An Enemies to Lovers
Shifter, Vampire True Mates story.

Justice Volkov is the youngest Alpha Zenith to ever lead the wolf shifters. Following in his father’s large paw prints was a responsibility he met head on. Now at age thirty-three, he is alpha of the alphas. As a direct descendant of the original Siberian pack, his wolf is bigger and stronger than Justice, himself is sometimes able to control.

His wolf howled long and hard but Justice kept it inside. It felt like a bass drum beating against his rib cage. The harsh breaths, angry snarls and the determined pacing inside him was overtaking him.

Justice takes his role of leadership and his legacy very seriously. He has little time for romance, not to mention a true mate. His packs are his priority. With a human government trying to regulate them, an uprising of rogue shifters, and a violent team of scientists trying to experiment on them, Justice has his hands way too full.

Chadwick ‘Wick’ Bentley is not enthusiastic when the captain of his escort tells him he has to leave his comfortable London home and go back to the States. As the Vampire King, he has no choice but to get his species back in line before they cause anymore chaos. At over one-hundred years old, Wick is no one to trifle with, but his smooth, charismatic manner makes him quite unique, despite the negative reputation vampires have. Wick has had nothing but time up to this point. He doesn’t feel the need to make issues pressing. Nothing is urgent in his life. Until he meets Justice. His beloved.

“Natural enemies can’t be mates.” Or so Justice thought. He knows his skepticism and rejection is hurting his mate, so while he fights their connection, Wick gets help from a source very close to Justice to help him win his beloved’s heart. Wick is a force all on his own, but when he’s blessed with a special gift from the Mother herself, not even Justice’s powerful wolf can prevent the prophesy from being fulfilled.

This story DOES NOT contain/mention MPREG.
No multiple pairings. No cliffhangers. It ends with a very HFN.

Warning: This book is MM paranormal: If you DO NOT like hot, alpha men shifting into large wolves, or vampires feeding from their mates, this may not be your read.

This is one of those true-mates books where they smell their mate's scent, go batshit crazy, and then need to bite and claim each other. It seems like a much easier way to find your Mister or Miss Right than trolling bars or Tinder, so I think it would be a great plan if we humans could have this feature built in. Can someone get on this?

Of course, it might make things a little weird when you're sitting in IHOP with the kids and some guy chases down your waiter, holding your smiley face pancakes, and tackles him to the ground to bite and mate him. But, I think it might be entertaining. Plus, things have been so weird for the past year or so that we probably wouldn't even flinch at this point. I mean, did you notice that nobody gave a crap when the government announced that UFO's are real?

We are truly getting hard to impress.

So, our heroes are the king of vampires and alpha of werewolves. They are brought together because their people are misbehaving and putting the supes in danger from the government. They are immediately driven crazy/horny by the mating bond thingy and have to be together. Which means, too bad, suckers, their sex takes priority over petty problems like government policing and a possible race war. Bone first - Politics later.

Probably the best thing about this book was how the couple dealt with each other. They were immediately loyal and worked together as a team. They were considerate of their differences and each other's needs. I really liked them as a couple.

The downside of the story was that it felt a little more like a book that was setting up a world and introducing characters for the series, so things stayed more surfacey. Still, I like where the whole thing is going.

I love A.E. Via's books. Especially her "Nothing Special" series. The reason I love this author so much, is because when I open one of her books, I know I am guarenteed a hot Alpha and some very nice steam :P

When I found out she was gonna publish a new PNR book.. I squeeled a bit !! This book has not one, but two of my weaknesses... a shifter and a vampire !!! I feel so blessed !!!

tumblr_m984msPs2O1qd2i6x.gif (360×203)

It took me some time to really get into the story. This almost always happens to me with new PNR series, because of the set up and world-building. Once I got into it, I couldn't put it down.

This series revolves around a family of shifter brothers. Each book will feature a different brother and will have more information regarding their family and other important details.

