I'm used to being in the saddle. But this time, she wants to ride me. Well yeehaw, baby. You can be my cowgirl anytime. Just remember, I buck like a stallion so hold on tight.
I didn't come to help her with the ranch. I came to steal it. But the more we work together, the more I get to know her. And the more I get to know her, the more I want to carry her into the barn for a good old fashioned roll in the hay. I want to feel her thighs gripped tightly around my waist. I want to look up and see her bouncing on me like a rodeo rider.
And here's the real kicker. I don't want it to end. They say the most beautiful thing about this ranch is the sunset over the ocean. But they're wrong. It's Alice. And I don't think I can let her go.
I don't need the descriptive moment when the H is fucking OW few moments after he met the h. NOT NEED IT! Why would I need to know another woman shit? So bye.
DNF this must be one of the most boring books I've tired to read. And the scene with the ow. I mean common the author knew she wasn't the heroine yet she uses words like. We stared into each other's eyes like the only two people in the world?! I mean if it was special what makes the heroine special?! The plot was stupid and the writing style wasn't for me. K think if I read the world 'kind' again I might scream!
Disappointment Reigns! I liked the idea of this book because I have a ranch I will never sell. I know what it means to love💓 a place in the sun and a piece of the 🌎earth so much! But much of the book was made up b s. Ok! It's fiction, but do your background homework!
Author- fyi. Reign is something a 👑 king or queen does! Rein is one of those long straps tied on to the bridle that a rider uses to guide the horse with! YEHAW!
I liked the woman rancher. Most of us like her, are tough people, friendly but not outgoing, we are best in one on one conversations. We look at the world with a skeptical and analyzing eye. We dress for comfort, warmth, and practicality. We don't walk anywhere. Why walk when you can ride, either a horse or a pickup? Ranchers and farmers are the best multitaskers in the 🌎world. Raising horses is brutal. Not every horse is a 🏆champion. Not every horse is even fit to be a plain old trail horse. In some ways a great trail horse is very valuable. Not going to get into all that here, but I did like the premise of the book. The male character, Billy, was an unlikable phony ass. The ranch foreman, Joe, was the only real man on the place.
The book just could have been so much better instead of so frivolous. This book is pure romantic fluff! Come on, man! You can do so much better. Don't let the pressure to churn out 📚books affect your skills.
Drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds.........
I guess the author expected lurid sex scenes make up for a poor plot and predictable characters. There are the usual parents. Hers were wonderful, but both died tragically. His were an alcoholic father and a mother who deserted them. She was perfect and worked hard at her ranch. He was perfect and worked too hard at his job, but had easy, fantastic sex partners who bored him. Please, there is nothing new or interesting about anyone here. The story is VERY slow starting, just giving the plot setup like it's list of things to get through until the first sex scene can maybe spice things up. Nope, it was also predictable. As I said above: boring!
Exciting Rollercoaster read. Thank you Chance Carter for another great hot, heartwarming story. Plot twists, love triangle and a surprise or two. Yes, there is a betrayal but I love the grand finale. Hot sex scenes but they add not detract from the core love story. Yes, I cried but I love that you envoke so much emotion in your story. 💎
Love this passionate and sensual story! Although right from the beginning I didn't want to like William aka Billy because of his devious plan to swindle Alice out of everything she worked so hard for. Kept me guessing all the way through about the outcome of their love. True to his style, Chance Carter kept me turning the pages following hot and passionate encounters along with sweet moments, then frustrating times when words are left unsaid between Billy and Alice. Through suffering and tragedy they learn to trust again and follow their hearts for love. Thank you for another beautiful love story Chance.
Alice's life has has so much pain and sorrow, but her optimistic outlook keeps her going while she holds the reins of her family's ranch together by a thread. William's playboy billionaire lifestyle doesn't mend the fences he's put up around his heart, but he convinces himself it doesn't bother him. He watches as his business partner scratches away at Alice's resolve to hold onto her legacy while tweaking the design of the lucrative development they want to build on her prime ocean front property. Can William as 'Billy' charm her into handing over the deed or will he ride off into the sunset alone?
Wow! Chance has brought his A game to Reverse Cowgirl in such a way that had me concerned how much his character Alice could take. I thought Billy was a scoundrel but James took that award hands down! Made me wonder if there were people like that in this world. Great character building. Great book Chance.
You have an awesome strong willed woman, who started off with some really crappy luck!!! She then is trying to fight to keep her ranch and then comes Mr. Sex on Legs. Mmmmmmm! Another must read from Mr. Carter.
This is the 1st male author I have ever read, but it isn't my first Chance Carter book. Again he amazes me with his talent for story telling. If you enjoy not just a steamy tale but one of character depth then this is a must read. You wont be disappointed.
