Duty and prophecy get in the way of everything.

All I ever wanted to do was read my books, play my sports, and help people. Life and prophecy had other things in mind.

Helping people is what I do; as an empath and semi-frequent telepath, I can easily sense and understand people's needs and emotions. Sometimes even before they do. Being able to read everyone’s thoughts and feelings all the time can drive me crazy with anxiety, but that moment when I can finally make someone’s life better makes everything worth it.

Unfortunately, I’m also the next in line to rule the galaxy, I’m the only diplomat most planets will listen to, assassins try to kill me on an annoyingly regular basis, and a much-vaunted Prophecy has decreed that I’m going to die. Oh, and someone blew up my home planet.

Kind of a lot to deal with, right?

Too bad I just got another problem: a big, irritating, overbearing bodyguard with serious anger management issues.

And I think I’m falling for him.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What a surprisingly fun series starter! With a good mix of sci-fi, intrigue, humour, action, and delicious romance, Joined is a new debut out today from Mara Gan. Meda is a spunky ruler-to-be from a destroyed planet and – though she won’t admit it – somewhat in need of protection from the mercenary Perseus. Fate brings these two crazy kids (ok, not kids) together, and the result was an entertaining story that I read in a day, despite it being over 500 pages long. Also, a note, this is a sci-fi romance, not just a sci-fi with a touch of romance. Keep that in mind!

I’m not a big sci-fi geek in the sense that I’ve watched all of Star Trek and can list off reams of pure sci-fi novels. However, I do enjoy sci-fi from a scientific point of view, specifically in terms of evolution, biology, and anthropology. Gradually learning about the different humanoid races in this world and their cultures was rather fun. The tie-in to mythology was also cool.

So. Tropes. They were there. For a start, we have a short and petite heroine matched with a tall, hulking hero, with a square, stubbly jaw, dark hair, dark eyes, and bulging muscles. Even I had to roll my eyes a bit at that. (Also, I’m not a fan of muscles the size of tree trunks. A bit scary, no?) And yes yes “chosen one” and “special powers” yada yada. Of course, the hero has the ability to calm the heroine and vice versa. I know it’s all very Special Snowflake, but I didn’t care. I still enjoyed reading Joined. If you have a problem with it being about a chosen one falling for a chosen bodyguard, then move on. But if you can get over it, this is a pretty good book!

I did find a fair number of inconsistencies and repetition, which was a little distracting from the story. Facts that were useful for world-building would be repeated in full (though rephrased) mere pages later, giving me a sense of déjà vu that pulled me out of the flow. It didn't help that this book was rather long and slow-building, and I think pages could have been cut with some more editing.

But hey, first book, right? And despite all its flaws, I honestly found it difficult to put the book down when I had other things to do. As I recently said for Book of Fire by Michelle Kenney, I do think Joined is a great debut, especially in the NA sci-fi romance space, and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

I found this book giving off Throne of Glass vibes along with some Star Wars bits. It starts off with Meda who is a non-royal born into a prophecy that deems her saving the galaxy. She has a bodyguard who is a mercenary but she doesn't think she needs one and is perfectly fine being able to do what she wants. Meda is an empath and semi-frequent telepath who gets overwhelmed sometimes with all the people around her and escapes quite a bit that her bodyguard, Perseus gets angry with her. Not wanting to spoil but Meda ends up falling for Perseus.

I loved the plot of the story but the description of Perseus was a bit too much, I'm not a fan of big muscled guys even tho he did sound rugged and handsome. I also found it a bit deeming that he kept calling her "little girl" even though it changes a bit in the end after they are both in love.

In other words, I would recommend this book to anyone who likes sci-fi, humor, fantasy and a bit of action. I feel this book provided a lot of those things along with romance of course but not too much it was overbearing.

This is an awesome story!

It reminded me of popular YA fantasy stories, such as Throne of Glass. However, this story has a princess who gets a protector.

Though this is a stereotypical story (of the princess being saved), Meda is very rebellious. She is a multidimensional character: she has flaws. But I really liked her.

