Good lord this cover is SMOKIN'. Excellent representation of the hero. Jonas is hot y'all. Great composition. Attractive and eye-catching title work. Five lick worthy stars for sure!
I love these two author's writing. I love this group of men, and I loved this book. It was SO close to being a 5-Star read for me. As I said, the writing was excellent. The pace was fantastic. It had an interesting plot that kept me glued to the pages. There was no OW/OM drama. Some smokin' hot sex scenes. A fabulous cast of secondary characters. An extremely likable and sexy alpha hero and a heroine that was the reason this lost some starage. All wrapped up in one HELL of a cliffhanger. I SO need book two NOW.
I am going to be straight up honest and admit I am SUPER friggin picky with my heroines. There is a fine line between feisty and being a bitch. As there is with being independent and being stupid. Unfortunately for the first half of this book, I found JJ crossed over into the annoying side for me. Was her and Jonas's banter great at times? Indeed it was. Was her snapping bitchily at him one too many times cute? No, it was not. While I understood her wanting to keep her past private for awhile. Once things started to happen her continued refusal to tell anyone about it came across as extremely stupid and to be honest selfish. So yes I did struggle with her at times and that ultimately had me lowering my rating a bit. All in all, though I did enjoy this one and am looking forward to book two and what this author has in store for us next.

I have been a fan of Nana and M. Malone since their Shameless series and in Force, we get to revisit Jessica "JJ" Jones and Jonas Castillo. They were absolutely amazing and sizzling characters. Their chemistry was HOT and their banter just as fiery. I loved that they were passionate about each other and their friends and loved ones. The suspense storyline throughout Force was so exciting and addicting and I could not get enough!! And that ending?! GAH! I can't wait for book two!
Force tells the story of Jonas and JJ, respective best friends of both Noah and Lucia from the Shameless series. While this book is a standalone, I would recommend you read the first series because a) it is amazing and b) you get to know Jonas and JJ and also learn so much backstory of the other cast of characters.
Jonas and JJ were both emotionally troubled characters. While both were confident and smooth on the outside, they both masked their painful past experiences being in or around domestic violence. I loved that the authors were able to highlight this prevalent issue while also giving us a fantastic story! I also loved that their painful experiences also brought their emotional connection to another level.
One of my favorite aspects of this novel was the fact that JJ was pure FIRE. She was a spitfire who brought Jonas to his knees and always gave as good as she got. She was the perfect match for him. All in all I loved this book and can't wait for part two from this dynamic duo!! Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