Millionaire meets Cowgirl Oh dear, it's about to get Wild and Heated.
This book, or maybe just William aka Billy himself, will get to most women the same way I did, I think. Lol. Frustrated and Excited. First you'll Sigh then you'll Scream, just a friendly warning. His character is the perfect example of someone you'll love and hate at the same time, maybe only seperated by the paragraph on the page. haha
Now Alice is a woman to be reckoned with. Don't let her charming character fool ya, she is one tough lady that is beautiful inside and out. But lie to her, back her into a corner or mess with her heart and try to take her land, she'll become..well you'll see.
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat with it's insanely gripping story. You have money, betrayal, lies and secrets, but also the heavy dose of longing and loving. At times I wanted to hug and punch a character or two.
Mature readers, strong language ad sexual content.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of the book by its author. Reviewer for Nook Books and More Blog.
Keep tissues close! OMG Reverse Cowgirl is filled with so many different emotions. Anger, grief, lust and love. Cowgirl Alice and handsome money guy Billy. My heart was pounding as they flirted their way through the pages building to a big explosion. Tears filled my eyes and my heart . . . Well buy the book to find out why my heart was so twisted. This storyline isn't like most others. It is filled with heated passion but it's emotional too and takes you on a ride.
I received this book in advance for my honest review.
Another fun read by Chance Carter. This was a enjoyable read. The beginning of this story was a little slow on the uptake for me but when it click I could not put it down. Mr. Carter writes bad boy romance and in each book the bad boy is perfect for the good (maybe not so good) girl. There were a few twists and turns in Reverse Cowgirl that did take me by surprise. I recommend this book and author. Can't wait to see what Mr. Carter brings us next.
Chance has done it again! Another great story. I stayed up way to late to finish it in one sitting! Alice is a great strong lead character, and I loved her determination. I have to say that I was not a fan of Billy, at all, throughout most of the book. I enjoyed some of the twist I did not see coming. Another great read, thank you Chance!
For the first time since I started reading Chance Carter I thought I was going to be dissapointed ! I so thought this was going to end badly but boy did I get it wrong ! Another great story with a HEA 💜
WOW! I'm a sucker for a love story. Especially when it's so full of twist. It is full of every emotion that makes a great book. Chance did an awesome job on this storyline between Alice and Billy.
Reverse Cowgirl what an awesome book and a look into the life of a girl who loves being in the saddle!
The name's Billy and I have to state a few things about myself
1. I’m totally used to being where I belong and that's in the saddle. 2. This time I hope that I'm right with this prediction, The sweet and sassy cowgirl wants to ride me. Well I'll take that option any time of day. 3. Yeah well yeehaw, sexy lady. You're most certainly can be my cowgirl anytime. 4. I need you to just remember this about me. I definitely buck like a stallion so you had better to try and hold on tight.
Oh and also I didn’t just come to help her with her family's ranch. I only came to steal the ranch from her. Now that we spend more time working together. The more I get to know and learn a lot about her. Also I realise that the more I get to know miss sexy; the more and more I so badly and desperately want to carry her into the barn... Yeah you guessed it for a good old fashioned roll, pleasure and oh the moaning in the hay. I really need to feel her sexy thighs gripping extremely tightly around my waist. I so desperately want to look up into her eyes and see her bouncing up and down on me like a true rodeo rider.
However here's the real dealbreaker. I really don’t want to end the fun and fights we have with each other. People do say that the most beautiful thing about the ranch, is that the sun sets over the ocean. Creating a very romantic setting. For me however I know that they’re wrong. The only view that I can see and only want to continue to see is the sexy cowgirl Alice. It's always been Alice. Now I don't think I can ever let Alice go. I feel that I'm a strong man in every way possible but Alice knows how to break me with the sweet looks and sexy body. Alice is my one true distraction and one that I know I can't loose and be without.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book after reading the varied reviews but I have to say I really enjoyed the story of Billy and Alice.
Alice is a strong independent cowgirl who hasn’t had the best luck and feels like fate is always working against her. But there is one thing in this life that she is sure of that is her ranch and nothing and no one will take away her dream. She’s been running the horse ranch with her friend Joe since the unexpected death of her parents. But now some development company is trying to force her off her land but she’s ready for the fight to keep her family’s legacy and build something better for her and her daughter.
William Hunter wants Alice’s land and everything that his business partner has tried so far has failed. So he decided that he can seduce the land from beneath her or ruin her and force her to sell to them. He doesn’t plan on falling for Alice and her daughter Amy. Can he overcome the hurt and pain he has caused the women that he loves and convince them that he loves them more than anything….? It’s a great story and we all love a hero that can redeem himself. You feel all the emotions that Alice goes through her sadness, betrayal and pain but seeing her evolve to a stronger woman. You feel the journey that Billy goes through and his shame at his actions.
