Welcome to Purgatory - a world where anything can happen.
Liam Vanderbilt is now a hero. With his constant companions Meg and Thethis, he has used mind, body and soul to help the people of Purgatory. But when a burning valkyrie falls from the sky, he must take on his hardest and most personal mission yet: to kill God himself.
First though, Liam must travel half way across the world, matching wits with Brax, a cunning lizardman general, and facing temptation in the form of a devilishly sexy nun called Mary.
The Cross Guard is a 45,000 word erotic epic fantasy novella set in Purgatory, an alternative Bronze Age world of sensual eroticism and crackling magic. Liam, Meg and Thethis will return in The Blood Groove for more adventure, intrigue and sexual experimentation.
A mysterious and powerful dragon dwelling in a large, possibly misty mountain, Dragon Cobolt has a massive pile of gold and a yen for writing. Writing and putting his/her (being a shapeshifter has its advantages) stories out in the marketplace since late 2016, Dragon Cobolt is just glad to entertain.
He sometimes masquerades as a humble human, and uses the facade that Dragon Cobolt is merely an internet persona to throw adventuring parties off his tail.

Don't really like the direction this story is going. I liked the first book, and I understood the Liam's mission for the second book, but I didn't really understand what Liam was doing in this book. Now that all the information in the Ipod is out, I don't see why Liam is such a big deal anymore. It has been about a year since he has been in Purgatory and during that time he has made a name for himself going on missions for Sobek. I can't go into too much detail without giving away spoilers Not really liking the direction this one is going and based on reviews I have read for the next book, it doesn't look like it is going to get better. I think I am done with this series.
this one got a little creepy I've absolutely loved Purgatory Wars until this book, and then it got weird. An awkward not so sexy kinda weird. I just don't enjoy scenes of cuckoldry or mas crucifixion of innocent towns folk. That's just not why I read erotic fiction, and things that make me feel queasy spoil the mood. Cross Guard took me three tries to finish with long breaks in between. I only tried again because I loved book 1 & 2 so much. Here's hoping that book #4 Blood Groove is back up to the usual standard, or just a lot more fun.
addendum: The Main character here is in harem type polyamorous relationship, and he still has more sex on the side. what's surprising in this book is that the MC has the emotional maturity to not be a flaming hypocrite when his girl friend has sex with another male. he's totally casual about it and that made me feel all kinds of conflicted, and aware of my hypocrisy as a reader which didn't make me feel any better about any of it. That Cuckoldry became something of a theme in this book honestly bothered me. I guess I lack the emotional maturity of the MC, but I'm not sure that I want it. Secondarily, introducing a sexy fetish nun as a love interest in a field of crucified people with blood, flies, and voided bowels was just grotesque. was the writer drunk on cough syrup? That was just icky.
I like the 6 book series so far. Working on number 4. Lots of monster sex, not gamer heavy. Needs some editing for clarity and continuity But kind of hot. And his history is impressive in scope, religious, mythical, modern and. Current content
