I read this book while down with a summer cold. The first book starts off sad but is enjoyable, I couldn't get in to the second book at all seemed confusing what they were upset about all the time. The third book offered more clarity but was also a more difficult read for me just didn't have much joy and honestly I read christian fiction because I want joy.
I find these stories entertaining and fresh. It's so nice to read something that is faith based and not full of ugly words or immorality. I also enjoy learning the different words of the Amish language.
Three stories by 3 generations of the Brunstetter family telling the story of a Christmas quilt that gets passed down to 3 generations of an Amish family. This is not a Christmas story per se as the handing down of the quilt happens when the women who receive it get married however each generation experiences Christmas at some point.
This is the most sweetest book I've read in a very long time. It is so heart warming and loving that I wish I was Amish sometimes. They seem to be very God loving people.
Luella was a good friend to Dena and her small family during Dena's illness. What will happen later , you need to buy the full book to finish the story. Will Luella have her own life or will it be wrapped around the widowed Atlee and his small son?
Wanda and her daughter and granddaughter kept me entranced to the very end! Each story flowed into the next so seamlessly! Fascinating how this quilt affected each generation. Wished I had a quilt like that!
Enjoyed this story. The characters are believable. Yes I would recommend. Love good clean stories. Just a preview but worth the read. It doesn't end so you do need the rest to find out the ending.
Sometimes a person's faith is shaken a bit. Such as when a close family Member or friend dies. But then keeping ones face turned to GOD soon has you back in his
This book had a lot of potential, but is poorly edited. Vernon and Jethro’s names are mistakenly interchanged numerous times within the same paragraph. The same is true with perspective in laws and counselors.
This book tackles a sensitive subject straight on which I appreciated! Yet, the manner in which it was approached seemed non-Amish. The mindset was mostly English in approach which made the story unbelievable.
If you rewrite this story please let me know and I will update my review. In its current state, I cannot recommend it.
A great book with 3 stories written by 3 generations. The characters show up in each book. Love the way these stories are written. If you love Amish fiction you will to.
I didn't think this was great literature, but it was an enjoyable read. My first foray into Amish Fiction. I didn't even know it was a thing until this year.
The Beloved Christmas Quilt: Three Stories of Family, Romance and Amish Faith by Wanda E. Brunstetter, Jean Brunstetter and Richelle Brunstetter
All three stories are tied together by a beautiful quilt that is passed down from generation to generation. The lives of these Amish women all face life challenges, loss, romance and love, second chances and faith. There is hope and God’s promise within the scripture verse lovingly stitched into the quilt, "For Thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for Thy name's sake lead me, and guide me. Psalm 31:3", (KJV...one of my favorite verses) that in time bring comfort, hope and peace to each woman. A collection of heartwarming stories.