The story was fast-paced. Some parts were repetitive because Meda kept acting up in the same way, which was frustrating. But the action moved quickly, so I was never stuck in one place too long.

I really liked this story and recommend it for YA fantasy readers.

I received a copy of this book from YA Bound Book Tours in exchange for a review.

Joined by Mara Gan was an rather unique sci-fi/romance/the special one, story that had my reading until the wee hours on the morning.

Okay lets start with something that, not so much I didn't like, but what drew me out of the story and had me skipping some pages to get back on track. This my friends is about filler, unnecessary repetitiveness filler, that drives up the word and page count. I would like to say, that once I am told the background of an important situation, or background info on anything really, then I'm not going to forget it three pages later. Rather I store that info for possible connects and may be, or to figure out possible plot twist. I do not need the same this it told me to, almost word for word, over and over again. This brakes the flow, and pulls you out from the rather witty, engaging story, that Joined is. I did also wasn't too pleased with the very harlequin like MC's. Pluse I'm not a big fan of big bulky men, and this is coming form a short petite person.

With that out of the way, lets get into this things that made me fall head over heals with this story. For starter it was so entreating, and fun that, I overlooked what I normally would not and powerful through this outstanding story. Outside of the my reading vib getting disturbed, the plot was on point, the writing as I said was wicket fun and the dialogue was probably my favourite thing about this book. The characters had amazing chemistry and just pinged off one another. The world building, was like... I can't even tell you how beautifully written it was. So much rich detail that made it a picturesque read, and a treat for the mind. And that opening, way to heart a girls heart in the first few pages!

In all, this book is something special, though I so believe another go on the edit table wouldn't hurt, just to cut that filler. It will smooth out the story and take it form an OMG story to a... Holy F(*&^%$ story, that leave you breathless.

I highly recommend you get your hands on this stellar intergalactic treasure. It will pull you in, rip out your hearts, clean up the mess and have you laughing out loud, before crushing you again.

I need to read the next book... yesterday!

Happy Reading

Joined by Mara Gan a five-star read you will want to be joined at the hip with. This is the first book in the Joined series and also the first book by this author I have read, it was a classic case of judging a book by its cover and being glad I made the right choice. I liked the cover as it reminded me of another book that I loved by an author I adore, and I’m pleased I picked it up as it was well worth a read and I can’t wait for the second book. It is a dramatic read, and it will suck you in to a different world, but there is an amazing lightness to the chemistry between characters that will keep it refreshing. Meda is a great character and one you will easily fall into step with. Thank you Mara for your beautiful words.

*this book was sent to me in exchange for an honest review*

I absolutely loved this book and I am so mad I will have to wait till the next one comes out!!
The romance was understated for quite a lot of the book which I liked because you really got a sense of their journey as a couple.
I don't normally read sci-fi books so this was a nice change for me and has persuaded me into reading more.
I loved the writing style and I really want to read more from Mara Gan.
I loved the plot and characters too. in summery it was pretty amazing. The only draw back for me was I wasn't extremely interested in the politics side at the beginning but I developed a fondness for it as it progressed. 5/5 stars.
I will have a full post up on my blog.

Joined by Mara Gan was a fulfilling scifi/fantasy romance. I would give this book a 5 out of 5. I thoroughly enjoyed the story building and character development. Meda was a fantastic read, I really felt close to her throughout the book. Her protector is notorious around the galaxies, but is not what he seems. I had trouble putting the book down!

“She is the raven, and she is the wanderer
Chaos dwells in darkness while an ancient lady fights
She is the one soul created to save the galaxy
And swallowed by the shadows in the ultimate price."
~The Prophecy

This is the first book that I have read by Mara Gan. I wouldn’t normally have chosen this genera, especially as a first time reading a new author, but I was hooked with the blurbs and by the description of the main character that was portrayed. I did find the writing to be captivating and interesting enough to read through the whole book and want to know the outcome. Warning, this does have an almost unexpected cliffhanger, but I am sure it will be well worth it when the next book comes out in the series, as it was written so well that I didn’t even mind the cliffhanger like I normally would. My main complaint is that this book was very much so overladen with the same repetitive detailing in the writing. I am not sure if this is just the writing style of this author, or perhaps just something that could be re-edited in the future for a much easier flowing read. This is my reason for my four-star rating. However, like I said this book was still gripping enough to keep me reading even through the harder parts to sit through with the repeating. I mostly adapted and skimmed over these parts, by the end of the book I had adjusted enough on my own to really enjoy the book.

