Skylar Grey lost everything when her fiancé died. But her move back to her hometown, Gage Powell might have made his debut on the professional tour a little late, but that hasn’t stopped the 24-year-old from taking the circuit by storm. He rides with a rough style that’s reminiscent of his brother, famed bull rider Marty Powell, who was killed just a few months before Gage’s 18th birthday. When Gage rides, it’s as if he’s riding for more than himself.

Sierra Montez has grown up around the rodeo and is used to the swagger of the bull riders. She thinks she’s immune to their charms until she comes face-to-face with Gage in a business meeting. She tries to keep their meeting professional, but Gage wants Sierra and he isn’t a man who ever backs down from what he wants. While Sierra finds him exciting and hard-to-resist, she wants more for herself than following a gold buckle winner around the country.

Can Gage convince her that he’s more than his reputation and that she’s the only prize he’s really after?

4.5 Understanding Who You Are Stars
* * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
We knew Gage was carrying a heavy, emotional load...but to have his book address all that he is... it was something to behold. We had a tragic figure who was wanting to be loved...to receive love and appreciated from his father...and the way he thought he had to achieve it was heartbreaking.

But I am getting ahead of myself...

This is a story of two people who need to be seen for who they are... not what they were or how others have seen them...And each person is on a collision course with those who have their doubts.

Gage has been running for a long time...
He wasn't always that way... years ago he was a brother and son... part of a family held together by a strong, loving woman who had a hard man for a husband. The first boy, Marty, was the apple of his father's eye... it seemed he doted on him and when he started riding bulls, his father was cheering every move.

Gage came along and even as a little boy, he sensed his dad just didn't want to be around him or see whatever he accomplished... like nothing was ever good enough. As the boys grew into men, the way Gage interacted with Marty changed, too...It went from hero worship to a hidden feeling of wanting to top his brother...to show his dad once and for all he was just as good... or could be better...

It was the event where Gage was to make his debut as a Bull Rider when everything went to hell...Marty rode just ahead of him and everything that could go wrong did...There are no words to describe seeing your brother killed in the ring...Everyone went to the hospital and it was there where things could get worse... with words said to Gage by his father...

Gage took those words, filed them away and traveled the country and then the world. He became one of those men who worked on oil rigs. He would still be in Scotland if he hadn't received the call from his mom, pleading with him to come home. She explained what was happening with his father... and he couldn't turn her down...

It was that fateful "reunion" which had Gage out on the AEBR tour. He was one of the oldest "rookies" they had and so far he has been totaling up the points. He is making a name for himself and working to win it all. Nothing will stop him from obtaining this goal... there is too much at stake.

Sierra Montez has her own goals with this current season of AEBR. She came up with a new campaign for Montez Jeans and she's making sure all of her ideas are translated into the photo shoots and meet and greets with the Rookies of the tour. Her problem is her father refuses to see her as the woman she is... capable, smart and not needing a babysitter from the corporate office.

These are the issues these two are juggling when they cross paths. Sierra has an older sister who has made no excuses for enjoying and hooking up with the different bull riders over the years and seasons. She knows what she likes and goes for it. Sierra is the complete opposite...not a prude at all, just knows she isn't comfortable doing one night stands.

Sierra has had her eye on Gage, though... She remembers that fateful night when Gage was supposed to ride for the first time... and how shocked and broken he looked standing by the chute... and then trying to get to his brother. She felt something then... and she is fighting the feelings she is having now.

But Damn, it is hard... with him having their jeans cupping that rear and with him standing with no shirt on...Sierra has to talk to herself and stop the drooling...

Gage doesn't look forward to these sponsor deals but it is a way to make the money he needs and also bring the fans to the events. He sees Sierra, admires who she is... how smart and in charge she is with the photo shoot. She is different... not Buckle Bunny material at all... but a man can look...

It is a perfect storm when these to cross paths after the ride. She is pissed that her dad once again set a corporate spy to watch and see how the promotion went...The One Sierra Created, no less. She told off the guy and sent him packing...

