Desiree hates vampire life. She never wanted to live as a blood-drinking fiend. Shy and inexperienced, she lingers in her tomb drawing while others do the work of the clan. But when her sire orders her to hunt on the streets of Portland, things fall apart and a homeless man ends up dead.

Xerxes pumps iron and fights fires. Life is simple, life is good, but something's missing--until he meets cute and quirky Desiree. But this chance encounter turns deadly when her clan frames him for the homeless man’s death. He's flung into the deep end of the netherworld pool and he can't swim.

Unwilling to send Xerxes to prison for her mistakes, Desiree defies her clan and mounts a rescue. All the while, she's trying to hide her vampirism--and her attraction--to Xerxes. But how long can she hold it together? How long can they hide from not only the police, but an entire vampire kingdom?

Night is Magic is a complete, standalone HEA novel without cliffhangers. If you love paranormal romance and happy endings, give it a bite...

PNA romance, drama and some action. Desiree got herself in a bit of trouble and someone else will be going down for it all. This was sexy, sweet, dark, and dangerous. There was so much her. I enjoyed going back in to this series. Xerxes was not at first the me man, me strong, me alpha, me, me, me. He seemed more like there was something not quite right with him. That left me a bit confused. I caught on and them things moved by quickly for me. Xerxes was sweet. Here, here for a beta man.

Dez is a vampire that never wanted to be turned. Xerxes is a sweet gullible oaf that got caught up in another vampire's killing. Dez wants to help him escape trouble and he wants to help her escape her powerful clan. Even though this is dark and suspenseful it's also sweet and cute!

I really liked it! I look forward to other stories in this series.

Stud Puppy and Amazing Woman

The characters were great and the story line was even better....except I felt like at first the author was making Xerxes sound like he was slow...like he had a mental problem. But reading more he was just shy and not "worldly" as they say. But Dez was the same way...all in all it was a good read. Love is strong and can run deep.

She is diff than any kind of camp ever known but she kept her morals after being turned. Her site seems 2 have a soft heart under the rough interior. Even when that psycho bitch killed a innocent man she has a good deed of stepping up 2 try and make it rt. again. She should b able 2 go on with her life but when they try 2 blame another innocent 4 murder she wants 2 protect especially after she got 2 know him better. Even then falling in love is a gamble 2 her cause she's torn apart by trying 2 protect him and wanting him 4 her own. It's pretty good. It was boring 4 a while then it started picking up 4 me 2 start getting into it more.
