Bundle of Love

Rate this book
The love he needs might be the last thing he expects…
Adam Whitaker has loved and lost more times than he can count. His father died before he was born, and then a tragic accident stole his high school sweetheart from him. But as the town’s vet and the director of an equine therapy camp, life is going great nowadays.

All right, fine – it’s plenty stressful, and at the end of the day, it’s also turning out to be plenty lonesome.

And then, in strolls Kylie VanLueven, his very new and very pretty receptionist. The first time he met Kylie, she was just a kid. Now, she’s all grown up, with curves in all the right places. She's doing a good job at the clinic, but he won’t ever let it be more than that, despite the longing she stirs in him.

Besides, he’s sure that she’s hiding a secret…

The secret she carries won’t stay secret for long…
Kylie has come home to Sawyer on the heels of a bad break up. She kicked the abusive loser to the curb to protect herself and, more importantly, her unborn child.

The job she takes at the vet clinic is just supposed to be a way to pay her bills. She never expects Adam Whitaker to be so handsome, so kind and so exasperating, too. The way he looks at her with his whiskey colored eyes? It makes her heart race, while his touch and gentle teasing make her yearn for more.

But she never imagined the danger from her past would come looking for her and her unborn baby…

Bundle of Love is the seventh novel in the Long Valley series, although all books in the Long Valley world can be read as standalones. It has some strong language, and oh my, sexy times. Enjoy!

Why so many good reviews…

This story is about Adam and Kylie. She comes back home with her tail tucked between her legs pregnant, broke and lost. Adam is a suppose 38 year old veterinarian scorned by love. They fell in love within three weeks of knowing each other and were intimate despite her being pregnant with another man’s baby. It’s fine, whatever. My problem was I felt no connection to anyone in this story. The small town gossip was overdone and unnecessary. Kylie cried non stop even when she promised to pull her big girl panties up. Then Adam acted more like he was 18 years old than an actual grown man. The whole story is them going about their lives them randomly mentioning other characters at length when it could have been short and sweet. Then the inner monotonous monologue for both H/H was painful like get on with it already. Oh , and the blurb mentioned Kylie’s past coming to hunt her. Yeah when in chapter 40 and there’s only like two or three left. Girl; bye. This book needed editing as well because when you forget commas you’re well on your way to a run on sentence. And I have to wonder if it was necessary to say things like: amaze balls, dayum, and Yolo. Perhaps this book would be better suited for teenagers. Mind you, I’m 31 but it just felt out of place for a book on supposed adults.

4.5 Stars for Bundle of Love which is book 4 in the Long Valley Series it may be book 4 but it certainly can be read as a stand-alone because each book is about a different couple and I haven’t read every other book in this series yet I still loved this book.
Kylie VanLueven has come back home with her tail between her legs hoping her mother will support her and let her stay whilst she gets through her unexpected pregnancy, she is 22 years old struggling with what way to turn and when her mother says she needs to find somewhere else to live it just about breaks her but as the saying goes when one door closes another door opens and that’s exactly what happens when she applies for a job at the local vets office working with Dr Adam Whitaker. Adam not only offers her a job he offers her a home in return for looking after the animals on his small holding but what will happen when he finds out the secret she kept from him........
I loved the characters I loved the town and I loved the storyline, Bundle of Love is a sweet easy to read love story with a few twists and turns along the way and I will be going back to read the previous books in this series because I can’t wait to meet more inhabitants from Long Valley.

2.5?

I'm a bit wishy washy on this one. I like the characters, but I don't. I like the story, but I don't. I like insta-love, but not this one.

Ok, the H is a bit weird as in very absolute sweetheart, then obsessed with her tits or thinking about banging her. I don't have a problem with either as a rule, but the good guy / horny guy just didn't manage to merge for me here. It was a bit of a jolt to the system each time. The h was very bipolar in her feelings... Either can barely move and talk or its all fine and great attitude. There was NO sort of build or finesse with the Insta-love at all. It was 'I was in love from the moment I laid eyes on you and now we are admitting it, we are all sorted and all go'. Again, CAN work, but this didn't. The H's history also made me choke on that part of the story too.

The overall story line was jumpy and went from problem to sorted to weeks later in a few paragraphs. The issues that were brought in for them to overcome were pretty much footnotes rather than being built into the story.