Gage is tired and drained from his ride... it went well but the response he got from his family and everything it drudged up...made him wanting to fight... to take it out on anyone so as to forget all that was going on in his head...

As both of these pissed off people leave the area, they bump into each other and start to get pissy...They then see they both need to blow off some steam and just not think about anything...

Gage suggests Sierra come with him and go honky tonkin' with him...go to a dive bar and just let loose...

Hell, Sierra decides why not... she needs to lighten up and live a little... her sister is always telling her to... so fine... She is going to let things play out and see what happens...

Well, what happens is the Earth moves for both of them...Gage is stunned... for the first time he knows this was no buckle bunny experience... this was something different and he does not know how to handle it...Sierra deserves a better man than him...

Sierra knows in her soul this was special for her... and no matter how much she self-talks and tries to push it aside...she cannot...

I loved this book. I started it and before I knew it, I was halfway through. That's how fast it read. Gage was so broken... and so willing to try to make things good for his family. When he talked about losing himself, my heart broke for him. His attraction to Sierra was real and he saw the woman she was... she was not a plaything to him at all. Sierra was strong but at the same time victim of the regular insecurities, women have had for the ages. When both of them committed to each other, it was everything I wanted.

This may be the last in the series...and if so...it makes me a little bit sad. I have enjoyed all of these books. Each brought something different to the table. I learned how these riders risk their lives every time they go out there. I learned how they prepare their ropes, the way they grip and how long 8 seconds can feel when on the back of a bull.

I have nothing but respect for the men and women who participate in the sport and its all due to the detailed and authentic writings of the authors who participated in this series... So thank you to all of them.

This is the eight and final book in this series, though I suspect it would still read well even if you haven’t read any of the earlier stories in the series. I've actually thoroughly enjoyed the other books in the series and recommend checking them out. This is the story where readers discover just who wins the gold buckle and a million dollars. It is also a story of unusual motivations, touching on strained relationships between the main characters and their respective fathers, the impact of Alzheimers as well as shedding more light on the behind the scenes world of Bull riding.

In this story, Sierra Montez first saw Gage Powell when she was 16 years old. She was attracted to him then but the tragic death of his prize winning bull rider brother, Marty, whilst attempting to ride a bull at the rodeo, meant that Gage didn’t ride then, instead he left to work abroad. He’s back seven years later, to actually compete, following his dreams whilst striving to put the past behind him and to try to win the tour and to earn his ailing father’s love and praise.

Sierra is leading a special promotion for her family’s denim business, one she’s developed and running which is focussed on this tour’s rookie riders, including Gage. Her attraction to him is still there but he’s out to prove he can win the tour and she’s trying to keep professional to prove to her family and their company’s executives. Both Gage and Sierra seek the respect and approval of their fathers, in their own way striving to prove themselves worthy. Will their love prevent them or help them achieve their goals?

The heat between the two is boiling and there’s lots of steamy action but there are also other issues that will test the two, putting obstacles in their path towards their HEA. Gage repeatedly tries to force his attraction to Sierra into the background, pushing her away as he strives to focus on his goal of winning the tour. The story is packed with angst and turmoil as their romance progresses, stalls and travels a very bumpy road. It is great to catch up on the latest news regarding characters met in earlier stories in the series and to discover who wins in the end.

I requested and was given a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.

I've really enjoyed this series. Each book in the series has focused on one bull rider and the woman he falls for. In Gage's book, he meets Sierra, one of his sponsors and it's instant attraction. Despite that attraction, Gage is focused. He's out to prove himself to his father and he doesn't need the distraction Sierra causes. Because of this, there is a lot of pushing away by Gage. Personally, I prefer the Hero to know what he wants and to go for it, so that's why this was a good read, but not my favorite out of the series. This will appeal more to readers who love the angst of the push/pull dynamic. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Gage has come back to the tour after he missed his debut when his brother was killed right before he rode. His father told him the wrong brother died. He ran away from family, the US and everything he had ever known. Now that he's back, he's not real sure why and for who he is riding. When he comes across Sierra, the daughter of his sponsor, he knows she is something different. But he's never been good at relationships. Sierra has always been responsible and yet her father thinks she is just like her mom and sister. When they collide their worlds explode in a way they never thought they ever could.