Yes!!! This story was even better then I expected and I've been waiting for it since Shameless was over. It by far exceeded every expectation I had and I can't wait for part 2!!! Force is everything you want in a story and more. It's well developed, has twists, suspense, likable characters & incredible chemistry.
JJ and Jonas have perfect to me since Shameless and even with all the skirting around each other they do Jonas protects her when she needs it most, even though her stubbornness won't let her admit she needs him but Jonas refuses no for a answer. WOW! This series is one of the best! I am totally adore the Malone's their writing is unique and fun to read. This is about the another member of Blake security and part two of the story. I so glad that the Malone's didn't let the story get bogged down with unnecessary words or made it so thin that a reader is left wondering what is going on. Their writing allows me to enjoy cliffhangers even though it leaves me on the edge of my seat waiting to read what next and how they will end the next part of the book. It's a story that's thrilling, suspenseful, very well crafted and written for the enjoyment of those of us who always hope to find someone new yet similar. NaNa and M Malone books are sensual, delightful, enchanting with blazing hot scenes and very entertaining. There's no secret that their characters are well developed, intriguing, strong, marvelous,sexy with chemistry off the chart. This is story features Jonas Castillo and Jessica JJ Jones. Jonas is a hunter, a protector, that's a shadow that haunts the night but he is one of the good guys. Jessica is known as JJ she is sassy, funny, protective of her friends, she is Lucia' s BFF and godmother of baby Isabella. Jonas also helps JJ overcome her feeling of fear that all men are bad. The story has a twist or two and its full of passion, love, fear, hate and stalker or two. The characters are exciting, humorous, heart-pounding and their chemistry is blazing hot, explodes with passion. What a page turner I hated for the story to end. I enjoy the fact that all the characters are back with a few additions. I love the mystery, the suspense, the strong alpha males and Most of all the sassy BBW's. A Magnificent series and a must read for romance lovers! Phenomenal romance with a cliffhanger and some interesting surprises. I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.
The mystery is solved, and another is begun. We know who the follow-up to Shameless & Unashamed is about, and it's Jonas & JJ (aka Jessica Jones). The new mystery is the one that darkens the path of Ms. Jones, and keeps Jonas' ever-watchful eyes on her. (not that they weren't already...)
There's a brief catch-up chapter at the beginning of this book (it's actually Forceful ) that tells us where the gang has been. Unsurprisingly, it hasn't been all wine and roses since finding Rafe. I'm guessing there will be more tension down the road between the guys, but that will come later.
For now, we're discussing JJ and Jonas. From the brief glimpses of her in the Shameless books, I wasn't sure how much I'd like JJ in her own story. I was delighted to find out that she became three-dimensional very quickly. Her backstory was 100% plausible and fit in with the overall arc of the characters incredibly well. It explains her attitude and connection with Lucia, and also most of her prickliness.
I loved getting to know Jonas better! It's difficult to drag backstory out of these guys I'm guessing, they're all so mysterious and broody. (haha) But truly, they're all HARD-CORE ALPHAs. He's been watching JJ for a while, but once he notices her strange behavior and sees the actual danger to her person - he is ON IT.
Here's where I mention that JJ does not WANT him to be on it. Not in the least. That does not preclude her from wanting him to be on other things, but definitely not nosing around in her past. That is better off left dormant, never to be heard of again. It would just hurt the people around her - especially Lucia.
Once Jonas is on the case, not-so-wacky hijinx ensue. Because JJ knows how to duck a tail... that is, until Jonas.
Fair warning, you should know this is another short series, so it ends on a cliffhanger. The next book comes out very soon though, so you won't have long to wait for a continuation of the story. I loved the Shameless books, and the Malones haven't let me down with Force.

Oh God, the Malones are just bound and determined to kill me! First the Shameless series with all their cliffies and now Force has an even more destined-to-kill-me cliffy than either Shameless or Shameful.
But, even though there's a cliffhanger, I loved Force just as much as the Shameless series. Jonas is amazing. He's a tough badass kinda guy like the rest of his crew, and got that whole demons on his back thing going on. He's got some serious emotional scars to bear, and it's made him gruff and tough on the outside. Inside, though, he's just prime for JJ to come along and ease his burden. She's more than an equal partner for him, with her just as tough, sassy personality and has her own demons thanks to her past. Seeing them fall fast and hard had me cheering for them to hurry up and get to their HEA.
No one does romantic suspense quite like the Malones and Force is a perfect example. Its got their trademark badass alpha paired with an equally strong, (way sassy) heroine, and chemistry that's hot as hell. Now if only the conclusion would hurry up and appear on my Kindle, sooner rather than later, then I'd be a happy woman!

This is an absolutely amazing read full of banter, sex, more banter, danger, intrigue and some tied up loose ends from Shame and Shameless. And of course all the boys (and girls) are back in this new series that will having you thank the author for bringing them back so we can see them once again. Along with getting to know the other members of the security team a little better. This book is very well written with a wonderful storyline that will have you turning page after page to see what happens next and how it all will end.
The characters are well written and in this book, quite complex not only in personalities but in their relationships. Jonas is strong, fearless, and a force to be reckoned with, and on the plus side (as if that right there wasn't enough), he's hot and sexy as all get out! Jessica JJ Jones, is smart beautiful and sassy as hell. She and Jonas know just how to push each other's buttons, and when they do it's fun for us readers.
JJ is in trouble but she doesn't want to tell anyone what's going on, especially Jonas. She can't confide in her best friend because she's found her happily ever after with Noah and they have a new baby girl. She doesn't want any thing to touch her friend or her family....until the devil walks right in the door...so to speak. The excitement builds and you will not be able to put the book down until you reach the end!

