Walk It Out by Tricia Goyer is the most powerful and mind blowing book that I have read this year. Tricia Goyer explores what it means to walk out our faith. It really is so simple – do what God desires us to do. So why do we find it so hard? Why do we complicate it? Why do we resist God’s call on our lives?
Walk It Out is a book that will really change your life if you let it. You need to buy it, read it and apply it to your life. As you rely on God, obeying His words, your faith will grow. As you reach out to help others, your faith will grow. As you learn to put Jesus first in your life, your faith will grow. What are you waiting for?
The book is set out in chapters and then sub divided. Each one has a personal story from Tricia Goyer, followed by a reflection section where you can ponder the questions asked, and finally action steps to help you walk out your faith.
Tricia Goyer’s style is friendly, warm and engaging. As she writes about her life, so you find there are many instances when her life experiences collide with your life experiences. The issues that Tricia Goyer writes about, whilst personal to her, are also universal to us all.
There is a chapter about connecting with God’s heart and knowing your purpose. It is not enough to read God’s word, although that is good in itself, we need to be doers of the Word and we need to know the Author. “It’s not about knowing the Word; it’s about living it.” As we live out our faith, we will discover what breaks our heart. Then we must act on it, in accordance with God’s will. We are God’s eyes and ears, His hands and feet, in a hurting world. We need to shine His love wherever we go.
Sometimes our past keeps us inactive. We think that our past will exclude us from God’s love and plans. God can use our past. God can heal our past and use our experiences to help others. “Jesus doesn’t heal us [of sin] so we can feel better; He wants us to tell others what He has done.” God will use you as you are, where you are and change you in the process. “God does His best work through ill-fitted yet determined servants who willingly follow His directives.”
Tricia Goyer explores how we all have busy lives. We can be so busy working for God that we lose sight of God. God wants us to look to Him and leave space for Him to work. “I bought in to the lie that I needed to do more and get more to be happier.” True happiness is found in knowing God intimately.
There is power in our stories. We need to share them. We need to tell people how we first met Jesus and how He has transformed our lives. If we do not tell our stories, how will people know about Jesus? People are not changed by religion. People are not changed by churches. Perfect book for a time in my life when I am searching for what is next. Inspiring personal stories, but also the conviction that God wants more than my prayers and faith, He wants my action as well.

Instead of writing a review for this book, I will share Tricia Goyer's prayer for the reader and herself, and two sentences she used to end the book.
"Dear Jesus,
Pour out Your presence to us today, and speak through Your Word. May You become known to us as we seek You. Guide us in understanding what makes Your heart break. Help us to reach out to others as we obey. Help us to love and serve as You would here on earth.
Forgive us, Lord, for all the times we've put our own comfort and desires before following You. Thank you, Lord, for Your gentleness in leading us. You don't force us or twist our arms. Instead You stir our hearts and direct us with Your love.
We know the lives of others will be transformed as we step forward in obedience, but more importantly we understand our minds, hearts, spirits, and life's purposes will be changed.

Walk it Out is a challenging, hope-filled book that will show you what it looks like to live out your faith in real-life circumstances. If you have struggled to see God’s path for you and what actions He wants for you to take, this is a fantastic place to start thinking, praying, and making plans.

Wow! If you want to live a life following the status quo, this book is NOT for you. Tricia will challenge you to go beyond your comfort zone to serve those in your family, those in your sphere of influence and your community. There are practical steps that help you identify how you can reach out or serve others, sandwiched between stories of friends, family and colleagues who "walk out" their faith daily. Tricia does a great job of helping you relate to those who have taken bold steps to fulfill the journeys God has asked them to. Tricia also shares of her family's journey of foster care adoption. With themes that will resonate with you long after the book is finished, calls to action to help you get out of your comfort zone and into the lives of those in need around you and just raw honesty, you will not leave unchanged. Every day we can do ONE thing to better the lives of those around us. Be warned, though, after this thought provoking book, you will want to do more than just one thing. ;)

