Eighteen-year-old Mika Ferrier has never concerned herself much with stories of the war between men and dragons, but her life changes in an instant when she is pulled through a portal that appears suddenly in her room one night. She awakens in an opulent palace in the company of a huge, handsome man who explains that he has taken Mika captive for her own protection.
Casimer, King of the Dragon Realm, has been watching Mika for a long time. Though she does not know it, dragon's blood flows in her veins, and she will never truly be safe on Earth. But while he brought Mika to his world to keep her safe, when Casimir realizes that she is in desperate need of taming he decides to claim the beautiful, headstrong girl as his pet.
After Mika is stripped bare and spanked thoroughly, her owner sets about training her, and soon she has been fitted with a leash, collar, and tail. Yet even as she blushes crimson while kneeling naked at the dragon king's feet, Mika cannot help yearning for him to take her in his arms and make her his own. But can she dare to hope that one day she will be more than merely his pet?
Publisher's Note:The Dragon King's Pet is a stand-alone book which is the third entry in the Dragon Brides series. It includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
Amazon Top 100, USA Today bestselling, and #1 bestselling author in multiple Amazon categories, Loki Renard writes sizzling hot, occasionally dark and twisted stories of dominance, submission and discipline.
First read by this author, I love shifter books and went into this one hoping for good things. Unfortunately that wasn’t to be. The dragon king kidnaps a young girl in an attempt to save her from those who would harm her. She is told by him that she is his pet, Mika is headstrong and refuses to behave, so for the majority of this she’s punished by the king. Spanking her and then giving her orgasms. Wash rinse repeat. There is some action and actual story thrown in at the end, but that couldn’t save this IMO.
If you don't mind spankings and humiliation this book will undoubtedly intrigue you. The story builds upon the premise of the king of the Dragon world who pulls the innocent but curious and rebellious part Dragon part human girl into his kingdom to protect her from humans eager to collect her because of her rare mixture of genetics. She has no idea how serious the danger was but she doesn't want the king to treat her like his pet. The story develops into a surprising relationship that has many unexpected turns during the couple's journey. It's well written and intriguing. I recommend it and the entire series which is written as each a stand alone book only made better by reading them in order! Kudos Loki Renard!
I THINK THIS ONE WAS THE LEAST SATISFYING ONE AND THATS SO DAMNED SAD BECAUSE BOTH CHARACTERS HELD MUCH POTENTIAL TO BE UBER AWESOME.
HERO is a Dragon King who has lived a 1000 years and I believe he was mated once but his Crown Princess died. I honestly don't know how connected he is to Mika but when she stumbles through a portal back into the dragon realm, he claims her as his pet. Despite treating her like a pet, he does out old on the sex...though there was a lot of oral going on. Casimer didn't hit me with very Kingly vibes...perhaps not the kind that I enjoy reading about. He's more elegant.
HEROINE is a young lady in the cusp of womanhood and on her journey to losing her virginity, she stumbles into the dragon realm drunk as fuck. She is disoriented when she realizes the truth of where and who she is and this hot Dragon King is treating her like some sort of slave pet. She is pissed yet attracted to him. I was a bit put off by the level of condescension towards Mika here in terms that she really didn't have any right to speak. That was a tad annoying as a woman. Other than that, Mika's beautiful and extremely mischievous I love it whenever she gives Casimer trouble or mini heart attacks from her rebellious stunts.
OVERALL this was enjoyable though not my favourite mainly due to the lack of more action. The intimacy was there though not that intense.
I have read three of these Dragon/submissive human books now and I must say that I am indeed impressed and just a little in awe. Since I write myself, I know what it takes to take something is a BDSM nature and yet make it appealing to everyone. Some might be turned off by the "training of the pet..." But I ask everyone to keep an open mind as you read it. While I have not read any other books by this author except for the first 3 Dragon Brides, the author has quite a few other books. My personal taste for D/s falls along the SSC lines and the moment a story falters in that regard, well, that will be the last one read by me. I've been warned by some other reviewers that a line gets crossed in some of the other books. I hope that is not the case, but only time will tell. I will keep an open mind till there comes a time when I can't. For those interested, there are other authors dealing with the dragon human storyline that doesn't have the BDSM quality but is still quite hot too.
The highest compliment that I can give Loki Renard is that now that I have read them, I would very much like to share these books with my own Master. He would also appreciate the storyline. (SSC: Safe, Sane and Consensual)
Ms. Renard does dragons right! This story is another fabulous read in the series. The interactions between Mika and Casimer are great. I loved how Mika fought and fought the king. She did not just roll over and give up. Even when she was betrayed, she caught on and used it to her advantage. I volunteered to read and review this book for SNP.
I love these stories. This one was more of a tender story then the others. Mika was rebellious but she really didn't know where she belonged. Casmier, I wasn't certain about him but then as the story moved, we saw a more tender and loving king. It is so worth it to read these stories. On to the next in the series.
The storyline was good had a lit of potential. However I think it is the same dragon story packaged differently. No action at ALL. Until the very end something was slapped in.
I am terribly sorry for not writing review on the first 2 books. I loved these books. Definitely not for preteens or even early teens. Read away. You'll !I've them.
I enjoyed reading this spicy story. The frustrating part of reading this story was that most of it was Mika wanting to loose her virginity and focused less on her finding her true self. This story has a satisfying HEA.
Like this series, it's fun and easy. I wasn't a fan of the end, it seemed like the heroine decided to stay for no good reason leaving him to wait 30 Years? Lame But I've been actually liking these characters.
