Since I was a little girl, I’ve made up stories. I would lay in my bed at night and before I knew what a trope was, I would make up these trope filled stories. Boy sees girl, boys falls for girl, boy saves girl….happily ever after. As I got older, the stories turned steamier and more intricate, but the basics never changed.

Now, my books are still full of romance but the naughty bits are naughtier, my hero’s are obsessed alpha types and my heroines are quirky, real women who come in all shapes and sizes.

So, sit back, banish the real world and get lost in some over the top romance with a heaping helping of hot. xoxoxo

Roxie wanted Black with everything she had, but all she got from him was the token consideration, the cold shoulder, and his looks of indifference. Little did she know that Black wanted to own her, but kept his distance out of respect for her father, who was not only his business partner, but his dear friend. When Black gets the go ahead though… Nothing was going to stop him from laying his claim on Roxie and showing her the beast she was going to love. Keeping Her Close was a short, hot and steamy kind of read. There was no trace of romance to be found, however, if you’re looking for some kinky, smutty fckery, then you’ve definitely come to the right place.

**ARC RECEIVED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW **

Dani Wyatt promised a short and hot read and she delivered. This is a little darker sexually - bondage, discipline etc- but it was safe and very hot.

-no cheating
-no ow/om drama
-neither were virgins, but neither were with others after meeting
-safe
-steamy sex scenes
-hero kept heroine at arms length out of respect for her father, biding his time until her father approved but it was prior to the start of the book
-decent epilogue

The story's good. It's a little dark and I liked it because it's still safe. The dark side of the story is between the H and h so it didn't bother me.

It's about Black and Roxie.

They wanted each other for six years but he's never shown any interest in her out of respect for her father who's also a friend and a father-figure to him.

Now that he got his blessing, it's time for him to claim her.

It has a nice epilogue.

I'm falling behind in my reading challenge so a short book seemed like the perfect plan plus I liked the cover and the blurb.

While it was obvious from the blurb there was going to be a lot of sex in this book once the introductions had been made it was just about all sex, now while I have no issue with lots of hot sex in books I do like balance which I felt I didn't get here.
It also ended at 70% which was earlier than expected.

I have to be honest and say I didn't enjoy this book as much as I thought I would but looking at the reviews I think it's a case of it's me not the book.
I really wanted more at the beginning plus while I'm all in favour of being healthy in real life but I do prefer my fiction men to be a little more badass, I expected Black to be more of a rough hard biker and to find him drinking health smoothies (Hemp seed and pea protein) in a bar just wasn't what I really wanted.

I liked that he was finally going to claim Roxie but again I wanted more at the end I would have preferred the last 30% to be filled with Roxie and Black not 'Just Until Morning'

This was good but it definitely needed to be longer, the characters fleshed out a bit more, and I wanted to see more of their everyday life together after they got married. But Dani Wyatt is an author that I one click without thought.

Not bad

Its not a bad book, but I don't think it is as much about love and attraction as it is of him trying to dominate her to the point it is almost abusive. I think it pays lip service to say he does it for her because he 'loves her' but I really didn't feel that in this book. Its such a shame because I usually like Dani Wyatt books and feels the MCs have a lot of good chemistry between them.

This is a quick, sexy, kinky read and it's a great story.
Black runs The Long Draw bar for the owner, Malcom.
Roxie is the untouchable daughter of Malcom. Roxie has a thing for Black. She has wanted him for the last six years. What she doesn't know is that Black has wanted her for those same six years. Malcom, is going to serve 18 months in prison for tax evasion, thanks to the accountant.
Now Black and Roxie are going to the cabin for 2 weeks and will be going on in the cabin is the story...
This hot, kinky, and you don't want to miss finding out.

Six years of loving, lusting, craving, denial, and indifference. Wait? Two of these things are not like the others. Let me do a flashback scene...*cue the music*

Six years prior, circumstances landed Black in hell, Hell, Michigan, that is, when his car broke down. Black, in all his confidence and possible desperation, made him self an employee of Malcolm's, albeit an unpaid one. But, over a month's time, he more than proved his worth, and loyalty, and is now Malcolm's right-hand man. His biggest reason for staying can be summed up with one name...Roxie. Yes, the boss's daughter, his seventeen-year-old daughter, hence the denial and indifference I mentioned above. Black has oh so slowly bided his time, knowing he couldn't hold out for much longer. When he's given Malcolm's approval, the situation isn't in any way what he imagined.