This is Justice's story. The oldest brother of the family and also the Zenith alpha. Being a Zenith Alpha, means he is not only a the pack's Alpha, but the Alpha of all shifters. This literally means, he is the strongest wolf-shifter alive and his role comes with a lot of responsibility. With his 3 brothers and sister he rules the shifter world.

adb9249570137.560d6006b28da.jpg (600×375)

Now having such an important task, doesn't leave him much room for romance, and Justice is just fine with this. He doesn't have the time to romance anyone, especially now that some of his shifters seem out of control and are causing trouble.

To bad (or good) that fate has decided differently....

This is where Chadwick comes in... or "Wick" as he is called by many. He is the, almost 200 year old, Vampire King, who rules the vampire world.

Vampires and Shifters do not get along. They are natural enemies, that mostly avoid each other. Lately, their species have been getting into more and more altercations, and when a human dies, because of their fighting, Wick is summoned back to America to deal with the situation.

When the Leader of the Shifters and the King of the Vampires meet... things don't go as expected. Their reaction towards each other is so extreme, that it becomes clear real fast, that these two are "true mates". But vampires and shifters are not supposed to mate and Justice doesn't just want to give in to someone, who is a natural enemy. So he rejects Wick and in doing so... really hurts him... (and me)

People believed vampires had no heart and no soul. Then why was his breaking right now?

866003.gif (500×250)

I felt so sorry for Wick. He wanted his "beloved" so badly. He felt so defeated, but help comes to him in a mysterious way, and Wick is not ready to give up on his beloved just yet. Thankfully it doesn't take Justice too long, to get his head out of his ass :P

These two getting together, claiming one another and feeding was extremely hot !!

"I can feel when you want to bite to be sexual, to make me fly, and I want that Wick. I'll always want your bite, just like you'll always crave mine."

jaydenkiss GIF

But there are still some secrets to be revealed... Packs and Covens to be informed and enemies to be fought.

I really enjoyed this first book. It was sweet, hot, exciting and even funny at times. Wick testing his cooking skills, had me laughing out loud. These two were perfect for each other, but I have to say, that I liked Wick a tad bit more. Maybe it's my great weakness for vampires... maybe it's Justice being so inconciderate in the beginning. I'm glad they worked it out though...

FOTO BEWERKEN - makkelijk online je foto's bewerken of aanpassen

Now I am very curious to find out what A.E. Via has in store for Justice's brother Aleks and Bell !! Hopefully I won't have to wait too long ;)

Well, it wasn’t really that "Enemies to Lovers" story, not for me! It was more a sweet one! Albeit the story started off reaaally good but then it was nothing just mating till the end and before you could know more the story ended! The other thing that I didn’t like was that the king was hybrid! I prefer if he was just a vampire and nothing else! It wasn’t fair, it was like Justice accepted him just because Wick had a beast within himself! Maybe that’s why it wasn’t a real "enemy to lover" for me! Told in dual POV, 3rd person. It’s the first installment in "The King & Alpha" series and it’s not cliffy. All in all, I had a good time reading this and hope you enjoy it as well!

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Felt so let down*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

First thing first: never, ever have high expectations or hopes for a book. Here I went in hoping and thinking that we'll get alpha males, but I only got a soft vampire king and a somewhat alpha male shifter. I had expected both of them to be some serious alpha males like the blurb told us there would be. Let's just say I was disappointed. I was hoping for some Kristen Ashley alpha males, but why do I do that to myself? There'll probably never be that kind of alpha male in M/M genre. I feel like nothing was actually done, expect the leader of all the shifters in the United States, Alpha of the Alphas and youngest Alpha Zenith, Justice ‘Just’ ‘AZ’ Volkov (33) and Chadwick ‘Wick’ Earl-Kyne Bentley's (172) mating. I thought there would be some kind of war, or a huge fight or something, yet we got none of that. Overall, we got insta-lovesome potential to the series.
Touching their foreheads together, Justice held the back of Wick’s neck, rubbing his thick thumb over his mark. “I’ve never been prouder in my life.”