In "Walk It Out", Tricia doesn't shy away from challenging the Christian follower. Be ready to be challenged to the core to walk out your Christian faith by obeying God's Word and impacting the world or don't read this book. I can guarantee that if you take the challenge to read "Walk It Out", you will never look at your Christian life the same again.
She quotes, "God designed us for a purpose that will impact His kingdom. The purpose we all share as Christ followers is to worship God, love Him, love others, and live a godly life." Tricia capitalizes on this in "Walk It Out" - our purpose as Christian followers. I would read one chapter and think "This is a challenge, but I believe that I can walk out my faith in this area with God's help", and then, Tricia would begin the next chapter with a whole new way to walk out my faith. How did she know that she had to keep challenging me chapter after chapter in order to understand the broadness and depth of walking out my faith? Each chapter for me was a time of reflection and self-examination, yet one that I couldn't get enough off. In fact, I read the whole book in one day, and probably highlighted 50% of it, in order to go back and savor the points that I wanted to focus on.
While I read, I knew that each "Walk It Out" opportunity and story she brought up could be applied to my life and often times, it meant going beyond my comfort zone, to step out farther, to overcome my fear, and even, go against the status quo. Yet in those moments that I began to question, "Can I really do this?" Tricia would be there to say, "Yes, God may sometimes call you to something beyond your natural bent or abilities, but trust that as you follow Him you'll discover more about yourself and your capabilities than you ever dreamed possible. More than that, you'll discover more about God - His character and His ways." Now, how can I argue with that? Discover more about God, the One Who is All and Who is there to walk with me through it all. Ok, God. No more fear. No more standing on the side lines. No more "but I ______". Instead, I will trust God, because others need to see me "walking out the Word of God and daring to do what it says."
Tricia's style of writing is gripping. There is absolutely no other way to say it. I will be reading the book again. What about you? Are ready to take the challenge and truly walk out your faith, or you are comfortable staying right where you at? I highly recommend this book for any Christian follower ready to walk out their faith - by doing what God's Word says for you to do, and even better, grab some other Christian friends, and take on the challenge together! "The just shall live by faith . . ." and this is ONE snapshot of what that looks like in the 21st Century.
What ought not to surprise you is that this is what it looked like when Billy Graham was filling football stadiums during his evangelistic crusades.
This is what it looked like when John and Charles Wesley were used by God to start The Great Awakening.
Believe it or not, this is what it looked like when Saul of Tarsus was struck down on the road to Damascus, transformed into the Apostle Paul, and became the greatest missionary the world has ever seen.
While the names and faces have changed, the times and circumstances have radically altered as the world turned, the principles remain the same, and are captured in one verse of Scripture:
"He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?" Micah 6:8 (NKJV)
So many people stop short of that final step. In her autobiographical work, WALK IT OUT, author Tricia Goyer shows us what that final step looks like. As Tricia explains, "I've learned that God's good plans are not always easy, or neat, but when we step out in obedience we never walk alone."
What I love about this book is that Tricia Goyer is not laying out "hypotheticals," or "principles." She's sharing lessons "learned in the trenches," which are the most practical . . . the ones most immediately put into practice in one's own life . . . and the ones that resonate with a confident note: "This is truth."
Not only has Tricia "lived it," she is so full of encouragement that "You can live it, too!"

A most amazing, inspiring, encouraging book! Do you ever feel like you are trying to say the right things and do the right things in life? Reading God's Word and living God's Word is vital to us all. But, just reading doesn't mean we are living the life God wants us to live. We are called to put our faith into action. This book gives practical wisdom and ways to "walk it out" through our everyday actions. Helping each other, praying for each other and truly listening to each other can change the world. This is a great book. I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my personal honest opinion.

This book is EXCELLENT! Tricia is equal parts convicting, compelling and inspiring! Her authenticity and depth of personal story mixed with practical wisdom for truly living out what the Bible says should not be missed. This is the book that modern American Christians desperately need, especially in the current racial climate. This book hits on so many different topics in such a deep way but is also full of hope and constant reminders that heaven is real and that God cares about the details of our lives.