This said this is a very sci-fi and romantic adventure story. It has a little bit of everything and that is what makes this stick out among you’re a-typical science fiction book about a galaxy and two characters who are fighting for a forbidden love.

Princess Andromeda, also known as Meda, is the prophesized next ruler of the Galaxy that she was born into. From birth she is raised and trained for this role away from her family. Meda is a strong and feisty woman, that becomes quickly relatable within the first few chapters of the book. She is an empath that has a love for reading. So much because she just wants to escape the reality that is her life. One where everyone is out to kill her and stop her from becoming the leader she is supposed to be.

When her home planet is blown up in an attempt to thwart her prophecy she is given the most feared assassin in the galaxy as her protector and guard. Perseus is from a kind of people that are known for being unruly, rude, and well an overall jerk. Regardless, the two develop feelings for each other along the journey. You find yourself really learning to like Perseus, especially once you realize why he is the way he his, and the past he has survived to get where he is today. I found myself rooting for the romance in this book the most. I really thought it made this novel stand out among the sci-fi romances I have tried in the past. I also enjoyed the breaks of comedic relief to balance the disaster and death that Meda is constantly fighting.

I will be reading the next book once it is available and do hope that Mara Gan hones in the detailing a little. I am sure it will be a five-star read if that is the case.

Joined is the first book in the Joined Series and debut novel by Mara Gen. What an exceptional, and spellbinding start to what I can imagine will be a phenomenal series! I was really blown away by this book- completely enthralled by this unputdownable read! To produce something so polished, so imaginative, and as well written as this is, and for it to be a debut novel as well, is just sheer brilliance. I have just added another author and book to my favourites list, and her work (series) is definitely something I can’t wait to continue!
This book has so much going for it- it’s a bit mystical, with suspense, mystery, drama, danger, action, adventure, conspiracy, and a dash of romance. The characters are just superb, so well crafted, complex, and incredibly endearing. Ms. Gan’s world building skills are top notch- she has built an entirely believable, vividly detailed, rich and fascinating world (well, Galaxy actually) in which her story is set- even right down to intricate backstories, histories, and even languages. The story is elaborate, and multi-layered- with so much happening, I was on the edge of my seat.
Andromeda (Meda) is a Princess, and an Empath who has been in training to ascend the throne, since the day she was born. She’s the most powerful Heir in several centuries, her birth also brought about a mystical prophecy about the threat to the galaxy and the part she would play in saving it. That is a lot of responsibility and expectation to carry on her petite shoulders, but Meda is determined to do the best job she can. But, several attempts have been made on her life, and her advisors have hired a bodyguard, a ‘Protector” to keep her safe. When Meda finds out who he is, she’s not exactly thrilled. Can she learn to trust him, and put aside her fierce independent streak in order for him to keep her safe? Or will the sinister forces win out in the end?
Perseus has been hired to keep the heir to the throne safe. It’s not really something he had envisioned himself ever doing, as he is the most notorious mercenary in all the galaxy. But, he takes his job seriously and will do everything in his power to keep her alive, even if he has to but heads with her on a regular basis. But, she seems to disregard everything he tries to do in order to protect her. She annoys and aggravates him, and yet he has never been drawn to someone as much as he is to her. With a conspiracy against Meda, and her life on the line, will he be able to keep her safe?
You really should read this fantastic story and discover all the wonderful details for yourself, you are bound to love it just as much as I do!
The story is set to continue, and WOW, what a way to end a book!!! I am going to be on tenterhooks until I can find out what’s happened…… and I really can’t wait to get my hands on book two…… today preferably! But I am more than sure that it will be worth the wait. (Due to release in the Summer apparently).

