Harry Channing works at a major London trading bank climbing his way up the corporate ladder as a fast and savvy share trader. When he discovers an insider trading scam involving his colleagues he takes his concerns to the management. But Harry learns the hard way that honesty does not always pay when he realises that he has been set up to be the fall guy.
Harry’s whole life changes as he faces challenges to his honesty, his loyalties and ultimately to the choices he has to make between those he loves and those that want to see him fail.
Descending into the murky waters of rogue diamond traders Harry knows he has to grow a very tough skin if he is to succeed in this frightening new world. A world laced with exotic women and controlled by very dangerous men - all with one thing on their mind - money.
With a childhood fear of flying and a total disdain for violence Harry has to rely on his brains instead of brawn to overcome the seemingly insurmountable odds stacked against him.
And when he suspects that those he thought of as his friends could turn out to be his worst enemies, Harry is tormented by the need to confront his fears head on or to run and hide away from the demons of his past.
Cracking crime thriller set in authentic London locations
This is an enjoyable crime caper that follows the fortunes of our hero, boring banker Harry. But he is a man whose principles get sorely tested by members of his family when he leaves the world of investment banking to join the family business... but what is their business? Harry's adventures take him from London club land to Amsterdam and beyond as he enters a deadly game not knowing who to trust. A thoroughly entertaining read from a debut author - looking forward to the next instalment of Harry's adventures...
A thriller with a good dose of British black humour and so many twists and turns neither the reader nor our hero know who to trust. With romance thrown in, this is a novel that will appeal to a variety of readers and I can imagine it as a good TV drama or film.