Anyway, I didn't hate it, but there were a lot of problems that stopped me from enjoying it.

4 Star Review of Bundle of Love by Erin  Wright

Erin Wright is a new author to me and I am not sure why. Although this book is part of a series I was able to read without too much trouble.

Returning to her home town Kylie VanLueven ends up working for Adam Whittaker, the town’s vet and the director of an equine therapy camp. adam is great with the animals but not so great with running the business side of his practice.

However Kylie has a secret which will soon be known, she is pregnant and unmarried. Adam has been hurt in the past when the woman he loved, left him for someone else. Can Adam and Kylie support each other?

It turns out the mother she thought would help and support her, wants her out of the family home. Adam seems to be the only one ready to swoop in and help her. No one is more shocked than Adam when he realises he is attracted to Kylie despite the difference in their ages.

This was a well written story which had humour, suspense and tears. Told in dual pov’s it tugged at the heartstrings and I will be looking at other books in the series.

more 4.5-5
This was a feel good book. Adam was such a sweet, caring and gentle man. Well except when Norm the jerk who was horrible to Kylie shows up. Then he opens a can of whoop butt and he had good reason to.

Kylie was a mess when the book begins. She is lost in her sadness and fear. Fear of being a single mom. Fear of not knowing where her life is going and being back home. But her awesome mom kicks her in gear and she ends up at Adam’s office. Where Adam finds her to be a wonder and when she is able to get his most onery patient to be all softy and fuzzy that cemented her for the job. Only little did both know it also helped cement their desires as well.

Adam was one who helped so many that he lost himself in that and did not really take care of himself. I think in a way it was his way of forgetting the pain and sorrow but also his guilt. Kylie though helped him through it and he felt lighter. Only his schedule didn’t lighten. His heart was opening up to love and he fell head over heals for Kylie. He helped her in so many ways. One being giving her back a sense of self worth and independence. She did a great job managing his office and her caring nature came across in all she did just like with Adam.

Adam was scared of acting on his attraction at first but when they did those were some steamy kisses. Over time they got to know one another and be what the other needed. They brought a sense of peace and happiness to each other but also support. Kylie did make a mistake and Adam did get angry but when you see why your heart goes out to him. I loved how he was with Kylie. He broke the mold for her and showed her not all men are jerks. He was kind, caring and loving. He was understanding and supportive. She was the same towards him as well. The story was just a feel good all around and ends with such a warm and tender moment.

Great book

This is a great book. I could not put it down once I started it. He has loved her for a long time. She was treated so badly before. It will grab you from the start. I was laughing so hard at the end when she was having the baby threatening to kill him if he got her pregnant. Him passing out. You really have to read it. Fabulous book

Wonderful story

I loved this small town romance. The town and its inhabitants are a good backdrop to the town vet and his new receptionist. I liked how Adam took it slow with Kylie and eventually coaxed her secrets from her. Kylie learned her worth from Adam, learned he would always be there for her. Adam found love again. They are a great couple with a deserved happily ever after.

Parts of this book were sweet or entertaining but then other parts were very long winded or just disturbing. And then we would suddenly jump weeks or months without any warning.
The long winded boring stuff was when secondary characters came around who obviously already had a book but there was just way too many details given. By the time it was finally all explained I had forgotten what was going on to prompt the synopsis.
How fast Adam fell in love was weird mostly because it seemed to come out of nowhere and with Kylie pregnant by someone else and him not even having the full story yet, it just felt so awkward. Follow that up with how quickly they got intimate with absolutely no thought to her circumstances again, just didn’t feel right.
I think it was a good plot just executed in a very weird way. I was glad to be done and definitely don’t have any urge to read any more of the series.

We are back in Long Valley and Dr. Adam Whitaker, the local vet find loves again. Adam is a man who falls in love instantly. Kylie VanLueven returns home after 4-years away at school. She arrives on her mother's doorstep pregnant and expects her mom to take care of her. I believe in love at first site, who wouldn't want to believe in that. However, I wasn't 100% comfortable with his love interest. Kylie is very young and immature, and really knows nothing about life. The couple didn't work for me.