Kudos and thank you, Ms. Gan!!

Andromeda is the Heir to a Galaxy and this is a big year for her. She’s getting engaged, about to take over the throne, and under threat of assassination on a daily basis. Enter the Protector, who was chosen by an Oracle to see to her safety. He’s a big, dangerous mercenary who just happens to set her heart pounding double-time. Joined followed these two characters in a tug of war of emotions that had me on the edge of my seat the entire story. Just love each other already!

Great twists to the story included Meda having a really unique form of mind-reading and empath abilities, plus several other species/characters were introduced with special skills and it was fun learning about what made them different. If I had any gripes with this story it was with the use of earth-like language. For instance, “god” was used but there was never any evidence of a religious entity that might have started the use of such a term as it has on earth. Anyway, suspending my disbelief just slightly, I could overlook those and just melt into the story. And this story will reel you in fast! Gan set a fun pace with action and twists frequent enough to keep the reader engaged. The world building was well done, with just enough description to picture the futuristic and other-worldly settings but not so much that it lost sight of character and plot development.

Speaking of characters, Gan did a great job of getting me invested and wanting to peel back their layers. While altruistic almost to an extreme, Meda showed enough moments of humanoid flaws to make her believable. Her protector, Perseus was set up to be a figurative darkness to her light, but still with a golden heart. He was almost too invincible to be real at times. He somehow managed to settle a lot of fights, kill a lot of people, and still never get a scratch. Both main characters experienced growth and overcame flaws. Our side characters were numerous so many of them just didn’t get much development time, but I feel confident we will get to see much more of some of them in the subsequent books.

In conclusion, if you like fun characters and action-packed plots with a sizable dose of romantic tension and forbidden love tropes you will find an entertaining read in Joined.

Joined: Book One by Mara Gan is Science Fiction story that is engaging and fast reading. This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. This authors attention to details were creative and made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. Her story is easy flowing and is easy to understand. Her characters are both connectable and lovable. They took me on a roller coaster ride of various emotions including laughter. There are also some twists and turns that left me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen next. This is the story of a woman who just wanted to sit around reading her books, helping others and playing the sport she loved. Her problem is that duty gets in the way for her a lot. She just wants to help people with her talent of reading minds. Most of the time she can tell what is going to happen before it even happens. Because she is the next in line to rule the galaxy. But with that comes other who want to assassinate her. This is where he comes into her life. She needs a protector and he is it. Her problem with this is, she doesn't think she needs protection and he has an anger problem. On top of that, she feels that she is falling for him. I enjoyed both of these characters. She is full of attitude and wants things her way. She is strong headed but also sensitive with helping others. He is one of the best in his field. He has just as much attitude as she does but protecting her with what he was hired to do. He is determined that protecting her is exactly what he does. These two were really great together, there was even some chemistry going on with them. Their banter back and forth made me laugh most of the time. The secondary characters in this books are supportive and help make the story flow. I highly recommend this book. Find out what happens when a protector takes on a job that maybe a little more then he can handle.

a spellbinding and brilliant addition to the fantasy genre. Meda the empath is Heir to the throne of Galaxies, an outer space fantasy world, and is chosen by the oracle to save the galaxy in a prophecy. as she nears her time of ascension to the throne, attempts on her life become more common. when it gets out of hand, her advisors appoint a Protector who is also a mercenary, Perseus but when negotiations get out of hand and people aren't what they appear, will Meda manage to stay out of trouble and will Perseus be able to save her?
a brilliant read. well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn't put down. well developed characters such as Perseus with his harsh warrior exterior but caring heart underneath or Meda struggling with her abilities and duties a great supporting cast of kind friends like Kos or Yalan or Egil.
a spellbinding example of a sci fi fantasy novel with planets and magical races of people with different abilities working together. the variety of magical creatures was beautifully written. the mix of sci fi with pilots and federations and the fantasy of powers and mythology was well written and thoroughly enjoyable. the sense of loss of the hailans was excellently written with tenderness in gentle beauty. the feel of Perseus thinking he is a monster when he isn't like the others was emotive and perfectally written. I also adored the visual detail throughout the novel in particular with the hyperthal and the trees and the waterfall was beautifully written and gave a sense of calm to the reader. the depiction of anxiety and panic attacks in Meda was written to perfection as to how it can be. Overall, a wonderful read and I would give it five stars.

