The most important thing to know about me is that I'm basically a sixteen-year-old trapped in an adult's body. It's why I feel such a great connection to all of my characters and why I love to write romantic comedy. The kid in me just wants to be goofy. I read the first book in the series, Perfectly Oblivious, and this book back-to-back, because the author's style is different than what I normally read and once I got used to it while reading the first book, I knew I needed to stay in the zone for this second one. I actually started this book first, and put it down after the first chapter because the snarkiness and immature behavior of Ivy and her friend Lilly was too much to take. After reading and enjoying Perfectly Oblivious, I decided to give this one another try and I'm glad I did. Despite the excess sassiness that eventually gets dialed down a bit, the characters are great and the details and mannerisms that round them out are creative. I loved how Andy's personality was revealed as Ivy got to know him better, and their chemistry was awesome. His friend Jake and her friend Lilly are funny together and the banter between all four of them was entertaining. This would make a great teen movie, actually. I think it's a book that would be enjoyed by older teens and young adults. And not-so-young adults that enjoy reading in the YA genre ;)

(4.5 Stars) Sometimes a book transports me right back to my teenage years and this is one of them. Do I want to re-live my teen years? NO WAY! But I honestly had a hard time putting this one down.

Ivy is the type of person who would have totally intimidated me back in the day--she's ultra confident and popular. When she finds herself one name short for a fundraiser, she recruits her art table partner. Well...tricking Andy into doing it is more like it. Andy is a great guy who is also intimidating in his own way because he doesn't care at all what people think of him. He's comfortable hiding in the shadows and being exactly who he wants to be.

Ivy and Andy have an easy friendship with a great chemistry. I loved watching Andy's personality reveal itself, much like peeling the layers of an onion--gradually. Although Ivy tries to change Andy, she learns some life lessons of her own...the hard way. Jake and Lilly, their friends, are absolutely over-the-top hilarious and really rounded out the story, balancing the hard times with humor. I love a story with good, solid relationships/friendships.

Because this story does take place during high school, there is plenty of drama. I'm not a big fan of drama, but there is so much more to the story than just that. The growth, change, acceptance, standing up for yourself, romance, funny, etc moments rise above and make this one a winner.

This book is so stinking cute, I can’t stand it! I grinned pretty much through the whole book! I loved it! And it had a great message to boot! The romance is oh so so sweet! The friends fierce loyal and quirky!

Ivy is my kinda girl. She is spunky and loyal. She is caring. She does have one fault and although she thought she recognized it early on, she continued and it hurt her boyfriend. I loved how she accepted the calling out on her by her quirky best friend! I want a best friend just like Lilly!

Andy is the perfect normal guy. He isn’t the class president or a socializer. He just is laid back and hangs out with his friends not at parties! He is very kind, considerate and caring. And he is also a romantic at heart! His family has money, but he doesn’t act like it. His best friend is Jake. Jake is the class clown and also rich. Jake’s twin sister is Sophia. Sophia is the evil twin. She is definitely the stuck up rich girl after whatever she wants!

Perfectly You will keep you reading with a grin on your face to the very end! Right now, I am going to read the first book in the series because this is the first book by this author I have ever read and I need more of her writing!

If you like stories with: a rich girl who is a witch with a capital B, pools, romantic dinners, close knit families, crazy best friends who dress up quirky or who has your back, cargo pants, baseball hats, rich boys who think they are all that, and learning lessons than this might be for you! It definitely was for me! If I could give it 10 stars I would!

This is the second book by Robin Daniels that I have read. I liked this one better than the first one mostly because the swearing was toned down in this one. Still there, but not as much. There is a content disclosure above if you care about that.

In this YA book, the characters are seniors in high school. I felt like the author did a good job of making these characters come alive. They were fun with distinct personalities and I really liked them- even when they made mistakes. It all felt very high school-ish with the drama to go with it! The younger YA crowd will eat this one up.

It was easy to fall into this book. The dialogue is fun and the book moves along at a great speed. I read through this story quickly and ended with a smile.

I was in the mood for a light fun high school romance. This was a great choice. This is the second of Robin's books that I have read and I thoroughly enjoy the humor and fun she brings to the pages of her stories. She captures the fun and feelings of what teenage like was life.

