After time spent raising children, earning several college degrees, and traveling the world with the U.S. State Department, she is returning to her first love - writing.
A dreamer and an idealist, Amy writes about people finding connection in a world that can seem lonely and magic in a world than can seem all too mundane. She invites readers into her characters’ lives and worlds when they are their most vulnerable, their most human, living with the same hopes and fears we all have. An avid traveler who has lived in big cities and small towns in four different continents, Amy has found that time and distance are no barriers to love. She invites her readers to reach out and share how her characters have touched their lives or how the found families they have gathered around them have shaped their worlds.
Born on Long Island, NY, Amy has lived in Los Angeles, London, and Bangkok. She currently lives in Fort Collins, Colorado for who knows how long.
I was really excited to read these books by the very talented A.E. Wasp. The characters were well developed and the story telling was solid but the editing was horrible. I'm not talking about just typos, which are inexcusable in a published book, but major editing flaws such as continuity and flow. The worse examples were in books 3 and 4, Paper Hearts and it's follow up story. The main characters, Mikey and Benny, were often mixed up and the 4 year old daughter, Jasmine, was referred to as Julia, the dead mother, on at least one occasion. These multiple errors seriously affected the stories' flow and were very distracting as one figured out what was really going on. And there were plenty of typos throughout all 5 books. These books are examples of what is great about ebooks - getting stories to more audiences at a reasonable price- and what is horrible about them- the proliferation of poorly edited stories churned out without regard for editorial standards. I would have given the collection 2 1/2 stars if possible. If the editing were fixed, it would be a solid 5 stars, but in its current state, I cannot recommend it.
I am not sure if anyone edited this book at all, if they did they should be fired. There were so many blatant mistakes and typos that I honestly had trouble getting through this set. Wrong words were used, the wrong characters' names were used... I would be so disappointed if I put out a book with so many errors. On the up side, and the only reason I have more than one star, the characters were great. The stories were all well thought out. There was a good amount of back story for each person. I became emotionally invested in these people's lives. I am so upset that I could not give a higher rating, but my biggest pet peeve is poor editing.
I must say that some of the stories I felt deserved 5 stars and some 3 so I split the difference. I loved the first story and the third story. I liked the 2nd and the 4th but was not as big a fan of the 5th story and plus my ending had the finally chapter twice so I read it then it says Epilogue and it was the mist of the same stuff I had already read at the end of the last chapter. I was extremely confusing until I realized that it was some kind of error. Plus the story with Mikey and Benny had a LOT of name confusion. I would be reading and the name mentioned did not fit the contents of the story and I would realize that it was the other guy. I loved the stories but my biggest complaint about the last one is I am never a big fan of a series that has one book and then the next book follows or can even just back before the previous story. I then get confused sometimes.
This was a good story which touched on the important issues of military vets with issues after serving in dangerous war situations, the impact of the horrific things they faced and had to do, and the friends and families around them coping with the damages when they return. The characters were interesting and the situations felt real. The editing was really poor, however, and could be irritating to many. I'm also pretty sure even some of the characters' names were switched around mid-paragraph, as if the author had changed her mind about which character should be experiencing the subject of the paragraph, or more likely was writing fast and confused them.
This was an amazing story arc involving several couples, and I enjoyed it a lot but I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it was edited properly. There are places where one character is called by another character’s name and places where words should be but aren’t and places where words are repeated or just in the way and throws off your reading grove and takes you out of the story. And there is a good part of the epilogue in the last chapter, but you don’t figure that out until you’re a couple pages into the epilogue. All that being said I would still recommend reading these stories they will pull at your heart strings and really make you think.
Relatively minor spoilers for the first story. (2/5)
I liked Troy, maybe even more for his difficulties with PTSD and fears about handling it. Dimitri is another story. Comes from a loving family but has all the drama you could ever want and way more than necessary. He's a lethargic introvert which leads to relationship issues. By the end there's a rotation of friends visiting and his coworkers were lining up to be his friend? Seriously? I would have called the story okay if not for the unbelievable ending.
I didn't read the rest, though not because of this story. I read that there are really bad grammatical issues. It'll take me out of thr story and I'll hate it.

The basic stories of this collection are great. Only a few times did the stories drag, and the honeymoon chapters could have been omitted completely. There are so many errors (probably one per page) that really yank the reader out of the stories. Some good proofing and editing would have made this a five-star read.
The Complete Veterans Affairs Romances by A. E. Wasp. There are so many fantastic characters in these books! The story’s are wonderful! These are the books that have made me one of this authors fans. I believe I have read everything this author has written so far and will read anything she writes in the future. These books are definitely a must read!
This was a fantastic series that I would totally recommend to anyone who likes everything from romance to mild bdsm, and characters that are trying to overcome their addictions and come to terms with ptsd, life and love in general.
This box set has everything I look for in a series. Great characters, great emotions and well written storylines. She really did her research on veterans and have them great men to love them!
I loved these stories and the characters will stay with me for a long time. The book would have benefited from a little editing though. Still that did not take away from the stories.

I love all of the different stories but also connected. The dialog and communication between characters was excellent. The main problem was editing and spelling.

Appalling lack of editing has knocked a star off this book. Good stories, lovely characters, but glaring cock ups, that completely change the meaning of sentences and pull you right out of the story. Careless mistakes that really spoil a good read.
