Sever, the Platinum dragon, stood by as his friends found mates. With Gold and Silver gone, he's left with only haunting memories of betrayal and a future uncertain as the sea. But when a woman writes Date-A-Dragon asking for help with a unique situation, Sever feels something awakening in him that was long dead. Perhaps he can protect someone once again. Perhaps he can at least be needed. But Sever doesn't know that fate has something unexpected in store for the doubting dragon.
Lori Ridgeway's life has been turned upside down in a matter of months. The death of a long-time friend has left her with a growing boy in need of a family and a small ranch in the middle of nowhere. To make things worse, the locals in her new town are more than a little hostile to a woman living alone. Her only hope lies in a mysterious man who agrees to help, storming into her life like something from a Viking fantasy, igniting her every desire.
Sever realizes almost immediately that his pretend wife is actually his true mate. Now he just has to figure out how to tell her that he's a dragon . . . AND that she's his! Meanwhile the tension between Lori and the locals is escalating, and unfriendly neighbors aren't the most dangerous things hiding in the woods of Cate's Creek. * - *
"Platinum" is the third book in the Date-A-Dragon series! It contains ridiculously hot dragons, steamy romance, and strong, curvy women. Enjoy!
Terry is the author of over forty bestselling shifter romances. She spends her spare time dreaming of dragons, playing with her pets, and watching sunsets from her home in the mountains alongside her husband (who she suspects would make a great bear shifter). She loves the wild outdoors, her fans, all readers, and getting lost in a great book.

This book right here was like a breath of fresh air.
No, seriously. This wasn't some super angst drama filled book like the others. Sever. (I keep calling him Severo in my head for *ahem* some odd reason. *coughredrisingcough*)
I just tried searching for a picture but I cannot and will EVER do that again. Does no one have at least one fucking picture of a guy with the sides of his heads shaved with a freaking long braid?
I could only find freaking WOMAN. Like bro-tang, google, buddy, where in the loving fuck did i put anything about a fucking woman in the damn search bar?
I was really worried about Sever as he was the quiet, contained noble metal dragon. I loved that even though Sever had been tricked and hurt in the past, he wasn't against finding a mate (just not actively doing so) and realizing that he did still have feelings. It was also nice to see Dante's continued development from condescending, arrogant a$$hat (during the Rent-A-Dragon series) to caring and devoted friend/leader.
The author has once again given us a story that is unique and with a surprising twist that you will never see coming. I really enjoy how she ties her series together. Now I will have to sit back and wait for the last awakened dragon (Gem dragon), Citrine's, story.
I received a copy from the author and I voluntarily reviewed this book. I also purchase and borrow (with Kindle Unlimited) Terry's books, as they are ALWAYS a fun and entertaining read!
If you haven't already read the other books in this series do it! This is a stand alone but like the author says other characters are used in this book that have a story of their own. Nice surprise twist at the end, have to read the book!
Great third book in the Date-A-Dragon A-Dragon series. Sever had to leave town to help Lori after she written a letter to them. Never believing he would find his mate.
Hillbilly meets Shifter in the town that Ella lives in with her son. She doesn't know about shifters but I figured it out early on. Still with names like Jud it should have clued her in that something was just wrong about the place. Sever is the coolest dragon. How he immediately connects with Ella and her son is just really cool.
Platinum is the third book in the exciting Date-A-Dragon series, and it's a definite MUST read! I knew that Sever's story was going to be great, but this went beyond my expectations. This heartfelt story will capture you from the beginning, and hold tight until the very end. With the complex characters, humor, secrets, angst, intense situations, and unexpected twists, you won't be able to put down this emotional roller-coaster of a story. A fantastic book, and a great addition to this incredible series!
Sever has felt responsible for he and his friends getting trapped and buried in the avalanche since they found out the truth about what happened. He'd thought he'd found his mate, but it was only a trap by their enemy. He feels foolish for not seeing the truth, and blames himself for everything, even though neither of his friends blame him. Since they've awoken, he has no desire to find his mate, or anything else for that matter, but the Oracle insists that's what must be done.