In Walk it Out Tricia shares how God used her in her real life experiences to change the world around her. By tuning into the Holy Spirit and taking small steps of obedience she encourages us to Walk Out the call the God has for us. While reading the book I was stirred and challenged to take some new steps. I'm excited to Walk out the next season of my life. Thank you Tricia for sharing your heart!

This is an amazing book. It challenged me on so many levels. It encouraged and lifted me. Tricia Goyer bares her heart and her own history and thoughts and dreams and failures, and in doing so, she brings glory to God and shows the many times and ways He has walked beside her as she walked out her faith and trusted in Him. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

I won this book back in October and thought it would be a great way to start the year! And it was :D
This book is very thought provoking, challenging the way we live and how we follow God's calls in our lives. Tricia Goyer uses her own stories and experiences to show that everyone struggles in their lives. She shares very personal stories about her life and her family and I really appreciated her authenticity.
Each chapters end with reflection questions and steps to take.
I recommend going through this book at a slow pace to really reflect on each chapter and let it sink in. I never read more than one chapter a day, because I wanted to take my time. And I'm very glad I did.
I highly recommend this book to everyone!! :)

Tricia Goyer is one of my favorite fiction authors. Her stories are intriguing and her characters stay with me long after I close the book. When an opportunity came along to read about her spiritual journey I jumped in. Tricia gives readers a peek into her life as an author, mom, wife and her passionate pursuit of a loving relationship with the Savior. The book was written as if Tricia sat down with me to share her heart and inspires me to do the same. I loved her transparency. She encourages readers to walk out what God has laid on their heart to do. This author shares how failures and/or bad choices don’t define you. Because God is here to redeem the broken-hearted, set the captives free and turn things around for His glory and our good.

I dig around for 10 minutes just to find anything, and sometimes I don’t discover it on the desk, but in one of the piles on the floor.”
“Where did this mess come from? I’ve authored more than 60 books, and since I started writing 20 years ago, I’ve worked at home. A year and a half ago John and I cleared out my home office and library and hauled it all into our bedroom. We did this because our 4 new daughters needed rooms.”
Tricia shares her journey of how God moved in her and her families heart to take in foster children, adopt these children and for a season start up and run a pregnancy resource center. She says, “When I began to walk out scriptures’ mandates…– God sparked passions within me I never knew existed. My life became the racial result of living God’s word one step at a time. WALK IT OUT is a book for women who want to make a difference, but maybe they are too scared, too ashamed, or don't know where or how to start.
Tricia Goyer is an amazing person (I only briefly met her once and we did not connect, just more of a hi/bye thing because we know each by name) who has done some things she's ashamed of. (Haven't we all?) But unlike some of us, Tricia opened her heart to God's leading and He began to lead her and John down amazing paths of ministering to Teen Moms, working at pregnancy centers, mission trips, adoption, and more.
She has some practical suggestions for things we all need. Creating quiet time - emptying the schedule instead of run, run, run all the time. How to help the homeless. How mission trips can change your life. So many things happen to Tricia and she is so willing to open the doors wide and let God in to work through her how He will.
I (on the other hand) am terrified. I see $200 in checking when I need $2,000 and I go into a panic. But she, and her daughter, give it to God and watch that money show up mere minutes before the deadline. I'd be an emotional wreck and not serenely confident in His ability!
WALK IT OUT is a book for women like you. Like me. Ones who want to be used by God but aren't sure how. What was the lowest place in your life? Can you turn it into something to be used by God?
My low spots were when my mother had a stroke and I was a caregiver -- alone. God could use me to relive other caregivers or encourage them. Or when I had breast cancer. God could call me to minister that direction. Or my son who is wrestling with problems that I'm ashamed to share. I have a few others, but I haven't thrown my doors wide open and shared my hurts with many. But maybe, thanks to God putting Tricia Goyer's Walk It Out in my hands, in time, I will.
A timely book that will help many find their low-spot, passion, or gifts and use it for God. And if you are truly open, He may use a once-in-a-lifetime trip to minister for Him as He did Tricia Goyer, Robin Jones Gunn, and others.