Joined: Book One by Mara Gan is a fantastic science fiction/fantasy novel. I have only recently started reading this genre and I’m so glad that I gave it a go as I absolutely loved this book. This is a new author to me and I had no idea of their writing style but I can safely say now that Mara Gan sure knows how to write a fantastic engaging story.
When I think of the imagination required to create this story, it blows me away. Not only are there many different characters who all play a vital role in the story but there are different nationalities, planets, galaxies etc that must have taken a great deal of imagination, planning and preparation.
As to the story itself, I was totally hooked on it from the very beginning and was taken on a rollercoaster journey to the end only to be left wanting more.
The 2 main characters Princess Andromeda (or Meda as she’s better known) and her Protector Perseus are awesome. Meda is sassy, strong willed and does not like having restrictions placed on her. As her life is under threat, Perseus is constantly exasperated by her constant rule breaking. All this is not helped by the fact that they both have feelings for each other but, with Meda being a Princess and Heir to the galaxy, her future husband has been chosen for her.
Can Perseus keep Meda safe from those who want her killed? Can the 2 of them resist the obvious feelings that they have for one another? I’d really recommend that you read this fantastic book to find out. For me, I can’t wait for Book Two as I want to know what the future has in store for Meda and Perseus.

Princess Andromeda, or Meda, was prophesied to be the next ruler of the galaxy at birth, so she was taken from her family and raised by others to be everything she needs to be to fulfill her destiny. Meda is empathic and at times telepathic, which helps a lot with diplomacy, but she just wants to have a bit of time to herself, away from all the noise in her head. Oh, and people keep trying to kill her for some reason, including blowing up her whole home planet. Now she’s been saddled with a large, uncouth, deadly bodyguard, who’s the best mercenary in the galaxy and determined to protect her whether she likes it or not. Her new Protector, Perseus, is from a perpetually angry race, and doesn’t know what to make of Meda, she’s so small and seems so fragile, but she’s smart and independent and she’s really good at sneaking away from his protection. From their first meeting, sparks fly, and they’re not all from arguing - those kisses they share are out of this world. I loved Meda, trapped in a life she never chose, and Perseus, who had such a horrible early life but rose above it to live the life he chose. I loved this story so much and was just beginning to think it was a stand alone with a wonderful ending, when bam! a cliffhanger ending popped up. Normally, I don’t really like that type of ending, but this one was just right, and I’m dying to read the next book in this series.

Joined by Mara Gan is a fantastically written book about destiny and prophecies with enough romance and humour to add a lighter side to the story. This is the first book that I have read by this author but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Meda is a simple soul. All she wants is to sit and read. She doesn’t want hassle or stress. And yet that is exactly what she has. As an empath, and something telepathic, her life isn’t not simple. And that is before you through in the assassins and the prophecy that says she is about to die. And all the diplomats are enough to make her head spin.
The worst out of them all though? The frustrating and stubborn new shadow she has – her bodyguard Perseus. She finds him annoying more often than not and with each of their head strong ways they quite often butt heads. And yet, Meda has a sneaking suspicion that, despite what she wants, she is starting to fall for him.
I loved this book. The humour running throughout it was completely unexpected but worked so well. I loved all the different elements that were in this book, from the fantasy to the romance to the humour. Each different element was executed well and added to the story as a whole. While not for some people I loved the ending to this book. It has left me wanting to much more. I cannot wait for book two to come out, it will be the top of my one click list when it does. A fantastic introduction to this author.