We revisit Jessica "JJ" Jones and Jonas Castillo, best friends of Noah and Lucia from the Shameless series. The story has Jonas going all out to protect JJ. They've both had painful experiences in the past which they keep to themselves, they're both extremely strong, and confident but don't trust anyone enough to talk about them.
I loved how their relationship developed throughout the story, their difficult beginnings the bantering and their experiences finally bring them closer.
This is an exciting ride, Jonas is the man of the moment, a great guy and "hot", JJ was a spitfire of a character, a little stubborn and couldn't be made to alter her plans, not even for Jonas.
I loved this book and it's characters, part 2 can't come fast enough!

A force to reckon with, that seems to be the mantra for the Blake Security men.

Each have thier own storied backgrounds and bicker like kids, but the foundation of the bickering is really foreplay, becasue when they get together, hot sparks fly! JJ is being stalked by a crazy ex and Jonas is just the man to protect her and show her not all men are the same. Jonas comes from an abused past and sees JJ as a way for him to repent for his actions when he was little. Together with the the Blake Secuity team, can they find the stalker and protect their own? Can they find love at the end of all of the drama?

Malone squared sure know how to create a hero. Jonas is a man of mystery. He keeps readers guessing. Gruff, tough and hard to get enough describes the power of Force. Their love is an uphill battle. Darkness and danger await. Will Jonas and JJ make it out alive? JJ is no damsel in distress, she knows what it means to fight. She won't let fear win. A tough hero, a fearless heroine and an electrifying passion are the beginning of an explosive series.

