I received this audio book in exchange for an honest review.

I have followed in this entire series from the beginning. Over the course of following the halflings and their mates I have come to realize that Sarah J. Stone's transitions are not well done. There were moments within the story where I felt as though she jumps from one instance to another and I have no clue on what happened. I don't remember specifically another book where this has occurred but I did wonder how we got to one scene to another without a clear transition.

I enjoyed Dallas and Blaine's love affair. It was super brief and there was not a lot of scenes focused on them. The story focused more on the battle that is upcoming. We got to meet wolves and witches and also the nymphs got some story time as well. I understand that this is a short quick read however I would like to have more time with the couple rather than everyone else. It seems as though everyone who were introduced in previous books had scenes within this book as well.

I don't know if the upcoming books, Jaz, Dixon, and Adrian will have the same issues that the previous books have when it comes to transitions and a lack of couple building. Here is not hoping not because the war seems to be heating up and I don't want to have book whiplash when it comes to these books.

I liked this story, even though I have not read all of the ones that came before it. This was a little bit of a problem, but not so much that I couldn't follow along with the events.

Blane is a dragon-shifter. Apparently, his kind carries both a male and female conscious. They go crazy if they can't find their mate and give up half of their dragons to the mate. Blane finds his mate, but she is a human that is dying of cancer and he is not sure he can win her over in time to save her life with his dragon. On top of that, his is an empath and is usually in pain from all the feelings his tribe leaks out like water. Currently, his Alpha's mate is ready to give birth and he is the lucky guy that gets to "experience" her labor with her. And then there is the witch that wants him to go with her to her Council meeting where she expects to be in deep doo-doo. In other words, his life sucks.

Dallas is dying of cancer and has come to Stratham to see a doctor that practices alternative medicine in the hopes that he can help her. She meets Blane in the waiting room at the hospital and he immediately knows he has finally found his mate, but since she has no idea that shifters even exist he has his work cut out for him.

Things will go from bad to worse. There is a new wolf pack in town. Dallas' sister plans to visit, and oh yeah, there is an assassin running around focused on killing all the dragons. Sheesh.

I read an ARC of this book and am voluntarily writing this review.

Blane was my first foray into a dragon shifter world, and I am in awe by its beauty, intensity, and wonder. I was not disappointed in the least, and I hated to see it end. It opened my mind to a new world that caught me completely by surprise and left me wanting so much more. This is a world that I plan to return to very soon. The storyline was mesmerizing and the characters were wonderful!

Watching the story unfold me was a stunning treasure that I cherished and savored. The beautiful characters made me feel everything they felt, and I couldn’t get enough of the brilliance of their journey. Even the dark times brought a beauty of its own to the overarching plot that caught my breath at its depth and creativity.

This is an author that you want to indulge in over and over again. She is a jewel in the paranormal genre, and you do not want to miss out on her unique talent. It will awaken your heart and open your eyes to the things in life that mean the most. Do not let this amazing author slip by because she will rock your world and leave you breathless and changed.

The narration was amazing! I enjoyed every second of the incredible performance. The story took on such a heady meaning as a result, and I drank in every drop. The written word has such a power, but whenever you add the human voice to it, its power becomes boundless.

This is one of those series that surrounds you with warmth and a false sense of harmony only to slingshot you into the coldest of nights shattering your heart to once again gather you within its warmth making you feel whole again -
Yes -that sums up the journey you will take when you enter the world of Stone's Stratham Shifters - Unlike most shifters, they carry the conscience of both their dragon their mates - this makes the journey of finding their mate a very delicate and highly prioritized mission.

Blane broke my heart in a few ways - He is an empath and it costs him dearly to be around those he loves - but it is a price he pays willingly
Dallas - How do you face your future knowing your life is most likely coming to an end? For Dallas, it is with the last request of dignity and the stubborn notion of preventing those she loves from suffering her loss - A beautiful and strong heroine
But she has hit a snag in her perfectly little-oiled plans -
The dragon conscience within Blane recognizes that Dallas has no time to waste and merges souls without her consent or knowledge

Can Blane save her? Is Dallas strong enough to leave the peace she has found in the in between to return to a life she believes is still riddled with pain and an ending that may destroy her sister?