Mmmmm... a bit of my catnip in this one: both Gage and Sierra have family issues and feel unloved. It's a natural fit that they'd get together. But the push-pull on Gage's part drove me insane after a while.

By the end, I was tired of Gage constantly pushing Sierra away at the times he needed her most and she so needed to make him grovel a bit more than she did. Their respective fathers needed 2x4s taken to their heads, but par for the course in a lot of ways.

There was a lot of angst in this book and half the wounds were self-inflicted too. Of course, I like a lot of angst so, for the most part, I was lapping it up. Overall, a good book, even if it was too neatly tied up in a bow at the end.

Gage by Katherine Garbera
American Extreme Bull Riders Tour #8

In this, the final book of the series, we find out who wins the gold buckle and million dollars. It was definitely fun reading each of the books, learning more about bull riding and meeting some new authors in the process.

Gage has returned to the AEBR tour after seven years away. His mission is to ride and win while proving to his father that he is just as good as his brother was. Sierra, daughter of a wealthy jeans maker and AEBR Tour sponsor, is on the job when she meets Gabe. Sierra has had a bit of a crush on Gage for years but face to face finds him even more than she expected. The two have instant chemistry BUT Gage is all about winning. Is their relationship a help or a hindrance to his winning? Will they be able to open up and be honest with one another? Will they both be able to prove to themselves they are worthy with or without their fathers seeing it is so?

Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review. I found the book entertaining but not feel quite as invested in the H/h as I did in some of the other books of the series.

Katherine writes real cowboy stories. She must really do a lot of research, especially as she lives in the UK! Gage grew up with a father who drove him down. It was worse when his brother Marty, died riding bulls! Gage moved from home and worked other jobs, but decided to come ride bulls for his brother. He meets Sierra as she works with the rookies. She has fallen for him and he looks at her. Gage is at the top of the points. He is riding with Kane and who will ride as the top Rider. As the end comes Gage wants to drop Sierra. She goes home. This is a quick book to read. Katherine wrote about the real life bull riding. I like the bull riding. I read as I follow the rider for real. There are a few twists at the end of this story. You will have to read to the end to see how it ends. I hope you enjoy your reading! I volunteered to read and review this book.

Legacy guides him, determination drives him and love will lead him home. Gage has bull riding in his blood and iron in his veins. His journey began in tragedy, but has taken him to new heights of success. Hard work has paid off, but the wound of losing his brother is still a ghost that haunts him. Sierra is one hot tamale. She handles the male dominated rodeo circuit like a pro. Her sassy mouth highlights how strong she really is. Her heart proves to be her most valuable asset, until she crosses paths with her greatest weakness. Katherine Garbera sizzles as she sets fire to an attraction that is as sensitive as it is steamy.

As the final story of the American Extreme Bull Riders Tour brings this season to a close I have to admit that I’m going to miss these hot, stubborn and brave cowboys, and the background people who let them do their jobs safely. We’ll get to see who takes home that coveted final prize, and meet up with some old friends along the way.

Gage is driven to win. As the “oldest rookie” he’s facing some tough challenges, but none can match the ones he’s already faced. With his eye on that final prize he hadn’t figured on meeting that special lady who could change his life. Sure, he’d watched with amusement as one by one his friends and competitors fell to the happy ending with their woman, but he didn’t figure that was his future… right up until he looked into her eyes.

Sierra knows Gage’s background for she was there that fateful day that should have been his entry into this world shared by his brother… only to lose Marty in the ring. She wasn’t really surprised to see him return after so many years, but she was impressed that he’d come so far in his first season. She knew the reputation of the riders and had no interest in being a buckle bunny, that was her sister’s game. But there was more to this man than meets the eye and after one blow off steam night Sierra is facing a challenge of her own. And his name is Gage.