I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Swing and a miss

Norman doesn't make sense. Kylie's reactions don't make sense. Ms Wright is trying to force a round peg in a square hole. If you are going for it then just lay it all out make me bleed for the characters. Don't tell me something happened once and give with me months of over reaction. Cause either the character is lying about that being only one time or the author is showing symptoms for a disease the character doesn't have--either way is bad writing. And her mom's reaction to everything is off. So not better than Stetson actually this one is worse.

This book was a quick read and it was cute, but nothing spectacular. The story was an insta-love that I found a bit unrealistic. If you can get past that, then the book was enjoyable. Adam seemed like a good guy who had too much going on and Kylie was in a bad situation but able to help him. Her mom came off as a little self centered to me, but that might be because my mom is so loving and would never have reacted the way hers did.

Absolutely loved this sweetly thrilling visit to Long Valley filled with all my favorite charters and giving Dr. Adam Whitaker his very own long awaited HEA...

Kylie returns home to the Long Valley of Idaho at a low point in her life. She is pregnate, looking for work and hoping to build a future for herself and her unborn baby. Adam hires her to help out at his clinic and sparks instantly begin to fly... loved this sweet, funny and emotional romantic journey.

Ok, so I only actually read about 30% of this and couldn't keep going.

My big issue was with the age gap between the pair. Kylie is 22 and acts really young in my opinion. Adam is 38 and certainly been around. They just feel like a whole generation apart.

When all we are given is an electric shock when they first meet and then the sexual tension between them, I just wasn't feeling excited about the two ending up together, making it a pointless read.

I tried to like this book but it was too sugary sweet.
When the hero, Adam, professes his love less than 3 weeks after meeting Kylie, it just doesn't ring true.

There was lots of crying on the part of Kylie but very little angst or sexual tension.

This was a nice read but a bit too lightweight and cheesy for me.

A sweet romantic story. Would have liked to see more of the building of the relationship. It does skip large portion of time frequently, which seems to take away from the reader connecting with the characters . Overall cute book.

I liked the story but struggled a bit with some of the timings of things. The relationship moves waaaay too quickly. Also, the most exciting bit (for me) is over in a flash. Blink and you miss it.

After four years, Kylie VanLueven was facing one those difficult situations many find themselves in – she was forced to crawl back home when things didn’t work out as planned. Her mom hugged her and they sat down to talk. Kylie began with “I’m pregnant . . .”

Dr. Adam Whitaker, the county’s veterinarian, stopped at the fire station to check on an abandoned and possibly abused dog found in the hills after a wildfire. Moose arrived with a black and white setter and they put her on a table for Adam to examine.

After a week spent mostly in bed, overwhelmed by the thought of showering, dressing, or doing anything really, Kylie’s mom knocked on her bedroom door. She informed Kylie that enough was enough, and now she needed to get out of bed and do something for herself. Dr. Adams was looking for a receptionist, and she wanted Kylie to apply. The fact that Kylie was wearing the same clothes for the past 8 days should have told her this intervention had been necessary!

Kylie was hired for the receptionist job and things were going well, at least until her mom came to talk one evening about Kylie’s moving out now that she could budget in some rent for her own place. Kylie had not even thought about that!

Kylie had asked Adam if she could buy new cleaning supplies. When he tiredly walked back into his clinic, he thought he had entered the wrong place! The walls sparkled and years of nose and paw prints were gone. The place looked amazing! Without thinking, he asked if she would move into his hobby-farm homestead, which the tenant taking care of it and the animals had just vacated, he would offer it rent-free. He knew it would be in good hands, having seen what she had done for the office. She threw herself at him, thanking him over and over and over! He didn’t know why, but his timing had been perfect for her – and the price was exactly what she needed! With the two of them building respect and comfort with each other, with each hiding their attraction for the other, where might this lead? And would Adam understand when it finally became obvious that she was having another man’s baby?

My favorite thing about this author is how “real” her books are. They make the reader feel like a welcomed part of this friendly town and even like one of the family members. When I read any of the books in this series, my thoughts whisper “home…”. This was one of the most gentle, tender love stories the reader could hope to read. Without intending to, these two caring people found what they most needed. Will Kylie’s past come back to ruin everything? Is Adam’s heart big enough to embrace a new family? Please take a chance on this book – it is an incredible journey you won’t want to miss.