One thing I have to agree on with some of the other reviews that I have read is the sex scene at the beginning with another woman was totally nothing to do with the plot and just made you dislike William a little, other than that I would recommend you give this a book a try and follow the twists and turns of Alice and Billy.
The author seduces his readers into this tangled web of a story with drama, betrayal, moments that pull your heart strings, witty dialogue, vivid picturesque scene descriptions, passionate sensuous romance leaves you breathless, and there are a few unexpected surprises. The happy ever after ending is well deserved and will definitely leave you wanting more.
William Hunter a prominent business man is desperate to buy the property of ranch owner Alice White. William's good looks have him bedding many women but his past has him keeping his heart guarded when it comes to a love commitment. Alice is an independent beauty, full of sass, and holds her own when it comes to matters of her ranch. William has a plan to buy her ranch but Alice has him falling down the rabbit hole with feelings he keeps buried as he continues to deceive her.
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with this story. I adored Alice and her tenacity. William was not a complete man until he fell into the arms of Alice, but it took a lot of proving himself to get back into her good graces. Their romance is definitely genuine and even though there were emotional ups and downs it was filled with fun times, fiery passion and much devotion. I do love how this author portrays strong women in his stories. If you treasure fantasy romance this definitely a fabulous book for your library. I loved this story so much {I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.} Without reservations, I recommend this book.
Reversed Cowgirl deserves more than five stars. The author did an amazing job writing one of the best stories I have ever read. On his behalf. The plot is very descriptive where it provides enough details as the story folds. I felt very connected to the female character. Feeling every emotion she went through. *Pain, hurt, sadness, hate, and betrayal* I also felt a connection with the male character. Feeling his guilt and shame. Alice was raised in a ranch by her two parents. Being the only child. She learns everything by her father. On how to work the ranch and manage it. And how to take care of the animals. As time transcurred she finds outs that her boyfriend Jerry cheated at her, with her best friend Lane. She ends up canceling the wedding. So anyways Alice being tough as a nail goes to pay a visit to J.J corporation that she is not going to sell her ranch. After leaving the corporation. A couple of days after a stranger drives by to her ranch looking for a job. She doesn't know this man is corporate with J.J. And his plan is to break Alice and leaving her with nothing. Between Alice and the stranger named Billy but in reality he goes by William Hunter starts falling for one another. Will his plans change or go forward. There some twists and turns. What will happen when Alice discovered who is Billy. And what he did to her. Well, she forgives him and sells her ranch to him and when Billy discovered who is Amy. I highly recommend this book. I volunteered to read an advanced copy to leave an honest review.
There are many twists and turns in this story that I never saw coming. I thought the book would take this route, I thought it would take that route…and the author took me somewhere else completely! I don’t want to write too much about it because there would be spoilers however at its basic: It is a story about Alice White, a young woman who has lost her family and is struggling to keep her ranch out of the hands of a money-grubbing developer as she feels tied to the family homestead. Chance Carter’s description of the property will blow you away, or should I say you will feel the sun on your face and the wind in your hair as you look out into the Pacific Ocean. Wear sunscreen; don’t say I didn’t warn you! And then William Hunter enters the story… These two will burn up the pages while grabbing your emotions and never letting go, not even at the end. Great story, wild ride, much of the author’s signature heat, and I couldn’t put it down. You will love the characters, smile at the characters, wanna smack them upside the head, and hurt for them at the same time. And you will dislike them, too. For me, that tells me the author does a good job, to make me care enough to have extremes in my tastes. Good read.
I got this book as a birthday present directly from the author...that alone puts him in my "favorite authors" list ;)
But it also was a sweet story...You have Alice, a strong, independent woman managing her parents horse farm; which is kind of struggling. On the other hand this big shot company that keeps pushing her to buy her land to develop condos.
One of the founders, William Hunter comes up with the idea of getting close to her to find out what makes her tick in order to find a weakness.
So he goes undercover and charms his way into Alice's life only to find what he has been missing all this time without he even knowing it. Meanwhile Alice has her own doubts whether to let go or play it safe, since she has been burned before...
Throughout the story you get to see William struggling with his actions since he realizes the kind of woman Alice is, while he wants the land for his project, he also wants to give the world to her.
I liked it when the book is written in different POVs, that way you can get a better sense of the characters.