At times Gage is an emotional roller coaster. Both Gage and Sierra have family issues that they have to deal with, get over and past in order to find a future together. Gage is a driven man, and he will push Sierra away as often as he needs to pull her in close. The phrase “rocky romance” defines these two people. In truth, they each have a lot of personal history with their families to deal with, much of it heartbreaking. At some point they have to make the choice to live for themselves and let the family chips fall where they may. I liked Gage and Sierra, they did have a lot of angst in their romance, but they also had a lot of heart as well. Love isn’t always easy, but it’s worth every single risk.

I’ve learned a lot from this series, met some amazing characters and gained a new heartfelt respect for the real life people who put their lives ion the line sitting on the back of an angry bull for that 8 second ride. I’m going to miss this series, and hope we get to follow along on anther tour in the future.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

I've thoroughly enjoyed this series so far, but Gage's story has been my least favorite. The characters lacked depth and personalities...their dialogues seemed forced and not natural. The bull riders until now were larger than life, and even though their focus was chasing and winning that elusive gold buckle, they could also focus on what else was more important to them, the people they loved and who loved them back in return.

Gage appeared to have no backbone, to stand up to his father, or to treat the woman he supposedly loved with any respect. He acted more like a boy instead of a man. I felt for Sierra, having her love for Gage pushed back at her at every turn...yet she kept coming back for more of Gage's hot and cold emotions.

I was disappointed that there was no bull riding to add the element of thrill and drama the story needed...especially if Gage comes out winning that buckle, his ride to do so would have added the dimension the story lacked. The ending was tied up much too quickly and neatly...after all the pushing away that Gage does to Sierra, just because he comes out on top and his father finally accepts him, he now wants Sierra in his life and she falls neatly into his arms and they agree to marriage??? There was no romance involved, just matter of fact statements, "I'm thinking about marrying you." and then, "I'm thinking about marrying you too." I just couldn't feel the connection between Gage and Sierra. There was no believability at all in their HEA ending.

I truly hate trashing a story, I recognize and appreciate the effort an author puts into his/her work, in this instance, the same level of writing in the previous stories was not seen here. I'm sorry to only be able to give three stars.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Gage Powell has decided to come back to bull riding after years of working on off shore oil drilling in the Atlantic, in Scotland. He left after his older brother was killed ridding a bull years ago and his father said some very unpleasant things to him in the hospital. Now his dad is dealing with Alzheimer’s, and his mom asked him to come home. He must figure out who he is riding for him or his father. Sierra Montez has grown up around the rodeo and is now part of the marketing of her families Jean company and has come up with a plan with the new riders for the year. One of the ones she is dealing with is 24 year old rookie Gage, who she remembered watching six years ago when his older brother was killed and Gage was just 18. Like everyone else she has been wondering what he has been doing because part of her promotion is having the rookies taking pictures with their shirts off and she is blown away by his appearance. Later when she does something out of character for her she does not know if she should feel bad or not because of the way he treats her. That is when her father decides to put them together and they end up spending time together at his parent’s ranch and she begins to see the problems he is having. As much as she wants to be with him, he must deal with his issues with his father before they can even think they could have a chance at a future together. Both of the lead characters have issues with their fathers and both must work through them in order to have a future. Overall a good book not my favorite of the ones that I have read so far, but still a good book. I got this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 3 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

I truly enjoyed Gage by Katherine Garbera, the eighth and final book in the American Extreme Bull Riders Tour. Gage Powell returned to bull riding and made his debut later than most at age 24, after losing his brother to the sport six years prior. He is taking the circuit by storm as he tries to prove that he is as good as his brother and for his father’s respect. Sierra Montez grew up around the rodeo but believes she is immune to the bull riders, at least until she meets Gage. She finds him exciting and quite difficult to resist, but she does not want to be a buckle bunny. Like Gage, Sierra feels the need to prove to her father she is more than her sister and deserves to be taken seriously. Gage wants to convince Sierra that he is more than just a stereotypical bull rider, that he wants her in his life. After years of messing up relationships, Gage wonders if he can be the man Sierra deserves. This quote from the end of the book best describes his feelings. “Not afraid to let her know how much he wanted and needed her because he’d finally found something he hadn’t known he’s been searching for. He’s finally found a woman to come home to.”