This was a well-written, intriguing book, and one that captivated me from start to finish. As the first part of a duet, it ended with an unusual twist and I cannot wait to see how the story develops in the second part. I really enjoyed reading this book and would have no hesitation in recommending it.
Jessica Jones (JJ) is impetuous, loud, a little fool-hardy and a known troublemaker; although a strong independent woman, she is hot tempered and didn’t take suggestions well. The last thing she needs is some man trying to tell her what to do; she didn’t want any man having that sort of control over her life. But JJ had not always been that kind of woman and she didn’t want to go back to that time in her life. She had come so far and would not let anything from her past ruin this for her; she had spent years burying that part of her life so deep that no one would ever find out. JJ has not seen her ex in 7-years, but suddenly he seems to be a shadow she sees at every turn; after all these years he has found her. David always said he would never let her go and she believed him. Jonas is a good man and had been a cop a long time ago. He always knew why he wanted to go into law enforcement; it was so he could protect people who couldn’t protect themselves, people like his mother. But he didn’t like the idea of being a vigilante. He has a new life now; he takes his cases seriously, but it is exhausting trying to help people who were not ready to help themselves. Jonas would always have a certain sense of responsibility to protect the women in his life because of his past; she knew that and accepted it. JJ and Jonas like to push each other’s buttons, but despite their constant fighting, he does care for her; there is something about this woman that makes him lose all control and while she lives to torment him, he cannot resist her. It wasn’t that he was obsessed with her exactly, it was more that she challenged him. JJ hasn’t been acting like herself for weeks and finally confides her fears to Jonas. Jonas had snuck past every single one of JJ’s defenses, becoming an essential part of her everyday life; he is never going to judge her for the decisions she has made because he understands. JJ has never felt this close to anyone, not even the one man who had taught her never to trust again, but Jonas makes her feel safe, protected and loved; he was always serious and it was wonderful to be the one who could bring out a lighter side of him. David had left her and just vanished and she still didn’t know exactly why, but suddenly he is back in her life and she is scared. David has been using an alias; how strange that a man who has had such a profound effect on her life and her distrust of men, probably wasn’t even who she thought he was. That meant that either she is going to get hurt or Jonas would, and Lucia and the rest of the team were going to get caught in the middle. JJ had kept secrets and those secrets had put Lucia and her family in danger. David is an ORUS agent, violent and unpredictable, but this is Noah’s family and they will protect what is theirs. When the unthinkable happens, JJ finally gets the message loud and clear; she is not safe and she never has been and neither are the people she loves. There are so many interesting twists and turns in this book that made it such an enjoyable story. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. JJ had kept secrets and those secrets had put Lucia and her family in danger. David is an ORUS agent, violent and unpredictable, but this is Noah’s family and they will protect what is theirs. When the unthinkable happens, JJ finally gets the message loud and clear; she is not safe and she never has been and neither are the people she loves. There are so many interesting twists and turns in this book that made it such an enjoyable story. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Wow!! I absolutely loved Force. With Force, M. Malone and Nana Malone have given us readers a well-crafted, emotionally-charged, and suspenseful story that will make you laugh, cry, pray for the good guys to win, and want to kick some butt. I could not put this one down from the moment I opened the book. What a great story. What a roller-coaster of a ride Force is--one that you will not want to get off. One of the best parts about Force is that it picks up pretty much where the Shameless trilogy left off, so you don't feel as though you have missed anything in between the books in this interconnected series. So, if you haven't read the Shameless series I highly recommend it before you start reading Force, because it will give you a better understanding of the characters and how they relate to each other.
Force focuses on Jessica Jones aka JJ, Lucia's best friend, and Jonas Costillo, Noah's best friend and one of the members of the Blake Security team, both of whom we met in the Shameless trilogy, which focused on Lucia and Noah's story. JJ is a beautiful, free-spirited, trouble-making, independent force to be reckoned with of a woman, who happens to be hiding a very big secret. Jonas is the sexy, strong, protective alpha who will go above and beyond the call of duty to protect a woman, but who also happens to be carrying around tremendous hurt and a need to save women, because of a long ago presumed failure on his behalf. JJ and Jonas are perfect together...they are each other's nemesis...or they would have you to believe they are. Their banter alone keeps the book moving and you, as the reader, holding your side in stitches. However, as JJ's past begins to catch up with her, she turns to Jonas for help, and Jonas will leave no stone unturned to protect her, but he needs her to completely trust him, by completely opening up to him. Yet, JJ may not be sure she can do that, because she is ashamed of her past and the secret it entails.

This is the first novel I have read of M. Malone and Nana Malone, I really enjoyed the description of this novel but when I began to read it I felt really thrown off I don't know if it's because it felt like you needed to know some other information it felt really out of place for me and it kind of made me a little confused. I loved the protection security business place and that they had together. I liked how it worked especially in terms of helping abused women who may have trouble with domestic abuse as well as other disgusting people.
I loved the banter that Jonas and JJ had together and that they had a fiery connection with banter and I did love the scenes that they were together and when they were bantering with each other it truly was one of my favourite parts of the novel. I just had slight trouble connecting to the characters and I don't know why. Whether it could be because I wasn't in the mood for this story I don't really know.
That cliffhanger! It was amazing, the cliffhanger I want to read the next book I'm thinking maybe a re-read of this one in order first.

Wow what a great book. I have never read these authors before, either separate or together, and I can say that's a shame. The suspense and action in this book kept me hoping. I could feel the emotions of this book and was wowed by the writing as a whole. The book was seamless, the characters solid, definately a must read. This story is told in third person.

