In the unpredictable Wild West, the law doesn’t always get it right.
And that’s exactly the case for Roaring Springs in Sawtooth County, Kansas.
Buck Leyland and his two pards, Gill Joe and Pat Devlin, are handy with their fists and even handier with a sixgun.
They might not wear a sheriff’s star on their fronts, but that hasn’t stopped them from using force to control the situations that the law just can’t handle.
For years, the only law they recognised was that of the gun.
These days, Buck is beginning to tire of their bullet-spraying ways, but as they ride into Roaring Springs, something tells him that this isn’t the end of their violent missions.
The men around here are quick to pick a fight, and within minutes of his arrival, Buck finds himself staring down the barrel of a gun.
What’s making the locals so hostile? It seems he can’t even get himself a drink in the saloon without the word of the sheriff.
But not everyone’s finding it so difficult. Joe and Devlin have both been offered a job with Star B ranch owner, Ward Bodeen, from which Buck is strictly prohibited, and they both seem a little too keen to let him sit this one out.
Something about this situation just doesn’t add up. Surely there’s more to Bodeen’s deal than simply protecting some cattle?
Buck’s determined to get to the bottom of it, but with his two pards gone, he may be on his own this time.
Gun Handy is a tale of friendship and betrayal; a thrilling western adventure.

An author Ruth's different point of view in how western should be portrayed. The action is from the first page to the last. Most of the authors characters are gunmen against the law or gunmen for the law. These two types trade insults, fights and eventually lead. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