I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. Ms. Garbera drew me in and did not let go until I read the last page. I definitely recommend this book to other readers.

This was a pleasant entry into the American Extreme Bull-Riding series with each book being written by a different author.

This version involves Gage Powell who is seeking some sort of personal redemption by joining the tour seven years after his older brother was killed while riding a bull. His father had always preferred his older brother and lashed out at Gage after his brother’s death. He left home and bull riding and spent the interim working on oil rigs. Now he’s entered the tour as a rookie where he encounters Sierra Montez who works for her family’s jeans business. Trying to prove herself to her father and uncles who run the company, she came up with a promotion featuring the rookie bull riders.

Gage and Sierra meet and the sparks fly. They hook up but both wonder if it could be something more. Gage feels unworthy and knows he doesn’t have a history of making relationships last.

Little in the book is a surprise and things work out about as you might expect, but it was still an enjoyable quick read.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

GAGE is another fabulous story of the men and women who choose to make a living by competing in and promoting this extreme sport. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the individuals who participate in this sport, seeking the ultimate prize by putting their health and safety on the line, to entertain the masses.

I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every story in this series, with each book focusing on one bull rider and the woman who eventually captures his heart. This amazing array of authors have each put their personal touch on the creative detail of the story told and provided readers with authentic world building and engaging characters too.

As this may be the last in the series, I’m a little sad to see the series end, but I’m sure these wonderful authors will bring something new and exciting to the table in the near future. So if you haven’t yet enjoyed their rough and ready Cowboys, I suggest you start at the beginning to introduce yourselves to the men and women of the American Extreme Bull Riders Tour .

Thank you to ALL the talented authors who have given us an many a thrilling ride!

This is another great story from the American Extreme Bull Riders series, one I zipped through because I couldn't put it down. Book eight in the series, Gage works equally well as a stand-alone story.
Gage is a complicated character facing some pretty gaping wounds from his past, the most significant one being the inferiority complex he has developed courtesy of his father comparing him unfavourably with his brother when he was growing up. His only plan for the future is to win the gold buckle and leave the country. Sienna is quite different. She too has issues with her father, who heads the family company she works for, but her approach is to carefully plan everything and pay attention to detail.
These two certainly have chemistry and it shows, though there's plenty of push in the relationship too. The plot engaged me from the start and the pacing kept me turning the pages. All in all this was a great afternoon read.

Gage is the last book of the series of Bull riders. So this one is quite different for me all the others were about this sport and had described the process of riding/competing. This book had none of that, it was focused on different things about this sport. In this one, we meet Gage who is back in riding-circle and wants to honor his brother. Sierra has alway had hots for Gage and when he is back she just can look away from that fine looking cowboy and his hot body. Lucky for her the attraction is mutual and when one night brings to many bad memories Sierra and Gage find each other. Their relationship is complicated, at first there are secrets and some hard word exchanged. In the end, it all turns out good for both. The characters are ok, good developed, likable. Although the book is not my favorite of the series; the story has its weight and is ok written and was enjoyable to read.

I would define Gage as racy and steamy with all kinds of “Hot Damn!” within the story of two people both hurt by their fathers. For Gage, it’s a father who worshipped Gage’s long dead rodeo protégé brother-perfect in every way leaving Gage to feel less than perfect his entire life. For Sienna, it’s a father who does not recognize the creative and talented woman she’s become preferring to view her as a little girl or still a teenager. No matter how much she succeeds in the family jeans business, he does not see her potential.
Gage and Sienna find solace in each other but their own life paths tear them apart. Wanting and needing each other cannot take precedence over their aims and desires for life. But, there is that constant pull that continues to draw them closer and closer, trying against all odds to win.

Gage is book eight in the American Extreme Bull Riders Tour series and can be read as a standalone.

Living in his brothers shadow was always hard for Gage, and the night he was supposed to debut in the bull riding circuit is the day his brother died. Right before his eyes. Running from the pain, he traveled until his mother begged for him to return.