When Malcolm, having trusted the wrong person, is facing eighteen months for someone else's illegal activities, he entrusts Black with his bar, legally signing it over to him for the duration of his incarceration, and, most important of all, his daughter. Malcolm knows how Black and Roxie feel about one another, he's seen it, even if Black tries to hide it, therefore, he gives his blessing.

Roxie has had a crush on Black since day one, and over the years it's matured and strengthened. Unfortunately, it isn't returned, thus she's resigned herself to move forward and let Black go, emotionally. To do so, she needs to get away and receives the okay from her dad to stay at the cabin while he's gone. She didn't find out until too late that her dad had one condition...Black would be going with her, even if only for two weeks, or so she believes.

Black's patience has finally given out and shortly upon arriving at the cabin, he begins informing Roxie of how things are going to be from now on. Pushy? Maybe, but he senses, he just knows, Roxie wants everything he has to offer her, and, he's right. Both Black and Roxie thoroughly enjoy their time at the cabin, quickly making their union official, before embarking on their HEA.

One-click now and follow along as two people, both containing their feelings for each other for years, finally come together as permission is given, allowing them to break free of the restraints previously binding their love for one another. For those concerned with safety, such as myself, Black did not touch nor even think about another woman in those six years. He was completely devoted to Roxie, and, prior to that was never a manwhore. Bless you, Dani! I did struggle with one thing, see below, but I still enjoyed the book and am glad I read it.

On a purely personal note, I like the premise, the sex is intense, Black is dominant and Roxie is sassy, and I like that both had been celibate as they waited for this moment, one six years in the making. With that being said, however, though this book was everything it was intended to be, I wish we were shown the love Black is supposed to have for Roxie, instead of just the lust, the desire he has to possess her, completely, and how he, essentially, seems to view her as property, a vessel for whatever he wants to do her, not as the love of his life. That bothered me. I like the dominance, but I also like being able to see the love between the two main characters, and I wasn't given the latter here. It's almost as if his only connection, only reason for being with her, is of a sexual nature, as opposed to any sort of emotional one. Sit with her, talk, watch a show together, take a walk and hold hands, anything other than constantly sticking something of yours in her. Treat her as a person, your one, at some point. Then again, Roxie seems to revel in his actions, his *her word* brutality, and yes, to each his own, but it doesn't show me any love other than his to use her body for anything he wishes. Though he does, toward the end, tell Roxie he loves her, and in the epilogue we're given more of it and see the depth of his devotion to her, I just would've preferred to see more of that throughout it.

I Voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book

This is short novella about Black who just took over the bar from his friend, when he had to go to jail because of tax evasion. So he promises to take care of his friends daughter. The daughter that Black has been in love with since he first saw Roxie.

Roxie has been in love with Black since the moment he walked into her fathers bar. But she thought that Black didn't have any feelings for her. But she's about to find out exactly how Black feels about her.

This is a HOT STEAMY SEXY story about a guy who does everything in his power to show his women all the passion he feels for her. Claiming her as his women!

Wowzer! Was this story ever HOT! This was the perfect balance between story length, plot development, character strengths and steamy hot scenes. I have always loved shorter stories because life is so random it might take me a while to finish a longer read. This story gave me everything I wanted and needed in one hot package. I really hope this author decides to continue the MFD stories because she knocked this on out of the park! Definitely add this to your reading list and buy as soon as you can, you will not be disappointed.

KEEPING HER CLOSE is an extremely hot novella about Black and his boss' daughter, Roxie. He waited six years for her. He loved her from afar but kept her close. When he finally got her father's blessing, he showed her the intensity of his passion and love for her. The heat level of this book was so off the charts it's an understatement. And from the first page to the last, this quick MFD read was absolute perfection!

I have read an advanced copy of this book and this is a fair and honest review and recommendation voluntarily shared.

This didn't go how I thought it would, kinda went dark and dirty out of nowhere and right off the bat, a little too strong for me based on the quickness of the story. Not something I'd read again but that's just personal preference, nothing negatively against the writers writing or story which I gave 4 stars for.

