Sergeant Van Harris of the Las Vegas PD wins a poker game that changes everything. The prize: tickets to the National Boxing Championships.
Eli Thompson is the first omega to hold the heavyweight title, and when Van sees him fight, he falls hard for the strong, powerful omega. The bold cop approaches the champ, asking for a date, but goes down in flames. Not one to take 'no' for an answer, Van gets himself assigned to Eli's protection detail, and manages to snare his protectee's attention.
But when Van wants to take things further, Eli pulls back - until Van takes a bullet in a robbery gone wrong. The event crystallizes Eli's feelings, and the champion fighter takes the wounded cop in to help him recover.
The support goes both ways as Van helps Eli prepare for a fight against an ex-boyfriend turned rival. Eli's fighting career is becoming the stuff of legends...until the powerful omega discovers he's carrying alpha Van's child.
"Heavyweight Daddy" bobs and weaves through intensely passionate and sweaty, steamy scenes in this 50,000 word gay mpreg novel by Austin Bates. Emotional and intense sexual encounters make this thrilling story suitable for adult audiences only.
I never really felt that connected to the characters and although this was different from other mpreg stories I’ve read, I still prefer my Omegas a bit smaller than the big boxing champion that Eli was. (And boxing is so not my thing)
I think this may be my favorite from Austin Bates so far! I totally fell for Van and Eli - they are such awesome characters! Van is a police officer is Las Vegas and also an alpha and during a poker tournament he wins a pass to a huge boxing tournament which is where he meets Eli. Eli is the heavyweight champ, he's also an omega and despite being huge in size he has the softest, sweetest heart. There's a instant connection between these two, but it's a bit of a slow start for them. Van would love to dive into a relationship, something, with Eli but he's a bit guarded and afraid of getting hurt again. When Van is hurt on the job though, it seems to put everything in perspective for Eli and he finally admits his feelings for Van.
I really enjoyed this story, it was sweet and fun and low on angst. I adored the relationship between Eli and Van, their cute flirting and sweet love. These two build their relationship together and when surprised with a baby, Eli really has to come to terms with who he is and who he wants to be. Eli's journey was very touching, to see him become so strong on the inside as opposed to just strong on the outside. Eli definitely has to face more challenges in this story, but it's Van who is always beside him, protecting him and loving him as he faces and overcomes.
Overall, I think this is a great read from Austin Bates - his best so far!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
It was a nice read, I enjoyed that it went outside the box with having a strong Omega, I know that there are a lot of people that disagree with that. But I love the fact that it wasn't a omega that needed soft treatment and that he actually preferred something more aggressive. He still had a the heart of an Omega and I loved that. It said a lot about him and that is rare in Alpha and Omega books. I did feel like there was something missing from the book but I love the chemistry in the book between them and that it wasn't just an instant lets jump into bed kind of thing.
it was such a sweet book you couldn't help falling in love with Elli and Van. And it was against the cliche too which gave the story a really refreshing scenario.
I really enjoyed this read, the first half especially grabbed me and I adored every moment. The MCs Van and Eli were great fun, the alternating povs worked so well and they complimented one another.
All of the backstory details was perfect and the introductions, their developing romance was wonderful. I adored their flirting, the glances and little details - the workouts, eating together and just all of the comforting between them.
Sadly the second half went a bit chaos in comparison with lots of drama, but still worked overall and loved the boxing scenes. The action is amazing! But just lost some of the charm for me and felt almost rushed, a change in pacing for that last part.
Although I did admire the discussions here, between Van and Eli - finding a life together that works for what they both want. Oh and the children were lovely, the fans and the club scenes so cute.
Overall this book captured me and I enjoyed the concept so much, something different and made me smile 💛
MM. Alpha/ Omega. Eli is a championship winner boxer. And an Omega. His career has been a battle because he is an Omega and his personal life has not been any better. Alphas have derided him for being an athlete and a large man. These terrible relationships have destroyed his self esteem. Van is an Alpha and a police officer. His first glimpse of Eli is all he needs to fall for the Omega. Convincing him of his sincerity is a fight he is not willing to lose. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Good story and fast paced. It was about a Liam and Simon. Boat tour guide who sells drugs and a omega who is treated like crap from his brothers fiance and his family. They have a lot of drama with missing sisters, hothouse burning and even espionage as double agents. Problem the end was wrapped up to quickly. The case solved and then reunited with family. We never got to see what happened at the precinct our babies births. But it was okay for the wrong file that was uploaded.
Eli and Van story is sweet and funny. Eli has had his share of bad boyfriends but one look at Van has him wanting to give love one more try. Eli never knew winning a game of poker was going to change his life. Van had his work cut out for him with trying to date Eli. When Van is hit with a blow to his heart he doesn't know what to do. It takes almost losing Van before Eli get his act together but will it be to late
Good and fun, reminded me of another MM that I love, and with this being a Bates, I knew there would be paranormal aspect and I enjoyed this one else just as much. Van and Eli were amazing, good story with just the right amount of angst and thrill.
An Omega does the impossible he's the Champ. Fall for a good guy this time and have a beautiful baby boy Riley. Still the biggest champ ever to his students at a Gym he built.
With this book, the author finally hits his stride as an author. The writing is good, the story strong, the characters strong and the whole thing comes together to be interesting and enjoyable. Kudos.
I loved this book. The fact that the Omega is the boxer and thinks his Alpha is going to make demands that he actually doesn't. I like that the epilogue gives a look at the family a few years down the way. A really good read for me.
I'm a sucker for mpreg stories. So this one was right up my alley. I liked how Eli wasn't the stereotypical omega. He was just masculine and tough. He kicked ass. He was great and Van didn't treat him as if he was weak.
Overall this was a good book the love between Van and Eli was so cute and I love Mpreg novels. However the whole Rick character kind of confused because I didn't really understand what happened between Eli and Rick. As well as the whole Chicago incident was never really explained so I didn't understand what really happened to Eli. (But maybe I wasn't read as closely as I should have).