Sierra isn't affected by the bull riders and their charming ways. Or at least she didn't think she was until she ran into Gage. They each had a chip on their shoulder and needed a way to get rid of it. No matter how earth shattering it is, the doubts remain. Is this just be a good way to blow off steam? Or will they be able to help each other find what the other one needs? I really enjoyed this story. I highly recommend it!

I usually like Katherine Garbera's stories, but this one was mediocre for me. It felt as if she wasn't as invested in developing her characters, their growth or even the sexy times in this one. Admittedly, this is 8th in a series and I've never tried to read any of the previous ones. I'm sure all the books of this series are meant to read as a stand-alone, but by #8, it may be difficult to maintain the magic and success of its earlier siblings. Possibly this series has had its last rodeo and needs to be put out to pasture. I wish I knew how to quit Garbera or Tule Publishing via NetGalley, but I keep expecting good things from this combination.

This was a great conclusion to the American Extreme Bull Riders series.
Gage and Sierra are both great characters. They are both trying to prove something to their fathers. Gage is trying to get out from his dead brother's shadow, and Sierra is trying to be taken seriously at her father's company.
I loved the chemistry between these two, and how they helped each other through their struggles without really helping (if that makes any sense). Just by being themselves they were able to help the other work through the things that were making them feel trapped.
I didn't want to put this book down. I really connected with the characters.

I was captivated from the first page. Sorry, but my mom is just as awful. So the H had my support from the very beginning LOL. He was the gorgeous sculpted alpha male bull rider. The h was a business woman who was also the sister to a notorious buckle bunny.

The first time the h saw the H was on TV when she was 16 and watching the rodeo event where his brother died. She had been quasi in love with him ever since. It was a nice book.

I liked Gage ok. I would definitely say this isn't the strongest book in the series but it was still an entertaining read. I recommend reading any of the books in the AEBRT series.

I found the relationship between Gage and Sierra a little bit off. I liked both characters but I never really felt any burning connection between the two. For me, there was never a point that I felt that they belonged together above all others, however, I did enjoy the book.

I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance.

Gage (American Extreme Bull Riders Tour Book 8) by Katherine Garbera
This is Gage Powell and Sierra Montez's story.

Another great bull rider story. Gage is another stubborn hard headed bull rider. It must go with the territory. There is just something about Gage that you just feel for him. With the loss of his brother and his difficult relationship with his father Gage is going through some tough times. Then he meets Sierra. One thing for sure the chemistry is really hot between these two.

FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This was such a wonderful , emotional book about a bull rider living in the shadow of his brothers death & about possibly finding love if he can decide exactly what he wants out of life & just go for it . I'll also comment that Katherine , once again , gives us family & friends with this as well
As an amazing hot sexy hero that has explosive chemistry with our heroine that makes this read of hers one of THE MOST sizzling little pieces she's written lately! Adored this one !

This book is a great addition to AEBR series. I have loved all the books in this series. In this book it will break your heart with Gage's story. The writing by the author was outstanding how she connects you to the characters. Definitely one that is worth reading.

Gage lost his brother when he was killed Bull riding and he left the sport that day but now she's back and scoring high. And then he meets Sierra.
Their on again off again romance is sweet and steamy, but does it have what it takes to turn into a real love to last a life time?
Enjoyable read, that I recommend, its short but what a story in contains.

Gage is the final book in the bull rider series. Katherine Garbera captures the intense competition of professional bull riding and touches on ALZ and the impact it has on family members. This was a good ending to a great series. I recommend reading the entire series to fully appreciate the life of bullriders on tour.

The last book in the AEBR series. This story was pretty good - not great but I liked it. The interesting concept to me with this series was that each book was written by a different author but using the same base topic - bull riders. I definitely enjoyed each book - but some more than others - but each was worth reading.

Gage Powell walked away from his bull riding debut after seeing his brother killed. Years later he is back to win it all with his past haunting him. Sierra Montez is trying to prove herself at the family business with a sponsorship campaign for the rookie bull riders. When sparks start flying can they continue working together?
I loved this story, especially how real Gage's character is.