It's really hard to believe that Perfectly Oblivious and this book came from the same author .. like they are the total opposite of each other, I didn't connect with the story whatsoever and it was boring like crazy .. nothing was happening and Andy is such a pain on the neck I didn't like him one bit, so disappointed in this book to be honest

Perfectly You is Robin Daniels second book, and also the second book in the Perfect Series. I enjoyed the first book in the series immensely, so I was very eager to get my hands on the second book and see which characters would get their story.
Perfectly You introduces us to a new set of teenagers, set in the same high school. That to me was a little confusing, as I was expecting to have a little bit of a spin off or a story of one of the supporting characters, but this wasn’t the case.
Perfectly You introduces us to Ivy, a very outspoken, speaks before she thinks, opinionated girl, that is in with the in-crowd. She is responsible for the date auction, and is determined to get it right, as she doesn’t want to prove to her ex-boyfriend she can’t get the job done.
On the verge of closing of the auction with one name short, she enlists Andy as the final date, her quiet art partner.
This whole book is a quite predictable tale of Ivy trying to transform Andy into a mayor hottie, and discovering a lot about herself along the way. Andy’s interest in Ivy made him want to make certain changes for her, but her comments at time made without thinking were hurtful, and Andy was man enough to call her out for it.
I loved Andy. He embodies what I feel every teenager should strive to be. He’s a regular guy, that has seen the shallowness and competitiveness that is so apparent in many, and has chosen to walk the road not travelled by many. He’s comfortable being a loner, knowing he’s being true to who he really is. Ivy on the other hand may be very outspoken about her opinions, to the point of being hurtful (luckily she grows throughout the book), but still tries too hard in my opinion to fit in. At one point in the book she drags Andy to a party and pressures him to have a drink to make him feel more relaxed. Luckily he refuses, which makes a strong statement in the book, but it made me like Ivy less. She really needed a lot of growth throughout the whole experience.
Lilly is the cherry on top. She is an amazing friend, a wonderful character, and reminded me of Libby in the Science Squad series by Kelly Oram. She added a whole array of color to this book, and I enjoyed reading her parts a whole lot.
All in all I found this book a great read, and thinking back on it, I can conclude that the drinking at the party suggestion adds some extra reality to it, but did make me like Ivy less.

Finalmente è uscito il secondo volume della serie Perfectly di Robin Daniels: Perfettamente tu.

Decisamente un romanzo dal respiro adolescenziale dove i drammi nascono dal nulla e non hanno una reale consistenza ma, capitando a ragazzi neppure diciottenni, assumono proporzioni assurde e provocano emozioni esagerate. Ma che belli gli adolescenti! Tutto è amore, passione, impegno, ogni esperienza dona una sfaccettatura a individui in formazione e noi qui ad osservarli crescere, plasmarsi, diventare, da semplici semi, dei bellissimi fiori.

“Mi prese la mano per tirarmi su con lui, ma una volta in piedi, la lasciò per metterla sulla parte bassa della mia schiena. Sapevo che stava solo facendo il cavaliere e che non significava niente, ma nel momento in cui la sua mano si poggiò su di me, mi venne la pelle d’oca. Che problema avevo?”

Così anche la storia di Ivy ed Andy, che è tutta qui, in queste pagine, senza grandi imprevisti o stravolgimenti, ma che si fa leggere col sorriso e gli occhi a cuoricino.

Ad Ivy serve un ultimo concorrente per l’asta che servirà a raccogliere fondi per il ballo di fine anno e chi meglio di Andy, suo compagno di banco all’apparenza goffo e trasandato ma con un sorriso che scioglierebbe un ghiacciaio in pochi secondi?

Andy non ha solo il sorriso caldo, ma anche il cuore: è un ragazzo di altri tempi, educato, a modo, che non ama la confusione ed è questa sua riservatezza che lo fa credere goffo. Invece di Andy ci si innamora facilmente, del suo non forzare le tempistiche, del non essere scontato e del sapere accontentare Ivy concedendole molte possibilità.

“C’era un unico problema. Dopo quella giornata, non ero sicura di volere che Andy rimorchiasse delle ragazze a pranzo. O in qualsiasi altro momento, a dire il vero. Molto male…”

Come ogni adolescente però, anche Andy ha i suoi “lati oscuri”: sbalzi d’umore che a volte sembrano incomprensibili (e che ci stanno vista l’età!) ma che la Daniels riesce a giustificare spiegandone il passato.

Anche Ivy è un personaggio diviso tra ombra e luce: è una ragazza solare, estroversa, disponibile, è una che sa quello che vuole ma non ha chiaro i propri limiti. Ivy, infatti, ha il pallino di “mettere a posto le cose” e questo purtroppo la mette sempre nei pasticci perché spesso parla prima di pensare, e la sua estrema sincerità le fa fare figuracce e la mette nei guai anche con le persone cui tiene di più. Insomma una vera adolescente anche lei.

