I read it with my sister, and I felt that it was really touching! A solid 5/5!
this is part of the chev recollects series, where chev will dive deeper into children novels, which not many goodreads reviewers have done so and will like to recommend some interesting picks and books she used to enjoy/reading to her sister.

A series offered by Scholastic's Branches imprint of early chapter books. Lots of visual support for the text, making it perfect for emergent readers and children transitioning from picture books into chapter books. The diary format produces text in a conversational style, further enhanced through the abundant use of speech bubbles. The protagonist, Eva, is a likable, creative problem-solver who likes to involve and support her friends. Each volume contains comprehension questions at the back of the book.

In this eighth title of the series, Eva doesn't believe she is ready to take the Owl Oath with her classmates. As Keepers of the Forest, owls must be wise, brave, and kind to all creatures. All owls must complete a project to demonstrate their understanding of the oath, but Eva doesn't believe her project was successful. Not until many other forest creatures gather to explain how Eva helped them.

Read aloud to Meadow. My heart is so happy with how exited Meadow always is to read these books. This book was cute with the owl pledge. Meadow enjoyed it.

This was a nice book. All the little owlets are supposed to do a community service project before taking the owl oath to be a guardian of the forest, and Eva decides to become the storm soldier. Introduces a new character, Humbleton the pony! 🐴❤️

I love wolves so I was happy when I saw them in the story but almost all of the other animals other than the owls were boys! Add some girls, too!

{My thoughts} – I’m beginning to become a huge fan of the owl diaries series. I find it to have colorful illustrations that match the story within its pages. I enjoy the simplicity of the stories as well as how each book has a nice little lesson wrapped up within its pages.

In this book Eva’s class is assigned a project to help them learn what it means to be true owls of the forest. Once they complete their projects they are suppose to take a special Owl Oath.

Eva doesn’t think she’s worthy of taking the oath because she feels like her project failed. However, the night of the oath everyone convinces her that her project was a success and that she was the only owl that actually helped the Forrest animals.

If you enjoyed all the other books in this series, I’m certain you will enjoy this one as well. I can’t wait to see where Eva will take us next!

This is a great series for 2nd and 3rd graders. The story moves along so it is great for plot exploration. Each books has an important lesson about family, classroom community and self-awareness. I hope I can encourage my students to read them to delve more deeply into the themes they share. Now that spring is approaching we need to consider friendship - what it is and how it grows and changes.

Owl Diaries Eva and the Lost Pony is a super exciting book that tells the story of Eva, who finds a lost pony. Wow, can you believe it? She's like a hero!

In this book, a big storm is coming to Treetopolis, and Eva wants to make sure everyone is safe and behaving well. She calls herself the "storm soldier." How cool is that? It's like she's protecting everyone from the storm, just like a brave pirate.

But you know what? Disaster strikes in this book. Eva thinks her project didn't help anyone, and she feels really sad. It's like her hard work didn't make a difference. But don't worry, and there's a solution!

Eva learns that oats are good for horses, and she takes care of the lost pony. It's important to protect and take care of animals, especially when they're lost or in need of help. Eva becomes like a protector of sports, making sure the pony is safe and well taken care of.

I have to admit, I'm not exactly sure what "alt" stands for in this story, but it sounds like it's related to being protected. Maybe it's a special word in Treetopolis?

In conclusion, Owl Diaries: Eva and the Lost Pony is an exciting and brave adventure that takes place during a big storm. Eva's determination to help and protect the lost pony is admirable. It teaches us the importance of caring for animals and not giving up, even when things seem tough. If you love stories about bravery, animals, and unexpected challenges, this book is a must-read. Get ready for an adventure that will make you feel like a hero too!

This book has received glowing reviews and is a must-read for fans of the genre. Don't wait. Click the link to purchase your copy now!

Ava and her classmates are preparing to take the Owl Oath at the end of the week, so they must all do projects that prove that they understand what it means to be wise, brave, and kind. We see the usual amount of angst here as Ava tries to be the best while also struggling with her self-confidence. I found the book as charming as the others, and it should be noted that there are larger paragraphs/word bubbles than I remember from previous books. Also, while the other owl's projects were cute, I did find it quite funny when it's admitted that Ava's project was the only one that actually helped someone.

For: fans of owls; readers wanting a diary format and fun illustrations; readers looking for a book about being brave regardless of one's fear.

Possible red flags: angst; getting lost/stuck in a storm.

Found this gem in iLotte's Kinokuniya Book Sale a couple of months back. It tells about a little owl called Eva that wrote in her diary about an upcoming Owl Oath. This is what's in the oath:⁣

We are owls,⁣
Brave and true.⁣
We help each other,⁣
And others, too.⁣
We're wise and kind,⁣
Through and through! ⁣
We are owls!⁣
Too-wit! Too-woo!⁣

This book is so cute I can't stand it! The story is simple yet inspiring, it teaches kids to be passionate and love each other with a very adorable illustration. My daughter loves this book, she finished this book herself, this book is very suitable for first and second grader that starts to learn to read a longer story.⁣

I loved adorable Eva and the Lost Pony for its cozy illustrations, sincere characters, and effective way of emboldening young readers to think about the inherent strengths within them. For emerging readers.

Eva and her friends get to take the Owl Oath this week! They all have to come up with a project that shows that they understand the oath, about helping others and being brave and kind. Eva decides she’ll be a Storm Soldier and help warn the forest animals about the impending big storm! When the storm comes earlier than expected, Eva feels like she didn’t help anyone….but did she?

Another cute story in this series. My 4 year old is a fan!

Miss 7 loves reading about Eva. She was glad Eva was able to rescue the lost pony.

Miss 7 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

ALWAYS love these books, and a good storm and spontaneous school sleepover made it even better.

I do think there was a lot more condensed text in this story compared to #1-7, but it was still very cute.

It's time for Eva to take the Owl Oath but she's not sure if she's brave, wise, and kind. It takes a scary adventure with a woodland pony during a storm to show her her true "wings." Another great Owl Diaries. Love these!

Kinda👏🏻👏🏻

I like this children’s book, but it’s not a lot like a diary. I think you need to make it look like handwriting, and don’t make chapters, just make dates. Anyway, great stories.💗

Cute book and very colorful and fun illustrations. The book is about an owl named Eva who has to do a project to help the forest before she can take the Owl Oath. It has a great moral of being brave and kind no matter how scared or nervous we are.

I love the idea of "branching" kids into chapter books, but I thought this was a little bland and repetitive, even for the age group. The illustrations are cute though!