Joined: Book One is, as the title suggests, the first book in Mara Gan’s Joined series. It’s a sci-fi fantasy that has a fairly Star Warsy feel to it. A princess whose home has been destroyed ends up in the care of a mercenary who at least pretends that all he cares about is getting paid. There are prophecies and oracles and all sorts of wonderful things!

I really like the attention to detail in Gan’s worldbuilding, particularly with regards to the different species and races represented in the cast of characters. We learn a lot about cultural differences between the characters and these are worked out in the dynamics, and particularly tensions, between characters. The city of Galaxia, where the story is set, is buzzing with residents and visitors from across the galaxy and we get lots of insight into how they each adapt to cope with the environment.

Meda, the protagonist, is a wonderful narrator. I particularly enjoyed the insights we gained through her into the political workings of Galaxia, as well as her total disregard for the rules whenever they applied to her. It was also great to see places that she loves through her eyes. As an empath, having the story from Meda’s perspective means we also get glimpses of the emotions of other characters.

For me, this is a five-star book. I’d recommend it to Star Wars fans and anyone who enjoys a richly developed sci-fi fantasy universe.

Joined by Mara Gan, is the first book by this author and what a great opening act! Following the story of Andromeda, or Meda, who prophets have seen her as the future ruler of the galaxy has been raised from birth with this responsibility on her tiny shoulders. Being both empathic and telepathic, can make getting time to herself alone with all the noises going on in her head. While Meda does great with diplomacy she wants only to be a normal person more than anything. When death threats become a daily ordeal, Meda is given a bodyguard, Perseus, who can’t seem to makes heads or tails of Meda. Being such a tiny woman, she seems so fragile and yet the more that he gets to know her, her independence and brains seem to amaze him. From the first meeting, Meda and Perseus have sparks flying off of them, from arguing to kissing they can’t seem to get enough of each other. But will these two be able to cross the divide that brith has put between them or will they be doomed as nothing more than faded memories of what ifs? Gan is a new to me author, and boy am I glad that I picked this one up. The story of Meda and Perseus was such a great divert from what I normally read. The characters were well written, the storyline keep me intrigued and I couldn’t get enough of the slight romance elements mixed in with the sci-fi angle. If you are looking to try a new author, or just like to experience new styles of books this is one that you need to try immediately.

Joined by Mara Gan is the first book in the joined series and what a great book to start this series with. I am not normally a reader of this genre of books but thought I would give it a go when I read the blurb on the book.

Did I find a gem, I love it when I get blown away by a book I would not really read, the story was fast paced and rich with descriptions and dialogue between the two main characters that you believe you were in the room with them listening to the conversation unravel.

This is also the first book I have read by Mara Gan and I will certainly be downloading more, the way she invites you into the story with the story she weaves and you are so drawn in to the story I was reading this story way into the night not wanting to finish.

The main characters are force together, Meda being a empath she understand people and the feels they may have, but when her galaxy is attached she is given a protector, she is angry having this guy always following her but the chemistry between the two them shines through but I love the way their relationship has a slow burn and you get to see the relationship grown with the story.

I loved this book and as I said before this is my first book by this author and definitely will read more in the future, its what they say never judge a book by it's cover, give the ones you might not read a chance as you can discover a gem like this book has book.

I went way out of my comfort zone on this book. It was recommended when I mentioned I needed something different. This was definitely different for me. I don't read sci fi and I'm not a huge fan of YA, but in saying all of that I did enjoy many parts of this story. I definitely had no questions regarding the characters as they were well described and had the depth you need to truly understand. The surroundings and times I could almost visualize with the descriptive words used. There was definitely a uniqueness to the storyline which I completely appreciated.

In saying all of that, this book was a bit long and drawn out for me. I'm not crazy about reading a book I find myself having to skip through especially when an author works so hard to give me the words to read, but I did skip quite a bit, it felt very wordy in many places and I might be exaggerating a bit but it almost feels like half the page count could have been eliminated. Okay, maybe not that much but it did leave me with that feeling.