«Sai cosa mi piace di te, Ivy?» mi chiese. «È evidente che dici quello che pensi, fai complimenti e lodi senza problemi, ma non per compiacere la gente, lo pensi sul serio. Sei una delle persone più sincere che conosca.»

Leggere la loro storia è come leggere un diario, permette di seguire le giornate di una ragazza comune e di calarsi nella parte grazie a una scrittura, quella della Daniels, sempre scorrevole e moderna, adeguata all’ambientazione della storia.

La vera sorpresa sono però i due migliori amici di Ivy ed Andy, Lilly e Jake, due tipi davvero sorprendenti, egocentrico l’uno, eccentrica l’altra ma perfettamente allineati in comportamento e pensieri. I due diventano anche loro protagonisti e apportano una massiccia dose di ironia ad una storia che, vista l’età era già leggera, ma che così assume dei risvolti sorprendentemente divertenti.

(4/5) that was the most adorable heartwarming story everrrr. I freaking love anything y/a romance and this was no different. First of all ivy was hilariousssss like girl straight up told him he smelled good when they were only classmates😭😭😭 and Andy, ugh he’s so darling I love mmcs who blush every time a girl looks their way and bonus points cuz he wears glasses🫦. Also lillyjake you will be loved by me, dare I say even more funny than the main couple in this book…

This book was not as good as the first book in this series. It took me over a week to finish because I wasn't invested in the characters. Jake was SO kewl. He was written well. If this book wasn't free, I would be irritated. 3.0 stars at the most.

In questo novembre piovoso Robin Daniels torna in Italia con il secondo capitolo della serie The perfect. Vi avevo già raccontato di Cam e Bebe, di come la loro storia fosse stata una sorpresa. Ora lascio la scena a due nuovi protagonisti: Ivy e Andy.


"Io ero la classica personalità di tipo A. Mi piaceva avere la responsabilità e il controllo, ambiziosa e perfezionista. Ero anche una persona onesta, cosa che, secondo me, era una delle mie qualità migliori, ma in effetti, anche una delle mie più grandi debolezze"

Ivy, con il suo caschetto biondo fragola e gli occhi blu, ha un ruolo di spicco nella sua scuola e si ritrova a organizzare l'asta tra i ragazzi dell'ultimo anno per raccogliere fondi. Mettono in vendita degli appuntamenti da sogno per dare la possibilità a tutte di uscire con il proprio idolo, quello con cui non faresti mai il primo passo. Il problema è che gliene manca uno, un solo partecipante per non fallire in questa missione, per non darla vinta a Rob, il famoso presidente egocentrico e arrogante, nonchè suo ex, che considera tutti al di sotto di lui.
La sua attenzione viene catturata dal suo compagno di banco, così silenzioso e taciturno, ma a guardarlo bene è così carino. Andy Walker Potrebbe fare al caso suo, ha solo bisogno di una sistematina.
Molto determinata e schietta, Ivy lo mette alle strette e lo convince a occupare l'ultimo posto disponibile.


Andy, tranquillo e taciturno gira alla larga da tutti quelli che creano confusione e, povero lui, non sa ancora cosa l'aspetta. Ivy irrompe nella sua vita e per permettergli di crearsi un'immagine, Ivy metterà in atto la trasformazione del brutto anatroccolo per renderlo appetibile agli occhi delle altre ragazze. (Ma non ha pensato ai suoi).
Tra cerette, pedicure, parrucchiere e partite di basket, i due finiscono per passare molto tempo insieme e Ivy, così sicura di sé, inizia a sentire che le farfalle dentro di lei prendono vita e si animano quando Andy le prende la mano.


"Andy rise di nuovo e mi sentii accaldata e scombussolata. La sua risata stava diventando una droga, e farlo ridere mi causava dipendenza"