This is book seven in the Long Valley series and my first book by this author. I really liked Bundle of Love and I am going to go read the others. I was able to follow along smoothly as it is standalone. I felt all kinds of different emotions. I laughed boy did I laugh at some things. But mostly I met a man that works hard and loves hard. Sometimes he wears his heart on his sleeve. I also liked no loved the heroine. Even though we don’t see it right away, she is strong and has a good head on her shoulders. I read this book in one go I was so pulled in and enthralled to see what would happen next. The writing pace and plot were great. Did I mention he is a cowboy? OH, MY GOSH!!! I haven't ever read a western romance and I fell hard for all these people in this small little town.

The book opens with Kylie returning home on her mother’s doorstep after being gone for four years for school. She comes home baring a secret and one that I didn't see coming. That is also what I loved. It kept me on my toes. Her mom offers her her old bedroom and after her moping, she needs to find herself a job. She is also hiding a huge secret. I just wanted to pull Kylie in and give her a hug and tell her everything was going to be ok.

Then you have Adam. The country vet and cowboy with an honest to goodness farm. A big one that he can’t take care of since he is helping his mom out and be a vet and travel from farm to farm. He isn't properly billing and people are behind. Why you ask because he loves his mom. She is in a bad way and she needs help since she isn’t as mobile as she used to be. So he hires Kylie.

They meet when he needs someone to run his front office instead of Ollie he young teenage helper. He is instantly smitten when the grumpy cat loves her and licks her and doesn't take chunks of skin like he does to everyone else except for his owner.

As I said I love the players. I had moments where I wasn’t a fan of Kylie’s mom. Ok, so let me say a lot of the time I wasn’t a fan of her. I understand to a point where she was coming from, but at the same time, she was a bit selfish. There were people so intent on finding everything out and aren't very nice, and they don't care how they get their information.that is expected in smaller towns but my oh my people don't seem to care in this book who they hurt or step on. They are downright mean and bullying.

This, as I said was a great book. It was fun and sweet, easy to read and fall in love with all of them. There was some drama and I felt the whole time I was waiting for the shoe to drop. When it did I was not expecting what I found out. I was expecting something else altogether. I was pleasantly surprised and lately that has been hard to do.

Bundle of Love is the 4th story in the Long Valley series, a series which continues with wonderful characters, some we are familiar with and other new ones.

While Dr. Adam Whitaker, 38-year-old veterinarian, was introduced earlier in the series, he really was deserving of a story of his own, especially after Chloe, the woman he loved for nine years, finds her own happily ever after...with someone else (Overdue for Love is her story). When Kylie shows up at his office looking for a job, he never imagined he would be interested in another woman since Chloe, but...

And speaking of deserving, Kylie VanLueven, 22 and pregnant, certainly deserves her own happily ever after, but she knows it won’t be with the man whose baby she is carrying. Although Adam hires Kylie on the spot, it seems she cannot catch a break - even her own mother wants her out of her home even though Kylie is pregnant and has only just gotten her first partial paycheck since returning to Sawyer.

Kylie is ashamed of the circumstances that have brought her back to Sawyer and was hoping that her own mother would understand and be supportive.

Instead, Adam is the one who truly is a knight in shining armor. Given his previous history (avoiding any spoilers here), he truly shines as a caring, compassionate man!

Although there are a lot of poignant moments, there’s also a lot of humor in watching Adam and Kylie’s story unfold. This is a wonderful, heartwarming love story that you will enjoy whether you’ve read others in this series or not. Once you’ve read this one, you’ll want to go back and read the others to discover many of the supporting characters’ happily ever after, as well!

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, however, this is my honest opinion.