I'll be looking forward for more books by Chance :D
OMG…..I just finished reading Reverse Cowgirl this afternoon and it was absolutely AMAZING! Chance always catches me by surprise with his stories. Just when you think you know what is going to happen, *BAM* a twist in the story pops up. Let’s start with Alice, who appears to have all the cards stacked against her. One bad thing after another happens and she begins to doubt that she will ever find true happiness. However, even through all the adversity, she remains strong and determined to make her dreams come true. Then you have Billy, who is a sexy, good looking man who comes into her life in order to take those dreams away for selfish reasons. However, as much as Billy tries, he cannot ignore the undeniable chemistry between him and Alice. There are several very sexy and hot love scenes to look forward to. Chance Carter just continues to get better with each story he writes. This is a definite MUST READ!! You will not be disappointed.
Chance never fails to deliver with his books! This starts off with Alice, remembering how badly she was betrayed by her fiancé and her best friend, then you find out she has lost both her parents tragically. The ranch she lives on means far more to her than anyone will know. But property developers are desperate for her to sell!
Cue Billy arriving at the ranch, and literally being her knight in shining armour from the get go. The story centres around Alice and Billy getting to know each other, with Billy learning the ropes, so to speak, a round the ranch and turning into the perfect ranch hand. Little does Alice know what his motives really are! I shouted at my kindle many times through this book with the story progressing as it does, but Chance always gives the story a twist or three lol
I'm not going to give away any spoilers so if you wanna know what happens to Alice, Billy and Joe (The long-time ranch hand that has been with Alice since before her parents passed)... you better just go 1-click! 5 stars aren't enough!
Great story. Alice is a 29, single, smart, kind hearted but no pushover. She is a third generation rancher, and loves what she does. William Hunter is a self made man, and his one of the founders of a very successful real estate firm. He and his business partner have been buying up property along the coast, with plans for a hi end vacation home development. Alice stands in their way. When high dollar offers, buying of her hands and thinly vailed threats have failed to sway her, William comes up with a new plan. William, now Billy, gets a job as a ranch hand on Alice's ranch,. Hoping to seduce her and find a weakness to exploit that will force her to sell. He didn't count on falling for her. He's in to deep, all he can do now is complete the plan. Loved Billy and Alice.'s story. A light, steamy and easy read. There additional books were included. Fire and Ice, Wet, and Lumberjacked. If you are new to Chance's books these books will give you a great place to start.
I had trouble landing on a rating for this one. On one hand it was smoothly written (maybe too smoothly. I missed the slightly rougher tone from previous books by Chance Carter), on the other hand I had a LOT of trouble with really getting into the book due to Billy's deception. That went on so much longer than I anticipated and even though it is a work of fiction it made me angry and uncomfortable. I suppose that illustrates the author's way with story weaving, but mostly the book made me anxious.
Sheesh, nothing went right or came easy for poor Alice, no matter how hard I rooted for her. She starts out as a tough but fair, take no crap sorta woman that I immediately loved and then sort of devolved into a naive and stupidly trusting girl who suddenly lacks her previous smarts. I didnt like that. It has a 'happily ever after' which shows Alice is a better person than I ever will be. No way I could have forgiven a betrayal such as Billy's.
I also felt that more dialogue between characters would have been nice.
Tragedy, followed by a miracle seems to be the trend in this ranch romance with a city slicker twist. Hot HOT scenes as the bonds form between the ranch owner and her new ranch hand. And now a bit about the story...
Alice is running her parents ranch on her own after the tragic car accident that claimed both of her parents. The ranch was originally bought by her grandfather who raised sheep and horses. Now it was a horse breeding and training ranch, but Alice had ideas. She wanted it to be a luxury equestrian facility complete with little cabins. William, aka Billy, had bought the land up on both sides of her. He has ideas too. He could see luxury condos bringing him in even more millions!! Unfortunately she wouldn't sell and only her property had access to the ocean. Now the only question was who was going to build the rooms with a view...
Favorite passage: “Amy said the cutest thing to me today when we were walking back from the playground,” he said softly ... “She asked me if I knew how many testicles an octopus had.”
As usual, Chance Carter has written another great book! Now I have to honest here... I love cowboys but I was curious how a man from Ireland could write about one. I shouldn't have worried about it. He did an amazing job. <3
It isn't very often that a book gets me quite as emotional as this one did. There were parts where I was just so angry, at Billy and Chance Carter... I was so ready to just stop reading because they made me so darn mad I wanted to throw my Kindle at the wall. 👿 But then you would get a peek into Billy's guilt and I would tell myself, one more chapter. And of course, I kept reading. And then... the plot twist. I honestly didn't see that coming. 😭 But as Chance Carter always does... he brought it all together for a "happily ever after" ending. This really was a good book especially when it made me so emotional.
I was given a digital ARC of this book for an honest review.