Il continuo bisogno di cambiare qualcuno e di trasformarlo in un'altra persona che veste come vuoi tu e si mette in mostra, in realtà è la mossa sbagliata perché tutto si rigira contro te stesso. Contro Ivy. È proprio ciò che succede qui, Andy si stufa di essere trattato come se non sapesse stare al mondo e Ivy è una testarda, zuccona che non riesce a star fuori dai guai. In questo caso il modo di comportarsi di Andy era una sorta di autodifesa contro il passato che non è sempre facile da condividere. Quando Ivy lo capisce è forse troppo tardi ed è già al punto in cui lo vorrebbe solo per sè, riuscirà a vincere quell'appuntamento?
Una storia d'amore che nasce in sordina, che ci mette un pó prima di essere definita, il tutto è amalgamato da quelle sensazioni che fanno perdere la testa ai due ragazzi.
Una trasformazione che sfida i canoni soliti a cui siamo abituate, anche i ragazzi hanno bisogno di essere incoraggiati a dare il meglio di sè.
Adoro Robin Daniels e le sue storie young adult che ci riportano ai tempi degli adolescenti dove ti devi solo preoccupare di vivere con spensieratezza. Una boccata d'aria fresca per sfuggire alla solita routine. Non vedo l'ora di conoscere i prossimi protagonisti e chissà se un giorno tutti questi personaggi si ritroveranno coinvolti nella stessa storia.

Alcune volte abbiamo bisogno di immergerci in quelle letture che sono in grado di farci sorridere, ridere, sognare e perchè no, tornare ragazzine, a quando ancora speravamo di vedere realizzati tutti i nostri sogni.

Perfettamente tu racconta la storia di Ivy Nixon e Andy Walker, due studenti della Franklin High School agli antipodi. Simpatica, elegante, bella e sincera, Ivy è infatti una ragazzina tutta pepe senza peli sulla lingua, non ha paura di dire ciò che pensa, e oltre ad andare bene a scuola è anche vicepresidente del comitato studentesco; conosciuta da tutti e con tantissimi amici, tra cui Lilly che vi conquisterà per la sua eccentricità e dolcezza, lei e Andy sono complementari, dove non arriva l’una troviamo l’altra.
Il loro è davvero un bellissimo rapporto, un rapporto di amicizia con la A maiuscola, quel tipo di rapporto che ho invidiato, e penso che un po' anche voi ai tempi.

Per me è davvero bellissimo e adoro leggere i libri che danno importanza alla famiglia, agli amici, perché credo che non ci sia niente di più bello che avere rapporti autentici, veri e sinceri. Sono a mio avviso quel qualcosa che ci permette di affrontare la vita quotidiana, i dolori, le sconfitte, ma anche le vittorie. E vi auguro di avere o di trovare un’amica che sappia capirvi, apprezzarvi ed esserci quando ne avrete bisogno, e che voi possiate fare lo stesso per lei.

Andy al contrario di Ivy è un ragazzo solitario, strano e poco curato ma non lasciatevi ingannare dal suo aspetto trasandato perché nonostante indossi solo pantaloni cargo, occhiali spessi e cappelli con la visiera, sotto quei brutti abiti e le sopracciglia folte si nasconde un’anima dolcissima, talentosa e piena di sorprese che nessuno conosce. Sembra un nerd ma non lo è assolutamente e se non ci credete beh lo scoprirete leggendo.

Cosa avranno in comune questi due giovani ragazzi vi chiederete.
Ebbene quasi nulla, ma quando Ivy si ritroverà alle strette e con pochi partecipanti all’asta di appuntamenti che la scuola organizza per beneficenza durante il ballo di fine anno, non si farà scrupoli a chiedere aiuto proprio al suo compagno di classe Andy Walker.
Ma come la prenderà?
Andy non è un ragazzo a cui piace mettersi in mostra, non è un ragazzo a cui piacciono le attenzioni, eppure accetta di aiutarla e di far mettere il suo nome nella lista, fino a quando non riuscirà a trovare qualcun altro che possa prendere il suo posto. Ma sarà davvero così?

Inizia per Ivy un’importantissima missione: trasformare Andy nel partito perfetto per l’asta.
E dopo vestiti nuovi, taglio di capelli e sopracciglia curate, Andy inizia ad attirare l’attenzione di tantissime ragazze.
Andy da trasandato e sconosciuto diventa molto ricercato dal popolo femminile tanto che Ivy inizia a sognare di poter essere lei la ragazza che vincerà l’appuntamento all’asta per poter passare del tempo con lui.

Nel corso della lettura scoprirete come il loro rapporto inizi pian piano a trasformarsi, e di come i loro sentimenti da prima amichevoli diventino qualcosa di molto più profondo e autentico.
Prepararvi a ridere, sorridere e sognare con questi due splendidi ragazzi. Preparatevi inoltre a vivere un caleidoscopio di bellissime emozioni.
Lettura scorrevole, mai banale o scontata, genuina. Scrittura leggera, ma ricca di sentimenti, che rende questo romanzo divertente, e allo stesso tempo profondo, che riuscirà a toccare le corde del vostro cuore.
Non mi resta che augurarvi buona letture mie care disaster.