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (Adult) Paranormal Romance (M/M)
Series: - Series, Book One.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Justice ‘Just’ ‘AZ’ Volkov.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Unsure.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Unsure.
Will I read this again in the future? - No.
Rating - 2.5 stars.

I still wanted to bitch slap Justice. But it's a sweet mate story and I really, really wish the author would get Alek's and Bell's story out soon.

Originally read July 2018

Via has created a new world where vampires and shifters live openly among humans. But there's always that underlying hostility between the vampires and shifters. Both races believe myths and half-truths about the other. But the Mother knows what is best when she brings Justice and Wick together to save both of their people and the humans too.

This was a sweet mate story once Justice got his head out of his ass. What is with the whole denial thing??? I wanted to bitch slap him into next week. Thankfully it doesn't last too long. Poor Wick. He was truly hurting and it broke my heart. Justice finally became the dominate, possessive alpha I love. Wick was a sweet soul but ready to defend his mate whatever the consequences. I ended up loving them both. There's plenty of interesting side characters and we get a sneak peek at the next book which I want like yesterday!

Some things needed fleshing out more and could have been expanded upon but overall it was a good mate story and I'm looking forward to the next one.

This is not an action-packed book. The action kind of plays out on the sidelines (with one or two exceptions, but those ended pretty fast). The romance is the main focus of the story. Just how I like it.

Justice is the Alpha Zenith. He is the most powerful Alpha in existence and he is a fair and loved leader.

Wick is the vampire King. He is strict with his vampires and he doesn’t tolerate them misbehaving. But he is also a gentle man, who is more affectionate than any ruler before him.

When these two meet the ground shakes, literally. It is clear that Justice has found his True Mate, and Wick found his Beloved. But neither expected the other to be who they are. So Justice’s first reaction is to reject Wick. Wick feels blessed to have found his Beloved, but is heartbroken when Justice rejects him.

Both go to their respective houses where they are visiting, but they both feel the immense pull. It is not long before Justice has no idea why he is resisting the vampire. He goes to Wick and knows he has some groveling to do. But Wick doesn’t need apologies, he just wants Justice.

When the two spend more time together it is clear they are made for each other. Especially when Wick feels something inside him react to Justice’s wolf. Wick might not only be a vampire..

But there is a threat looming over the shifter and vampire community. Human scientists have recruited shifters to capture other shifters so they can experiment on them. Wick and Justice have to get everyone working together to stop them..

These guys were so incredibly sweet together. There was almost no relationship angst, besides just a tiny bit at the beginning when Justice rejects Wick. But that was solved so fast I can’t say my heart had time to break.

These guys came together with a BOOM. Everything felt intense when they were together. They so wanted each other and were not afraid to show their affection in front of others.

As I said, this book doesn’t have a lot of action despite the storyline. There were two instances where someone had to fight someone, but this was all over rather quickly. And the confrontation with the humans in their facility happened off page. I was totally fine with that since it was clear the relationship was the main focus, not necessarily the plot with the scientists.

There were enough sexy times to make me happy, and the feeding was so freaking HOT!

This was truly a great shifter/vampire story. I loved all the secondary characters and I can’t wait for the rest of the books.

I decided to do a re-read and continue on with this series. I was still a little underwhelmed by this but I’ll see how I go on with the next one.

3.5* Not the book I expected at all.

Firstly I have to say I enjoyed this book, I loved, absolutely loved the cover especially Justice. I liked the two main characters along with all the secondary ones as well and it’s a lovely sweet read so why did I only give 3.5*?

It wasn’t at all what I expected and it completely threw me. From the blurb I’d expected an exciting action filled start to this series.

His packs are his priority. With a human government trying to regulate them, an uprising of rogue shifters, and a violent team of scientists trying to experiment on them, Justice has his hands way too full.