Now, both of his friends have found their mates, their business has been destroyed by the same enemy who tricked them before, Citrine knows who his mate is and disappeared before he could claim her, but he's going to find her. Sever knows that he needs time away from his friends to find himself, and he has the perfect opportunity to do it. When he received the letter to the business asking for one of them to come and be a pretend husband for a couple of weeks in exchange for a vacation on a ranch, he knew that it was exactly what he was looking for, and for some reason he feels a pull to the woman who wrote it. Deciding that he's going to go help her, he leaves for the ranch not knowing what exactly is going on, but is determined to find out.
Sever, Lori, and Taylor have all been through so much pain and suffering. Their lives have drastically changed beyond their control, and they're doing the best they can to make it better. Can Sever help Lori and Taylor figure out what the problem is with the neighbors and the townspeople, and why they want them to leave? What secrets are they hiding, and will it put Lori and Taylor in danger? When Sever figures out that Lori is his true fated mate, he's determined to do whatever it takes to keep his new family safe. What will happen when the truth about Taylor comes out? Will Lori and Sever be able to help him, and keep him safe? This is one book you won't want to miss!
I strongly recommend this book, series, and fantastic author!
My god, I hated the heroine. I honestly have not encountered as many TSTL heroines lately, but man was she one about the land. Some context: she's living in a small town where all of her neighbors don't talk to her, hate her, and have threatened her in order to try to get her to leave. Then her farm gets set on fire and she still wants to stay because she thinks the land was important to her adopted son (which she's never appears to have actually directly asked this question to). Sever, , specifically points out that hey, this town is dangerous - maybe think of leaving? And she jumps straight to the conclusion that he's trying to get rid of her, nevermind the whole neighbors have actually tried to burn her (so you know it might actually be kind of dangerous to live there). And she doesn't even enjoy living on the farm! It's completely nonsensical and infuriating behavior on her part.
Oh my!!!!! Our Platinum Dragon Sever finally gets his story!!!! Sever decides to hire himself out when Date-A-Dragon gets a letter asking for help. Lori lives in a small tiny township which seems to be in Texas ( yay!!! ). The township doesn't seem to be welcoming to " outsiders " of which Lori and a young boy she's guardian of are. Incidences make it a priority that she seek help! Sever comes to the rescue, and finds his mate in a ton of trouble from the township, secretive people there, and things from all their pasts. Find out what happens!!!! So enjoyable!!!!!
Third book in the series, and we are almost done. I liked Sever, and even more in his book, even if he was a little clueless, he was very sweet. The plot of the book was easy to guess from the start, even if it was understandable that Lori didn't know what was going on. There were a few plot holes, the situation was complicated, but as usual, everything worked out just fine at the end.
I enjoyed Sever and Lori's story, but I wanted much more. I needed more closure for Taylor. Also, I wanted to know more of the relationship between Amelia, Mercury and Sever. I am hoping that some of the answers I still seek will be answered in Citrine's story.
Lori needs someone to pose as her husband to keep her and Taylor safe in the new little town they are in. Something is not right. The only way she sees to help her and Taylor to be a family is to hire someone from Date-A-Dragon. She has been communicating with them so she is very hopefully. Taylor is only a child and he needs stability in his life. She wants to adopt him.
Sever is the Platinum Dragon who had been tricked by Amelia, also a Dragon. She convinced him They were fated mates. Then to betrayed because she was working with Mercury all along. He has not gotten over the betrayal and feeling foolish for not catching on sooner. So he really has no clue if she really was his fated mate or not. He decides to take on an assignment for a woman who needs him to fake that he is her husband. She lives on a small ranch with a 12 year old boy. Something in her letter attracts him to her. All he knows is that she desperately needs his help and he needs to be able to help someone in order to heal. Upon his arrival he realizes she is his fated mate because the feelings he is beginning to discover and experience are completely different than what he felt for Amelia. These are extremely strong and potent feelings. He is drawn to not only the beautiful woman who wrote him the letter but also to the sad and curious little boy who she is trying to raise. His protective instincts kick in. He realizes he needs to protect both of them against the bullies who continually arrive at her home to harass them. He also realizes it's not just these two men, but practically the whole town that treats them with disdain and sheer uncalled for hatred. He is bound and determined to figure out the "why" of their actions. She is his and so is the boy. They might not know it yet but they are a family and he will do anything for his family.
There were gaps towards the end of the story that needed to be filled in order for it to be complete. I'm hoping that in the next story it might fill in the blanks.
