I'd love this series even if it was for the drama of it all! Poor Melanie has been through too much. And the Rochester men keep wanting more. (This family is crazy!). Mason is on the hunt for revenge when he believes she's left him and stolen the money he's carefully hidden away in his safe. Not knowing his brother has betrayed him in much more unfathomable ways in order for him to hand over Melanie.
Damien is trying to stem the tide of their father's empire possibly crumbling around him. Finding out well bribed secrets their father kept that bring to light the true parentage of the bother he's trying to protect. Not to mention his compulsive desire to have Mason rely on him as some way to affirm that his heart isn't so black. And their wicked hoe of the west stepmother is determined to get what her late (and equally wicked) husband promised her.
And on the run from a murderous Damien and vengeful Mason, Melanie finds that all that glitters isn't gold. Nor is everyone who smiles at you your friend. She is just trying to make the best of her situation on the run. It was tough to see her go through these betrayals of trust, but she's shown that her determination to survive is strong. Slowly she's changing and is no longer the same timid woman who was willing to accept her fate.
And the relationship that she and Mason have was a complicated but has potential to flourish. But the seeds of darkness his father planted in his heart almost tore them apart. They both fit a need that the other craves in a partner. I can't wait to see what befalls them next and if they can weather the storm.

Loving this Series

This book had me so hooked that I couldn't do anything else until I was reading it again. The 2nd installation of Nowhere To Hide read just like a suspense movie. I had to shake my head at Melanie and the situations she got herself into. And Mason, I just don't know what to say. I was hating him one minute and loving him the next. I totally understood Melanie' s back and forth feeling for him. I liked Melanie and how she wised up and did what she had to do. And I liked Melanie and Carter together even more. Now Damian is just as bad as can be and I can't wait for his story and I hope Mika is in it. Damian and Mason had a very complicated relationship, but you can tell how much the brothers lived each other. I hope we get some closure in the upcoming stories. Overall, I'm loving this series and now on th o part 3.

Part 2 was definitely more suspenseful and dark, I just wish Melanie developed a backbone. No way would I have gone back to Mason. Especially with he did. At least make him sweat it out until the 3rd book lol.

I’m super curious about Damien and I hope he’s not left out of the 3rd book.

Can't do Anymore of this!!!😳😩😤

The sexual assault perped in this series is astounding, sad and disgusting😲. There is warning of violence, but not sexual assault...because that is what it is. Forced coerced sexual acts against your will with the threat of harm is sexual assault, apparently the author don't know that or plays with that dangerous line like predators do. This is the sneaky thing about perceptions and how women get blamed for "making poor choices" because she knows the person. It is all abusive and violent. The way the author tried to twist it into a love story is gross. This gives Stockholms syndrome. These men were twisted individuals that needed therapy and jail...possibly the death penalty. All of these main characters were abuse victims (a few psychopaths). Some getting away with literal abuse/murder perping/preying on weak people because they have money and the weak want money or are just trying to survive. This was gross, sad, trauma bonding, obsession and people taken advantage of/fueled by abusive pasts. Not love or loyalty, very unhealthy😭. If I could give this a negative 10 I would. Very triggering and SA is abundant in this series.

No words😱

Wow....I'm exhausted. These two books Nowhere to Run/Hide are dark. The one thing I wanted from this book was for Melanie to grow a pair. She had a "why me"? And it was getting on my last nerves...I wanted her to fight more. My heart went out to Mason and Damien half brothers who were badly emotionally damaged by there dastardly (yes I said dastardly lol) father. What a twisted fk. I loved that as brothers they loved each other so much and could forgive each other there transgressions. Some of the other characters in these books where shady and crazy as hell...especially Mika...(psycho much!?) Some of the things that happened to Melanie in these books was humiliating and disturbing...to the point where I need therapy because I was so pissed...im all about self preservation and I can't honestly say she had that vibe about her....Anyhoo...if you want to read two books with nail biting suspense, betrayal, intense sexual situations, and graphic violence...basically two books to get lost in then highly recommend Nowhere to Run and Nowhere to Hide....be forwarned occasionally you will have to put the books down just to process what you've read. Twisted...disturbing....breathtaking read! 👏👏👏

Good Good

Okay the story picks up right from the first and it is just as explosive! The writer doesn't waste time getting you back into the mix of this twisted tale. You are going to find out that there are more mysteries yet to unfold and you are going to just holler out "what" quite a few times. Now the characters, especially the main characters Mason and Melanie. These two characters have to be the dumbest I've come across in a story, especially Melanie. I just would like to know at what point does your common sense kicks in. I mean she was her own worst enemy. I don't think I liked one character in this story not one of them catches you. This is good writing, but I'm missing something and I think it's the feel of something really bad is happening. Also I thought that there were a few things in the story that weren't needed but put in for shock value. Overall this is good reading and you look forward to the next installment of the series but hopefully we are getting sparkle.

What a dysfunctional family!

