Gabby continues to really make this book. Laura can be REALLY serious so it's good for her to have a little sister to lighten her mood. I loved that Deadpool and Gabby are kindred spirits. They were a constant delight together. I'm digging the new costumes.

Laura looks much better in the X-Force suit and I really enjoyed how hokey looking Gabby's costume is. It's definitely what I'd expect a young girl to design. The only thing it's missing is sparkles.

Taylor did a good job with the Guardians as well. I loved his version of Groot and Rocket. Plus, the best use of the Brood since Chris Claremont.

Leonard Kirk's art was a step up from the last volume. Although, the rookie inkers gave Laura an old woman makeover in a few panels.

"I'm going somewhere I might be able to do some good." - Laura "All-New Wolverine" Kinney

I started the All-New Wolverine title about two months ago and so far it's been a consistently good series. Even though Volume 3: Enemy of the State II dragged a little it still improved by the finale.

Who would've guessed it, but Volume 4: Immune outshines the three previous books, and alongside The Vision, Vol. 1: Little Worse Than a Man it is the best of the almost 20 graphic novels I've read thus far in 2019. The writing, the artwork, the handling of a large cast of characters -- everything was done just right. Laura "All-New Wolverine" Kinney's assistance is found to be mandatory when a strange alien virus arrives on Earth and causes a deadly outbreak. A section of New York City is placed in quarantine, so she and other similarly-powered healing-factor heroes (including a great supporting turn by Deadpool) have to race against time and literally provide a 'hands-on' cure.

And that's only half the story. The source of the virus is tracked to an unexplored moon called Rhittle, so Wolverine and special guest stars Guardians of the Galaxy ("Seeing as you can't travel light-years by yourself, we've called in some help" Nick Fury dryly explains to Wolverine) launch into deep space to investigate. In all this was a perfectly-paced and contained sci-fi / horror story that hits the marks for action, drama, and suspense along with, surprisingly, even some emotional moments.

I absolutely loved this volume. I really liked the resolution to the infection on Earth and it just got even more fun when we followed its trail back into space with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Gabby and Deadpool's relationship was hilarious and I really hope it's not forgotten about in the future. Also, Jonathan got several degrees more awesome at the conclusion of this tale.

Oh, and I liked Leonard Kirk's artwork on this volume much more than that of the artists from the previous two volumes.

All in all, this was a great slice of SNIKTy goodness. 4 claws up!

All-New Wolverine is hands down the best wolverine series I've read (Not that I read THAT much wolverine but damn this is good).

So a little alien girl crash lands on earth. Right when Ironheart finds her the virus inside her spreads, and everyone around her begins to get sick. Right before she dies she has the name of Laura on her lips, and Wolverine is scooped up to try and find out what happened. When she gets to the infected island she realizes the situation may be worse than she thought. When the greatest minds around the world figure out how to fix it, will it be in enough time? Oh yeah, that's just the first half. Second half is into space with the guardians of the galaxy!

Good: The character development for Laura is outstanding. Especially from reading her X-Force stories and X-men stories, it's wonderful to see her grow into her own person. I also love the side cast, especially Gabby. The first half of the story feels like actual stakes are there and the solution is actually pretty great and touching moment. I loved the hell out of the guardians and wolverine reaction and Gabby and Johnathan the Wolverine joining the story in space is wonderful.

Bad: I didn't love the art at times. Made people look really odd. I also thought the 2nd half of the story in space was really fun but also really rushed. Another issue probably balance that.

Again, All-New Wolverine proves to be a fantastic series. It's no wonder it went over 30+ issues. To me, Laura is the best Wolverine ever. A 4 out of 5.

All-New Wolverine has been consistently cranking out good comics. I love Tom Taylor's writing, Laura & Gabby, and the storytelling has been well done so far per volume (:each little story contained to 4-5 issues has been great, while still keeping true to the overarching story of Laura as Wolverine).

"--We're not doing the claws today."

This story Immune was especially well done after All-New Wolverine, Volume 3: Enemy of the State II all about Laura's violent and uncontrollable murder-y past. To have this volume as a follow-up to that --a story all about Lura healing and saving everyone-- was really special for this character, and really good writing on Taylor's part.

I <3 Gabby! I can't get enough of her, and love love love how she plays off of Laura. She is so sweet, and I love the little-sister big-sister dynamics. I can't think of another comic that does this so well. (Even Batman, with his handful of adopted children... none of them play as well together.)
I also love Gabby becoming bffs with Deadpool, because duh, they're both murder-y children. It's perfect. (Also, how Gabby told Deadpool he shouldn't worry about his scars... <3)

Though there was a lot of teaming up this volume (Ironheart, (all the smart scientist superheroes), Captain Marvel for a sec, All the Wolverines, Deadpool, Agent Fury, The Guardians of the Galaxy, and Fang), this didn't feel too crowded. Taylor made sure to keep Laura (and Gabby) at the story's focus, even though it had a large cast. I found that to be very impressive.