Salve amiche del confine,
Oggi vi parlo del secondo romanzo della serie “The Perfect” di Robin Daniels.
Questa serie, iniziata con “Perfettamente inconsapevole”, è young adult, quindi priva di scene erotiche o passionali.
Ma abbiamo tanti baci rubati, dolcezza e innocenza, cose che mi avevano fatto apprezzato il primo volume.
Mi aveva riportato indietro nel tempo, a quando le mie letture erano più o meno tutte così. Non vedevo l’ora di leggere il secondo volume e, dopo averlo divorato, eccomi qui a parlarvene.
“Perfettamente tu” racconta la storia di Ivy Nixon, una ragazza quasi perfetta. Vicepresidente del comitato studentesco, tantissimi amici, eleganza e bellezza sono le caratteristiche per cui spicca, sono ciò che la contraddistinguono e per cui tutti la ammirano.
Aggiungete a questa carta di identità tanta sincerità e un’amica bizzarra, ed ecco la descrizione di Ivy.
Ivy non ha peli sulla lingua e dice sempre quello che pensa, così, quando deve organizzare l’asta di appuntamenti di beneficenza per la scuola, non si fa scrupoli a chiederlo al suo compagno di classe Andy Walker.
Andy è un ragazzo solitario, strano e poco curato. Indossa solo pantaloni cargo, occhiali spessi e cappelli con la visiera, ma sotto quegli stracci e le sopracciglia folte si nasconde un’anima dolcissima, talentosa e piena di sorprese.
La missione di Ivy sarà quella di trasformare Andy nel partito perfetto per l’asta e dopo vestiti nuovi, taglio di capelli e sopracciglia curate, Andy inizia ad attirare l’attenzione di tantissime ragazze.
Andy odia stare al centro dell’attenzione, ma decide di continuare per Ivy.
Nel corso della sua trasformazione tra Ivy e Andy nascerà qualcosa; i loro sentimenti, da prima amichevoli, si trasformano in molto di più, tanto che Ivy sarà la ragazza che vorrà aggiudicarsi l’asta e l’appuntamento con il bellissimo, divertente e dolcissimo Andy.
Dunque lettrici, la Hope ci ha regalato di nuovo una lettura piacevolissima, che ho avuto la possibilità di leggere in anteprima.
“Perfettamente tu” è un romanzo dolcissimo, divertente e genuino.
È uno young adult che si legge tutto d’un fiato e scorre molto velocemente, non annoiando mai il lettore, anzi catturandolo completamente in questa storia che è pensata per gli adolescenti, ma si rivela una lettura per tutte le età, grazie al suo stile frizzante, leggero e spensierato.
È la lettura perfetta da fare in questi giorni di pioggia, sotto al piumone o con una tazza di tè caldo in mano.
Complimenti all’autrice per questa commedia adolescenziale, che vedrei bene anche come film, e complimenti a Andy Walker, il bellissimo protagonista di questa storia.
Nonostante Ivy sia una ragazza interessante e ben strutturata, frizzante e divertente, ad avermi colpito tantissimo è il bel Andy.
Per tutto il corso del romanzo mantiene viva la sua personalità e stupisce nella sua fermezza, tanto da sembrare davvero un adolescente in carne ed ossa.
Mi è piaciuto tantissimo il suo carisma, mi ha colpito la sua bontà d’animo e la sua dolcezza tanto che, se avesse avuto qualche anno in più, mi sarei sicuramente innamorata di questo ragazzo di carta.
Dunque, se siete in cerca del regalo di Natale perfetto per sorelle, cugine, amiche o figlie, questa è la lettura che fa per loro, ma non solo.

Perfettamente tu rappresenta in maniera "Perfetta" come dovrebbe essere uno YA, una lettura adatta a un pubblico più giovane che parla ai giovani delle problematiche che vivono in questo periodo.
Parte da un contesto prettamente americano, la classica raccolta fondi per la festa di fine anno, per trattare con mano leggera alcuni argomenti che in questo periodo adolescenziale sono centrali. Il discorso della propria identità e il bisogno di affermarsi nel contesto sociale, il bisogno che gli altri ci accettino per come siamo... che lo spesso delle volte non è possibile e su individui più vulnerabili porta a problemi gravi da affrontare o a un annullamento della propria personalità per conformarsi allo standard sociale.

«Voglio stare con qualcuno a cui vadano bene i pantaloni cargo e i cappellini da baseball, a cui stia bene passare del tempo da soli o con un paio di buoni amici, invece che con un milione di persone che non conosco. Voglio una ragazza che non provi a farmi ubriacare per farmi integrare a una festa alla quale non volevo nemmeno andare.»