First, let me say that I am quickly becoming addicted to the writing duo of M. Malone and Nana Malone, though I have to point out, the cliffhangers positively kill me! If you’ve read the Shameless series about Noah and Lucia, then you’ll recognize JJ (Jennifer Jones) and Jonas Castillo, not to mention the rest of motley crew in the book. While it’s not necessary to have read the Shameless series before reading Force, it will probably help you get a much better understanding of the characters and the back story.
Jonas works for Noah at his security company, JJ is best friends with Noah’s wife, Lucia. Jonas and JJ live to needle each other, and JJ is a loud, proud and fiesty woman who balks at the fact she has protection. (this is where it helps to have read Shameless) Since Lucia’s past problems, they keep an eye on JJ as well. JJ wakes one night to smoke in her apartment, and while she tries to see past it, she thinks she sees someone in her apartment. Luckily, she is rescued by Jonas. JJ doesn’t admit it to anyone, but she’s dealt with a past full of abuse. While she ends up at the company penthouse, she still has incidents crop up that she can’t explain. Jonas tries to get her to fess up as to what is going on with her, but JJ wants to keep that part of her life buried, until she can’t anymore.
The relationship with her and Jonas is electric and fun to watch, and when we finally get to the point where JJ lets Jonas in on what has been going on, typical Malone havoc and cliffhanger sets in! Really frustrating, but left me clamoring for more! I am really excited to see where this story goes, and I also hope these ladies write about the other guys in the group...Oskar, Matthias...especially Matthias. You’ll be hanging on to the edge of your seat!

This was a very fast read for me. I picked it up and before I knew it I was done with the book. The author paints one hell of a story. Touching on a subject not many people talk about but should.
JJ and Jonas have so much chemistry but they're the only ones who don't see it. They are constantly messing with each other. Coming up with funny one liners to stump the other one into silence. So it comes to no ones surprise when they end up boning each other into oblivion. But as all is this is happening JJ is trying to run from past situations and past lives.
Thinking she is safe now she moves on with her life. She has great friends and Jones. Things seem to be going right in her mind. Until one fateful day something turns her world upside down. Threatening the life she has made for herself and loves.
I really truly wanted to get into this book. But I couldn't really connect with the characters. The sex scenes were hot and the one liners were funny. But from one chapter to the next there were details missing. Also, even though this is book one of the duet. I felt as if I had to read previous novels to understand what was going on. I felt a little bit lost.
Although I truly want to find out what happens to these characters I don't think I will be picking up the next book in the duet. Please note, even though I didn't like the story it doesn't mean it's a bad book. It just means it wasn't my cup of tea. Everyone should read it and form their own opinion. - By Vanessa

After reading M. Malone and Nana Malones previous Shame series, I was left in desperate need for Lucia's best friend JJ's (Jessica) story.
JJ masks her past with her sassiness. Keeping her past secret hasn't been easy and when it starts looking like her past is coming back for seconds, she turns to Jonas for help. Even though they've been firing banter back and forth for years, there's always been this underlying attraction between them. Seriously the chemistry between these two is hot.
Jonas seems like he's got it all together but he hasn't had the easiest of times either. With his own painful story to tell, you get to see what's made him into the man he is today.
I loved JJ and Jonas. I loved watching their relationship change and grow but of course nothing ever runs smoothly. When danger threatens not only JJ, but Lucia and Noah too, the Blake security guys aren't going to stand by and watch it happen.

I'll be the first to admit that I absolutely HATE cliffhangers. However, I kinda figure that it would be when I started since the second book comes out about two weeks after this one. Also, (according to the page count) there are approximately 175 pages in this book which makes it a bit better since a lot of cliffhangers are fifty to one hundred pages and therefore half a story.
Force was written so well. It kept me on the edge of my seat and looking over my shoulder. While the topic can be difficult for some (domestic violence and its consequences), you don't actually see physical violence. However the psychological terror of being stalked (or am I just losing my mind?) was intense and gripping. Once I started Force I could hardly put it down. It goes quickly and I absolutely cannot wait for the next book.

