Like another reviewer has stated, I usually really enjoy Marie Ferrarella's books, but this one, not so much. The main character, Miranda, seemed too perfect to be true with all her volunteer roles, and I didn't feel like her character went on a journey at all - she didn't seem to have any flaws whatsoever (except for working too hard, which she managed well).
Similarly, the main male character, Colin, just seemed grumpy and unlikeable most of the time. And although his backstory was mentioned, I didn't feel like any changes in him were gradual - one minute he was his usual grumpy self and the next he was desperate to move in with Miranda.
Also, although the story was set at Christmas it didn't have loads of Christmas references, I could have read it at any time of the year. It's just a personal thing, but when I read stories set at Christmas I like them to go all out with Christmas details!
All in all, an easy read, but I have read better.