Keeping Her Close by Dani Wyatt
I wasn’t sure what I was expecting when I dove head first into this Smuttiness of a book.

This story is the first story I have read by the author, and if you are looking for a non-romance story but a slice of kinky smuttiness this one is for you. I mean there is some I love you but… just read it and you will understand!

Roxie and Black have both wanted each other, but couldn’t have each other. Keeping her close is short story, it wouldn’t take more than a couple of hours for a slower reader maybe an hour for a fast reader. It ends at 70% its short!

From then you get a second story, I didn't read that one though!

I didn’t enjoy this as much as I would any other smut book, I like romance with my sex! Like Alexa Riley smut Is 100% on point!

I think for what it is for me, I am giving the book 2.5-3 stars
An ARC was given for an honest opinion.

Keeping her Close is a short novella that brings a bit of darkness along with the sweet. While I think some people will not be a huge fan of the dark parts, I was intrigued. However, I'm a huge dark romance lover so when I get in the mindset for a book like that, I like it really dark. So I was a bit torn. I wanted to embrace it but it just fell a bit short for me.

I liked both Black and Roxie but I just didn't connect to them. Maybe it's because I felt like there wasn't enough story to allow that. It seems like the entire book was just them having sex.

Unfortunately, this book didn't do it for me but I seem to be in the minority here so please, give it a  try. If you are looking for an over the top alpha dripping with kink, then this might be the book for you.

Who's the alpha of the alpha's you ask....that would be Black. Once he made his move, he did not f*ck around. Was up front with what he wanted and literally told Roxie exactly what it was. These two were pretty hot. He probably kept her in bed the first week they were together *winks*.

This was a safer read, which I appreciate and there was an epilogue, which I also appreciated. Always love Dani Wyatt books.

This one's a bit darker than the norm for Ms. Wyatt, but it was still an enjoyable story. I wish it was a bit longer and better developed because I liked the characters and wanted more depth to them, but as a D/s short story that's smutty yet safe, I liked it quite a lot.

the only other time I've encountered bdsm in this severe manner was fifty shades (it might not be severe to others but for me it is) I didn't like it then and after giving it another shot I don't like it now either. It's not that I disagree with it or think people shouldn't do it, but it's hard for me to understand how this is showing affection when he treats her like this from the get go not even kissing her before diving in to a life of bdsm that she either has to want too or she can't make the guy she loves happy (it didn't really exactly say this, it's just what I got from the situation)
It was definitely more a smut story than a love story, although there were times he said sweet things, it was always during the harsh sex they were having and so I just couldn't call it sweet.

Basically what I'm saying is the story was probably a really good short dirty read for those of you who like this sort of thing, it just wasn't for me.

***bonus points for a hero who remains celibate after meeting heroine even though he has to wait years to be with her, he doesn't even consider going with the girls that approach him and flirt with him.

Keeping Her Close is a short, and super sexy read that I LOVED! I'll simply break it down....Roxie wanted Black with everything in her, but he wouldn't bite. All she gets from him is indifference, but what she doesn't know is that he wants her as well, but since she's his business partner, and friend's daughter, he won't go there out of respect. When he finally gets the green light, he won't let anything stand in his way to make her his. And that's when the games began. Dani Wyatt, with her talented writing style, wrote one hell of a scorching HAWT story that will melt anything near it, so be warned, no pair of panties are safe. And even though it was short, I became fully invested with the characters, plus it fed my secret dark & twisty side nicely! The only thing that I could whine about, is that I wanted it to be longer! With all that being said, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Red hot!!

The blurb states this is a hot quickie and that is a perfect description…this is a short, steamy erotic romance which ,once started, I could not put down…..

Black is an intense filthy talking guy, ultra possessive and protective towards Roxie the soul object of his kinky desires…whilst Black is a strong dominant personality who fills the page… Roxie’s character was more shallow and less developed….there are no hearts and flowers with this romance theirs is a primitive, carnal kind of love…and together the chemistry is off the scale..

This is an entertaining, drama free sexy story ideal if you are looking for a bit of escapism and time is short …..this novella was reviewed for Summer's Eve Reads