Groot and Jonathan are adorable; and the last page with Rocket taking out the trash was a little wow-ing. It felt like it needed to be done, but Laura couldn't do it... so Rocket did. And that took care of that.

I liked the first three volumes of Taylor's Wolverine series, but the fourth one was a disappointment, unfortunately. A story about some unknown disease from outer space had little to do with Wolverine and felt like a two-issue filler that got stretched out to fill six. It also doesn't help that Immune features some of the worst-looking artwork in the series to date. Aside from a few sweet moments of friendship between Gabby and Deadpool (of all people), this volume was entirely forgettable and inconsequential.

Flawed but needed.

World: The art is fine, I think this arc lacked details in the art, especially the space issues but overall the art was fine, not the best like Lopez but still good. The world building was good, not a lot of world building but rather just widening and cameos and team ups that make Laura and Gabby feel part of the larger MU. It's good to see them interacting with others it's fun.

Story: We needed this story, Laura needed this story. Wolverine has always been about kill kill kill and slash slash slash but Taylor was able to give readers a story about life and love. Following what just happened with Kimura this was a great choice, parts of it were very moving. That being said the arc was not without its flaws, the logic behind the story barely escapes and the pacing could be a bit tighter. Then we have the space adventure which was kinda meh but at the same time very fun. Taylor once again hits the emotion buttons with the Laura/Gabby hearts and I love it. This series is good because of them.

Characters: It was good for Laura to save this arc, it really allows the character to grow and also gives Gabby a chance to grow with her. The cameos this time around was great and the Guardians...when did they become exactly the movie ones?!

Fun, flawed but needed.

Onward to the next book!

This was so good and the character development that Laura gets here is incredible and also the heroic moments too!

The premise is simple really like an alien girl lands on a spot and brings a virus with her which is infecting people and the usual contamination and segregation and she takes the name of Laura last and so we see Laura come in to stop the virus and protect the people there and there we have so many characters from MU involved and its awesome to see how they resolve that and the heroic moment that Laura gets is awesome and I loved every moment of it!

Then they go to space and a team-up with GOTG to find the source of it all and its dramas and weaponeer scientists and broods and a take over of the supporting character and what the hero does to stop them and the way Taylor writes Laura here is wonderful and awesome and just continues evolving her to being the beacon of hope she is sort of becoming and its awesome. I love the interactions between Rocket and Laura and also between Jon and Gabby and its cute and fun and yeah very light hearted in a good way.

Its one of those stories the premise of which is depressing but by the end of it you're smiling because of the positive intent of the story and yeah just cheers all around! :)

Tom Taylor's All-New Wolverine continues to be one of the best superhero comics around. That's largely about the characters: they're vivid and bright and interesting and funny. Gabby especially continues to be a delightful addition to the cast.

These issues also do a great job of integrating Laura into the larger Marvel universe, with three issues guest-starring Ironheart, then three issues guest-starring the Guardians of the Galaxy. The Guardians appearance was particularly notable because it's so much better than the recent Bendis run. Taylor gets them, whereas Bendis just gave us one-dimensional stereotypes.

Finally, we get one of the best uses of the brood since when Claremont was writing about them way back in the '80s.

Fun with the Wolverines (Laura, Gabby and Jonathan), Deadpool, Daken, old man Logan and the Guardians of the Galaxy! Damn, so many cameos, but they are all so much fun and they just work. As opposed to the big majority of titles, Tom Taylor just knows how to write the perfect line and make the most of every character.
Issue #21 was amazing, 5 stars and the highlight of this volume. Taylor always gets to me. I just love the way he develops relationships, especially between family. Those emotional little scenes in between the whole superhero extravaganza are my favorite moments.
Also, Wade and Gabby being best friends? Perfection.
This title is always so much fun to read, so it's a bummer I only have two volumes left. Gonna miss this little family.

The first half, with Laura and Gabby facing off against a pandemic virus that has landed on Earth (on Roosevelt Island of all places!) that only mutants with a particular set of abilities () can hope to defeat in a race against time, was stellar. I didn't even mind the presence of Daken, and for me that's saying a lot!

The second half, guest starring the MCU-inspired Guardians of the Galaxy, was OK but not as memorable.

Oh and kudos to Gabby for suggesting the bulletproof costume upgrade. Just cos you heal real good doesn't mean getting all shot up don't hurt, right?