But everything comes second to the romance, there’s no real drama or action and what little action there is is over in the blink of an eye.

Now I have to say romance is my thing, I like sweet and cute and I like the whole “mates” thing that comes with shifters but this was just so far from what I thought this book was going to be that I kinda missed what it was if that makes any sense.
I couldn’t enjoy the slow steady romance because all the time I’m expecting something to happen and when it did it was a kind of “oh wow I nearly missed that” moment.

Will I read the next one?

Of course and this time I’ll know what to expect and I’ll be able to enjoy the romance. Although that said I’m not sure what’s going to be in there since what I’d expect to be in the next book occurs in this one.

***ARC generously provided by the Alpha Book Club***

This book was so incredibly ridiculous.

I gave it two stars because despite the ridiculousness, in the beginning it was still fun, despite it all. But that didn't last long.

This whole book is just...first, Justice is an "Alpha Zenith" like...the Alpha of all Alphas in the US (or the world, maybe? Idk) and Wick is a Vampire King. Yeah. Then they're "true mates" ugh usually I'm not one for the whole "mates" thing because of the whole "fated" thing, and Justice actually talks sense in the beginning when he says "I will not be forced into this!" and then he just kind of gives up on that pretty quickly, but he is not wrong. But anyway, if the whole "destined" thing is still handled well, I can get over my dislike of the trope and generally enjoy the story ("Daring Fate" is an example of a good one).

But this was just...not done well. They "feel" each other before they even meet, right away they're drawn to each other and basically in love from the first second they see each other, even though Justice fights the "true mate" thing for all of a day. There is the "Mother" who is, i'm assuming supposed to be Mother Earth or Mother Nature but in an actual Goddess-like form, and she actually comes to them, as well as Justice's dead mother, for no real reason other than to "guide" them, I guess.

the Mother even has Justice and Wick have a test fighting a human hunter and they never even actually end up fighting anyone - Wick's vampire soldiers end up taking care of the bigger threat that is in the book, off screen.

Justice fights a vampire dude that wants Wick, and Wick fights the mate of a rogue Alpha, but that is it.

Also, apparently the Mother And apparently there was a Vampire King/Alpha Zenith true mate pairing a few hundred years before that was apparently them (Justice even has the thought "They were mated once before centuries ago but he couldn't remember it, maybe he wasn't supposed to" or something like that).

Also, vampire bites apparently make people who get them extremely turned on? Like okayyyy. Justice loved when Wick feeds from him because of that - and the true mate thing - which, sure, not completely stupid at all.

Also, vampires and werewolves are known to the humans, but they've only been known for about ten years. Okay? How were they discovered? And through Justice's POV we learn that humans were mostly okay with learning there are vampires and werewolves. Okay? I don't buy that. If at this point they'd been known for centuries, I would get that, but I feel like after only 10 years humans would still be stupid it about it and fearful - although apparently the greatest enemy to vampires and werewolves in not each other but human scientists wanting to capture them and study them, which makes more sense.

The vampires can run super fast in this - which, the visual just makes me laugh - but they DON'T sparkle, which one of Justice's brother's brings up. So they still live in a world that has Twilight lol.

And this might just be because this was an ARC, but it had grammar mistakes throughout, typos and such. But really the writing just wasn't that great.

Also, "the Mother" also granted Wick . Any problems these two could run into are avoided because of the "true mate" thing and it just made everything too easy, way too easy. Also, not very compelling. I started to skim the last 20% of this book because it started to drag because by that point the author introduces the next couple for the next book and doesn't focus too much on Wick and Justice.

Instead of introducing the next couple in a subtle way that still lets the story focus on the main couple of this story, they just kinda get put to wayside and get their quick happy ending, or happy for now, whatever you want to call it, at the end. Not a very strong ending.