Sever is the Platinum dragon who is feeling the odd man out. His friends have found their mates and he is feeling that he has lost his chance for a mate. Centuries ago, he thought he had found his mate and she rejected him but now he has learned that the woman was just another dragon who changed his shape to trick him. Sever is even unable to work at Date-A_Dragon any more since the house was mostly destroyed. Then Date-A-Dragon got a letter from Lori who wanted a man to pretend to be her husband for a few weeks and offering a free vacation on her ranch. Sever is mysteriously drawn to these letters and agrees to go even against the advice of his friends. He makes sure to let her know that things will be professional in his return letter. When he arrives, he is shocked about his feelings for Lori since his dragon is claiming Lori as his. Sever is afraid that he might be misreading his feelings again and that Lori will reject him. Lori is having a tough time. Recently her best friend died leaving her custody of his 12 year old son. Lori quits her job, sells her house and moves to the ranch that her friend owns. She is doing her best to love and raise Taylor. However her neighbors keep coming by and pestering her. Nasty pranks are being pulled and the local townspeople shun her. She is hoping that having a big strong man around would cause the problems to go away so she writes Date-A-Dragon. She thought keeping it professional would be easy but Sever attracts her like a magnet. Together the two have a lot to overcome. Sever is trying to deal with his past and the changes the centuries have brought. Somehow he will have to tell Lori about his Dragon. Lori also have past issues. All the men in her life have left her so trust is very hard. Then the problems with her neighbors are enough to scare anybody This is a great story with some amazing twists and turns. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.
Sever, the Platinum dragon, feels compelled to take on the job of pretend husband and protector after reading a letter requesting help from Lori, a single woman living on a ranch in Texas. He doesn't fully understand her situation, but is happy to feel needed again now that his friends and fellow dragons are mated.
Lori is being harassed by the local townspeople. And a particular family has begun threatening her and Taylor, her young charge. Feeling unsafe and a bit frightened, Lori writes to Date-A-Dragon in hopes of hiring someone to come stay with her and Taylor to help put an end to the threats.
Once Sever arrives he realizes the threats are real and the local people are making it unsafe for Lori and Taylor to remain, but he doesn't understand why. Feeling more and more protective of Lori and the young boy she plans to adopt, Sever is determined to discover the secrets of this small town and keep them safe.
There are several twists within that kept me turning the pages. The chemistry between Sever and Lori was hot, and the priceless interactions between Sever and Taylor tugged at my heart. I've enjoyed this series thus far, and anxiously look forward to the next installment, Citrine's story! I also look forward to hopefully learning more about Taylor's father and his family's past.
Recommended read.
*ARC received from author in exchange for an honest review.
Sever is the platinum dragon and probably the most damaged of the noble metals trio. Sever was the only one who had a mate before they were betrayed and forced into a frozen sleep until they were woken into the modern times. They learn the truth that Sever was never mated, only tricked to believe he was which leaves him more lost and separated from his friends. Needing to escape the mated bliss his two friends are currently experiencing, Sever jumps on the chance when a letter comes in the mail requesting the services of Rent-A-Dragon. Lori is desperate, so desperate she sends a letter far away to the only business she can find who will rent men that will travel. She needs someone to pose as her husband so hopefully some of the town locals will stop harassing her about leaving the town and the house she just moved into with her new 12 year old responsibility. Her best friend and one of her first loves died and left his son to her care, he also wanted her to stay in this particular town even though they hate her for some reason. When Sever arrives, professionalism quickly goes out the window as he recognizes her as his true mate and he is determined to protect his new ready made family from the strange happenings going on in town. When the truth of the town comes out, the platinum dragon is ready to play to win. I'm so happy Sever finally got his HEA!!!! Citrine is up next and I couldn't be more excited!!!!!

I enjoyed this addition to the Date-A-Dragon series. Server has been a lonely dragon who felt that his chance for happiness was long past. He watched his friends find their mates, but was sure it wasn’t going to happen for him. When he reads a request from a customer asking if someone could come to her ranch and pretend to be her husband to help her out of some trouble, he jumps at the chance to be useful again. Something tells him that this is just what he needs. He makes it very clear that this is a platonic relationship, so the client wouldn’t get any ideas of romance. Boy, was that a misguided notion. He is the one with ideas of romance as he quickly figures out that Lori is his mate, but she has enough troubles with her ward, Taylor, and the unfriendly neighbors trying to run her off her property.
