Four snarky women, four dangerous and yet hilarious adventures.
Meet Bay Winchester, Zoe Lake, Poet Parker and Aisling Grimlock. These women know how to find trouble… and make it worse. Most of the time it’s because of their mouths, of course, but sometimes outside influences come into play.
Visit Hemlock Cove, a witchy tourist town where real witches are pretending to be fake witches. Take a stop at Covenant College, where the student body is a little less than normal. Hit the road with the Mystic Caravan Circus, a group of monster hunters who do a little bit of entertaining on the side. And, finally, sit down to dinner with a reaping family made up of all men… and one very tenacious woman.
This sampler includes four full novels and is available for a limited time, so get it now.
When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail. Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.
If you haven't read Amanda M. Lee's work before start here and decide which you like most. I stated with wicked witches of the Midwest being that was my favorite but now I love all here stories own them all and read them all.
If you love snark and sarcasm and some mush. She's the best writer in her genre period. So sit back relax and go for some amazing adventures!
Sorry, but I would have given the first book in this sampler five stars, except, I didn't care for the others . I guess paranormal isn't my cuppa tea. The first book in this sampler is the first book in the Witches of Hemlock Cove series. It is hilarious and , I my opinion the best of that series. I read the entire collection and enjoyed it. I just can't get into the vampires and werewolves bit.
LOVED!!! I already have the Covenant College books, but that didn't stop me from picking this up. Soooo glad I did, because I've passed on the Mystic Caravan books before, but now I'm getting all of them, and Aisling is fun too. Getting the first full book of all the series makes this a great way to 'try' Amanda M. Lee's style. Plus Wicked Witches of the Midwest, which I feel have a slightly different tone and pace.
4 paranormal presents from Amanda Lee. Each one quite unique and only one I had read before. The Midwest Witch takes place in my neck of the woods and turned me on to a fabulous new series. The Grim book is the one I read previously and still love the characters and plot. I'm still mad that Dead Like Me is a long forgotten gem but the Grim series is a suitable substitute.
The first three were excellent. The fourth was lost to me by the family bickering. Characters seem alive especially the last story. However the intriguing hold compels you to hunger for what is on the next page. Story four gets lost in the bickering but I knew a family like that. In good faith the rating is well earned. Will have to read more of her works. Happy holidays.
Boy, this is a hard read. So much action, so many characters to keep track of. Not your normal spooky book. Which is a good thing, I guess. I got lost as to who is who and what is happening to them.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first, third and fourth stories. The second was too sexual oriented for my taste, although I completed it. I can't wait to read more of the first and third stories.
Normally I wait on a series until I read a couple of books, but this time I will make an exception. I had a good time with this book and if you like other Lee books you will too.
This book contains the first book in each of four series. The topic is paranormal, but the stories are funny, at times a little scary or tense, but not terrifying. Give it a try, I am sure that you will be looking for the next book, in all of the series.
I enjoyed the mix of stories in this collection. One, however, I felt ended just as it was getting good, and I couldn’t believe that was the end! A good group to read if you are into the supernatural.
I was a little unsure of what I was getting into, but I am glad that I picked up the book. Makes me want to read all the books for each of the series. Great writing.
The story lines were unique. All much different and interesting characters. Magic, demons, shape shifters, death . You'll find them all here and more. Worth the read.