Also, Wick is a born vampire? How is that possible? Are the vampires in this even the living dead or are they just tailored to run cold and drink blood? I don't get it.

Not everything is explained in the first book, and while more might be spread over the following other books, I don't think that's a very good idea, because it just left the reader with a lot more questions than answers and even if you tell us not everything will be answered that doesn't make the annoyance at not knowing them go away.

World building is important for a reason, especially alternate universes that work differently than our real world. Spreading out all the info over several books is ridiculous, imo.

Also, the sex scenes? Weren't very hot. They were very quick and lacked a lot of passion - and these were supposed to be true mates.

ALSO, wtf is with Wick not being able to feed from anyone else and anyone else's blood would be poison and if he didn't feed from Justice he would die? I hate that about these "mate" stories that include things like that. It just makes the whole thing very unhealthy.

I wouldn't bother with this one, this one really really wasn't that great.

P.S. This was not an enemies to lovers story like it says in the blurb. They're already in love like...right as they meet, basically. No enemies to lovers to see here, folks.

Phew! Finally, I have finished reading it.

The story starts out great. We meet our MCs and we read about how they come together after a short period of misunderstandings and unwillingness. Then we read about their passion, their coming together, how their love grows.

In the background, the author keeps telling us about what a critical situation has brought them together, how the Mother had given them both complementing powers so as to make them perfect for each other, and so on. But the main focus remains on the wolf-vampire pairing and the vampire’s special ability. There were only a couple scenes of action, which weren’t breath-robbing or anything.

Huge letdown.

*2.5* I have only listened to the audiobooks from this author, and really enjoyed the super cheesy but seriously fun, Nothing Special series. This being my first reading of this author, makes me wonder if my enjoyment of those previous stories were only because of the narration?

I was so excited to read a vampire/shifter mm love story, and maybe went in with my expectations too lofty. This was just...not good. One dimensional characters with surface level emotions. And what was with no lube?! They weren't self-lubricating or anything. But the vampire explained he healed nearly instantly, and liked that dash of pain. What about the other guy?! Sounds like a whole lotta not fun to me.

Well, it took 30-40% of the book before I could ignore the odd writing style. Hmm Idk if odd is the word, it just irked me for some reason that’s probably entirely personal.
Once I slipped into the story however It was a treat.
I love this world where vampires and shifters, natural enemies, are brought together by a fated mate bond between their species. The MC’s did have wonderful chemistry .
🤷🏽‍♀️ Not much more to say because there isn’t anything new or particularly special here in my opinion. It’s pretty standard, predictable and entertaining paranormal story.
I did want something light and not so serious and it hit the spot as such. The action is very minimal, it’s very much focused on the romantic relationship which I appreciated!

Did anyone else notice that they never ended up meeting with the Nevada governor which was the entire reason for the trip. Idk if I just missed it but I’m quite certain they were at the police precinct and never had the meeting with the humans that were threatening their lives. 🧐

3.5 stars for the first book in this series. This was an enjoyable read - Justice the wolf Alpha and Wick the Vampire / shifter King. An unusual pairing according to their worlds but these two were clearly true mates. While I enjoyed the romance of this story I was surprised by the lack of grit. I figured two leaders who ruled with strength would be involved in more hard core drama and danger rather than situations being softened. I didn't get the vibe of danger at any time and really felt this was more of a loved up sweet romance- which is fine, just unexpected. I'll certainly continue with this series now that I know what the flow and feel is like.

1.5 This was some of the most rudimentary writing I’ve ever encountered: choppy, repetitive and formulaic. The world bulding was basic and often contradictory. I was never able to get into the story because I kept getting increasingly frustrated as it progressed. The main characters were poorly developed and I wasn't invested in their relationship.

"Prophesy" is a romance between a vampire and a shifter. But that's not all... This is a romance between a vampire king and a shifter Alpha Zenith (who is basically the Alpha of all Alphas).