Edward Rochester had no business raising anyone's children, especially his own. That man was an untreated sociopath. Melanie Pittman did society a favor when she killed him in self defense. What she did not know was that everyone associated with him was just as ruthless, including the man she fell for Mason Rochester.

M'Renee wrote a very intriguing story that was full of action, mystery and suspend with a plot twist I did not see coming. Poor Melanie just had bad luck, she wondered why people just wanted to abuse and use her. Despite all of what she had to endure to stay alive, she still had love and forgiveness in her heart. It was that same love for Mason that kept Damian from doing what he wanted to. This was a very dark story and was difficult for me to read in certain spots but I chugged through it could not stop reading. If you like dark stories this is a great story for you.

I am not sure how I feel about the conclusion of Melanie and Mason's story. I really had some issues with Mason. He's not an alpha really, but a sadistic, mean and dangerous man. When he thought Melanie stole money from him, his "revenge" was more along the lines of sexual assault and abuse. It was horrible and hard to read what he made her do to punish her and yet, we are to believe he's madly in love with her. I wasn't into that and the direction the author chose to go with that. The book did again, try to pack in a lot of outside stories with less important characters that muddled the story a bit and I felt at times, wow, can we get back to Mason and Melanie? Anyway, this was one of the few romance novels I've read where I'm pretty lukewarm about the characters being together in the end. While this book is packed with a lot of twists and action, I feel that Ms. Allen has way better stuff out there.

Wow!!!

Melanie, my heart hurts for you, girl, to forgive Mason after all he did to you ... love is truly blind . And you are right when you told him that even if it was true that you took his stuff, he was wrong to do what he did.
As for that Patrick guy, I hope he got what he deserved!!
Lot of twist and turn & POV of most of them , that was awesome.

That's was a great read, be warned if you have triggers....

I can't wait for Damien's story, that man is in a category of his own. And what Chelsi,Mika & Dana did , Damien is not a forgiven guy... & MS "Greedy" will never play possum . 😜
I love the way Damien protectiveness towards his little brother & what he did to protect him . 👍👍

TWIST AND TURNS all over the place. The hunt for Melanie has heated up and now she is being pursued by two more groups all with their own agenda. Also, the crazy sides of both Mason and Damian are coming out. One brother catches feelings for Melanie while the other enlists others to help him catch her. Betrayal and deceit show their ugly head between the brothers with both scheming to get to her first. Also in the book the reader will be given the answers to why the brothers are the way they are. Again PLEASE READ THE AUTHOR'S NOTES. This book has all kinds of triggers

Psychotic

Wow this book was insane. There wasn't a dull moment. Secrets are revealed, there are lies, murder, manipulation, betrayal, sex, and seriously disturbed individuals. Melanie for herself in a horrible situation trying to run away from crazy stepmom and her sister. Mason completely loses it. Damian goes to extreme lengths. All around this was a page turner that I didn't want to put down.

Too much

I half read the first and skimmed this one. I won’t finish the series. It was too much going on. For all of these people to be “smart,” they were acting like dummies. Why did every single person in this series take the smallest sliver of information and run with it, not doing any digging? Then all this crazy stuff because of it. None of it made sense. It was too much going on.

4.5*****

Great follow up wow Mason was a lot more darker in this one most definitely . Melanie went through a lot but so did so many other characters. Damien was still his old self but we learned so much more about everyone in this book. I can't wait to read Chelsi's book. Editing issues is the reason for my rating otherwise I enjoyed this book.

From girl to turning tricks on a car ride

I don't know why or want to understand what made the author decide to have Melanie prostitute herself for a car ride. Then she hangs around the guy long enough to be forced to turn tricks! WHY LORD, WHY! Especially when it was such a special point made in book 1 that she only had sex with 2 guys.

??????

I liked it. I mean I was good but not great not much character development and the heroin never really came out of her shell never woke to her potential. I was hoping she would join mika Natalie and chelsi...become a bad ass bitch.my biggest question is how is book 3 about Chelsea when Melanie story isn't finished? Sicily is after them right?

Mason Is So Ruthless To Melanie

Mason fell in love and went off his rocker. When he thinks Melanie betrayed him, he is so, so, so, cruel to her. Poor Melanie, there is only so much an innocent soul could take. While Mason is punishing and degrading her, he doesn’t even feel sorry for her. BUT HE WANTS HER!

So much going on

Mason can't seem to stay away from Melanie, he has conflicted feeling to her. Damian is still psychotic and still seeking revenge against everybody except Mason. There has got to be a sequel to this story.

This is even more toxic than the first book. Mason is absolutely nuts and Damian is bat-sh*t crazy. Technically, Melanie deserves better than all these toxic criminals in her life but I enjoy her and Mason still. Am I the villain ?? 😂😂😂

Chaotic writing part 2

This was a wonderful follow up to story one. It feels unfinished. Hopefully there will be a book that will tie everything together. I still enjoyed the story.