These are some of the self-involved qualities of the world we live in. But what if we did our part to change that? What if we preferred to put others first? This book is a motivator, an encourager, a challenger, and an action plan, all wrapped up in one. From page one, Ms. Goyer stimulated and motivated me to refocus the life God gave me. I accept her challenge to make a bigger difference in the lives of others and to live the life God intended.
God wants so much for us, and He wants to use our experiences, good and bad, to make a difference in our world. If we seek Him through prayer, worship, and His Word, and then follow up with ACTION, we can walk an incredible journey for, and with, Him.
No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.
Bottom Line: This book lights a fire—one that will burn bright. It challenges you to be a better you and to live a life for Him.

I just finished reading Tricia Goyer's latest book. It's a great way to get back into living the way we should. It's advice, suggestions, and guides on how to improve our lives and pick ourselves up when life isn't going our way, which can be often.
It's a book that reminds us to ground ourselves in our faith. I think the advice given is good for Christians of any denomination. The doctrines taught are universal and will fit into the lives of any person believing in Christ.
None us of comes with instructions, so we all have to learn through trial and error, sometimes the errors win and we need to regroup, sometimes needing help from others, either family and friends or professional. But we should always keep trying to make the connections that will bring us back onto the right track.
This book will uplift your spirit and teach you principles for a happier and more fulfilled life. By sharing your talents and giving of yourself and time, you will find life will be much better both for those you help and yourself.

I anxiously awaited Tricia's book Walk It Out ever since I heard her mention writing it. I knew that practical advice from such a prolific writer, committed adoptive mom, active volunteer, and busy homeschooler was just what I needed for encouragement in my own busy life.
But I got more. More challenge, more hope, more perspective, more vision. Tricia gives biblical advice and practical suggestions for how we can live out our faith and love on a daily basis. She stretches us to reach out into the world, to leave our comfortable life and fulfill God's plan for us.
I'm saving this book in a special place on my bookshelf to reread and ponder. Walk It Out is the prodding I need to genuinely live out my faith.

Authentic and relatable “me too” stories abound in Walk it Out. Tricia Goyer’s vulnerability to share her faith-in-process is what packs the book with practical encouragement, truth and hope. A must read for anyone in search of something or someone to believe in, for anyone wanting to grow in her faith in God.

But, rather than just focusing on her obedience, she gives us a clear direction for awakening to the still small voice of God whispering into our own lives and how to respond to the One who loves and calls us by name.
Tricia has an amazing testimony of how God's grace has been woven in and through her life. Her latest work, "Walk It Out," is just that--a continued walking out of her faith through not just hearing the Word but following it as well. And she shows how true joy can be found when we do what He asks.
The heart felt dialog and Biblical instruction in this book will guide you into a deeper walk with God and a newfound understanding of what it means to have a true faith that is action, not just words.
Although I knew much of Tricia's personal story, I was touched deeply by how God has moved in her life and how she has responded. From starting a teen pregnancy center to her continued work with teen MOPS, to adopting seven beautiful children (7!!!) and nurturing and staying committed to them through the trials that come with helping a child through their own grief and fears associated with parental abandonment/abuse.
Tricia gives from a heart with pure motives and she never forgets to give the glory to God for how he strengthens her and her husband John and that it is only through Him that we move and breathe and have our being. Her genuine love and devotion for the Lord shine through in every chapter.

Most any advice on Christian living includes instruction to be "in the Word," to spend time reading the Bible. How else can we know what God expects?
I am convinced Tricia Goyer would totally agree with that advice . . . but I am also convinced that she would say something like, "But you can't stop there."
In her new book, Walk It Out, Tricia shares her heart in hopes of helping her readers find their paths to authentic walks with God. She shows the way by sharing her own story -- a story that includes ups and downs but that definitely shows the results of hearing what God says and DOING it! She doesn't tell me what my story should be; she encourages me to find what God says to me and to DO that. And she reminds me that I don't have to know the whole plan at once; one step at a time is all that is required.
I've read this book once and been encouraged (maybe even convicted???) to do a better job of walking out God's plans for me. Somehow, I don't think I'm finished; I believe I will come back to these words again and again for help in staying on track to Walk It Out to the fullest! I highly recommend the book to anyone interested in living out God's plans.