C'è chi nel libro non ha timore di stare da solo e di combinarsi come meglio crede e chi invece è perfettamente inserito nel tessuto sociale. Chi ha uno status per cui non si scompone a uscire fuori dai binari con le stranezze.
E abbiamo la nostra protagonista dalla lingua lunga e schietta, piena di interessi, di impegni e di conoscenze. Lei è perfettamente se stessa inserita in un contesto in cui è vista come una persona normale.
Accanto a lei abbiamo la sua amica che è l'esatto opposto caratterialmente, e una confusione e accozzaglia di vestiti strani con cui si ama vestire che ne fanno il suo look eccentrico e strano.
E poi abbiamo il nostro protagonista che ama essere trasparente agli occhi del resto del mondo e il suo migliore amico che è l'esatto opposto...
Il bello del romanzo è che non è solo la storia di Ivy e Andy, ma troviamo anche la buffissima e divertentissima storia dei loro bizzarri amici.
Quando si hanno dei progetti da inseguire e ci si cerca di conformare qualcuno a uno standard predefinito che è quello accettato dalla maggioranza, si scopre ben presto che forse l'altro non è perfettamente d'accordo di questo appiattimento di personalità, che forse non si sente accettato per quello che è realmente... e forse noi che volevamo conformarlo ci accorgiamo di non conoscerlo proprio.

Non sapevo nemmeno che suonasse il piano o che cantasse, ero stata troppo concentrata a sistemarlo, per accorgermene. Mi sentii male, come se avessi un macigno sulla bocca dello stomaco.

La verità è come dice il titolo, uno dovrebbe essere perfettamente se stesso.

Perfectly You is about two high school kids named Ivy and Andy. Ivy Nixon is the student body Vice President at Franklin High School. Every day she has to deal with her douchebag of an ex-boyfriend Rob because he's the student body President. Ivy is planning the auction event (which is a huge deal to this school) and in the beginning of the book you find out she is one candidate short...and the deadline is near. Cue in Andy Walker, who is cute, socially awkward, in her art class, and her last resort. He isn't popular like Rob but he is actually talented and funny. Andy undergoes a makeover by Ivy so that he can fetch a decent price at the auction.

So the auction can only have senior participants and they have to be 18 years old...if anyone isn't 18 they have to have their parents signature on the forms (due to previous concerns because of an ex-principal who was creepy af). Andy at first doesn't want to participate but then does it any way (because what good guy wouldn't). Then Ivy starts developing feelings (kind of like She's All That when Freddy Prinze Jr.'s character (Zack Siler) falls in love with Rachel Leigh Cook's character (Laney Boggs)). Although there is no bet for her to get the guy...Ivy just needed one more guy to fill out the requirement for the auction and was running out of options at the last minute. Plus she had to prove herself to her ex and to everyone else in the student body.

I really liked Ivy's character throughout the book. She is my kind of girl because she is a really loyal friend and doesn't take any shit from anyone (especially an ex). She calls them out on their bullshit which is what I love. Ivy is completely relatable because in High School that is when you find out which people are fake and which people aren't. Also, I loved her friendship with Lilly, because she is just like her. Even Andy is normal and completely relatable to the everyday High School student. I just loved how normal and relatable everyone was. It didn't matter what their social status was at school or if they had money or not. Unless you were Sophia, who was Jake's (Andy's best friend) evil twin sister and was pretty much stuck up.

Perfectly You will definitely grab your attention within the first chapter and keep you reading until the end. Yes, I did have to take a break here and there but that was just to digest all the information I got about each character. It is very hard to have a love/hate relationship with characters. At some points I didn't care about the book but other than that it overall was a good book. It has earned its 4 stars with me.