So excited to be back with the Stratham Shifters! I have only missed a few books at the beginning, but I have loved each story I read and there is enough detail, you are able to understand what is going on, but reading them all is what I plan on doing.. Sarah has created such wonderful characters that you can't help but fall in love with them. Blane was at the hospital because his King and Queen were having a baby. It was draining him, as an empath, but he was there to help the Queen stay calm. He left the room for a breather and he found his mate in the waiting room. He was thrilled because he had been getting sicker by the day without his mate. Dallas had cancer and was there waiting to see the witch doctor for a last ditch effort to be cured. This is one wild ride full of twists and turns that are surprising and emotional. So much happens in this story I cannot possibly do it justice in my review, so just go ahead and read it! There's love, family, friendship, good vs evil, witches, wolves, hot sex, and lots of excitement! I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. Can't wait til the next book...

This is only a 3.5⭐ Book for me. All the rest in the series have been 4's & 5's . I love the characters and i even understand the change in how Dallas gets her dragon ( please read tge books in order so you will understand the importance of how the dragon exchange occurs). My problem with this book is the last 4 chaprters have major inconsistencies , tgat have a dead family member coming for a visit ? A villian being protected by allies ? It's just not one of tge Authors better books . I will definitely read the next book in hopes that tgese problems have been dealt with and the book is back up to being a 4 or 5 ⭐ read. I received a gifted copy of the book and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.

AUDIOBOOK edition

A short story, but lots happening. Blane finds his mate, Dallas, then almost lost her. With the nymphs, the witches, the pack of wolf shifters, the rabid dragon shifter assassin out for blood, no wonder the dragon shifter tribe is barely holding on despite most of them finding their mates. The story is a bit scattered, got lost a few times, but I was able to find my way back. Blane and Dallas get their HEA, but did she have to loose her sister? We are left with a few loose ends opening the door for the next stories. - 3 stars

I like listening to Mr. Brown's voices, although I had to replay sections at times because he spoke too fast for my ears. - 4 stars

Blane by Sarah J. Stone is book #5 in the Stratham Shifters series. I have not read any of the other books in this series but would like to after reading this one. It would be helpful to read this series in order to have a complete picture of the series and characters. I cant tell you which of these characters broke my heart more. So much pain they each suffered. Full of emotions and drama it is a book that I recommend for fans of shifters, magic and emotional romances. I am posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.

An Instant Pull..

This story line centers around, Blane, the male dragon lead, and

Dallas, the female lead.

Blane and Dallas are both almost out of time until they have a

chance encounter and Blane can't take his eyes off of Dallas.

Overall, a good read with filled with hope, romance, and interesting

characters.

Connor Brown did well with the narration.

Four stars!!

Like all the other stories, I liked the concept of dual dragons. Also, the family that keeps growing. However, also like the other stories, I felt that the story and characters needed more depth.

Blane and Dallas' story is both happy and heart wrenching. I like the introduction of new supernatural species, however I hope a story for Max is not lost in the mix. I also want to know how the dragon's troubles are resolved. Continuing to reach the series.

Blane

I wonder if she is confusing the scent of Max with Jaz's own because he was there, I really hope that is the case. I'm glad Blane found his mate but sad she lost her sister.

Okay read

This series gets a little better with each book but is not one of the best fantasy fiction series, it has great potential but somehow just doesn't have you gripped and excited. The writing is a little stiff and you just don't get a feeling that the author enjoys writing this, there are also a lot of typo errors which can be annoying. This episode features Blane and his mate Dallas but there are also a number of subplots running in the background but most of these are left in mid air with no clue as to a conclusion maybe more will be clear in future books. Each book feels more like an episode in a long running serial than a book.
