Pendle Hill Pamphlets

God’s Spirit in Nature

Rate this book
When Judy and Jack Brown were at Pendle Hill as Friends in Residence winter term of 1995, Judy took Nancy Frommelt’s course “Global Spirituality and Earth Ethics” and for the first time encountered the idea that in a metaphysical sense the Earth can be considered the Body of God. Suddenly her environmental concerns switched from being civic duties to spiritual obligations. She saw as well how closely Friends testimonies on Equality, Simplicity, Community and Peace related to caring for the Earth and all its creatures. This pamphlet is an outgrowth of that beginning.

I did not like it. the author's wiring feels all over the place. it seemed like more personal accounts then spiritual experience and opinions. the one good take away was seeing the earth as God's body .
I don't know why at the end of the book she brought her up her shaking her young child.