Server is not sure what is going on in the local town and suburbs of Cate’s Creek, but something is definitely wrong. It will take a little detective work to figure out what it is, but he is up to task, especially if it means protecting his mate and her “son”.
I am not going to spoil the story for you. There are a few surprises in store for Server and Lori. There is a HEA ending. Can’t wait for the next one. I was gifted an ARC of this book from the author. My review is voluntary and my excitement my own!
Sever knew he'd have no mate. He'd lost that chance. His friends were busy with their new mates. When a request for an out of town "date" came in he quickly decided to accept. This would be to play the part of a husband to a woman and a young boy for a two week period. He accepted with the understanding that it was a professional date and no funny business.
Lori agreed. She needed him but had no intention of explaining more. She didn't want to involve him in her problems. It didn't take long for him to regret his insistence they not ... and then they did. Was it possible? Had he found his true mate this time? Before he could claim her he had to tell her all. She was keeping secrets as well. The town didn't accept Lori and Taylor, but why? That they were different didn't ring true.
When he investigates what he discovers is bad. Can he protect his new family? Will he be able to claim her?
The story with a human child is touching. We learn a little more about the conflict between shifter and humans and the underlying uncertain future. Another good read from this author. Enjoy this third offering from Date-A-Dragon.
I think I liked Sever the best of the noble metals dragons. He seriously though Amelia was his mate and he would never find another one. So he accepts a job way out in the middle of nowhere. There he meets Lori who has taken guardianship of her best friends 12-year-old son Taylor. I loved watching both Lori and Sever deal with Taylor. They both grew into love with each other as well as with Taylor. Sever really seems to appreciate all that he is getting with them. Of course, there are problems. Sever doesn't do a great job of telling Lori, or Taylor, how he feels, but neither does Lori. Also, someone is trying to chase them off the property that Taylor's dad left for him.
All in all this was a satisfying read. If you love shifter stories with action, sexy scenes, good character development and some surprises, then this is for you. At least read the first 2 in this series, or do what I did and read them all to get the whole picture: Double Dragons series, then Tiger Protectors series, Awakened Dragons series, Rent-a-Dragon and then the Date-a-Dragon series. And now I can finally read Citrine's story now, so enjoy!
For this series, I have to say that this has been my least favorite story so far. I liked Sever, but it was Lori who got on my nerves. I found her to be annoying, needy, and perhaps selfish (maybe that's too strong of a word, but something similar to it). I'll continue the series since there's only the one left, but I sure hope it's better than this one was.
Out of the 3 Date a Dragon series books I have read, I will say this one is my favorite so far. Sever was a quiet and broken soul after learning that the mate he thought he had so many centuries ago, was not his mate at all. Then dealing with that and doubting that he would ever feel truly “mated” with anyone made the readers believe that he would never find his true mate. Until the letters came in the mail that called to him about a single woman with a child needing help. The dynamic and constant back and forth with the misunderstandings was definitely more relatable than a woman drooling over a big man instantly. We see Sever grow as a person learning to understand his mated feelings as well as humans in general. It was very refreshing. Especially the twist at the end.. which I will admit I kind of figured it out but not exactly. But all in the same it was still a good twist.
I generally avoid romances with kids in them, but I wasn't annoyed by this one. It probably helped that (a) the kid was 12 and not some simpering toddler, and (b) I read this as an e-book and didn't have to suffer through someone doing a whiny kid voice on audio.
One thing that bothered me:
Other than that, I don't much to say about this book. If you have enjoyed Bolryder's other dragon books, then you will probably enjoy this one. It satisfies that craving for insta-love, alpha males, and a quick read (about three hours reading time).
This is the third book in this series from this author even tho it's the third if you read it before the other two before it you will enjoy it and get the drift of the story but I would read the first two before this one so you get the full impact of the hole series's. Ok this one is Sever story how is a Platinum Dragon who doesn't seem to fit in. Lori is having trouble with some of the locals were she and her foster son Taylor are living. She decided to get in contact with a dating service to get someone to pre tend to be her husband she did not take notice of the name of the company. When Sever first lade eyes on Lori he was a goner he in she was his mate. This is where the book really gets you turning the pages to find out how it ends up on the way there's things you don't see coming. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This is the story of Sever the Platinum dragon in the Date-A-Dragon series. Sever is the last one to find his true mate in order to get his ability to shift again. While not looking for a mate he takes a job to pose as the husband of a client. Lori is in desperate need of help to stop people from bulling her to move. Having taken the job Sever heads out west unsure why he feels the need to help Lori. Lori has been left as guardian of her friends son Taylor and his ranch. The people of the town in which live are nasty and bulling. Sever arrives and his desire to keep this simply platonic fly out the window. How do you fight the secrets of Cate's Creek? Will Sever be able to tell Lori his secret? There is also another secret know one knows about. This is a great story and I give it 5 stars. "I voluntarily read and reviewed this advanced readers copy without pressure to do so".