A little bit of a let down as compared to the previous Volumes. It was probably needed to explore Laura's dedication to the good side. I didnt feel like it needed 6 issues to provide the story. Solid action, alot more story in space eith the Guardians. The artwork seemed to be a little more simple as compared to earlier volumes. Will wait for Vol 5

This is the first volume of Taylor's Wolverine that hasn't hit it out of the park.

The art is garbage. The stakes are weightless. The Guardians and the Brood have no reason to be here. That Taylor had a six issue run to do whatever he pleased-- without editorial mandates or crossover interruption-- and chose to do this with it is practically criminal.

I really enjoyed this compilation of issues #19-24 of All-New Wolverine, starring Laura Kinney, her little sister Gabby, and a host of guest appearances from The Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool, and many, many others. Laura was a little too serious at times, and was perfectly offset by Gabby bonding with Deadpool, grokking Groot, and generally just bringing a breath of fresh air to every situation. Rocket and Jonathan hitting it off was fun, too. The first half of the book is the story of a pandemic, and people behaving poorly in such a situation feels truly prophetic here a couple of years down the road. As almost always, they should have included a page at the front to set the scene and explain the characters and the situation, but I guess they're afraid people might not be so motivated to go back and read fifty others books if they understand everything that's going on and all of the motivations. The art is colorful and action-packed, too. It's a splended, well written book.

Just plain fun. Not stupid fun. Well-meaning fun.

And Laura and Gabby are just two heroes trying to do the right thing. No gender politics to muddy the waters (sorry incels, any triggering is in your own radicalised minds). Just two women showing us how it’s done.

Fantastic Prose Papers Over Lackluster Art and Story
OVERALL RATING: 3 stars
Art: 3 stars
Prose: 3.75 stars
Plot: 2.75 stars
Pacing: 3.5 stars
Character Development: 3.5 stars
World Building: 3 stars

Taylor's strongest prose yet in the series. Shame about most of everything else... Kirk draws Rocket Racoon miserably and his art seemed rushed after the first issue. Plot was meh. Character development seems great but really it is just that Taylor understands the characters he writes naturally and he delivers great scenes for fan service. However, the character development is really shallow for the 'others' he just has to introduce. It was grating but wow he has taken and learned a bunch from Rememnder's take on Deadpool. He should get a run with that maniac as he'd do a great job. Used Wade Wilson magnificently to bring Gabbie into the more likable fold. Kudos to that. But the story we've seen before in a variety of forms...

3,5*

After an alien ship crashed on earth a virus is spreading. A virus to which Laura is immune and that'll lead her far far away...

I initially thought I was going to rate this book a half-hearted 2,5* at best. Deadpool, the Guardians of the Galaxy, an intergalactic space travel: 3 things I dislike almost equally.

But, hey, wait! All 3 were actually not so bad. The Deadpool/Gaby interactions were funny and the Guardians and the space travel had an actual purpose.

If I can't say Tom Taylor blows me away with each volume I'll say he usually writes good and solid stuff, just like Dan Slott in my opinion. Never amazing but well paced and entertaining with excellent lead characters. This level of achievement is comendable enough.

Leonard Kirk is on the drawing board. I don't think I knew his work before and I'm agreably surprised. Slick line, decent storytelling, some good poses and facial expressions, all good stuff.

I finally ran across a volume of All-New Wolverine that I didn't like. In this volume, Laura fights a virus from space. The thing that bothered me was the way that the virus worked. So this virus comes from space and infects everyone it comes in contact with. Fortunately, those with healing powers can actually kill it. This is where it gets really weird. Laura can cure people just by touching their skin. The way it is explained is that the virus is drawn to healers and totally leaves the body of the non-healer. Also, this somehow inoculates the non-healers even though nothing was injected into their bodies. I'm not sure biology works that way. Anyway, this virus is a plot point throughout this volume, so I couldn't take anything in this book seriously. I'm hoping that we can get a real villain in the next volume rather than a space virus.

The first half of this book deals with an alien being that crash lands on Earth, bringing with it a virus. The efforts that are taken to contain the virus are a little ridiculous, but that sets up the situation for Laura to go in and show why she (and her family) a real heroes. Again, less than average art lessens the impact of the story.

The second half of the book takes Laura and her family out into space to see just where the virus came from. The Guardians of the Galaxy guest star. Once again, Gabby shines with her humor and this part of the story really shows how/why she is unique in her own right.

This was an interesting volume and the friendship between Gabby and Deadpool made it so much more fun. They were hilarious together. Laura was as great as ever, but the only reason it’s getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because I just was not a fan of the Horde plot-line.