Chi conosce già il mio blog e me avrà oramai capito che di fronte ad un bel young adult, la lettura è assicurata: sono una vera calamita per me, quei romanzi dolci, pieni di sogni, incertezze, paure, timori, ma che hanno sempre una nota positiva e io mi ci tuffo senza fermarmi a pensarci due volte.
Avendo letto il primo volume della Daniels ero quasi sicura che questa storia non mi avrebbe delusa e infatti così è stato: "Perfettamente tu" è una boccata d'aria fresca dopo tante letture più complesse, più tragiche ed era proprio quello di cui avevo bisogno.
Protagonisti di questa storia sono Ivy, vicepresidente del comitato studentesco, ed Andy, il suo goffo ma dal sorriso dolcissimo, compagno di banco che all'inizio di questo libro si trovano alle prese con un'asta per raccogliere fondi per la festa del diploma.
Non dico altro sula trama, la sinossi parla già da sé, e non voglio rovinarvi la lettura quando deciderete di prenderlo in mano e tuffarvici dentro.
Ivy, questa ragazza che all'apparenza sembra estroversa, solare, sempre pronta a "sistemare le cose" senza però accorgersi che nella vita spesso ci sono dei limiti da non superare, che con il tempo si impara a pensare prima di parlare e che in alcuni casi la dura e spietata sincerità non è sempre il massimo: insomma spesso sembra un elefante in una cristalleria, ma ricordiamoci che è un adolescente e che sbagliando si impara. Ivy che ha bisogno dell'aiuto del ragazzo goffo, del suo compagno di banco e che piano piano si renderà conto di quanto c'è di buono in lui.
Andy, questo dolcissimo ragazzo, è il prototipo che può far innamorare chiunque: dolce, dal cuore tenero, dalla pazienza infinita, ma che come tutti gli adolescenti ha anche lui i suoi problemi, i suoi sbalzi d'umore e le sue giornate no. Ma a me lui piace anche così perché lo rende reale, credibile, tangibile.
I due ragazzi non saranno soli perché con loro ci sono Lily e Jake ( i rispettivi migliori amici), due personaggi che non potrete non amare e che porteranno ancor più ironia a questa dolcissima storia.
Il punto di forza di questa storia, oramai lo avrete capito, sono proprio loro, i ragazzi: da Ivy ed Andy a tutti quelli che gravitano loro intorno, sono credibili, ben descritti, realistici e per questo affezionarsi a loro diventa davvero semplicissimo.
I romanzi della Daniels si stanno confermando dei meravigliosi young adult per staccare la spina, tornando ad essere adolescenti, alle prese con i primi amori, le prime incomprensioni e la crescita che questi comportano.
Scritto in maniera scorrevolissima, il libro si divora in un weekend, ridendo e sorridendo per le avventure di Ivy ed Andy.

Young Adult is one of the genres I like reading but sometimes the school atmosphere gets to me with its high drama. This book has a bit of drama to it but then whose high school experiences has been calm and quiet? But it works within the plot and isn't overdramatised. I have not read the author's previous work. So I was pleasantly surprised that she has handled it with the right amount of fun and seriousness. I am glad I had a chance to read her work. Now I am thinking of reading her other book too.

When I first read the blurb, the idea which caught my eye was the makeover of Andy for the date auction. My thoughts were along the lines of enjoying the way a nerd is transformed into a hot guy. But as I read the book, I realised that it was a bit misleading. Andy was cool from the beginning and though he hid his personality from others, he had a definite way of looking at things and was more mature in his thoughts and actions. Ivy was through and through a teenager. She was more interested in not getting humiliated and was under pressure not to disappoint.

Though I liked them both, Andy was my favoured one. Ivy fell a bit short from my expectations. But she made it up in the end. The only thing I didn't like was the way she kept comparing Andy with Rob. If you ask me, there was no comparison at all! One thing I have to highlight was the shenanigans of their friends, Jake and Lilly . They had me constantly giggling with their antics. I loved them!!

The premise of the book is interesting and the story's plot and pace are in sync with each. I spent a good couple of hours enjoying Andy and Ivy's story! I hope I will enjoy her other books in the future as much as I did this one.

Sooo I can understand in some ways why Andy was mad at Ivy for what she did by trying to change him. Because it can make the person you trying to change mad especially when you are dating that said... person or best friends with that person.

I was glad that Lily told Ivy about herself when it came to Andrew. Plus, I was sort of irritated that Andrew disses Ivy like that at Sophia's party. Then didn’t call or anything. Especially when it came to the auction for the school. Then finding out that he wasn’t mad anymore but it was some of Sophia doing.

If you realize something ... when Sophia came towards Ivy in the backstage or wherever she was at and said what she said. That is what she had planned. In the end; I was glad that Andy came to Ivy to fix his relationship because I was irritated by him. Because you could tell that he hurt her not once but twice.

But should’ve known Sophia was dirty. Even Rob was no good. I would’ve love to see what Jake had to say to his sister though. I know that would’ve been good too. Plus; I know Rob probably. Noo, I know he felt some type of way when Sophia bet at that auction for Andy. More likely he probably was jealous of Andy anyways. Plus; Sophia didn’t want Andy to me I think she only did that because of Ivy.