I've been waiting for this book with Bates breath and I wasn't disappointed either!!!
I have all of the Tiger's series that is part of the dragon's series and I now have all of them and I'm up to date with this series! I must tell you all that reading these artfully crafted and uniquely designed storylines of there wonderful stories have been a delight to the senses and shouldn't be missed because that would be a shame for anyone who loved reading the paranormal romance and action!!! When you read this book and the ones that came before, you're going to feel like you're experiencing the adventures right along with the characters in the book and you won't be able to out it down until the last word is read and then you'll be waiting for the next installment with Bates breath!!!
Sever has kept himself separate from the other dragons. As Platinum he straddles the noble and rough metal Dragon worlds. He's already lived in the ancient world where he was deceived by who he thought was his mate. Now in the modern age he can't overcome the pain & loss of his past. He watches his fellow dragons find their true mates. He has resigned himself to bring alone. Until he agrees to a long distance, long term assignment as a "rent-a-dragon" for Lori in Texas. He learns Lori and her 12 year old charge, Taylor, are in danger. He also finds Lori is his mate. Now he must protect Lori and Taylor and convince them they should be a family. Things are not as they seem and this quiet, unassuming, reticent Dragon shifter must overcome his detached approach to life and win over these two pained, lost souls. It's a lovely, rewarding read.
The platinum Dragon believes he won't ever have a mate. He was tricked centuries ago by Mercury into believing that his mate disappeared. He figures he won't get a second chance. His friends have found their mates, Citrine is off to find his among the wolves, and he just needs a break from all the happiness. The club receives a letter from Lori who needs a man to act as a husband on her farm for a while. The letter calls to him and so that's where he's headed. Lori and Taylor, whom she's the guardian of fall for the platinum Dragon pretty fast. Things seem pretty good except that the people in Cates Creek want Lori and Taylor gone. Things get a little hairy and a whole lot scary as secrets are revealed. I think this is my favorite so far of this series. Off now to read about Corrine and his hopefully mate, the alpha wolf Robbie!
I was really looking forward to read more about Sever story. We know he had been tricked and hurt by Mercury in the pass but I was disappointed that we didn't find out more about Amelia, Mercury and Sever. How and why all came about? Since all this has been hinted since the last series! A bit of a unticlimax. Sever has to leave own and the safety of Date-A-dragon club to help a human asking for help. Lori has a problem. After gaining custody of her friend's 12 year-old son, Lori leaves her old life behind and starts over in a small town. The problem? Her neighbours are not friendly and the whole town shun them. After arriving Sever knows there is something wrong in this town and he will do anything to keep Lori and her son safe. After all she is his true mate! Or isn't she? Highly recommended
As the last noble metal dragon not mated, Sever has been feeling a little useless. When letters from a potential client of Date-A-Dragon catches his attention, Sever jumps at the chance to be needed and useful again. His first meeting with Lori stuns him. Still reeling from the knowledge that what he thought was his true mating was really a trick, Sever is reluctant to trust his feelings. Will Sever trust his mating instinct and will Lori accept him as he is- dragon and all? What is really going on in Cate's Creek? This is a great addition to the series. Hope to find out more about Taylor and his "family".
*I received an Advance Readers Copy of this book as well as purchasing a copy which I am voluntarily reviewing*
Sever aka Platinum received a letter from a lady named Lori asking for help. She asked for two weeks. Sever was the more laidback of the dragon's and didn't participate as much as his fellow dragons. So, when he read Lori's letter he felt like he wanted to help her. It had been a long time since he wanted to help someone. Her neighbors were terrible and kept harassing her to get her and her young ward to move. Everyone was mean to her and she was at her wits end. Sever witnessed some of the disgusting treatment of her and started protecting her and her ward. Of course there is more to the story. I definitely recommend this book; it is wonderful. Enjoy!