Again..in saying all of that I will be reading the next in this series as there was enough of a cliffhanger to have me craving more, and although this story did not change my choice of not reading this genre it is quite possible that the next in the series will.

Definitely do recommend for anyone that loves a good NA SciFi romance novel without too much of the romance.

I absolutely fell in love with this book and read it all in one day! I really loved the main characters, Meda and Perseus, as they were so well developed throughout and their relationship was so exciting. The writing style was wonderful, I really enjoyed this futuristic universe which was created as it contrasts so much to everyday life now and I could completely escape in the story! And it is important to note that creation of a new, different world was only successful because of the detail and consistency in the writing. The plot itself was so entertaining, the story provided loads of twists and turns and had an amazing climax at the end which really did the story justice. I liked how it was from Meda’s perspective as she was such an interesting character and it gave a good perspective on the story’s events but would have enjoyed a shift in perspective to maybe Perseus? But I can understand why this wasn’t done as it was more intriguing not to know how he felt throughout the book and added to the excitement of the ending. Overall, I would 100% read this book if you’re looking for an exciting story filled with amazing characters!

Joined by Mara Gan is an excellent fantasy, romantic read!!
I found that as soon as I started reading this story that I couldn't put it down. The detail the author put into the story makes you feel like your there. I loved Meda, she is such a strong woman with a big heart who wants to help everyone she can with her gift, but she also struggles with her duty to do what is expected of her. Then there is Perseus her protector, a big guy who is a mercenary and hot tempered, but he has a big heart. I really enjoyed the banter and chemistry between these two characters. I enjoyed reading about all the different races that the author has introduced in this book, and the world she created is fantastic!! This book has many twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This book also brought out a lot of emotions, I found myself laughing out loud a couple of times. This book is awesome to read as it flows so nicely throughout and has such vivid detail that it drew me in and made me feel connected to the characters and the world of fantasy the author created so wonderfully and magically. I highly recommend reading this book for all.

Joined: Book One by Mara Gan. This is the story of Princess Andromeda aka Meda who is next in line to rule the Galaxy so she is taken from her family and given to others to raise. Meda is also a empath and telepathic and only wants to read her books, play sports and help people. Only sometimes people don't want her help or even know they need her help. Being able to sense peoples emotions and thoughts even sometimes before they do can be a hard life. It can drive a person crazy but she keeps thinking it will all be worth it when she helps them. Being the next in line to rule the Galaxy is stressful in itself because she is the only diplomat most planets will listen to and she's also the one people want to kill. She is given a bodyguard named Perseus and they drive each other crazy. They argue about every little thing but there is also chemistry. The stolen kisses are kisses out of this world, literally! Will Meda and Perseus have a relationship more than bodyguard/ruler or will his jerky behavior keep Meda away. Will Meda save all the Galaxies or will her enemies win? Read Joined to find out!

Joined: Book One by Mara Gan is Science Fiction/Romance book . I was drawn in from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down. There’s a little bit of everything from action to danger and even romance. The author’s style of writing and her characters are almost flawless. Her attention to detail was incredible and I literally felt like I was right there with them. At times I was on a emotional rollercoaster ride and others I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next. This is a story about a woman who all she wanted to do was sit around and read books, help others and play the sports she loved to play. Problem is duty gets in the way of her doing that. Her talent of reading minds is what she wants to do most times she can tell what’s going to happen before it happens. She’s next in line to rule the galaxy and there are others who want her assassinated. She doesn’t think she needs protection and her protector has anger problems. Other problem with him being her protector is she thinks she’s falling for him. Find out what happens next in this must read Book. I can’t wait to see what’s next .