A few months ago I read another book by AE Via and I can't say I was impressed by the story. This time though it worked! The characters where macho and possessive in this one too but they were also creatures of some other universe. They were true mates and experienced things in a different way than humans do. They reacted on instict and when it conserned their mates their animals took over. I could get behind this logic, this explanation for their behavior.

So we have Wick and Justice who are destined to be together. This book was full of surprises and there were so many things happening and so many potential plot twists that at first I thought it was just the first one in a series set around those two (I mean, the series is called "The King & Alpha"). I was so excited believing that there was more to come from them. At the end though this book is a standalone and the next four in the series are focusing on different couples. I don't know how I feel about it yet. I read the whole book thinking it would be just the beginning so I'm still trying to adjust to the fact that this was it.

Mainly, the story focuses on the mate bond between those two, how a vampire and a shifter would manage to be together, how the rest of their species would see their bond, the process of getting to know each other and merging their lives. It has some action and a few fighting scenes but for the most part it's Wick and Justice exploring their newfound connection and discovering new things about themselves, well mainly about Wick...

This was a generally easy and quick read with the story getting the attention of the reader and not giving it back until the end. I don't know if I'll continue with the series, for the sole reason that I want Wick and Justice to be the main couple and not just supporting characters, but I definitely recommend this one to those who like paranormal stories focusing on the romance and not so much on the fighting.

Prophesy got all the usual cliche moment for any PNR with both shifters and vampires. The ability to recognize their 'true mate', the possessive declaration of 'Mine!', the insta-love/lust and whatever you expect in a PNR. But it works for me because these are what makes me a fan of PNR and honestly is hard to find a good M/M PNR. They are either too fluffy or too much emphasize on the politics and lack of romance. Prophesy manage to appear serious with emphasis on romance and didn't dwell too much in the politics behind the pack and vamps.

Justice is the Alpha Zenith being burdened by taking care of his packs and the ruddy shifters that causes trouble to the human community. Mating had never been of importance to Justice, but when he finally meet his true mate, even Justice can't deny the true mate pull. As an alpha shifter, Justice is all growly, possessive and kickass.

Chadwick aka Wick is also known as the Vampire King. This is one character that is not what I expect. I expect Wick to be all snobbish, cold and unfeeling. But Wick appear pretty easy going and beside of wearing his tailored suits and sucking blood, he seems pretty well adjusted within the shifter community.

I was expecting two alpha males butting heads, but Wick seems submissive to Justice once they had both embrace their destiny. If I were to find one thing that disappoint me in this story, it would be Wick's lack of alpha-ness as the vampire King. I wonder what does his father or his consul think of his mating with a shifter since the entire story we only spend time with Justice's pack. Anyway, since I know that the next book is about a new couple, so I guess Justice and Wick's story is settle with a satisfying HFN.

I really tried to like it at first, but all the characters are so perfect, everything just seamlessly fits to the point there is no conflict whatsoever. It's food-s*e*x-frolicking in the forest constantly. At 53% I started skipping the pages in the hopes of finding something that will grab my attention. It didn't happen. I don't want to find out how it ends. I've read Ms Via's work before and enjoyed it very much. This story is simply not my jam.

This book 😂😂😂. It was so bad (like really) BUT so funny that I loved it!! This is the first chapter of a new saga "The king and Alpha" and it really sounds fun! In this book we met many of the principal characters so we can think about the other lovers 😊. We met Justice aka Alpha Zenith (😂😂 I find this surname so funny everytime someone called him like that) and he's so impressive...like he can do anything (his growling can stop an army you know 😂). He's pretty bad ass, confident, powerful (I had to stop about his strength^^) but really kind, just and adorable at certain times. Chadwick is the vampire one, and his sooo English (sorry this is the best accent in the word 😍 so sexy 😍). He is pretty bad ass too (he can walk in the sun you know😂 sorry I can't help it), powerful and really funny. The two of them was strongly in love in 2 days...True mates. I was like "why this book"? Because even the end was laughable! If you want to defeat the alpha of the alpha with the surprise effect, you doesn't come the day all alphas of the United States are reunited in one place, please man 😂. He was beat before the fight. Bref this book is sooo funny that you will enjoy it! So read it:) I can't wait Belleron's book 💜

4.25 stars.

