it all worked was weird for me. In a D/s relationship trust, consent and honesty are key so that felt unrealistic to me for any D/s relationship. The story did have potential I felt it needed more.

Hello Mr.Darkness
I absolutely loved this book.I can honestly say it was extremely different from the others I have read by Hilary.But amazing none the less. Very well written from beginning to end. I absolutely love how Camilla is someone who would rather hide away from people then be out with them but by the end that all changes.Giving in to het true self. Just love how this storyline is well written from beginning to end and had you hooked trying to figure out who this guy is that wants her so bad. I absolutely cannot say enough about this amazing book. One of my new favorites from Hilary..Highly recommend one clicking and enjoying late at night away from everyone.It will definitely leave you wanting more.

Hilary, you abso-fucking-lutely killed this book. I thought, ilk read in between being a maid today. Nope, you made me sit down and read non stop. I can't believe how amazing this story is. I'm hooked. Please tell me you will make more like this. I love your work and I think I am truly in love with this. 100% my favorite book by you and am going to be not so patiently awaiting !more badassery from you. YOU FREAKING ROCK! Oh my Gosh! To say this book was amazing is an understatement. This book starts off on a creepy note. I can totally relate to Cami and the way she feels. Hilary did an amazing job getting emotions across. When Cami was apprehensive, so was I. When she was excited, I must admit I felt like I was right there with her. I can't imagine Cami's character being any more perfect.
Mr Darkness is definitely a challenge in himself. Testing every limit and yet being absolutely amazing. Hilary left me wishing I had my own Mr Darkness. I can't even begin to express the rawness of this story and the journey it takes you on. This is definitely not a book to pass up!
Mr Darkness is definitely a challenge in himself. Testing every limit and yet being absolutely amazing. Hilary left me wishing I had my own Mr Darkness. I can't even begin to express the rawness of this story and the journey it takes you on. This is definitely not a book to pass up!

Holy Hotness!!!!
Camille and I both were immediately intrigued by "Mr Darkness" Damn I needed to know more about this mysterious man.
He had a job opportunity for her. Oh my when we saw what this "job" entailed.
I loved watching her inner battle of strong independent woman versus sexual submissive.
TRUST is all he wanted!!! He tested her beyond normal limits and damn if I wasn't ready to submit. Mr Darkness was HOT and demanding.
Then there was a game change I thought I saw coming but damn if Miss Camille didn't find an inner strength I didn't know she and and flip the table on me. It was awesome!!!!

Mr. Darkness is a hot, sexy read from start to finish. The story line was mysterious and captivating till the very end. Mr. Darkness (aka Damon), is a great character with lot of mystery and sex appeal that will leave you begging for more. Cami is very relatable, she is your everyday woman, strong and independent, but insecure in her own way too. Together these two characters take you on a dark, taboo ride into a world that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This was a great read from Hilary Storm and I am looking forward to more!

Whoa Momma!!!! I don't know what I was expecting when I started this book but it definitely not what I expected. This is not a bad thing. This book was hot. Smoking! The chemistry between Cami and Damon was off the charts. The attraction was present from the minute they met. I enjoyed the angst and the push and pull between the characters throughout the entire story. This was a very quick read and hooks you from the moment you pick it up. If you like you books with lots of heat and you like your books to have an edge, this one is definitely for you.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I opened this book. Honestly I still wasn't sure where it was headed after a few chapters but I was intrigued enough to read on. I'm so glad I did.
I liked Cami from the start. She's successful and wants to be strong and independent but she has some insecurities to overcome. Damon (Mr Darkness) is hot and mysterious, Cami is drawn to him. He wants to show Cami a world she never dreamed of. Even though I didn't love Damon in the beginning their chemistry is undeniable and he grew on me. By the end I was in love with Cami and Damon's story.

I'm absolutely in love with this book. I read at all hours of the day and night and was even late for work!! Mr. Darkness is phenomenal and deliciously dirty!! The chemistry between Cami and Damon is off the charts. Not only are they sexually attracted to each other but they are also drawn to each other's personalities. The camaraderie between them is hilarious I found myself laughing a lot. The sexual aspect of Mr. Darkness is now every woman's fantasy. This is a must read and it will be a recommendation from me every time.

I could not put this book down. I was fascinated with the concept, and the characters. I really enjoy when the author throws in some twists and turns and surprises. Camille has social anxiety and prefers to be home and avoids people at all costs. Mr. Darkness, Damon, is a Dom. Gorgeous, successful, and wants Camille.
Special mention to this unbelievable beautiful and sexy book cover. This is a wonderful book by a talented author, with great taste in cover models.

I I never disliked characters in a book ad much as I did in this book.
I wanted to scream out loud at the way the story turned out. I could only see Damian as a lousy user, a liar and, if at the end she would’ve walked out on him, that would’ve been total satisfaction.
Sure, turn the plot around and make him regret and make amends and eventually they end up together.
But not in the way the story was plotted.
Too bad, the book had potential but when a cold hearted user gets away with lies...all I got was disappointment.