Be challenged and be encouraged. That's what you can expect from reading Walk It Out: The Radical Result of Living God's Word One Step at a Time by Tricia Goyer. Powerful in its words, yet emotional in its story. Yes, there's a story in there. With authentic honesty, the author shared with every one of her readers a past, and then how she walked with God every step on.
With personal testimony, add in biblical references, and other works read, Walk It Out isn't just a memoir. It is broken into individual sections and topics, ending with questions to reflect upon, and applicable suggestions for action. It's not just a story to read, but it challenges readers to take that step in obedience towards God's plan and call.
". . . our faith journey isn't about our dreams and ideas for how we can serve God, but about His dreams, plans and desires for us, our community, and our world." (37)
If you've ever felt ashamed or afraid to be used by God, well, Walk It Out covers that too.
"John 4:18 says, 'There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.' God doesn't want to take you back to those dark places to discourage or punish you, but to express His love." (175)
Walk it Out isn't just a book to get us going, but it's a book that inspires us to do so one step at a time. Even if for whatever reason, you don't think God has any plan for you, Walk It Out will tell you differently, because each of our story is a story that God can and will use. It's heartwarming in a way and I think in all, that's what I can say about Walk It Out. Though my journey is not the same as the author, her approachable style in this book connects my mind and heart, and I'm sure it will with you as well.

'Walk it out, friend. Walk it out beautifully, with Jesus by your side.'
Walk It Out by Tricia Goyer is a non-fiction Christian book encouraging us to live out God's word, not only reading the word, but truly living it. In amongst looking at God's direction to us, we see Tricia's personal story and how by following God's word, she had changed. The chapters covered: obeying God, dealing with personal emotional baggage, priorities, remembering Heaven, sharing the word & testimony, mission trips, giving to the poor/needy, adoption, family, careers, equality/unity/diversity...ect.
I'm conflicted by this book.
On the one hand, this book is very readable unlike some other Christian books I have read, I felt like Tricia was there with us throughout, pouring out her heart. It also contains gospel truths and encourages you to live out God's word. Tricia's story and those of others that she mentioned are inspiring. Also the cover of the book is beautiful.
On the other hand, I feel as though Tricia lacked balance in this book, instead of being a book about encouraging us to 'walk it out', it became Tricia's walk, it became very autobiographical - "in my heart it became all about me". In the third chapter, Tricia says how she felt driven to prove herself, yet I feel like this book was her again trying to unconsciously prove herself; telling us what she has learned, how she became better, how she is a great example to her kids, how a verse in the bible confirms what she has lived out (e.g. in the conclusion "Proverbs 2:1-9 confirms what I've lived out.")...ect. I felt like it was a guilt-trip book, like 'I adopted kids, here's a verse in the bible about kids, you should adopt kids too, if you're not then you're not walking it out' (not her words, but to me that's what each chapter read like). I dont think it clicked with me that 'the radical result' on the subtitle of the book was about Tricia's results, her victories. Yet despite it being almost all about herself, she constantly says something along the lines of 'its not about me, but about God'. She has the audacity to claim that "God shows off" in reference to her writing. Also she constantly changes bible translation to suit her points and purposes. Don't get me wrong, the lessons she learned and thus teaches us aren't wrong, they are generally biblically sound, but my problem lies in the fact she appears to be placing herself on a pedalstool and looking down on those who aren't like her - "I will admit that the lack of Christians obeying God's directives in this area angers me." (the "area" she was referring to was again adoption).
This was my first book by Tricia Goyer. I have to admit, I was a little underwhelmed by it, having has high hopes for it when I asked for it for Christmas. I will take one of Tricia's earlier lines in the first chapter, "There is a difference, you see, between knowing what God's word says and actually doing it.", I feel like in that one line alone,she got across the purpose of the book. I will like to read more by Tricia, but I just hope that her focus is somewhere other than herself.

