Valley of the Giant Skeletons is about Geronimo Stilton and his family's journey to Mongolia to find dinosaur bones.

Geronimo is unsure what to write about in his next novel. His cousin Trap Stilton scares him and asks what Geronimo is writing about. Geronimo admits he is fresh out of ideas.

Trap shows Geronimo a map and tells him that it was their Great-Great-Great Uncle's.

The map says that there is treasure in Mongolia. Trap calls Geronimo's sister Thea Stilton and Geronimo's Nephew Benjamin Stilton. Trap asks if they are willing to go to Mongolia. Both mice say yes to the adventure.

The next day the trip to Mongolia begins.

Geronimo gets an invite to ride in the car of a complete stranger and agrees. Trap is hesitant at first but he agrees after he hears about the food supply.

A few days later after resting for a night under the stars the family awakens to find the guide of there trip gone along with the car, the map, and the food supply.

Geronimo, Thea, Trap, and Benjamin start out on foot and end up caught in a sandstorm.

Two young Mongolian mice are heading home and here the Stilton's calls for help. the mice take them to their home where the Stiltons meet the parents of the two young mice.

The family nourishes the Stilton's. Geronimo tells the parents about the map and asks if they know where the valley of the giant skeletons is. Sadly they don't.

Benjamin paints the map the best he can from memory. The family then recognizes the valley and takes the Stilton's there. Geronimo is left to guard the bones they find in the valley.

Geronimo is attacked by the impostor that has been following them to Mongolia so she can make money off the bones.

The man who drove the Stilton's to the dessert and then deserted them is a partner of the impostor.

The book ends with the bones being donated to the Museum of Natural History. There is a special plaque put up for Great-Great-Great Uncle Wally Stilton.

This book is a very fast easy to read book. Personally it is to young for me. However it is not to young for ages 6-7 to 9-10.

Geronimo was working on his office. He run most popular newspaper in the Mouse city. Its called the Rodent's Gazette. He also write adventure books. He was working on his latest novel. but too bad he couldn't think so any story. That when his cousin Trap placed something on his desk. It was a very,
very old looking piece of yellowed paper.
It was good adventure!!

This is another great book (#32) in the Geronimo Stilton easy reader series, copyright 2006. Many children and even middle grade students will appreciate the fast pace of Geronimo Stilton and his family's adventure to uncover a treasure. After finding a lost map of their deceased uncle, the newspaper editor Geronimo along with his sister, nephew and cousin, try to find "treasure" in the Gobi desert. Reading level is Fountas & Pinnell J-P for emergent readers, ages 7-10.

Characteristic of genre: The imaginative story makes it fantastic fiction. There is no shortage of exciting places (even Cousin Trap's Orient Express train car home) to visit in this book with accompanying cut-away diagrams, vivid maps, interesting facts (some nonfiction thrown in), illustrations, and even a folktale.

Characteristic of genre: Keeping with its young audience, the text is super fun (if it's not distracting) embellished with color and multiple fonts, sizes, and placement on the page. This easy reader is broken down into small chapters.

It serves its young audience of emergent readers by providing another exciting adventure in the series that they will enjoy and learn from.

Geronimo Stilton has such good vibes, every once in a while I've got to read his books. This particular volume did an excellent job of featuring some educational content about Mongolia, the Gobi Desert, and Genghis Khan.

This book is great like in the story, Geronimo’s cousin Trap found a map kept by his uncle which was killed by a crocodile. The map said there were some treasures kept somewhere in the Mongolia Desert so the Stilton family followed the treasure map and try to find the treasure that his uncle can’t find. The whole story is quite scary because Geronimo believed someone that he shouldn’t believe and made everyone hate him!

Geronimo and his friends follow a treasure map to Mongolia, where they find a precious Tarbosaurus skeleton. The Shadow tries to steal it. A group of Mongolian mice save the day, defeat the Shadow, and agree to donate the skeleton -- clearly a well known local landmark -- to a museum.

The museum thanks their donors by putting up a plaque honoring the Stilton family uncle who wrote the treasure map. (No mention of the Mongolian mice who donated it.)

This book gave me a lot of stuff to look at. This book has colorful fonts and fun pictures. The main character is a fun mouse and little kids who read this will be reading all day. I love this book because it is never tiring. Normal books are boring, unlike this one.

Absolutely adorable children's book! One thing I love about the Geronimo Stilton books is that you can read them out of order - each book is its own complete adventure with a real introduction to Geronimo himself. Indeed, this was the first book my son and I picked up, and we enjoyed it thoroughly! I really look forward to reading the rest of the series with him.

In this book, as the cover picture and name suggests, Geronimo finds himself in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia searching for a lost treasure. You guessed it what he finds! We really enjoy the educational value of these books; my son was on a dinosaur kick at the time, and this book not only built upon his factual knowledge in that realm, but also exposed him to the culture and geography of Mongolia. We have also been reading the Magic Tree House series, and although I enjoy the facts there, I have to say I much prefer Geronimo Stilton as a whole. The plots of each story are WAY better, exciting, and funny, and your kids will likely learn just as much, but in a different way. I definitely recommend this series to anyone with 7-11 year old kids.

The first Geronimo Stilton book our family read was actually one of the Cavemice books. My son (age 4) saw this one when I was flipping through our digital library category and had me read the entire thing in one sitting. This was the first book we've read from the original series (we've already read some of the Spacemice, Fantasy, and Cavemice books). I was surprised (and delighted) to find him eager for me to keep reading.

While recommended for kids ages 7 and up, these books keep my four year old well engaged with the images and fun fonts. Geronimo is clumsy, cute, and funny. There are some jokes that go over my 4 year old's head, but I enjoyed them and they are age appropriate (for the recommended ages of 7-10).