I loved this book! Absolutely loved it! It’s not my usual genre to read but I fell in love with these characters straight away. I was completely glued to the book the whole way through. I love Meda, she was great. She was funny, feisty and everything a female lead should be. I felt her attraction to Perseus straight away; I probably would have been like that too! He was particularly alpha male and very sexy!! The plot and storyline in the book was really good, very unique and I loved the authors writing style. There were a few repetitive moments but I easily overlooked them and enjoyed the book for what it was – a very well written sci-fi romance story.
The authors attention to detail was particularly good, I felt like I could easily imagine the setting for this story because of how beautifully described everything was.
Joined is a fantastic story and I loved every minute of it. From the characters to the out of this world setting it was an absolute joy to read and I cannot wait for more from this author in the future.

Joined was a great 4 star read and book one in the Joined series.

You get all sorts of great things in this sci-fi book, humor, action, romance and so much more. I like being taken to another world and I really enjoyed this one.

Princess Meda was great, she has feistiness to her. She also has a love for reading. She has people out to get her, trying to prevent her from taking her rightful place as the next ruler. When things take a scary twist and she is forced to flee, she has Perseus assigned to protect her. Perseus was a little bit of a jerk in the beginning but he eventually grew on me. As these two spend more time together things start to grow between them.

Can they have something together? Will Perseus be able to keep her safe?

Overall I really enjoyed this book, I had several LOL moments. Mara pulls you right in with her writing, the world she created was amazing. All of the characters were great. I will warn that there is a slight cliffhanger. If your looking for a great Sci-fi read this is the series for you. 1-click and get started today.

Joined was the first book I had read by Mara Gan but the premise of the story sounded like something right up my street and I was not disappointed. Meda is an empath who loves to read -already loving this part -but unfortunately life gets in the way, and there is the small matter of a prophesy about her and her inevitable death! When she is assigned a burly bodyguard who is very different from her, sparks fly in the best way.
I was hooked on this book from page one. The writing was vivid and full of description and I felt like I was there with Meda experiencing what she experienced. The supporting characters and the worlds the author created were also really strong. This book had it all. Laughter, tears, and even an unforeseen cliff-hanger of an ending which means we get to read more from this author in the very near future! Fab book. Totally recommended to those who like the Fantasy genre or anyone who likes an adventure.

“Joined” was a pretty great story. I really loved how the characters had amazing dialogue and the plot was fantastic. You really felt like you were watching the characters interact with each other and not just reading about it. There was a ton of details that gave you an amazing picture of the surroundings, which only made it that much better because you could really visualize a place like this. I did get a little frustrated with how much information was repeated and didn’t need to be. I felt like it took away from the story and was just added to help make the book longer. Even with the unnecessary information, I felt compelled to keep turning the pages to find out what would happen next. With power there will always be others who want to take that away from you and it shows in this story. I would recommend this story to just about anyone and I do look forward to the second book to see where the journey takes these characters.

Joined is the first book by Mara Gan is one incredible read and is wonderfully written story. It is a Sci Fi, Fantasy, romance that is a winner. I am not typically a Sci Fi lover but I loved this gripping and riveting story. Mara’s unique writing style makes it easy for this magical world of magical races to become a reality. The story is well written and thoroughly enjoyable with a plot full of twists and turns, mystery an intrigue, bounties and evil that will keep you on your toes and unable to put it down.

Meda is Heir to the throne of Galaxies and prophesied as the savior to the galaxy. Perseus is a Mercenary hired into the role of Protector. What he doesn’t realise is that this job would be his toughest assignment to date, in more ways than one. Can Meda stay out of trouble? Will Perseus be able to save her?

Overall, this is a brilliant read and I am anxiously awaiting the next book to see what happens to Meda and Persius.

The story Joined: Book One by Mara Gan is a YA/Science Fiction/Romance book. It is a story that pulls you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let you go until that final page. I loved the storyline and also the characters. The main female character is independent, strong, intelligent, and stubborn. She has a bodyguard that is overbearing and very protective of her. She also is finding herself with an attraction to him. The bodyguard is determined to keep her safe. He also feels the pull of an attraction to her. Read this book for their full story. This is a book that has action, danger, and romance. There are times when I was turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. There are other times when I was getting caught up in the romance between the main characters. This is a story that hooks you in and keeps your interest all the way through. It is a story that I would highly recommend reading.
