It's the first week of school, and Peachy couldn't be happier. This year, she can finally join the school newspaper! She's always pictured herself as a star reporter, writing articles that make a difference. But when Peachy goes to sign up--and drags her hyper best friend, Keen, along with her --- they learn that the paper has shut down for good. No one's reading the news anymore! Peachy is crushed. Just then, Keen gets a text alert, and Peachy's wheels start turning. What if the newspaper were published to student's tablets! Peachy is determined, and Keen is hungry --okay, kind of determined but mostly hungry--and they set off to make it happen. But most of the students they try to recruit are more interested in other clubs, and all of the teachers are too busy to be their advisor. Plus, Peachy & Keen get in a huge fight. Will Purrfect 9 Magazine be doomed before it even begins--along with their friendship?
Jason Tharp has dreamed of being an author and inventing crazy creatures since he was a kid. Being an obsessive daydreamer and doodler has led him to create many licensed properties, write books, and design clothing and various other products. Jason's story proves that with hard work, determination, and a sprinkle of magic, anything is possible. He lives in Columbus, Ohio, with his super-awesome wife and kids, plus one extremely fat kitty.
I think this dealt with issues that can really happen and had humor. Keen is awesome and adorable. I would read on. I was surprised though because I thought this was more of a graphic novel and I'm not an expert but this felt more like a chapter book with pictures. *Read Date Unknown - Probably Dec 2021*
This book is a cute beginning reader about a cat, Peachy, who wants to run her school's newspaper and enlists her dog best friend, Keen, into helping run it. Peachy reformulates the newspaper and has to recruit other animals into joining the newspaper staff so it will not get shut down by their principal. The overall messages of friendship and perseverance, and the numerous puns throughout this book make this a great read for children.
Overall, I would say this is an entertaining read that most children will probably enjoy.
I was given an ARC of this book from the publisher in return for an honest review.
The adorable illustrations in this chapeter book grabbed and I brought it home from the library for the kiddos. 4th grader breezed through this easy read and said it was cute. I sat down and read it; cute story of friendship, working together to meet goals, and not giving up. Good read for kiddos.

Unfortunately, they soon learn that the paper has shut down for good; no one's reading the news anymore! Peachy is crushed! Just then, Keen gets a text alert, and Peachy's wheels start turning. Will they find a solution for keeping Purrfect 9 Magazine vital to the school, or will it be doomed before it even begins--along with their friendship?