Tricia Goyer has written a book that grabs the reader right from the Introduction and holds on through the final chapter. Early in the book, Tricia challenges that, “It’s not about knowing the Word; it’s about living it.” Across the next three chapters, we are taught how to follow God in obedience, heal our hearts from past hurts and experiences, and make room to join God in His plans for our lives. Tricia shares her own journey through personal experiences and realizations. She challenges the reader to Walk It Out with relatable statements like, “I’d built up that Bible knowledge to prepare for whatever future ministry God had in store, but God’s Spirit said, ‘The time to act is now.’ ”
In chapters four and five, the reader is encouraged to step out of her self-imposed comfort zone to share her faith with others. Tricia reminds us that we each have a story to tell. She doesn’t shy away from speaking aloud what so many of us silently say to ourselves, with statements like, “I used to wonder why God always seemed to use other people, but never me. Then I realized He was waiting for me to act on what He’s already told me to do to serve Him; be the light.”
Chapters six through eleven teach us how to seek and FOLLOW God’s plan and purpose right where He places us, whether it’s through participating in mission work, giving generously of our time and talents, caring for the most vulnerable, raising our children, aligning our career goals with His goals, or striving for unity in the Church and our communities. We learn through Tricia’s own personal struggles and life experiences that have transformed her walk with the Lord.

One of my 2018 goals is to read a different nonfiction Christian book each month with the intent of learning from various well-respected authors. I want to expand my faith and really define what I believe. I thought about finding one spiritual 'mentor' and focusing on his/her books, but right now I want to understand the perspectives of those who have been important influencers of friends I respect. I've actually pulled together a list of about 20 books so I have many to choose from depending on what seems most important at the time.
Walk It Out: The Radical Result of Living God's Word One Step at a Time by [Goyer, Tricia]I started reading Walk It Out, by Tricia Goyer, before I decided to accept this challenge. While she is not regarded as a pillar in the faith by many, she is a woman I respect immensely. She's dealt with the difficult choices she made in the past and has moved forward with a life devoted to obedience. She and her husband are advocates for teen moms, foster kids, and caring for the elderly. In fact she is currently living with seven adopted children and her ailing grandmother. At the same time she has an active role in the local Teen MOPS group and their church. Walk it Out is a compilation of the different ways she has struggled to follow Christ and obey the call of God and it's chock full of great wisdom to help the reader to do the same.
Each chapter ends with thoughtful questions for reflection and a list of action steps that help the reader apply what was learned. Some are a true stretch, but many just involve taking one small step.
As a result of reading this book I'm challenged to spend more time really diving into my Bible. I want to see the wisdom and advice that is there and really find ways to apply it to my life. I want to worry less about what God holds in my future and to step out and see what he has for me today. And not really for me, but for me to do to help further his kingdom. Because a major theme in Goyer's story is that it's not about us. Yes, there will be amazing things we'll find along the way, but the real joy in living is sharing God's love and finding true joy in the adventure this life can hold.
Walk It Out: The Radical Result of Living God's Word One Step at a Time by [Goyer, Tricia]I started reading Walk It Out, by Tricia Goyer, before I decided to accept this challenge. While she is not regarded as a pillar in the faith by many, she is a woman I respect immensely. She's dealt with the difficult choices she made in the past and has moved forward with a life devoted to obedience. She and her husband are advocates for teen moms, foster kids, and caring for the elderly. In fact she is currently living with seven adopted children and her ailing grandmother. At the same time she has an active role in the local Teen MOPS group and their church. Walk it Out is a compilation of the different ways she has struggled to follow Christ and obey the call of God and it's chock full of great wisdom to help the reader to do the same.
Each chapter ends with thoughtful questions for reflection and a list of action steps that help the reader apply what was learned. Some are a true stretch, but many just involve taking one small step.
As a result of reading this book I'm challenged to spend more time really diving into my Bible. I want to see the wisdom and advice that is there and really find ways to apply it to my life. `Walk It Out` is a woman's Christian living book by author Tricia Goyer. I was given the honor of being on Tricia's book launch team, to review this book before it became available to the general public. I was happily surprised when I saw two of my favorite authors, Joanna Weaver and Francine Rivers, endorsed this book.
I think Tricia Goyer wrote this book to share what God has done in her life as she walked out His word and she hopes to help the reader discover how He can work in and through their life (see page #25).