Laura becomes more and more interesting in her own right--at least to me. I never really gave her much of a shot before this "All-New" series. I'm enjoying it though, and I like the dynamic Gabby brings to the book.

The Guardians of the Galaxy guest star here as Laura spends the second half of the volume in space. There was an attempt--it never quite worked for me--to make Logan over as the apparently hardened warrior with the soft center. Not gooey ever, thank goodness, but soft. I never bought it. It's like the moments where various creators have made a point of emphasizing the soldier at the core of Captain America--a core practicality, coldness et. that comes with a role wedded to violence and necessary death. Wolverine, the damaged Samurai was a balance that worked.

Where Laura is legitimately her own is that beneath her Wolverine there's a gentleness that was never part of Logan. At least, not when he worked for me. Laura as savior here, functioning as an understated Christ figure by going meekly to take the disease (re: sins) of the people upon her so that they can live, well that's just something that Logan never did in quite the same way. It's a distinction I like. What's important for this character to work isn't what she has in common with Logan, that's the bait. The depth of difference under those surface elements, that what allows for enough variation to keep her from being a slimmer Logan with boobs. I haven't bought all the re-creations of classic characters Marvel's been shipping out recently. But the ones that work, are those that have just enough in common with their predecessor to catch the eye and whose differences are way more than just skin deep. Laura's definitely one of those.

First up, Laura and Gabby battle a virus from outer space that threatens Roosevelt Island, before jetting off into space with the Guardians Of The Galaxy to battle the Brood.

This is one big six issue story, but split into two distinct halves; the first half shows how dedicated Laura is to being one of the good guys, and how much she's willing to sacrifice for that. She's such a great character under Taylor's pen, with Gabby as a very funny counterpoint too. I also really like how Taylor uses other X-characters to support her, with Deadpool being oddly amazing and Laura and Daken's relationship continues to develop nicely.

Also a big fan of her new bulletproof costume, because it makes total sense. Just because you can get shot, doesn't mean you enjoy it.

Once the action moves into space, things get a bit hairier as the linchpin of the story revolves around a character from Wolverines that I've never seen before, but it works pretty well regardless, and has some interesting moral quandaries for Laura to grapple with near the end too. Plus there's a scene with Jonathan the Wolverine that made me tear up, so that's always a good sign.

The only real problem I have with this volume is the artwork. All six issues are penciled by the usually reliable Leonard Kirk, but they're kind of all over the place. I'm not sure if it's because of the army of inkers and colourists or if Kirk's pencils are rushed, but it's a bit of a step down from the past eighteen issues.

Another stellar installment of the series, let down a bit by the art.

Tom Taylor's All New Wolverine series remains a solid run and actually bounces back a bit from the rushed and rather disappointing third volume. This book is basically broken into two arcs. The first is the best while the second is a bit of a let down and once again has that rushed feeling that made the third volume a disappointment. The book is a good return to form for the series, though I would have liked to see a different villain for the second half other than those pesky Brood.

Tom Taylor reaches a perfect blend of seriousness and humor served by great art and flowing action. An alien virus threatens earth. Her carrier called for Laura Kinney just before dying, but a Wolverine can’t punch a virus into submission, can she ? Also, Deadpool and the Guardians of the Galaxy show up. Wolverines in spaaaaace !

Taylor's Wolverine book has been pretty good! This volume has a solid script, with a unique story, which featured a pretty inventive solution. The characters were written well, and there were a lot of fun interactions I didn't see coming. The pacing was a little wonky at times, with sudden time jumps, or a less than graceful conclusion to an issue, but it was totally enjoyable and a neat change of pace from Marvel's other titles. The art was forgettable at its best, and offensive at its worst. There were some pretty bad drawings of Laura in here which really detracted from the experience.

All in all, you could do a lot worse, and if you've enjoyed Taylor's Wolvie so far, you'll probably get a kick out of this arc.

This continues to be a good series, even if this story put the character a little out of her element. In this volume, a spaceship crashes to Earth with a dying alien child on board. The child manages to utter Laura Kinney's name before passing away and then unleashing a deadly virus on Earth. The Guardians of the Galaxy show up and help Wolverine trace the virus into space, where they end up clashing with the Brood.

The art was good as always, and the story was as well. Honestly this series is better than the various Wolverine series featuring Logan published right before this series.

This series continues to roll with goodness. An alien craft comes to earth with a dying girl looking for Laura but dies. Ends up bringing a virus with her. It was cool what the did to handle the virus and who they got to help. The story kicks up a notch when the Guardians of the Galaxy show up to take Laura and Gabby to space to deliver the newly developed antidote. Loved Rockets character in this one. Hyped for the next volume.