This romance takes one on a roller coaster ride, from laughing oneself silly to feeling the depths of the characters' despair. Adam wears his heart on his sleeve and when it gets broken, he has difficulty in putting his life back together again. His life is also out of control with too much to do and too little time in which to do it. He hits a brainwave - hire a receptionist. Which is just was Kylie needs. She has arrived back in the town she swore never to return to, pregnant and broke. When her mother bullies her out of her funk, she discovers that there is a job opportunity for her. Her biggest surprise comes when she finds she is hired. However, keeping her pregnancy a secret in a small town seems a wise choice, that is until malicious characters do their best to destroy her. And then her baby isn't a secret anymore, with resulting complications. When her past comes back to haunt her, further complications emerge, and Kylie has a choice to believe the lies or to take hold of her new reality. I loved the characters in this book, the witty banter and the hilarious circumstances they found themselves in. Adam, despite being a bit too much older for Kylie than one would normally like, is a caring and steady influence in her life. Whilst bringing order into Adam's life, Kylie also brings laughter and a whole deluge of unusual sayings, all of which make one laugh. All in all, this is a well-written story that keeps the reader engrossed from start to finish. The book forms part of a series and some of the characters from previous books make an appearance in this one too, but it is nevertheless a stand-alone with a happy ending. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Kylie returns home to the Long Valley of Idaho, a place she never wanted to live in again, pregnant and dejected. You have to love small towns, but coming home pregnant by a married man is not something that you can keep from the gossip mill for long. Adam is a veterinarian who cannot resist taking in strays; animals or pregnant women. He is busy, stressed and lonely with only his disabled mother for company. Kylie goes to work for Adam and the sparks begin to fly. Despite their age difference, Adam has the hots for Kylie and cannot resist helping her out. Bundle of love is full of heart and humor and a smoldering passion that threatens to ignite at any minute!
If you have read the earlier books in the series, you will enjoy the return of familiar characters but Bundle stands alone. I loved how the perspective of the chapters alternated between Kylie and Adam so you got both of their inner thoughts. Adam is such a sweet, generous and caring man that you will fall in love with him. And the story is so much fun too, with snappy dialog, quirky animals and the funny phrases like amazeballs that Erin loves to sprinkle through the book. You will also love how a small town comes to life in her stories and you will feel right at home.

"Bundle of Love" by Erin Wright

My Rationalization:

What will happen when Kylie VanLueven comes home after four years of being away at school, now pregnant, devasted and finding out that the baby was from a married man? I loved how Kylie's mother pushed her to be get up and do what was needed to be done. I know that this may have seemed somewhat odd but really this mother knew her daughter and did what was best for her at that time. After finding a job working as a receptionist at a local town veterinarian clinic we find a Dr. Adam Whitaker who just happened to be a widower seemed to have feelings for her. What will happen as these two seem to fall for one another [steaming kisses]? Now you will have to pick up "Bundle of Love" to see how Kylie and Adam will be able to work out there trust issues and life in this small town of Sawyer. If you are looking for a story that will pull from the heartstrings with its humor and some suspense you have come to the right place for 'Bundle of Love" will give it to you.

Kylie VanLueven left Sawyer, Idaho to go to college and never wanted to come back. Unfortunately Kylie is 22 years old and pregnant by a married man that wants nothing to do with her, so she is back at her mother’s house. After a weeks pity party, her mom tells her that Dr. Adam Whitaker, a veterinarian, is looking for a receptionist. Kylie goes to his office and he ends up hiring her (his high school student was not too good with people!); but she doesn’t tell him she is pregnant. Adam’s wife died a few years ago and he hasn’t been with anyone since. He is 38 years old to Kylie’s 22. He is attracted to Kylie, but doesn’t want to abuse his boss/employee relationship.

I loved what a great guy Adam is and how he not only helped animals, but people. I felt bad about what had happened to his wife, and also the no good bum that Kylie had let herself believe she loved. The small town had their busybodies that liked to cause trouble. It was a sweet love story that I strongly encourage you to read. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

What are heart warming story.
I read the very first book in this series and fell in love with Stetson and Jennifer. Adam and Kylie's romance makes me want to reread the rest of the series.
Adam is having a hard time getting over his wife. He thought Chloe was the key but then he met Kylie. She does things to him he thought he would never feel again.
Kylie comes home with a secret but even more than that she comes home believing all the horrible things her ex said to her. As each person in her life does something "innocently" she looks at it as confirmation of what he told her.
When these two meet there is attraction but neither is willing to put their heart on the line just yet.
Erin Wright again gives the reader wonderful characters to follow and real to life past that must be overcome. You'll find yourself completely wrapped up in this book wanting to go back and read those books in the series you haven't read yet and looking forward to the next installment.
I was given this book for an honest voluntary review.
