“The pain was beyond imagining. My stomach acclimated to taking food. But I lost all sense of taste. I got better at faking smiles, because I could no longer emote. Everybody came to trust me. But I lost the ability to sleep. A child was born. But the sea froze over again.”
Agni, you can never know who you are by yourself. Snow is only regarded as white when it’s first observed by others, and perceived as cold when it’s first touched. Fire is understood to be red only when it’s first looked at by others, and by being touched it’s understood to bring heat and danger. Agni, when others look upon you and touch you, that’s when what you are can be understood. No matter how much you may think yourself to be firewood or pork or poultry, in our eyes, you’re none of these. When we look at you we’re filled with energy. When we touch you we feel your kindness. You first know who you are by other’s assessments of you.”
"—...Es imposible.
—Dale, hacé el intento. Aunque sea mañana... pero viví.
Aquello fue inimaginablemente doloroso."
"¿No te das cuenta... de que todos aparte de vos desean tu felicidad?"