There are Reflection questions and Action steps at the end of each chapter making this book great for individual or group study. My favorite quote (Bible passage) in this book is Jeremiah 29:11 `For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, `plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.`
I like that Tricia shows her readers she isn't perfect and she enlists her husband, John, into helping her gain margin or white space in her schedule so she could have a more do-able life without feeling stressed out. She does admit a schedule with white space isn't the goal. The goal is a family life flourishing with meaning and purpose (page #61).
My takeaway is that no matter what a person has done there is forgiveness of sins and God can use you to spread His message.

Have you ever feel like something is missing in your life even though you're taking all the right steps? I have! Have you been looking for a spark to light that flame that's been dwindling in your soul? Think you've made to many mistakes to really be used by God, so you've settled... it is what it is? Been there. Do you long for a bit of adventure but the idea of stepping out of your comfort zone makes you squirm? You have come to the right "book".
This book is cut out to be more than just another notch in the book belt. It's an experience, a journey, a guide with practical advice to help you follow a more fulfilling path in your spiritual trek. This book gave me so much insight into following God's literal commands. I felt like I was just sitting across from Tricia listening to her speak from her heart, as I drank in her wisdom (and my cup of coffee).
Even after years of reading my Bible daily, sometimes it feels like there is still something missing. You know, life gets busy.... There's always so much to do, places to go, and people to see... But are we really fulfilling God's purpose for us? Are we doing His will? Or ours?
I found this book to be just the encouragement I needed to lace up my shoes and take those baby steps. So grab your copy and put on your walking shoes, because you are about to go from a stroll in the park to an uphill power walk! Your purpose in life will become clearer with each step you take.

Walk It Out, by prolific and award-winning author, Tricia Goyer, is an amazingly inspirational book about a woman of God who wanted her faith to go beyond head knowledge to a living faith--a faith that put feet on the ground to act, to walk that faith out. Using personal examples and stories from others as well as examples of individuals from Scripture, the author encourages believers with the message that the call of God is not for the select few. It is for everyone, everyone with a willingness to step out in faith, a spirit that is teachable and a heart that says 'I am available'. After each of the eleven chapters, readers are encouraged to ponder more deeply and to personalize the ideas presented in the chapter with Reflection Questions and Action Steps. One of the chapters I found to be interesting and helpful in a busy life has to do with creating more white space on one's calendar, not just to be less busy but to focus on the priorities that God wants us to have in our lives, make room for God to work in our hearts and lives, to help us stay focused on eternity. This is not a book to be skimmed through quickly, but one to stop and think about and then be willing to act on the things God has directed us to do. What is God saying to me about walking out my faith? Am I willing to join Him in his ongoing story, even if it means taking leaps of faith? Yes, and again I'll say yes because I know that when I leap out in faith God will catch me.

What an amazing and encouraging book!
Tricia Goyer is one of my favorite Christian Fiction writers. She also writes non-fiction. This is the first non-fiction book of hers that I have read. Oh my goodness, what an amazing and encouraging book! I loved "Walk It Out". Tricia uses her own very real experiences, her regrets, and her choice to be obedient to God's word, along with scripture verses to encourage us to dig deeper in scripture to find out what God wants us to do, and then act on it. She encourages us to pursue what God has in mind for our lives, and it's pretty amazing. Soooo many good quotes, I found myself underlining much of my copy! "The Bible is God's love letter to hurting hearts from all nations-a love letter that we have the privilege to deliver..........We'll most likely face hardships, but we'll also experience the joy, love, and compassion of Christ in ways we never have before." p.105. "No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.....What is God calling you to do?" p.138. I find myself recommending this book to others in the course of normal conversations, it is very motivating. Her choice to obey the Lord and step out boldly, even when she didn't understand the big picture, has changed her life. It can change yours too. Imagine if every Christian really did this, tried to live up to their God-given potential, what a better world we would live in.
