When ex-Navy SEAL Abram Kinkaid is recruited to assassinate the Prime Minister of Canada by a rogue outfit that claims to have the United States’ best interests in mind, the demons of his past quickly return to haunt him. Caught between the past and the present, truth and lies, death or life, Abram must make a choice. Refuse and risk death; or assassinate the Prime Minister and embrace the darkness within.
The veil between reality and fantasy quickly blurs as Abram is thrust into a world of espionage and murder, where terrorists are merely mercenaries for hire. Will killing the Prime Minister set him free of his past, or only serve to enslave him further to the very corruption he’s sworn to destroy?
7/2001, Hindu Kush, Afghanistan. The 2 main targets at the entrance to the cave had been eliminated. Abram Kinkaid (Navy SEAL) got word from the other 3 men there were no other targets inside.
On the hill in the back ground a sound of diesel engines erupted. Why were there 2 Black Hawk’s in the area? The fired on the cave & then the 50-cal. From the convoy trucks fired on them. RPG’s had shot down both choppers. 6yrs. later. Washington, DC. Scott Train had an offer for Abram. He agreed without knowing the full details. Rick Sims (ex-US Army Ranger) on his 3rd. week of training met Abram. Waterboarding was next on the agenda. Morocco was Rick & Abram’s next stop. Jihir Mohammed (contact) took Abram to a place where Rick was being held captive. Amir gave Abram an ultimatum but he refused. Rick was found to be a traitor & was killed anyway. Qang Jing would teach Rick some more skills. The training had ended. Abrham was recruited to assassinate the Prime Minister Gabbot of Canada who help control/infiltrate ISIS cells. Philip an informant was killed next. Beirut Air Base, Lebanon. Abram, Amir, Scott & Sandra Conway (CIA analyst) were aboard the Gulfstream G550 aircraft headed to Ottawa, Canada. Tom Sanks is in the Queensway Carleton Hospital.
After a very thorough investigation the Royal Canadian Mounted Police had found Abram innocent of Prime Minister Gabbot assassination. There was still Scott Train to contend with.
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written international thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great international thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued? There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.
Thank you for the free author; Amazon Digital Services LLC; book Tony Parsons MSW (Washburn)
The author probably thought that writing a hard-boiled thriller was a easy thing, just put in the smart blender elements from Baldacci's John Hunter, Child's Jack Reacher and Flynn's Mitch Rapp (in this case he even plagiarized the title KILL SHOT (Mitch Rapp #2)) and magic happens... no Mr. Cameron Blake, you need much more than that, you need talent, you need to do research (the Pacific Coast of Morocco made me laugh so loud, the whole coffeehouse stared at me) and mostly you need a story and character building that grabs the reader, instead of one liner clichés.
Will not read more of the series, thankfully this one was free!
Well....where does one start ? Morocco does NOT border on the "Pacific". Why Superman ? We have Mr Kinkaid ! The author is obviously an armchair writer. Anyone who has ever suffered a fraction of the trauma Mr Kinkaid went through will tell you how the human body acts and how much it can take ! Broken(or cracked) ribs take forever to heal , not a few days and the pain is excruciating ! If you go to a hospital after an accident you don't walk around, you are wheeled around....this book should not be classed as a thriller but fantasy !!
Thought this book was miserable. Two hundred pages of screwing with someone's head to manipulate them I to doing what you want. Oh and the best part. Surprise, the story doesn't really end. If you want to sell another story, try writing a good book with a decent ending and memorable characters instead of not finishing the story so you have to buy the next one. . I hate when authors do this. It cheap and undignified.
This is a pretty good start to a series. Fairly well written and easy to read, with only a few minor mistakes. The author did some straying into personal political issues masked by making the forays the pov of the main character, but managed to limit them without ruining the story. I'll have to read a few more books in this series to make up my mind.
This was action packed and keep you on the edge of your chair from the beginning to the end! It was fast paced and Abram Kinkaid is one amazing bad ass! Well written and well edited.
I really enjoyed this book. Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way, can't wait to read the next instalment. I will definite look for more titles from this author.
Well worn plot. Former SEAL sniper now an assassin. Shadowy employer.
The author spent entirely too much of the book dealing in the thoughts of the protagonist and not enough action to keep the reader's of this genres attention. Then the death knell of many books, as far as I'm concerned, a cliff hanger ending. The author failed to make the main character compelling enough for me to want to pick up the next in the series.