When I started reading this, I was so not expecting to get what I got. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought. I loved her Nothing Special series so yes, as excited as I was to read a brand new series by AE, I was also very hesitant. I'd never read any paranormal by her before.

The main focus of this was romance and all the action was second to it. Not that there was a lot. There wasn't. And I really enjoyed it that way. The characters were well written, the story flowed well for me, and I'm totally getting addicted to paranormal M/M with the whole mate stuff happening.

An arc was provided in exchange for an honest review.

I was surprised by a couple of my of friends that this book didn't get raving reviews because I really LOVED it!!
Yes, Justice was a ass at first but I though he more than made up for his horrible reaction to Wick at first. I liked how he spent time with Wick and bonded with both him and his staff. Wicks secret that got revealed it was quiet a shocker! I thought the shifter trouble/solution at the end was rushed through but over all I thoroughly enjoyed this read and all the characters both vampires (except one) and shifters. The narrator Nathaniel Black did an excellent job as well!!

This sounded so promising but I didn't like it.
Wooden writing.
Wooden characters. Justice was not an MC I could take to.
There was a lack of depth in world building and background - the author said that may come in further instalments but I expect it from the get-go in paranormal/shifter reading.
My feelings are of utter disappointment but you cant like them all.

MM Romance
Vampire/Shifter
Audiobook

🎵Narrated by Nathaniel Black- New to me but loved his accents!

DNF @ Chapter 17 of 34

The best thing about this book is the narrator but I just cannot listen to this for another minute. This is only about 7 hours which is pretty short for an audiobook yet it’s taken me almost a week to get through 4 hours and I can’t imagine having to suffer through 3 more. I love the idea of a vampire/shifter fated mate story but this is just superficial and quite boring. The sex scenes are also quite cringy because they use no lube, not even spit due to their crazy fast healing but ouch. I’m just not feeling this at all and am thankful it was included with my Audible subscription.

I dislike this but don’t hate it therefore 2 stars despite the DNF.

REVIEWED FOR LOVE BYTES

4.5 Stars

I loved this one!

This is an absolutely riveting start to a new series that sees one of my favourite authors dipping her toes into the paranormal world – actually she didn’t just dip her toes she dived fully in and the results speak for themselves – Prophesy is not only a great story but it sets us up for what looks to be a fantastic series.

Justice is your typical Alpha wolf in a lot of ways and his astonishing power as the Alpha Zenith can literally stop everything in its tracks but he also has compassion and understanding and it is those traits along with his deep rooted love for family that makes him a great leader. His job is a tough one as he tries to control his wolves that seem determined to get themselves into trouble with the human laws and especially when it comes to fighting in the open with Vampires.

Wick is always suited and booted and looks every part the Vampire King that he is. He is strong and feisty but there is also something quite fragile about him. Wick is nearly 200 years old, has never found his beloved and has always known since childhood that there was something that set him apart from his family and peers. He feels like there is something inside of him – he also feels emotionally and that is something that is very unvampiric.

It seems the fates have something planned for Justice and Wick but attitudes and fear make it difficult and their first meeting is disastrous and could end up being the death of them.

So many twists and turns. I loved the all-consuming need they had for each other after just one touch. Their dependence, their deep love and their possessiveness are all things I enjoy in paranormal stories and this had them in bucket loads. There were also some great secondary characters and as the Vampires and Wolves come together to fight for their survival it is going to be fun seeing who will end up mated with who.

Great snippet of the next book at the end – fingers crossed Ms Via already has lots of words on the page for that one as I am very excited to read it!