Wow! When I realized the Security Team from the Shame series was on going I tried to guess who would be next. Smart mouthed JJ and Jonas are great together. One of my favorite comes backs is when she tells the guys to eat a bowl of d*&ks. Yep, the girl has a mouth and isn't afraid to use it. In fact, no one thinks she's afraid of anything. She is. Her past. The past she hasn't shared with anyone, even her BFF Lucia. When things don't feel right....well, you need to read to find out.
I will tell you that no one has ever had a stronger, more lethal group of protectors. Are they enough when her past rears his ugly head?
Jonas and JJ are fun to watch while they fight their feelings. Even more fun when they start to acknowledge them. The team's reaction is hysterical.
I can't wait for the second part and end after we are left with murder on our minds with the actions of the bad guy. You're gonna have to read this one.

Jonas and JJ are fun to watch while they fight their feelings. Even more fun when they start to acknowledge them. The team's reaction is hysterical.
I can't wait for the second part and end after we are left with murder on our minds with the actions of the bad guy. You're gonna have to read this one.

I really loved the Shame trilogy and hoped to see the supporting characters get their own story, so I was excited when JJ and Jonas got their own series. You do not need to read the Shame series to read this book, but it is well worth getting to know the characters back story from reading the earlier series.
I love JJ's independent spirit and her sassy comments crack me up. Jonas's alpha tendencies are sorely tested by JJ's desire to do things her way and this leaves her vulnerable to a threat she thought was in the past. Their relationship begins with verbal foreplay, striking sparks that turn into a full fledged fire when they come together. This book invites the reader to see what makes Jonas' so protective of women and JJ so wary of giving a man control. Jonas's past equips him to handle and overcome JJ's secret fear. As they finally come together, her past comes knocking. Warning - this book ends with a cliff hanger. I am looking forward to what happens in the next book.Force

What a great start to a new series featuring some old favorites! With an interesting plot, impressive writing, and colorful and passionate characters, you just couldn’t ask for more from a romantic suspense book. These characters that we’ve come to love from the last series simply explode off the page. They completely draw you into the story and you just can’t help but become obsessed with their lives and relationships. The chemistry between Jonas and JJ is beyond amazing! Watching their relationship grow from catty remarks and longing glances into a true love affair is simply a joy. These two are never boring. They are cantankerous and they push each other’s buttons and both can be a handful at times, but always the love shines through. This book is impassioned and exciting, romantic and witty, provocative and intriguing, and absolutely riveting. I, quite literally, could not put it down. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a sexy and compelling read.

Who doesn't love a story of a hot, sexy Alpha male and a gorgeous, feisty female??
That's what you get with Force. Jonas Castillo and Jessica 'JJ' Jones are part of the large 'family' that is Blake Security. The love/hate relationship they share is HOT and the banter is snappy and funny. The claim they want nothing to do with each other until disaster strikes for JJ and Jonas is her knight in shining armour. Now she's his to protect and he wouldn't have it any other way. Forced to spend time together they learn some of the same things darken their pasts and that they don't hate each other as much as they thought, especially between the sheets!!
Can love win out for the inevitable young couple of will their pasts come back to haunt and taint what they've found??? Check out this well written story of love and hate, ups and downs, twists and turns, cause it all surely keeps you on your toes and turning those pages.

JJ is Lucia’s best friend and she has worked hard to overcome her past to become the strong independent person that she has become but it appears that her past is not quite finished with her.
Jonas is protective, loyal and has an innate sense of responsibility to help those who can’t help themselves and feel there is no hope or way out. He feels guilt from his past and this is his way to atone for not being able to the help the one person who mattered the most.
I loved these two characters as they challenge and fight their feeling for each other. They both keep their pasts private but when they open up the connection between them becomes so much deeper and you still have the suspense and twists that this author excels at. Force is the first book in the Force Duet and features the same characters that you know and love from the Shameless series however it is not necessary to read the Shameless series first.