I liked Jake and Lily together especially with they both pretending that they didn’t like each other but did. But what was priceless was every time Jake made his sister mad; and Lily slapping her was once of the best parts in this book. Because I could tell Sophia deserves it. Especially with the crap, she said about Lily...

I had been looking for a fun, sweet, and romantic YA novel to read and I'm so glad I picked up Perfectly You!

I liked the first book in the series, Perfectly Oblivious, a lot, and I was worried I wouldn't enjoy this one as much. However, I think it's my favorite in the series so far.

Ivy is smart, loyal, and fun. I liked, though, that she wasn't too perfect or too stubborn to recognize her own faults. She was a believable teenager, too, not a caricature of what an adult author believes what one should look and act like.

Andy was a big surprise! I loved that he was not the normal 'hot guy' leading man. He is confident without being cocky and has no problem being himself even if it doesn't make him popular.

The plot progressed at the perfect pace. I felt like there was enough to let the reader get to know the characters and to not rush the story, but it wasn't so long that there was extra filler scenes or characters.

I loved the shout out to Bianca and Cameron from the first book, but wish we would have gotten a scene or two with them in it.

I was very very impressed with this book. I made the mistake of reading the 'teaser' at the end of book one and was immensely disappointed that this book wasn't out yet. Light at the end of the tunnel...I snagged an ARC copy and it was WELL worth the wait. I really enjoyed this book even more than the last book in the series. It was fun to be in the same world/story line as the previous book with a new spin. Andy and Ivy were FUN to read about...but I have to say Lilly is really the star of the show. Her spaztastic personality really helped win me over. If you are looking for a fun light read THIS is your book. I believe it will be available on amazon for $2.99 which is a steal of a deal. If you haven't preordered it yet, read the first one (included with kindle unlimited) and patiently await the release of this one. Robin Daniels has a great writing style and I cannot wait to see what she comes out with next!

I really enjoyed the first book in this series but i can honestly say i enjoyed this one even more.

I love how real the characters felt, how sweet and loveable they could be but at the same time how full of imperfections they were.

Although Ivy and Andy were the main characters in this story there was enough of Lilly and Jake that you could easy route for them too without it taking anything away from the other two.

I loved the passing metions of a character from the previous book that left the fan in you squeeing with delight but if you hadn't read it (Why Not!) it wouldnt in any way effect your enjoyment or the storytelling of this book. Almost like a little easter egg :)

I read this book through Kindle Unlimited but like its predecessor it is now firmly in my Amazon wish list for a Paperback copy all of my own.

I really look forward to seeing what comes next from Robin Daniels and especially the next book in this Series.

Un'idea originale ed è ormai una consuetudine dell'ultimo anno al college la cosiddetta asta degli appuntamenti. Ivy fa parte del consiglio studentesco e vuole che quest'asta vada a finire bene ma i ragazzi devono essere 10 e gliene manca uno all'appello.
Potrebbe fare al caso suo il suo compagno di arte un po' timido e sempre in disparte, è simpatico ma dovrebbe migliorare il suo look. Ed è proprio standogli vicino e curandosi personalmente del suo cambio da brutto anatroccolo a principe azzurro che Ivy non può più fare a meno di Andrew e... il suo appuntamento all'asta se lo vuole aggiudicare proprio lei.
La storia è scorrevole ma ad un certo punto manca un po' di passionalità, sarà che ero più interessata alla storia dell'amico di Andrew Jake con l' amica strampalata di Ivy Lilly, sicuramente più sciolti e più coinvolgenti. Un buon libro comunque 😉

I picked this book up today and could not put it down! Yes it is a YA book since the characters are seniors in high school, but they have the same sort of problems that everyone has in life. In this case it was Ivy discovering that her friend Andy might be more than what she expected. For Andy it might be that his crush on Ivy could come to fruition. There is also the typical drama you expect among teenagers...hey we were all one at one time or another!

I though Lilly was a hoot. She isn't your typical kid and marches to her own drummer. She is not afraid to be the wacky one with how she dresses. Many could take lessons from her. It isn't as if she doesn't care...but she maybe cares a little less and is comfortable in her own skin.

Definitely worth a read!

Out of this series this one was my favorite! Ivy is a total type A personality where Andy is not. I loved watching their story unfold and I just loved Andy's character. It was great to see how they worked out together and balanced each other. I also enjoyed the side romance of the best friends in addition to the main characters and just really enjoyed all the characters.

These books can be read stand along and characters from the other books do make appearances but never really affect the overall story.

If you are looking for a cute and fun light romance story, I highly suggest this one.
