Renee Andrews has not trust men since her father walked out of her life as a child, not even her boyfriend Mark has broken her protective walls down. He is everything she has ever imagined in a boyfriend and potential husband, but there is no spark between them. It isn't until she meets Lance Wreight that she begins to feel alive. When he touches her her body comes to life, but what could the blonde haired, blue eyed Adonis possibly want with her?
Lance Wreight has spent his life working to achieve success to be able to support his mother, brother and sister. At a time in his life when he seems to have done that the only thing he wants is to find a woman to love and start a family with. He spots Renee alone at a table in the club he owns with his brother and starts a flirtation that will have him chasing the elusive Renee Andrews until he catches her.
Kimberly Smith was born in Aurora, Colorado, and raised in Dallas, Texas. Nothing about her life has ever been simple or easy. She was raised by a single parent who was visually impaired. Kimberly always had an active imagination.
This heroine has major self esteem issues and constantly compares herself to her attractive friends. She wouldn't sleep with her boyfriend but she sleeps with a guy she barely knows. Yes, she's a cheater!
The hero is a stalker. He followed her to one of her work destinations AND later when she said she'd return his call, he showed up at her door without phoning first. HELL NO and OH NO, HE DIDN'T!
Her actual boyfriend is anxious to get in her pants and tries to bribe her with an engagement ring, partly because he feels they're a good match, but mainly because he wants to have sex with her. Her boyfriend actually had the nerve to say the following to her:
“All the little sensual things that you do like licking your lips, pushing your breast out and the way you walk swinging that bodacious ass of yours. I am not one to force myself on a woman, but you must know how bad I want to be with you.” He stopped, looking at Renee like he was a madman. “I'm sorry, I've said too much. I want you Renee, but know this before we move to Chicago, I will have you in the most intimate sense.”
The hero/ine fancy themselves in love after two weeks. I didn't feel the chemistry, nor the love. I heard Book 2 is better. I'll let you know. In the meantime, read it -- your opinion may differ.
Renee was an average size woman with serious weight and self esteem issues. Lance took one look at Renee and experienced love at first site. The bulk of the book is him chasing her and her running off. It got old quick.
Renee was also holding onto a boyfriend that she had no interest in. The Mark character didn't really add to the story because the dialogue between Renee and Mark was repetitive.
I wish the author had explored more about this couple once they admitted their feelings for each other. The ending felt abrupt and unfinished.
Love! Love! the characters in this one! When Lance began to sing Marvin Gaye's song & coax Renee onto the dance floor I thought Lance was a brother. But he turns out to be a brother from another! This Wreight Boy has got swag !!! The Sunday BBQ with Renee's family took me back! Ol' school showed the young kids how it's done! When blonde hair, blue-eyed Lance started bumping & grinding & twerkin' the whole family became smitten with Mr. Weight! This book is full of laughter & good times guaranteed to make you you smile for a while!!!!
The story was engaging from the start. It truly disappoints me when you have to read several chapters of a story before it interests you. Lance and Renee are sultry and romantic together and they make you want to turn to the next page. The characters remind you of your friends and are relatable. My only issue is you left me hanging at the end I wanted more romance!!
Omg I loved this story. Renee and Lance. One of my favorite book couples. They were perfect for each other, not just the sexual, but the friendship, the respect they had for each other. Mark was a dud. I thought he was going to try and force himself on her, luckily she dumped him. I can imagine how happy they will be. Now we need to find a girl for Perry, his brother. Hint hint. A great story. Held my interest.
This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. Lance and Renee are a cute couple and it was good to see their love develop. But I was a bit disappointed with the ending. Mark’s speech was predictable but Renee’s response was awesome. Even with that, the ending still made me feel like something was missing.
Without even looking for it something new came along. Despite insecurities and fears Renee took a leap of faith and found wonderful. Comfort zones are not always safe havens. I loved how Lance had the courage to go after what he wanted knocking down Renees' carefully built emotional walls brick by brick. He is to die for..hmmm..😋
This was my first read by this author. The storyline and characters were OK, but I wasn't a fan of Renee. This book definitely needed some major editing. I noticed spelling errors, unfinished sentences, and grammatical errors throughout the whole book.
A great love story. Lance was so romantic. He managed to break the ice covering Renee's heart. Mark was a sore loser. Fantastic story. Will be reading part 2.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The H/h are Lance and Renee. I love Renee's family and their relationship. As well as Lance and his brother Perry's relationship. Great characters. Good storyline. Great chemistry.
This was a good read. I didn’t like Mark from jump. He wasn’t there for her at all. But a perfect stranger stepped up. Loved their chemistry. This was a little mild as far as the steam, but the picture was clear enough. I definitely recommend.
I love when the man has to come after you and you try to run but you just can't hide and then you realize that running is not what you really want so yeah good read
