This is one of those books that I like enough I read it twice. YEP i am one of those folks who reads books more than once. I have this thing I do...If i like I book I lot I make a note in a book I keep and go back and re-read it later before I write a review. Especially if it is an author that is new to me. One I have heard about but have not read much from before. This was the case here. Stacey Joy Netzel was new to be when I first read her book and after I started searching out her books. She has that kind of a draw for me. Of course now that this is book 10 in a series i want to go and read books 1-9 to catch up too LOL
Funny this book almost seem like today's news. Fake news that is or maybe it is real news...who really knows anymore. Peyton and Clay are two people who could not be more wrong for each other but seem so perfect together. Peyton goes home to escape being branded a harlot and home wrecker and of course the press know she is there the moment she is there. So she has to hide out on a farm. The farm she hides out on is Clay's mom's farm.
Clay used to be married to a pop star...used to be in the key word of the day. He can not stand celebrities and now one is living at their new B & B. Not only that he is attracted to her and he doesn't like it. I loved this book and this author. She made me feel like I was right there on the farm experiencing everything first hand. That was one of the reasons I read this book again today and decided if I see this author's name...i need to one click.
Actress Peyton Riley has come home to Wisconsin to escape the hurtful media attacks calling her a home wrecker. Immediately upon her return she literally runs into Clay Westfield who is divorced from Dianna Skye, a pop singer who publicly rated him a dud as a lover. Clay is angry and frustrated as is Peyton. Their meeting is explosive as is their attraction. Can these two beat the odds and find happiness together? Peyton is a strong yet vulnerable woman. It's nice to know that she wants love just like we all do. Her battle of wills with Clay is both humorous and romantic. Clay has been battered and bruised by the paparazzi. He's retreated from life. I felt sorry for the abuse he suffered. I wanted him to take a risk I'm glad this couple got a second chance. They both deserve it. Stacey Joy Netzel wrote a wonderful story filled with love and hope for happiness. Her dialogue makes the characters come alive. The setting is perfect. It's filled with friends, family and drama. This author is a must read for me. She makes me feel happy.
Snarky, taunting, funny, and vindictive are only a few words that describe the banter and actions of Clay and Peyton. Well written that you feel the pain and struggles of these characters that you can't put the book down.
I love this series and this new addition will not disappoint you.
Clay Westfield has been hurt by his ex-wife and hounded by the paparazzi the last thing he needs is to fall for another celebrity. Peyton gets under his skin and sparks fly.
Peyton is in the middle of another scandal thanks to her recent co-star. Going back home back home and trying to stay away from the paparazzi is what she needs to do right now. Nothing works out like she planned mainly due to a hot mechanic.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Clay and Peyton's story is awesome. Two people both on the bad side of publicity from Hollywood. Both looking for a little privacy to lick their wounds. They meet in an unconventional way in a bakery. While trying to avoid any more publicity they fall in love. A sweet sexy story for a second chance. Not with each other but with their public. I really enjoy this whole series following around a town full of characters including Santa Butch who seems to always know who is going to belong to who. Hmm think he has something to do with it?
Romancing Wisconsin book 13 is another great read in this fantastic series. Clay & Peyton, both home to lick their wounds, only to find themselves in the spotlight again and Santa Butch is right there seeing it all. There's an attraction from the start but both are stubborn. Things heat up and it's interesting to see it unfold. This is my honest review for a book given to me by the author under no obligation.
Summer Scandal is the thirteenth book in the Romancing Wisconsin series. Two people that have their fair share of the spot light, and not all of it good, escape to find some peace and find themselves in the middle of another story, their love story. I really enjoyed Peyton and Clay's story. I definitely recommend this book!
Sweet and romantic, living up to the Romancing Wisconsin series. Can't wait for the next one already. Hope to see future books revisiting and updating the easier books.
I appreciate those in the spotlight a little more after this story, the 2 lead characters were spot on in my opinion, well worth a read, not so many of the other characters in this one, I missed Butch he wasn't in it much,
An interesting story about an actress and mechanic. The storyline kept me interested and there was enough adventure to keep the reader guessing as to what would happen next.
